In this paper, the author intends to describe how the “Kotaka” (a little river gun boat) was lifted by a crane and put on board a ship when she was transported from the Tama Dock Yard, Japan, to Shanghai.The hull of the boat is not so strong since she ha s very light scantlings, but she displaces 60 tons at the normal condition and her weight lifted was such amount as 53.5 tons. Therefore, it is a rare case to do such a work, and there were troubles to be overcome.You will be interested in the author's explanation about the following items : -The outline of the subject.The general feature of the “Kotaka” The calculation for the lifting arrangement.The result of the work. etc.

To evaluate physical functions in patients with chronic low back pain, it is important to evaluate trunk muscle function. Anatomical and electromyographical studies of trunk muscles in healthy subjects and patients with chronic low back pain are introduced in this paper. Many articles is published have asserted that the action of trunk muscles of patients with chronic low back pain is different from that of healthy subjects. In my research, electromyography (EMG) of trunk muscles during hip extension in the prone position was used in patients with chronic low back pain and healthy subjects. EMG showed that the action of trunk muscles during this motion in patients with chronic low back pain was weaker than that in healthy subjects, but EMG of trunk muscles during this motion after therapeutic exercises indicated improvement in patients with chronic low back pain. It has been said that EMG evaluation of the trunk muscles is an important method to use in patients with chronic low back pain.

In the middle of the 8th century, a prospecting party under the Provincial Government of Michinoku discovered a gold placer at Nonodake Hill, the Province of Michinoku, Northeast Japan. The placer was worked by corvee labor. It was the earliest gold mining in Japan. K. Kudaranokonikishi, Governor of Michinoku, offered 33.75 kg of gold to the Emperor Shomu in 749. The people of the northern parts of Michinoku were saddled with 9.4 g of gold in poll tax from 752. The gold was used for gilding of the great bronze statue of Buddha at Nara, which was under construction. The statue, 15.8 m in height, was completed in 757. A total of 150 kg or more of gold was gilded the statue and others. In 760, the Japanese Government minted the first gold coin in Japan, which was named Kaikishoho. The working was interrupted because of a rebellion by the natives against the Government in 774, and was reopened after 38 years’ disturbances of war. The gold diggings decreased in production from the early part of the 9th century. The placer gold had been almost exhausted in the 15th century. A very small quantity of gold is still obtained from the remains of the diggings.

本稿では,特に大きな変化のあった性犯罪者の処遇を例に挙げて,ポジティブ心理学的アプローチが評価されてきた理由と,同アプローチに対する批判的見解の双方の視点から検証し,同アプローチを導入することの利点と注意点について考察した。犯罪者に対する責任や問題点の直面化を重視するという処遇方法には,進め方を誤れば犯罪者の自尊感情の低下を招いたり,処遇に対する動機付けを高めにくかったりするといった短所が少なくないが,ポジティブ心理学の観点が追加されることによってそうした短所を補うことができると見られた。ただし,ポジティブ心理学に対する批判は軽視できないことから,ポジティブ心理学的アプローチはあくまで既存の処遇の浸透性を高めるために補足的に使用することが望ましいと考えられた。

The cold storage of two-cell embryos is a useful technique for transporting genetically engineered mice without the shipment of live animals. However, the developmental ability of cold-stored embryos decreases with prolonged storage periods. Therefore, the transported embryos must be readily transferred to recipient mice upon arrival. The cryopreservation of cold-transported embryos may improve the flexibility of the schedule of embryo transfer. In this paper, we examined the viability and developmental ability of vitrified-warmed mouse embryos at the two-cell stage after cold storage in refrigerated temperatures for 0, 24, 48, 72, or 96 hours. The viability of vitrified-warmed embryos after cold storage was comparable to vitrified-warmed embryos without cold storage. Vitrified-warmed embryos after cold storage also developed normally to pups by embryo transfer. In addition, live pups were obtained from vitrified-warmed embryos after cold-transportation from Asahikawa Medical University. In summary, cold-stored embryos can be used for the transportation and archive of genetically engineered mice.

クラウンブリッジにおけるデジタルデンティストリーの活用のためには,歯科用CAD/CAMシステムにおけるマテリアル選択が必須である.しかし,歯科用CAD/CAMシステムは材料と加工法の組み合わせによりきわめて多種多様なシステムが活用されており,さらにシステムは年々多様化し,使用可能な材料が増える傾向にある.したがって,マテリアル選択には各方法・材料の基本的知識を,最新情報を元に把握しておく必要がある.本報では,歯科用CAD/CAMシステムで使用される材料の特性について,最適材料の選択に役立つように,セラミックス系材料,金属系材料,レジン系材料の3つの素材に大別して,解説する.

本論文では, 脳内の報酬系にかかわる最新の知見を取り上げてレビューする。黒質緻密部 (SNc) および腹側被蓋野 (VTA) のドーパミン細胞は, 側坐核, 背側線条体, 辺縁系, および前頭連合野など, さまざまな報酬関連領域に軸索を投射しており, 報酬の脳内表現に重要な役割をはたしている。ドーパミン細胞が報酬の予測誤差の検出に関わっているのに対して, 側坐核や辺縁系に属する複数の脳領域は, 報酬から快感や喜びを生じさせることに関わっている。背側線条体は, 特定の刺激や行為の価値を学習することに関わっており, パブロフ型および道具的条件づけの成立に重要な役割を果たしている。前頭連合野は, 行為を実行したり将来の行動を組織化したりするための動機づけの支えとなる, 短期および長期の報酬期待に関わっている。また, 行動選択肢の評価, 行おうとする行為の検討や, 行為の結果のモニタリングなどに関わることにより, 報酬情報に基づいた意思決定に重要な役割を果たしている。

There have been many efforts to develop novel antipsychotic drugs with improved clinical efficacy and reduced side effects such as extrapyramidal side effects and hyperprolactinemia. Recent evidences from studies on the effects of novel antipsychotic drugs such as clozapine on neurotransmitter receptors are prompting reconsideration of the dopaminergic hypothesis of schizophrenia. This paper gives an overview of the current understanding, including our data, of the effects of several antipsychotics on dopamine receptor subtypes. The recent cloning of dopamine receptors has revealed that multiple dopamine receptor subtypes are generated from at least five distinct dopamine receptor genes. Aripiprazole, a candidate for a novel antipsychotic, has an antagonistic activity against dopamine D2 receptors with a high affinity, but has a weaker potency to up-regulate D2 receptors than haloperidol in the striatum and inhibitory effects on D2-receptor binding activities and mRNA in the pituitary, when it is chronically administrated to rats. Thus the occupancy or influences in D2 receptors in the striatum are involved in the extrapyramidal side effects of typical antipsychotic drugs. These studies provide new leads to understand the pathophysiology and causes of schizophrenia and to develop more effective and safe methods of treatment.

目的:固定性義歯による欠損補綴治療に比較して,可撤性義歯による治療は咀嚼機能の回復程度に個人差が大きいにもかかわらず,義歯装着者に関する認知機能と咀嚼機能に関する研究は少ない。本研究では,認知機能低下の危険性がある可撤性義歯装着高齢者の口腔機能を明らかにするため,認知機能の低下の有無,義歯装着の有無によってグループ化し口腔機能の比較を行った。 方法:299名の高齢者に対し,認知機能のスクリーニングテストと義歯装着の有無によって,義歯を装着しておらず認知機能の異常を認めない群,義歯を装着しておらず認知機能の低下が疑われる群,義歯を装着しており認知機能の異常を認めない群,義歯を装着しており認知機能の低下が疑われる群を設定し,残存歯数の計測,咀嚼機能検査,最大咬合力測定,25品目の摂取可能食品アンケートおよびオーラルディアドコキネシス計測を実施した。 結果:義歯を装着しており認知機能が低下している群において,残存歯数と咀嚼能力が有意に低下していた。さらに,義歯装着者を欠損の大きさによって群分けし,口腔機能を比較したところ,全部床義歯を装着しており認知機能の低下している群で有意な咀嚼機能の低下を認めた。 結論:認知機能の低下が疑われる全部床義歯装着者は,客観的評価である咀嚼機能検査と主観的評価である摂取可能食品アンケートの両方で有意な低下を認めた。

本論では全国無作為抽出代表サンプル調査によって得られた調査研究結果の分析を通じて, 家族社会学的研究からDV議論になにがフィードバックできるかを論ずる。問題解決志向性という観点からは一種の臨床家族社会学的研究ともみなせるが, より一般的には運動論や政策論と学術研究の関連性を問う性質をあわせもつ。暴力被害・加害経験の分析結果は非対称性仮説を支持せず, 世代間連鎖仮説をほぼ支持するものであった。これらの結果について, 暴力の深刻性, DV定義の外延的拡大パラドクス, 対称サンプルの差異などの観点から考察が加えられ, 学術研究および対策・政策論の双方において「市民的暴力」と「家父長支配的暴力」の類型区分の重要性が指摘された。

There are reports that English text typed with unreadable fonts is more memorable than that with readable fonts. The purpose of the textbook is to reinforce the reader’s understanding. Therefore, the unreadable fonts can be better than readable ones. We investigated the effect of font type on the memory and comprehension of typed text in Japanese. We found that the comprehension is better when unreadable font types are applied except that the text was written only in Chinese characters. Our finding can be applied for various educational scene.

敏感肌において感覚刺激を受けやすいことの原因の一つとして,角層バリア機能の低下により外来刺激物質が皮膚に浸透しやすくなっていることが考えられている。しかしながら,角層バリア機能がどのように低下しているのかについての詳細は明らかになっていない。そこで,ドライアイの診断法として汎用されているフルオレセイン染色法を皮膚に応用して,非侵襲的手法による角層バリア機能のビジュアル化を試みた。検討の結果,皮膚にフルオレセインを塗布して蛍光を観察することにより,角層深部への水溶性物質の浸透が確認できた。また蛍光強度を定量したところ,経皮水分蒸散量との間に相関が確認された。これによりフルオレセイン染色像が角層バリア機能を反映していることが明らかになり,角層バリア機能のビジュアル化が実現できた。また,角層バリア機能がどの領域で低下しているかを観察することが可能になった。実際にこの方法を用いて敏感肌の頬部皮膚の観察を行ったところ,毛穴周辺領域での角層バリア機能の低下が示唆された。さらにはスキンケア化粧品の連用による角層バリア機能向上のビジュアル化に活用しうることが示された。

Care workers at care facilities play an important role in providing medication-administration assistance, and in medication risk management. Nevertheless, research has not made clear the specific concerns that care workers have at work sites, as well as the extent of their burdens. Thus, we conducted a questionnaire survey from October 1 through October 31, 2014 for staff who provide medication-administration assistance at for-pay elderly person homes about the concrete concerns and burdens with regards to the assistance. A total of 1677 respondents were analyzed: 228 nurses and 1449 care workers. Results showed that the care workers had a variety of problems and issues. These included the fact that, since care workers are not medical profession, they were unable to answer questions that the facility residents asked about their medications; they had concerns regarding their own lack of awareness of the efficacies of medications, and as to whether certain drugs were inappropriate for certain patients with swallowing dysfunctions; they wondered whether drugs in tablet forms had to be crushed before administration. They also encountered pharmacological-related issues, including whether administration times and numbers failed to match the lifestyle patterns of facility residents, and so forth. It is presumed that, with active intervention of pharmacists within facilities, these issues could be resolved. Study results, thus, suggested the need for system creation whereby pharmacists can become deeply involved in medication-administration assistance along with the care workers within facilities.

スポーツ外傷の中でも足底筋膜断裂は極めて稀である.今回我々は女子バスケットボール選手に発生した足底筋膜断裂の1例を経験したので報告する.34歳女性,主訴は右足底部痛と歩行困難である.学生時代より県内トップクラスの選手であり,現在も競技生活を継続している.平成27年11月,バスケットボールのストップ動作にて右足底部に激痛とポップ音を自覚し,当院スポーツ外来を受診した.右足底,踵骨足底筋膜付着部を中心に,腫脹,圧痛,皮下出血を認めた.MRIで足底筋周囲,付着部,heelpad内へ広がる高信号域が確認され,連続性の途絶を認めた.2週間のシーネ固定と足部トレーニング,体幹下肢機能改善訓練を実施した.受傷後4週で若干の圧痛は残存するものの,歩行可能となった.受傷後8週でジョギングが可能となり,12週でバスケットボールへ復帰した.本症例は保存療法が奏功し,比較的早期復帰が可能であった.

【目的】近年、生活スタイルの変化に伴って調理の簡便化が求められ、冷凍食品や総菜などが数多く販売されている。お弁当用の冷凍食品も多く、なかには自然解凍を提案する商品もあるが、解凍法による成分の違いは明らかになっていない。一方、野菜はビタミンや無機質、食物繊維の供給源として重要な食品であるが、栄養素のなかでもビタミンCは、調理中の損失が大きいことが報告されている。本研究では代表的な野菜の一つであるホウレンソウに含まれるビタミンC量の加熱と冷凍、および解凍による変化を調べた。【方法】試料には、生鮮野菜として2013年11月に岐阜県産、2013年12月と2014年4月に滋賀県産のホウレンソウを、市販冷凍食品として「ほうれん草3種のおかず」(N社製)をそれぞれ大津市内のスーパーマーケットから購入して用いた。ホウレンソウはゆでた後、醤油を添加して冷凍庫内で2週間冷凍した。解凍は電子レンジ解凍、あるいは20℃で5時間の自然解凍とした。ビタミンCはHPLCによって定量した。【結果】ホウレンソウ中の総ビタミンC量は、試料間でのばらつきが大きく、収穫時期、個体や部位による含有量の違いが大きくみられた。ホウレンソウをゆでると加熱による酸化、分解、水への溶出により総ビタミンC量は大きく減少し、醤油を添加するとさらに減少したが、冷凍による変化はあまりみられなかった。生鮮野菜から調製した冷凍品も、購入した冷凍食品もともに自然解凍よりも電子レンジ解凍の方がビタミンCの残存率が高い傾向が認められた。これは、電子レンジ解凍では内部温度の上昇により酸化酵素が失活するためと考えられ、解凍には電子レンジを用いる方が望ましいと判断した。

We propose an econometric two-stage model for category-level purchase and brand-level purchase which allows simultaneous brand purchase at the same time. The proposed model formulation is consistent with the traditional theory of consumer behavior, and the utility functions remain to be normally distributed. Such modeling approaches have not been found in existing econometric models. The simulation studies show the previously proposed related models can cause severe bias in predicting the future brand choices, while the proposed method can effectively predict them. Additionally in real data analysis, while the existing methods provided the parameter estimation results that were implausible, the proposed method provided the results that were plausible.
