RoHS規制等のもとで電気電子機器に対し化学物質などの環境規制が強まっている。これに対応するには環境上の効果と経済上の費用のライフサイクルにおけるバランスを見つつLCCBA(ライフサイクル費用対便益分析)手法を用いて施策を評価決定する必要がある。洗濯機を対象に環境対応シナリオに対しスクリーニングLCC・LCA・LCIAを実施し、LCCBA手法の特徴と課題・有効性を示す。

アフリカにおける自然保護政策の原型である「原生自然保護」は, 植民地時代におけるスポーツハンティングのための猟獣を保護することを主たる動機の1つとして始まった。しかし, そのための地域住民への強権的な対応に対する批判などから, 1980年代に「住民参加型保全」へとモデルシフトし, 住民への高圧的な対応の克服が目指された。また動物に対する環境倫理思想と野生動物の非消費的な利用の隆盛も関係し, スポーツハンティングは過去のものとされがちであった。しかし, スポーツハンティングは現存するばかりでなく, 多くのアフリカ諸国でその活動を活発化させている。本稿は ,カメルーン共和国のべヌエ国立公園を調査地として,現代のスポーツハンティングの実態に注目し,自然保護政策における位置づけと,地域住民との相互関係を分析する。その結果,スポーツハンティングを,「自然保護政策を経済的に支えうるツール」として現実的に評価しつつも,それがもつ「地域住民を犠牲にしたうえでおこなわれる欧米富裕層の娯楽」という時代錯誤的な性格を是正する必要性があることを指摘するThe early wildlife conservation policy in Africa called "Protectionism" was introduced in order to protect wild animals that played an important role in sport hunting. However in the 1980's, the heavy hand of policy enforcers towards local people was criticized, leading to this policy model shifting from "Protectionism" to "Community-based conservation". Two changes were expected from this shift in policy, namely, an exclusion of the colonialistic practices of conservation and a shift to a community based bottom-up approach. Moreover, with the greater observance of environmental ethics and more widespread non-consumeristic use of wildlife, such as ecotourism, sport hunting has become inconspicuous. This study focuses on the Bénoué National Park in Cameroon and describes the present condition of sport hunting as an activity that is not talked of and explores the position in the conservation project, along with its relationship with local people. The government has leased the area located around the national park to the Western capital and earmarked it as a "hunting zone". Sport hunting in that area is the centerpiece of the tourism that provides financial support for the management of the national park. Further, the local labor force and the income generated result in a reciprocal relationship between the industry, the government, and the local people. On the other hand, local hunting has been regulated in cooperation with international conservation institutes. This has resulted in the creation of tension between the concerned parties. One of the expected results of this case study, i.e., the bottom-up approach, was not observed. This is not the expected outcome of the model shift to communitybased conservation. Moreover, it was evident that the conservation structure and the methodologies adopted, which are reminiscent of colonialism, still remain strong. I also highlight the fact that sport hunting can be considered as an economic support for the implementation of the conservation policy. However, in my opinion, sport hunting should change its character from the present colonialistic mindset of the amusement of Western wealthy class with an exclusion of local people.

<p>朝日新聞フォトアーカイブは、朝日新聞社が所蔵する約2,000万枚の写真をデジタル化し、社内外での利用を進めるため、2010年に発足した。写真の提供は有償。テレビ局や教科書会社、出版社などが主な取引先となっている。最近は、周年企業の社史、都道府県や市町村の歴史年表などでの利用に加え、海外メディアで使われるケースも増えている。写真のデジタル化と書誌編集作業には、膨大な手間とコストがかかる。写真を死蔵することなく、広く活用してもらうためにも、事業としての発展性が重要になる。古い写真に加え、最新のニュース写真、図表なども扱い、ここ数年は動画の利用が伸びている。</p>

The causal relationship between the inhibition of antibody production and liver injury induced by single doses of acetaminophen (APAP) was investigated in mice. The liver injury and antibody production were evaluated using the serum transaminase activity and the number of antibody forming cells against sheep red blood cells (SRBC), respectively. The relevance of APAP hepatotoxicity with inhibiting antibody production was elucidated in fasted and fed mice treated with a single oral administration of APAP. In fasted mice, the oral administration of APAP produced serious liver injury, while it was not the case in the fed mice. As the antibody production was measured under these conditions, APAP significantly depressed the antibody production in fed mice as well as in fasted mice. The rate of B220 positive cells in the splenocytes was significantly decreased by APAP administration in both the fasted and fed mice. Splenocytes proliferative responses following mitogenic stimulation with concanavalin A or lipopolysaccharide were inhibited by APAP. Moreover, APAP added directly to the splenocyte culture also inhibited the in vitro antibody-producing response to SRBC. These findings indicate that the APAP-induced depression of antibody production may not be a secondary response to APAP-hepatitis, but may be a primary response to APAP.

<p>区域麻酔・神経ブロック時の抗血栓療法(抗凝固薬・抗血小板薬)の休薬は,血栓予防には短期間が望ましいが,出血・血腫予防には十分な休薬が望ましい.この相反する問題解決のために2016年12月,日本ペインクリニック学会・日本麻酔科学会・日本区域麻酔学会が共同で,抗血栓療法中の区域麻酔・神経ブロックの日本版ガイドラインを作成した.手技と出血性素因により,高・中・低リスク群に分類した上で,各薬剤の休薬期間を設定しているが,休薬による血栓形成より出血予防を優先している.合併症が極めてまれであるため,DOAC(direct oral anticoagulant)も含めエビデンスに乏しいが,抗血栓療法の休薬基準がない本邦の現状から脱する一つの道標としての意義があり継続的な内容改訂が望まれる.</p>

前号掲載の『岡本綺堂の喜劇』に続いて、今号では岡鬼太郎の喜劇を取り上げる。綺堂と共に、「新歌舞伎」を代表する作家の一人である鬼太郎は、現在でも上演されることの多い『眠駱駝物語』や『江島土産 坊主烏賊』などの喜劇を書いている。現在では殆ど論考の対象とされることのないこれらの喜劇をはじめ、落語研究会を組織して新作落語の普及に努めた彼の落語作品--『意地競』など--や小話、所作事などを含め、その作品の喚起する笑い--滑稽--について、私見を提出したい。また、喜劇と銘打ってはいないにもかかわらず、作品の随処に鏤められた喜劇的場面や、彼が蘇生、再演した『鳴神』等の古典的作品の孕む近代性にも言及し、その喜劇の全体像について考察を試みることとする。

長期間の心理社会的ストレス暴露は高血圧の発症を促し、放置すると脳卒中や心筋梗塞を招く危険がある。ところがストレスによる高血圧発症機序については不明である。慢性ストレスでは、骨髄由来の炎症細胞が活性化し、扁桃体や視床下部に集積してミクログリアになることが報告されている(脳・骨髄相関)。そこで申請者らは「慢性ストレスによる高血圧の発症は、脳・骨髄相関に起因した“扁桃体-視床下部系の炎症”による」という仮説を立てた。本研究では動物モデルを用いてこの仮説を検証するとともに、運動トレーニングによる、脱ストレス・抗高血圧効果の機序についても併せて検討していく。
