Most of multi-agent systems have been developed in the field of Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) whose schemes are based on plenty of pre-knowledge of the agents' world or organized relationships among the agents. However, these kind of knowledge would not be always available. On the other hand, multi-agent reinforcement learning is worth considering to realize the cooperative behavior among the agents with littls pre-knowledge. There are two main problems to be considered in multi-agent reinforcement learning. One is the uncertainty of state transition problem which is owing to concurrent learning of the agents. And the other is the perceptual aliasing problem which is generally held in such a world. Therefore, the robustness and flexibility are essential for the multi-agent reinforcement learning toward these two problems. In this paper, we evaluate Q-learning and Profit Sharing as the method for multi-agent reinforcement learning through some experiments. We take up the Pursuit Problem as one of the multi-agent world. In the experiments, we do not assume the existence of any pre-defined relationship among agents or any control knowledge for cooperation. Learning agents do not share sensation, episodes and policies. Each agent learns through its own episodes independent of the others. The result of experiments shows that cooperative behaviors emerge clearly among Profit Sharing hunters who are not influenced by concurrent learning even when the prey has the certain escaping way against the hunters. Moreover, they behave rational under the perceptual aliasing areas. On the other hand, Q-learning hunters can not make any policy in such a world. Through these experiments, we conclude that Profit Sharing has the good properties for multi-agent reinforcement learning because or its rubustness for the change of other agents' policies and the limitation of agent's sensing abilities.

計算機援用の形状設計に有用な,曲率が弧長の区分2次関数となる曲率微分連続な補間曲線の導き方について述べている.弧長によってパラメトリック表現されるこの曲線は,曲率がスパン内に変曲点を持たず比較的変化が少ないという好ましい性質を持っている.汎用の数式処理システムを導入して与点通過と境界条件からなる非線形連立方程式を解いてこの曲線を導いている.記号式も数値と同様に処理できるのでアルゴリズムを簡潔に記述することができるとともに種々の境界条件をデータとして与えることができる.また,導出された曲線の各スパンをG2連続な2クロソイド弧で局所的に近似する方法を示して従来曲線との整合性をとっている.

本研究の目的は,デジタルデバイスにより手書き入力された文字の美化を行うことである.深層学習を用いて画像間変換を行うことで,手書き入力された文字に対して,フォントのような線の強弱や「とめ」,「はらい」といった特徴を付加することに成功した.加えて,従来の美化手法である平均化との比較を行い,入力された文字の個性を残せる点,フォントのような特徴を付加できる点で差別化できることを確認した.

キュリー夫人ことマリー・キュリーは「ラジウムの発見者」として有名だが,彼女が発見したのはラジウムだけではない。ポロニウムも発見しているし,トリウムの放射性を発見したのもマリーである。放射能という言葉を作り,この現象が当該元素の原子的性質であることを最初に見抜いた。それなのに,どうしてラジウムだけが有名なのだろう。そこにはマリーの生きた時代と切り離せない事情がある。ここでは,マリー・キュリーがいかにして,先の発見をなしとげたのか。特にラジウムは,一般にどのような発見だと受け止められたのかを見ていこう。

Art aims neither at the fastidious elaboration of form nor at the sensual intoxication. Its proper function consists, through its visibility, in representing "being as such", not in embodying a specific ideal of beauty. This metaphisical view of art, considered as "the organon of philosophy" has been a traditional one since Aristotle. But it is not free from the "imitation-theory", for here "being as such" is considered merely objectively, not existentially. Art, however, must be existential par excellence, in so far as it depends upon the free activity of creation, since "being as such" is not essentially objective wholeness, but non-objective and encompassing one. In this sense art is, according to Jaspers, the illustration of existence, and the philosophy of art does not mean thinking about art, but thinking in art. This is what Jaspers means by art as "the organon of philosophy". This treatise aims at elucidating the existential point of view of art, following Jaspers's philosophy of art-especially through his elucidation of the structure of "cipher reading".

その土地の自然災害被災履歴を暗示する災害地名は,地域社会の中で受け継がれてきた災害文化を構成する重要な要素の一つである.東日本大震災以降,最新の科学的知見に基づいた津波ハザードマップの見直しが進められたが,それらの根拠は現存する記録ベースにとどまっており,先人たちの知恵の結晶ともいうべき災害地名にはそれらを補完しうるハザードを顕示する可能性を秘めている.本研究では,全国各地に見られる一般的な津波災害地名地点を対象に,空間情報解析によってその地形分類や地質・土壌区分の特性及び相互関係を把握し,沿岸市区町村の災害地名による津波被災リスクの顕示性を明らかにした.

Fashion brings pleasure to people and provokes strong emotions in them. It is difficult to reveal any physiological effects that fashion may have on the human body. These days, methods which objectively measure the effects of stimulation on the physiological activity of the human body have been developed. In this study we evaluate how fashion affects the psychological and physiological activity of the human body and attempt to measure the effects that wearing clothes or looking at fashionable clothes have on this activity. For this, we conducted four different types of research. First, we invited experts in the psychological and physiological research fields to give lectures. It became clear through their lectures that psychological surveys related to fashion and self- conception, and multiple physiological indices of stress tests were important. Second, we reviewed psychological research about fashion in journals and reports over the past 30 years and lectures given by researchers. Although much research had been done, we found that the types of people used for the research were limited, and questionnaires were not uniform. It became clear that it is important to clarify the physiological variability that fashion has on depressed subjects and to learn more about the psychological effects of fashion on various types of people. We also learned that using multiple physiological indicators for stress experiments is important, and that psychological research focusing on the impressions that fashion forms and the relationship between self-concept and fashion are needed.Third, we extracted questions about fashion consciousness, pleasantness and stress from literature over the last 30 years and considered their psychological effects. From these, a questionnaire was compiled. Finally, we conducted several psychological tests and wearing tests using physiological markers to clarify how fashion affects the human body. We found that when people wear their favorite clothes, stress caused by anxiety decreases, the parasympathetic nervous system is activated, and salivary sIgA concentration increases. Other experiments showed that salivary alpha amylase activity increases due to stress caused by wearing thongs, panniers or other minimal coverings. It was suggested that people’s level of emotion can be determined by measuring psychological and physiological markers

Previous studies have indicated that imagery is important for the performance of gymnastics. The purpose of this study was to examine the practical effects of imagery training on artistic gymnasts. The subjects chosen for this research were male gymnasts (n=26) belonging to the male gymnastics club of University A. In this study, the group was divided into an image training group (n=16) and a control group (n=10), and imagery training group performed imagery training 5 times a week for 3 weeks. The content of the training was set with reference to the PETTLEP model (Holmes and Collins, 2001). Subjects were asked to answer the Japanese SIAQ (Aikawa et al., 2019) and CSAI-2 (Martens et al., 1990) before and after the intervention, and their performance was measured. The results of this study indicated that the imagery training group members improved their imagery ability and self-confidence. Although there was no statistically significant difference in performance, there was a valuable change in performance in gymnastics. In conclusion, this study revealed the effect of imagery training based on scientific evidence. We consider that this study has provided useful knowledge for gymnasts, coaches, and mental training consultant in sports who use imagery training.

Crossbreeding is the most commonly used method in breeding of Lentinula edodes, however low fruiting rate of the hybrids has always caused troubles and barriers for breeders. An early screening method of the fruiting ability could make the breeding work more efficient. In this paper, a rapid and high-throughput laccase activity detection method based on agar diffusion principle was developed. In this way, we investigated the constitutive and inducible extracellular laccase activity of 36 strains in a breeding population of L. edodes on different media and performed a correlation analysis with fruiting ability of these strains. The results showed the laccase activity of mycelium cultured in non-induced medium for 8 d could be used as an early screening index to judge whether it had fruiting ability at the later stage. Early rapid and simple screening method for hybrid populations was established based on laccase activity characteristics of mycelia. 127 strains from another 5 different hybrid populations were used to verify the early screening method. From the validation results, the early screening method was effective, but the appropriate screening threshold was needed to select according to the cross population, which would greatly to improve the breeding efficiency of L. edodes.

Phenolic compounds in the leaves of Hedysarum vicioides, an alpine plant widely distributed in Japan, were surveyed. Four flavonol glycosides, quercetin 3-O-robinobioside, 3-O-rutinoside, 3-O-galactoside and 3-O-glucoside, and a xanthone glycoside, mangiferin were identified. Both types of phenolic compounds possess UV absorbing and antioxidant properties. The overall content of phenolic compounds decreased when the plants cultivated in a growth chamber and a glasshouse, compared to plants grown in their native habitat. Under cultivated conditions, the decrease of quercetin glycosides was particularly marked. Furthermore, we also extracted components from the specimens and compared the composition of the plant with that of another congeneric species distributed in Japan, and found the differences between the two species. We describe the chemotaxonomic and ecological significance of the isolated compounds.
