This was conducted to examine the effects of brown seaweed (wakame) on blood pressure and serum biochemical parameters in hypertensive subjects. Of the 37 elderly out-patients with hypertension who started the study, 36 of them completed it. This study was a randomly assigned, case-controlled one. Nineteen patients received a daily dose of 5g of dried wakame powder packed in 12 capsules. Eighteen gender-matched subjects with age difference±2 years, and starting time of participation within±2 weeks, were selected as the control group. Patients visited the clinic every 4 weeks. The observation period was 8 weeks. In the wakame group, the average amount of wakame ingested was 3.3g. The systolic blood pressure (SBP) in this group dropped 13mmHg below the baseline (p<0.01) after 4 weeks, and 8mmHg (p<0.05) after 8 weeks. The diastolic blood pressure (DBP) decreased by 9mmHg (p<0.01) after 4 weeks and by 8mmHg (p<0.05) after 8 weeks. In the control group, no significant changes were seen in either SBP or DBP. However, the differences in reduction in SBP and DBP were significant between the wakame and control groups. Regarding clinical chemistry data, hypercholesterolemia in the wakame group decreased by 8% after 4 weeks. No other abnormal changes were observed in either group. We conclude that wakame has beneficial effects as a supplemental regimen in the treatment of hypertension.

The present study summarized recent findings on roles of leptin and endocannabinoids as modulators of the peripheral components of sweet taste. The positive effect of endocannabinoids on sweet sensitivity was opposed to that of leptin which suppresses sweet sensitivity. Leptin and endocannabinoids, therefore, not only regulate food intake via central nervous systems but also may modulate palatability of foods by altering peripheral sweet taste responses via their cognate receptors. Orexigenic and anorexigenic factors such as endocannnabinoids and leptin may affect energy homeostasis by regulating taste sensitivity.

原子力の社会的受容の促進のためには、全国各地で行われている原子力に関するシンポジウム等の場における議論を有意義なものにする必要がある。そのためには、これまで行われてきている議論の内容を分析し、議論の質に関する評価を行うことが重要である。本研究では、これまでに行われた賛成・反対の対立軸を持つ三つの議論の事例をマクロ分析手法を用いて解析した。その結果として議論を制御するファシリテーションの重要性が示された。

米国産食品用大豆,1975年度産IOMを試料とし,これを40℃, RH75.2%(飽和食塩デシケーター)に約1ケ月貯蔵し,貯蔵中の品質変化並びに豆腐への加工性変化を検討し,次のような結果を得た。<BR>(1) 貯蔵に対する窒素溶解指数(NSI),固形物抽出率が低下し,有機酸,脂肪酸度は増加した。またpHは僅かに酸性側に移行した。<BR>(2) 貯蔵した大豆は浸漬過程で溶出物が増加し,豆乳抽出率が減少し,また豆腐が軟弱になり凝固性が低下した。この凝固性の低下は,主に抽出率減少に伴なう豆乳濃度の低下に起因する。<BR>(3) 貯蔵した大豆蛋白質の溶解度低下は,希アルカリ溶液,メルカプトエタノール溶液で抽出することにより,また抽出を反復することによりほぼ回復した。<BR>(4)貯蔵した大豆の水抽出蛋白質画分にあっては,11S成分に対する7S成分の比率が増加した。

<p> Certains poèmes français de Rainer Maria Rilke (1875–1926), composés vers la fin de sa vie (1923–1926), sont profondément influencés par le haïku japonais, comme le remarque H. Meyer.</p><p> Rilke a fait du haïku, à partir de 1920, à travers la langue française, entre autres par l'intermédiaire de <i>Sages et Poètes d'Asie</i> (P-L. Couchoud, 1919), conservé à la Bibliothèque Nationale suisse de Berne.</p><p> C'est principalement dans le chapitre II de ce livre, «Les Epigrammes lyriques du Japon», que l'on trouve beaucoup d'annotations de sa main. Il a marqué et annoté 36 haïkus sur les 158 traduits en français et les quatre passages de ce chapitre qui expliquent les caractéristiques du haïku. Parmi ces 36 haïkus celui d'Onitsura sur les fleurs porte un astérisque ce qui est exceptionnel.</p><p> Il est intéressant de constater que ces caractéristiques du haïku se manifestent dans le premier poème du cycle «Roses» (1924–26). Le poème XIV et le haïku d'Onitsura semblent se faire écho.</p><p> En outre, dans sa lettre française à S. Giauque (1925) accompagnée de 29 haïkus, Rilke expose l'idée ultime qu'il se fait de la poésie, en donnant sa définition du haïku. Celle-ci consiste à transfigurer «le visible», une chose terrestre fragile, en «l'invisible», grâce à l'écriture concise et inspirée du haïku.</p><p> Enfin, Rilke compose lui-même trois pièces de <Haïkaï>; il en adopte même la structure et l'esprit dans son épitaphe sur d'une rose.</p><p> C'est pourquoi, on ne peut expliquer ses derniers poèmes sans tenir compte de l'influence du haïku.</p>

フィリピン共和国・東ミンドロ州・カラパン市のホテルの一室にて43歳の健康な男性が飲みかけの缶ビールを飲もうとした時に口唇に異物感を覚え吐き出した。缶ビールの注ぎ口に多数のニクバエ科の1齢幼虫を見い出した。幼虫及び室内を飛んでいたニクバエ科の雌成虫を捕獲して精査した結果, ツノアカニクバエSarcophaga ruficornis (Fabricius)であった。本報はビール等の飲みかけのアルコール飲料によっても消化器ハエ症を起こす可能性のあることを指摘する。

平成一一年に始まった司法制度改革は、裁判員裁判制度の創設をはじめ司法制度の全般にかかわる大改革となった。弁護士制度の改革の内容は多岐にわたるが、弁護士懲戒制度はその根幹を維持しつつも、大きな変容をとげた。懲戒手続の第一段階となる綱紀委員会の手続に綱紀審査会を設け法曹でない学識経験者が審査する制度としたこと、従来弁護士のみが委員となっていた綱紀委員会に裁判官、検察官、学識経験者からなる外部委員を加えたこと、懲戒手続開始の時期を綱紀委員化の手続にふしたときとし明確にしたこと、懲戒請求権者の異議申出の制度が明確になったことなどがある。制度改正により弁護士に対する懲戒の制度は透明性を増したとされているが、その後、弁護士の不祥事は減少せず、増加している。特に依頼者から預かった金銭の横領に関する事件は、高齢化した弁護士、経営状態が悪化した弁護士などにより度々に引き起こされている。 弁護士の懲戒制度の位置づけをとらえ直しその制度を実効性のあるものとし、国民の信頼に応えられる弁護士をどのように形成して行くのかを模索する論考である。

Japanese has been described as a&ldquo;<i>naru-language</i>&rdquo;which emphasizes intransitive over transitive expressions. But many areas of the semantic range of <i>naru</i>(become)have not been fully investigated. This paper analyzes and provides a full description of one of these.<br>Although <i>natteiru</i>(having become)literally means a state which has come to exist as a result of change, there are some sentences in Japanese in which it actually describes a simple state. This paper classifies this phenomenon from the viewpoint of the recognition of a perceived state and concludes that the sentences in question explain cause/reason, function, or composition of the perceived state.<br>The basic meaninig of <i>naru</i> denotes the attainment of some sort of state in the real world. This paper regards the meaning of the sentenses concerned as a metaphorical extention from the real world to mentally constructed world predication.
