世界中の低圧配電電圧は,北米や日本などのように約100 V をおもな配電電圧としている国と約200 V を採用しているその他の国の二つに大別される.200 V 配電は,許容電流が同一の電線を使用した場合,100 V 配電に比べ供給電力が高く使用銅量が削減できること,配電時の電力損失が低いことなどのメリットがあり,ヨーロッパ,アジアを中心として多くの国において採用され国際的な配電方式になりつつある.これらのことから,わが国においても低圧配電電圧の200 V 昇圧化が検討されてきたところである.ここでは,日本が将来,200 V 配電方式を採用する場合を想定して,予想される電気安全上の課題を,昇圧が完了している韓国の状況との比較により詳しく紹介する.

プログラミング教育の普及に伴い,プログラミング学習環境の構築や改善への期待が高まっている。企業などにおけるプログラミング研修や,新しいプログラミング教育法を開拓している学校では,プログラミング言語の多様化や高度化,アップデートへの対応が必要である。このためには,少ないヒューマンリソースで,進化の激しいプログラミング技術領域における学習教材・試験の編集・改善ができるシステムが望まれる。本研究では,学校や企業におけるプログラミング教育に用いることのできるシステムとして track というオンラインプログラミング学習・試験配信システムを提案する。 track は複数のプログラミング言語に対応しやすい実行環境や自動採点機能を搭載した,オンラインのプログラミング教材や問題を誰もが柔軟に作成・編集できるシステムである。本論文は track の研究課題と解決手法を記述し,プログラミング教育の新しい手法として提案する。

Phototrophic microbial mats are assemblages of vertically layered microbial populations dominated by photosynthetic microorganisms. In order to elucidate the vertical distribution and diversity of phototrophic microorganisms in a hot spring-associated microbial mat in Nakabusa (Japan), we analyzed the 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequences of the microbial mat separated into five depth horizons, and correlated them with microsensor measurements of O2 and spectral scalar irradiance. A stable core community and high diversity of phototrophic organisms dominated by the filamentous anoxygenic phototrophs, Roseiflexus castenholzii and Chloroflexus aggregans were identified together with the spectral signatures of bacteriochlorophylls (BChls) a and c absorption in all mat layers. In the upper mat layers, a high abundance of cyanobacteria (Thermosynechococcus sp.) correlated with strong spectral signatures of chlorophyll a and phycobiliprotein absorption near the surface in a zone of high O2 concentrations during the day. Deeper mat layers were dominated by uncultured chemotrophic Chlorobi such as the novel putatively sulfate-reducing “Ca. Thermonerobacter sp.”, which showed increasing abundance with depth correlating with low O2 in these layers enabling anaerobic metabolism. Oxygen tolerance and requirements for the novel phototroph “Ca. Chloroanaerofilum sp.” and the uncultured chemotrophic Armatimonadetes member type OS-L detected in Nakabusa hot springs, Japan appeared to differ from previously suggested lifestyles for close relatives identified in hot springs in Yellowstone National Park, USA. The present study identified various microenvironmental gradients and niche differentiation enabling the co-existence of diverse chlorophototrophs in metabolically diverse communities in hot springs.

This study investigated the effects of imagining others on cooperation in a one-shot Prisoner’s Dilemma (PD) game. There are two ways to imagine others’ perspectives: “imagining the other” or considering how the other person feels, and “imagining the self” or projecting oneself onto the other person. Participants were assigned to one of three conditions: a) the imagining-other condition, b) the imagining-self condition, and c) the control condition (thinking about a landscape). Participants played a one-shot PD game and completed the social value orientation (SVO) scale, which measures one’s cooperative tendency. Results showed that the cooperation rate was higher in the imagining-other condition, and participants in the imagining-other condition expected that the partner would cooperate and that the partner thinks they would cooperate. In contrast, in the imagining-self condition, no significant differences were observed about these variables. Furthermore, the cooperation rate increased mediated by two-way expectations in the imagining-others condition, while it was not observed in imagining-self conditions. These results show the importance of imagining others not as a reflection of self, in increasing expectation of mutual cooperation and promoting cooperation.

血液透析治療中に繰り返し発症した宿便性大腸穿孔症例を経験したので,文献的検討を加えて報告する.症例は76歳,女性.慢性腎不全にて血液透析治療を受けている.3年前に宿便性S状結腸穿孔にてHartmann手術を施行されている.今回,突然の腹痛が出現し再入院となった.腹部X線写真および腹部CTで,freeairおよび多数の宿便を認め,宿便性大腸穿孔の再燃と判断し緊急手術を行った.S状結腸に穿孔を認め,その近傍に宿便を認めた.前回のストーマ造設部に新たなストーマを造設してHartmann手術を行った.水分摂取の制限を要した血液透析患者で宿便性大腸穿孔が発症したことを考えると,圧迫壊死という物理的因子以外に便塊表面の粘稠度の充進や腸粘液分泌減少などによって便塊が大腸粘膜へ強固に付着すること,さらに,それに続く大腸壁の局所循環血流障害などが本疾患の発症に関与している可能性がある.

Monitoring mental health has received considerable attention as a countermeasure against the increasing occurrence of mental illness worldwide. However, current monitoring services incur costs because users are required to attach wearable devices or answer questions. To reduce such costs, many studies have used smartphone-based passive sensing technology to capture a user's mental state. This paper reviews those studies from the perspective of machine learning and statistical analysis. Forty-four studies published since 2011 have been reviewed and summarized from three perspectives: designed features, machine learning algorithm, and evaluation method. The features considered include location and mobility, activity, speech, sleep, phone usage, and context features. Tasks are classified as correlation analysis, regression tasks, and classification tasks. The machine learning algorithm used for each task is summarized. Evaluation metrics and cross validation methods are also summarized. For those who are not necessarily machine learning experts, we aim to provide information on typical machine learning framework for smartphone-based mental state estimation. For experts in the field, we hope this review will be a helpful tool to check for potential omissions.

本稿は,イギリスの教員養成改革の実態と課題を教科教員養成,とりわけ地理を事例に報告する.イギリスでは改革により教員養成ルートが分列化し,養成ルートの中心が大学主導型から学校現場主導型に転換した.その結果,教員養成から撤退する大学の発生,教員養成機関としての大学と学校との競合関係の発生,教員養成内容の汎用化・一般化などが問題化している.日本の教員養成改革では,イギリスの教員養成改革がしばしば参照されているが,教科の専門的力量の形成の観点からは,これら問題の発生は看過すべきではない.

Finite difference time domain (FDTD) method has been accelerated on the Cell Broadband Engine (Cell B.E.). However the problem has arisen that speedup is limited by the bandwidth of the main memory on large-scale analysis. As described in this paper, we propose a novel algorithm and implement FDTD using it. We compared the novel algorithm with results obtained using region segmentation, thereby demonstrating that the proposed algorithm has shorter calculation time than that provided by region segmentation.

先進的計算基盤システムシンポジウム SACSIS2009 併設企画として,マルチコアプログラミングコンテスト 「Cell チャレンジ 2009」 を開催した.文字列の編集距離を求める規定課題部門,および各チームが自由に課題を設定できる自由課題部門の 2 部門で行ったところ,のべ 77 チームの参加を集め,盛況に終えることができた.本稿では,Cell チャレンジ 2009 の実施報告を行う.

破傷風は皮膚の創傷部位から芽胞が侵入・発芽し, 神経毒素を産生することで発症する. 一般的には外傷歴と臨床症状から診断するが, 外傷歴の明らかではない症例では, 臨床症状のみで診断しなければならない. 今回, われわれは外傷を伴わない2症例を経験したので報告する. 症例1は両頸部・肩部の痛み, 開口障害を主訴に受診し破傷風1期の診断となり, 治療を行った. 症例2は抗破傷風ヒト免疫グロブリンの使用を治療開始時に拒否したが, 翌日より症状が悪化したため, 翌日に抗破傷風ヒト免疫グロブリンを使用した. 入院5日目より数回の頸部の部分的な硬直性痙攣を起こしたが, 気道確保などは行わず治癒した.
