The Criminal Museum of Meiji University is to place the Inagaki Family Documents of the Toba Clan in Shima Province (present Mie Prefecture) on exhibition. On this occasion, we would like to make some comments on it. The Inagaki Family of the Toba Clan, an original owner of the documents, had begun with the first visit of Akikata Inagaki to Toba from Karasuyama in Shimotsuke Province in Kyohho 10 (1725). Since then, the Family had been succeeded by Akinaka, Nagamochi, Nagatsugu, Nagakata, Nagaaki, Nagayuki, and Nagahiro as a hereditary feudal lord to hold a fief yielding 30, 000 koku. It experienced the abolition of the clan system in Meiji 4 after a reform of the Restoration. The Clan was small, but the geographical position made it a key place in the closing days of the Tokugawa government, when an alarm for international crisis was rung. Toba facing Ise Bay is a strategic point of distribution between Edo and Ohsaka as a port to wait for a favorable wind. Also, the Ise Shrine locates behind Toba. The Criminal Museum has purchased a bunch of these historical documents through a secondhand bookstore, but the details are unknown. Contents of the documents suggest that they had been kept in the hands of the liege lords. Consequently, unlike formal documents of the clan government, we have to point out that the documents can hardly show us the administration or financial situation of the Clan and information about the vassalic people. A book, "Mie Ken Shi (History of Mie Prefecture)", shiryohhen (compilation of data), kinsei 4 (modern times 4), johge (the first and the second volumes), published in 1999, is supposed to be the latest result as historical materials with respect to the Toba Clan. The book is substantial enough in both quality and quantity. It contains historical materials taking broad view of things, not only within the Clan but also nationwide issues, focusing on politics, society, finance in the closing days of the Tokugawa government and in the Meiji Restoration period. According to the comments, the collected documents consist of historical materials held by the whole family and by the districts. In conclusion, the documents concerned is supposed to be helpful for study development covering the deficiencies of other books, using it together with the latest outcome of "Mie Ken Shi (History of Mie Prefecture)" that will be continually published.

In the ordinary and the red meats of "Higan-Buri" (yellowtail, <i>Seriola quinqueradiata</i>, caught in spring), it was found that the yields (%) of cerebrone sulfuric ester (CSE) from the red meat was higher than that from the ordinary one, and the unsaturation of component fatty acids of CSE from the former was higher than that from the latter.<br> In both types of meat, a main sugar of CSE was galactose while a minor one, glucose.

Tooth crown traits of the Hui of Liao-ning province, China, were examined and compared with 23 East Asian populations in order to clarify the anthropological position of the Hui based on Mongoloid dental variation. Plaster models were taken from 81 male and 87 female students, 16 to 19 years of age, of the Hui tribe middle high school in Sheng-yang. Nineteen non-metric traits of tooth crown were classified using the Arizona State University dental anthropolpgical system and counted with the individual count method. The frequencies of 19 traits in the Hui were compared with 23 East Asian populations. On comparing the eight crown traits that indicated high frequencies were Double shoveling (UI1), Canine medial ridge (UC), Lingual cusp variation (LP2), Hypocone (UM2), Carabelli's trait (UM1), Protosylid (LM1), Deflecting wrinkle (LM1) and Cusp 7 (LM1), and low frequencies Winging (UM1^2), Interruption groove (UI2), Tuberculum dentale (UI2), Cannine distal accessory groove (UC), Odontome (UP1), Cusp 5 (UM1), distal trigonid crest (UM1), Cusp 6 (LM1) and Y-groove pattern (LM2). On comparing the eight crown traits that indicated significant differences between Sinodonty which is typical of Northeast Asia, and Sundadonty which is typical of Southeast Asia, the Hui had six Sinodont-like traits : Shoveling, Double-shovel, Carabelli's trait, Cusp 5, Deflective wrinkle and Y-groove pattern, and two Sundadont-like traits : Winging and 4 Cusp. Two major clusters were obtained from a cluster analysis on the Ward method among 23 East Asian populations and the Hui, based 19 crown traits. One was Sinodonty cluster, and the other Sundodonty cluster. The Hui was included in the Sinodonty cluster. The Sinodonty cluster were divided into two subclusters, one was the Han and Japanese group, and the other the Chaoxian and the Man group. The Hui was included in the latter. Furthermore, the multidimensional scaling analysis showed that the Hui was closest to the Chaoxian and the Man, and nearest to Sundadonty as contrasted with typical Sinodonty. Judging from the above analysis, it was proved that the dentition of the Hui was characteristic of both Sinodonty and Sunndadonty, and the Hui was the closest to the Chaoxian and the Man in the East Asian Mongoloid populations.

細胞膜への遺伝子導入のための創発的インパルス応力波に関する理論的な検討を試みた。光エネルギ源は最大ピークエネルギ:200[mJ/pulse],パルス幅:約10[ns],波長:532[nm]のラボ対応型Qスイッチ対応のNd:YAGパルスレーザを使用した場合を想定した。創発的インパルス応力波はレーザ光を透明シート下に接着させた吸熱性表面吸収材料に照射して形成させる場合を考えた。計測された創発的インパルス応力波の時間的プロファウルの構成部分について説明を試みた。

計卵誤差により図形演算プログラムが暴走する問題は 従来から図形処理における大きな未解決課題とされていた.これに対し 従来普通には「非常に接近した図形要素は同一点を占めている」とみなす対策が行われていた.しかしこれはある場合にはかえって暴走の原因となり 対策として不完全であった.本論文ではスペースモデルにより図形のトポロジーを表現し 「どんなに接近した図形要素も たとえ両者の座標値が等しくなっても トポロジカには同一点とは考えない」手法を採り トポロジーに矛盾が起きないようにデータ構造を生成する 新しい対策法と実験結果につき述べる.座標値よりトポロジーを優先したこと 図形の正しさは追及せず トポロジーが矛盾しないことを条件としたこと スペースモデルを使うことで起こり得る形状の種類が限定でき すべての場合の列挙が可能になったこと などが本方式のキーポイントである.スペースモデルによれば 二次元・三次元 注目 局所集合演算 運動図形の衝突検出 等 多彩な機能が平均的にO(1)の対話速度で実現できるが 本方式により本質的に高信頼度が得られ 実用化の基礎を固めることができたと考えられる.
