Sports-associated injuries often involve trauma to soft tissues such as ligaments, tendons, skeletal muscle, and skin. A shortened recovery process for injured tissues is of great interest to athletes, as injury-associated inactivity depresses both sports performance and physical fitness. Recently proposed treatments to accelerate tissue repair include microcurrent electrical neuromuscular stimulation (MENS), low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS), hyperbaric oxygen (HBO), and autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Among these treatments, MENS has been applied to alleviate pain and reduce swelling following sports-associated injuries of tendons and ligaments. MENS is reported to stimulate the regeneration of skeletal muscles, a part of the body commonly injured in sports. MENS is expected to soon become a standard therapy for accelerating the repair of injured skeletal muscles and other soft tissues. In this review, we provide an overview of MENS and briefly describe several other proposed treatments for sports-associated injuries.

Career development theory has matured 100 years since its founding by Frank Parsons (1909). Although numerous theories have been devised during this period, each offers only fragmentary and partial knowledge. Theories have been criticized for their lack of theoretical consisitency and integration. For example, Super (1990) acknowledged that his theoretical formulation was segmental and represented an effort to bring together concepts from various branches of psychology. Thus, flaws of existing theories have been noted by as eminent a career development theorist as Super. Recently, theorists habe acknowledged the value in attempting to provide a more integrative theoretical picture of career development. This review of the literature offers a viewpoint integrating career development theories by the content and process of career development.

表層多腐地質多湿黒ボク土の土壌pHが各種畑作物の生育,収量と土壌中の各種成分に与える影響を検討した.得られた結果は以下のように要約できる. 1)トウモロコシを除く各作物は低土壌pHで初期成育が劣り,各作物の耐酸性はトウモロコシ>秋コムギ>インゲン>テンサイ>2条オオムギの順であった. 2)北海道の主要畑作物である秋コムギ,インゲン,テンサイはH_2O-pH 4.5以下で酸性障害を受け,初期成育値が劣った.H_2O-pH 4.5に対応する水溶性(土:水比=1:2.5)Al濃度は,1.9ppm,Al活動度は2.33×10^<-5 (M/l)^<1/3> で,酸性障害の主因はAl過剰害によるものと推定された. 3)酸性障害が発現しない条件下における土壌pHと各作物の収量反応は,バレイショとテンサイは,それぞれH_2O-pH 5.5〜5.7, 5.7〜6.1を頂点とする山形の曲線を示し,秋コムギはH_2O-pH 5.5〜6.3を頂点とする台形形の曲線を示し,これらの作物は炭カル施用による一定程度のH_2O-pH 上昇で収量増になった. 4)炭カル施用によるH_2O-pHの上昇で水溶性(土:水比=1:2.5) P_2O_5濃度とトルオーグP_2O/5含量は低下,減少し,作物体のリン酸吸収量も減少傾向が認められた. 5)炭カル施用による収量増の主因は,テンサイ,インゲン,春コムギでは全乾物重の増加ではなく,収穫指数の向上にあった.また,この場合,リン酸質資材を併施用すると,全乾物重も増加し,収量はさらに高まった.

The pintle injector is one of the most promising candidate for propellant injection systems of liquid rocket engine combustors due to the throttling capability and simple structure. However, combustion characteristics of pintle injectors are still unclear. Therefore, combustion experiments are conducted for an ethanol/liquid oxygen rocket engine combustor with a planar pintle injector which simulates the injection configuration of a pintle injector and enables optical measurements at <I>Pc</I>=0.40MPa and O/F=1.08-1.56. Direct images of the flame structure and CH chemiluminesence are observed through an optical window using high speed imaging techniques. Backlit images of the spray structure are observed. Strong CH chemiluminescence is observed in the vicinity of the impinging point of the two propellants. Luminous flames are observed in the vicinity of the faceplate and the upper wall of the combustor. It is observed that atomization process of the planar pintle injector proceeds two-dimensionally unlike conventional impinging injectors. A periodic atomization behavior is observed with the frequency of approximately 700Hz, being equal to the frequency of the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the influence of the school on a depopulated area. In this paper, Hatoma Island in Okinawa Prefecture is took up. People in Hatoma have coped with the maintaining of the elementary and junior school. They have experienced in a severe decrease in population since 1960's, and almost all the children left there. They worried if school was closed. Because they thought that school closing meant island end. Then they have adopted the foster-parent system since 1980's, and have accepted children from the nursing home in Naha city.But recently no children come from the nursing home. Now children come as Kaihin-Ryugaku system by which children come to stay village near the sea, and to go to school in the village. In Hatoma, children come from all over the Japan and they stay at agent's home. Such children's change leads people to new recognition of the children. The change is that people can't expect children to play a part in Hatoma when they grow up.The analysis of this paper suggests school has an important effective on a depopulated area. School makes people expect not only children staying there but also lasting of their community in the future.
