はんだ付けにおける金属ステアレートなどの金属塩のフラックス作用を,金属の種類を変えて,金属塩とSn-Pb共晶はんだ間の反応がはんだの銅板上におけるぬれに対していかに作用しているかを研究した。その結果,金属塩のフラック作用機構はつぎのとおりであることが明らかにされた。まず,金属塩はSn-Pb溶融共晶はんだ中のスズと反応し,金属およびスズ塩を与える。その生成した金属ははんだ中へ溶解し,その結果はんだが母板上をぬれていくものと思われる。そして金属塩と溶融Sn-Pb共晶はんだとの反応は,金属の酸化還元電位および金属ステアレートの生成標準自由エネルギーに支配されるのではないかと思われる。

Zone settling rates of limestone, coal and kaolin-water slurrieswere investigated using vertical settling cylinders or a centrifuge. Zone settling was divided in dilute and intermediate modes depending on whether or not the aggregates were in contact and formed a network structure, and concentrate mode of intimate contact settling due to compression was followed. Although the higher initial height of slurry brought on the higher settling rate in the intermediate, it was found that in the region of rather lower initial height the settling rate became solely a function ofconcentration.Comparing experimental values with known analytical derivations, Richardson and Zaki's equation modified by Michaels and Roberts' equation were effective for the dilute and the concentrate, respectively. And also, Michaels method of capillary model was impressive for the intermediate in which the settling rate was depended on both of concentration and initial height. It was demonstrated that when the initial height was low enough to correlate the settling rate only with concentration, settling rate of the intermediate was well coincided with predicted rate appling Kynch's theory on the dilute. Zone settling rates of rather wide range of concentration and initial height were able to be summerized as expressed in a figure.If the initial composition is uniform the slurry concentration in centrifuge is independent of radius, but decreases everywhere within the suspension at the same rate with respect to time. Centrifugal settling rate was calculated on the basis of that it was able to be calculated from the settling rate in a gravitational field, field acceleration and slurry concentration accounting for the changingconcentration. Equilibrium thickness of centrifugal sediment waspredicted in the manner which took into account the relationshipbetween compressive pressure and porosity in the sediment. Usingthese values led to good correlation of experimental and calculated sedimentation process in centrifuge over the range of this investigation.

The purpose of this research is to clarify the location characteristics of shrines included in the "Pictorial Record of the Shights in Japan Fukuoka Prefecture" and to acquire basic knowledge about the effective uses of such shrines as local resources. The geographical features and microtopography around the shrines were quantitatively analyzed and the locations were classified into seven categories-cape, seashore plain, inland plain, basin plain, basin highland, mountain periphery, and mountaintop. By analyzing descriptions of local landscapes in the pictorial record, the authors also clarified that shrines located at capes and on mountaintops are appreciated for their views, and that based on these location characteristics, locations commanding a view of the sea can be positioned as local resources.

This paper will explore Forster's concepts of religious meaning and the sacred in A Passage to India. It is generally acknowledged that the three sections of the novel: Mosque, Caves and Temple, stand for the three seasons in India, but they may also indicate conceptions of three systems of religious belief: the Christian/Moslem system that stresses allegorical understanding of opposites, like Good and Evil; the nihilist vision of nothingness and endless, meaningless repetition through time, (non-belief in this case) symbolized by the Marabar Caves; and the creation/destruction and all-embracing mysticism of Hinduism in the final part, Temple, which uses a religious festival to portray and dramatize the Hindu belief system. Forster presents these three belief systems as a way of exploring what it means to believe; he does not favor one system over any other; he may possibly be charting the evolution of religious belief in the individual as well as its development on wider levels of human consciousness. On a more mundane level, Forster takes up the question of the potential for mutual understanding between Indians and Anglo-Indians and appears to conclude that the two cultures were destined to remain divided in understanding each other until some future time of higher consciousness and tolerance. Forster offers gentle and ironic hope for the future in the person of Ralph, Mrs. Moore's son. In fact, Mrs. Moore herself is an embodiment of this hope in the present time of the novel: the sacral nature of creation is reaffirmed by her instinctive intuition; her sense of the sacred is Forster's affirmation that there is meaning in human existence-that the journey each of us makes through life is a journey toward God. In Whitman's words: O my brave soul! O farther sail! O daring joy, but safe! Are they not all the seas of God? Oh Thou transcendent, Nameless, the fibre and the breath, Light of the light, shedding forth universes, thou centre of them, Thou mightier center of the true, the good, the loving, Thou moral, spiritual fountain-affection's source-thou reservoir, (O pensive soul of me-O thirst unsatisfied-waitest not there? Waitest not haply for us somewhere there the Comrade perfect?) 本研究は,“社会的場面で,個人の欲求や意思と現状認知との間でズレが起こった時に,内的基準・外的基準の必要性に応じて自己を主張するもしくは抑制する能力”である社会的自己制御(Social Self-Regulation; SSR)を測定する尺度を開発し,その信頼性・妥当性の検討を行った。研究1では,予備調査で選定された42項目に対して,大学生,高校生673名に回答を求めた。探索的因子分析の結果,SSRは「自己主張」「持続的対処・根気」「感情・欲求抑制」の3下位尺度(計29項目)から構成されることが示された。また,尺度の十分な信頼性と収束・弁別妥当性も確認された。研究2では,脳科学的基盤が仮定された自己制御概念として行動抑制/行動接近システム(BIS/BAS)・実行注意制御(EC)を取り上げ,SSRとの関連を検討した。その結果,先行研究を支持する結果が得られ,構成概念妥当性が確認された。

Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) is an inflammatory disease characterized by extensive arterial wall matrix protein degradation. Cysteine protease cathepsins play a pivotal role in extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling and have been implicated in the development and progression of atherosclerosis-based cardiovascular diseases. An imbalance in expression between cathepsins (such as cathepsins S, K, L, C) and their inhibitor cystatin C may favor proteolysis of ECM in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease such as atherosclerosis, aneurysm formation, restenosis, and neovascularization. New insights into cathepsin functions have been made possible by the generation of knockout mice and by the application of specific inhibitors. Inflammatory cytokines regulate the expression and activities of cathepsins in cultured vascular cells and macrophages. In addition, evaluations of the possibility of cathepsins as a diagnostic tool revealed that the circulating levels of cathepsin S, K, and L, and their endogenous inhibitor cystatin C could be promising biomarkers in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease, aneurysm, adiposity, peripheral arterial disease, and coronary artery calcification. In this review, we summarize the available information regarding the mechanistic contributions of cathepsins to ASCVD.

This paper examines the hard flat stones called Teppeiseki as the roofing material in Suwa district. The stones began to be used on roof in the Edo era to press roofing boards. The roof with boards and the stones varied during the Meiji era and finally changed into the roof with the stones and no boards. Above all the roofing made only of the diamond-shaped Teppeiseki stones prevailed for its good rainproof. The Teppeiseki stones started to cover the roofs of storehouses for cocoon in the 1890's and then spread to houses in the first quarter of the twenty century.

<p>東北大学病院の血液浄化療法部は病院の中央特殊診療部門に属し, 腎臓学, 透析医学, 泌尿器科学をサブスペシャリティとする医師が, 全診療科の血液浄化療法に横断的に関わっている. 診療科の入院患者を対象に透析装置12台, 持続血液濾過透析10台の規模で, 直接の担当医ではないため, 緊急呼び出しは少ない. 結果的に女性医師が育児中も継続可能な環境を提供できる. しかし, 臓器別診療科が高度医療を実践する中で, 血液浄化療法のプロフェッショナルとして認知されるためには, 集中治療医学, 急性血液浄化, アフェレシスなどの領域の知識をもち, 各科の難治性疾患病態, 治療内容を理解し, 適切なタイミングで最適の血液浄化療法はいかなるものかを判断するなど, 常に研鑽が必要である. 「直面する現実の制約を理解する職場」 である必要はあるが, 「女性が働きやすい職場」 で満足することなく, ダイバーシティーを推進する先進的組織を目指す取り組みを考える.</p>
