When terrorism occurred at tunnel of the underground, the police and Japan Self Defense Forces have to scout in the tunnel while confirming the safety in the tunnel. It’s said that they need the robot which does such dangerous work for the unit. So we have been developing the information gathering robot which can travel on the railway track of the underground, the station premises and the ground. This robot has a bogie wheel mechanism to pass easily a gap and a curve of a rail. In this report, we describe the design concept and the design process of the locomotion mechanism of this robot. And we consider the driving performance of it on the imitation railway track.

The localization of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in human cholesteatoma tissue, normal ear drum and external auditory canal skin was examined immunohistochemically, using avidin-biotin peroxidase complex method.<br>Bouin-fixed tissue was stained for investigation of horny layer in the epidermis, because fixation in Bouin's solution provides better preservation of the antigen. In the horny layer of cholesteatoma tissue, 19 out of 24 cases had EGF-positive immunoreactivity (79%). In 2 cases of normal external auditory canal skin, 4 cases of normal ear drum and a case of postauricular skin, no EGF-immunoreactivity was revealed in the horny layer.<br>EGF was assayed in the debris of cholesteatoma and the horny layer of the normal bony external canal with dot blot immunoassay. EGF content of the debris was higher than that of the horny layer of normal skin.<br>The result of the first report suggests the activity of cholesteatoma exists in the subcutaneous tissue (see the previous paper). In this report EGF content of cholesteatoma in the horny layer was found higher than that of normal external skin. This result demonstrates that EGF in the horny layer plays an important role in accelerating the growth and bony destruction in cholesteatoma.<br>To summarize these two reports, the following conclusion was reached. In the epidermis EGF content is equal in cholesteatoma and normal skin. But in the subcutaneous tissue and the horny layer EGF content of cholesteatoma is higher than that of normal skin. EGF in situ may be strongly related to the growth and bony destruction of cholesteatoma.

背景 近年,要介護状態の後期高齢者は急増し,施設利用を自ら選択する意向もみられる.しかし 高齢者にとって施設入所による環境変化は,重大なリスクにつながる.目的 介護老人福祉施設入所による後期高齢者の生活環境変化に適応するための要因を明らかにする.方法 同意が得られた介護老人福祉施設に入所8カ月の94歳の対象Cさんに,インタビュー調査を行った.そして逐語録を作成した後,KJ法の手法を用いて質的に分析した.結果・考察 KJ法の結果66個のラベルが取り出され,ラベルは20個の島に分類された.またこれらの島から11個の表札を抽出した.これらの分析より,生活環境への適応状態には【生活の知恵や判断力に基づいて対処行動がとれる】【自分の居場所が決められる】【職員のケアが適切である】【静かで自然を感じる環境がある】【家族が支えになっている】の5つの要因が関連していることが明らかになった.結論 介護老人福祉施設入所による後期高齢者の生活環境への適応状態を質的に分析した結果, 5つの適応要因の関連が明らかになった.

A new type of electrochromism was found on titanium oxide prepared from the hydroly-sis of titanium tetrachroride with dilute hydro-chloric acid. To prepare the electrochromic panel, the titanium oxide powder with or without resin binder was sandwitched between two NESA glass electrodes. By applying a DC voltage (10_??_200V) to the electrodes, the color of the layer near the cathode changed rapidly from white to dark blue or black, and the dark color disappeared quickly to the original white by cutting off the voltage. The optical density of the dark color was 0.5_??_0.6 and the half life time of the colored state was about 2 seconds at room temperature.

Japanese people are widely believed to be the descendants of the Jomon and Yayoi people. The dual-structure model, which attempts to explain the formation of the Japanese population, hypothesizes that the indigenous Jomon people migrated from the northern island of Hokkaido and the Ryukyu Islands to the other islands of Japan, where they resided before the Yayoi started to arrive in Kyushu (the westernmost main island of the Japanese archipelago) from the Korean peninsula. Regarding Y chromosome DNA polymorphisms, it is assumed that Jomon males frequently belong to haplogroups C or D, while Yayoi males frequently belong to haplogroup O. These findings suggest that the frequencies of haplogroup C, D, and O might differ between Hokkaido and northern Kyushu males and exhibit geographical gradients in Japan. However, the data of Y chromosome haplogroup frequencies in modern Japanese males is still limited. Here, we investigated whether the frequency of Y chromosome haplogroups differs between males from different regions of Japan. We recruited 2390 males from nine populations in seven cities in mainland Japan and typed their Y chromosome haplogroups. We did not detect any marked variability in the frequencies of these haplogroups among Japanese males, except for a difference between Nagasaki and Kawasaki students. In conclusion, modern Japanese males appear to be genetically homogenized in mainland Japan because of genetic drift and recent frequent gene flow.

形成外科的縫合法の基本は,1.繊細な器具で組織を愛護的に扱う,2.組織反応の少ない針付き糸を用いる,3.なるべく細い糸で密に縫合を行う,4.結紮はゆるく,正結紮で偶数回むすぶ,5.瘢痕が目立たない方向を考慮した切開線とする,6.真皮縫合法を活用する,などの点があげられる。縫合痕(suture mark)を残さないために,ゆるく密な皮膚縫合,創部の安静と早めの抜糸,抜糸後の後療法などにも配慮する必要がある。
