1980年代以降、世界的に「すし」ブームが広がった。世界でsushiとして想定されているのは、約200年前の江戸・文政年間に誕生した江戸前鮨(握り鮨)である。しかし目下、世界で食べられているのは、主に巻き寿司を中心とした「ロール寿司」や「変わり寿司」である。本稿では寿司の特徴を考察し、日本と世界の連続性の有無を明らかにした。 寿司の特徴を列挙すると、①握り鮨は江戸で生み出されたファストフードであった。②握り鮨の誕生後にマグロが使われるようになった。③握り鮨が全国に広がったのは、終戦直後に委託加工制が導入されたからであった。④戦後の物流と冷凍技術の発達によって、世界中のマグロが取引されるようになり、寿司のグローバル化が進んだ。⑤回転寿司はファストフードとしての特徴を最もよく表わし、グローバル化に貢献した。⑥寿司のグローバル化はフュージョン化を意味し、世界の各地域に合った寿司が生み出された。 食文化は固定的なものではなく、歴史性と地域性によって変化していく。本稿で取り上げた寿司も同様で、グローバル化のなかで多様性をもち、各地域に定着していった。

Double gate IGBT is proposed and confirmed significant reduction of turn-off loss with TCAD simulation. Conventional IGBTs have a problem of large turn-off loss with stored carrier in N-base. The proposed structure declines carrier injection during turn-off by dynamic hole injection decrease with the collector side gate control.

A strange thing happens at the bridge is that in folklore studies it is said that the bridge is not only connected to the opposite shore but also because the Japanese have recognized for many years as a connection between this world and the other world. However, considering the example of Aso Bridge, changes in the population caused by bridges have a major influence on creating a monster. Also, the exchange with new outside due to the bridge being made is also a factor to create a monster.

Most of the Gulf States have been working on strengthening their financial industries in order to develop another sector that would provide an alternative to their oil industry. In this phenomenon Islamic finance has expanded its province in the financial sector, especially in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Islamic financial market grew around 20% on average from 2000 until the global financial crisis in 2008. The Dubai shock attracted massive attention from the world as Islamic financial products were involved. However, the Dubai shock has been overcome by the initiatives of the UAE and Dubai governments. This paper will study how the Dubai shock was overcome by the process of validating the "Dubai Approach", a new dispute resolution system for dealing with disputes related to Islamic finance in Dubai. Accordingly, this paper will examine the progress and effectiveness of the "Dubai Approach".

いわゆる両港両都開港土市延期交渉の為、竹内保徳を正使とする一行が、文久元年~二年 (1862~63) にわたり、欧州六箇国に派遺された。この一行は、それが鎖国のあと最初の欧行であり、かつ当時日本との間に最も外交上問題の多かつた英・仏・露 (樺太定境の目的もある。) へ使することからして、各国事情の偵探が、また大きな目的であつた。組頭柴田剛中の日記によれば、全行程は、(一)、往路、(二)、五箇国巡行、(三)、普仏再渡、(四)、復路に分けられるが、ここでは (一) を紹介する。江戸出発 (十二月二十二日) 後最初の外地香港には、事情探索に一週間の滞在をしているが、これには当時の米国の南北戦争の影響があつた。以後シンガポール (太平天国の乱を探る。) はじめ、英アジア政策上の要点を辿り、エジプト (トルコ領) を経て、マルセーユに到着 (三月五日) しているが、エジプトおよびマルタでは「仏器先後渡」の紛糾が起つた。これ等実際の体験により、一行の国際感覚は大いに高められた。

本稿が試みるのは「SF の社会学」という新たな試みに向けた第一歩である。それは,SF 文学を一種の社会学的テクストとして(あるいは,従来の社会学が苦手としてきたような領域を社会学的な考察の俎上に載せるためのヒントになるようなテクストとして)読むことを提唱する。この目的のために,本稿はアーシュラ・K・ル・グィン(ル=グウィン)の『所有せざる人々』(1974)を「時間の社会学」の観点から詳細に読解し,この作品が社会学における時間に関する議論にどのような新たな視点を付け加えることができるかを検討することで,SF が社会学にどのような貢献をなしうるかを考察する。考察の結果,SF 文学には「時間の社会学」に対して以下のような有効性があることが示唆された。第一に,「異化の文学」としてのSF 文学は,その最良の場合において「他なる時間のあり方」への想像力を喚起する。そこにおいてSF 文学は,物理学や生物学の知見を取り入れることによって「社会的時間」という社会学用語が含意する人間中心主義の独善を免れることが可能なのであり,それによってさまざまな存在レベルの時間を相互に横断し結びつけるような社会理論へと思考を媒介していくことが可能である。第二に,SF 文学は,このような「他なる時間のあり方」をさらに「人間的時間」へと再び差し戻し,翻訳しなおすことによって,人間と「未来」との関わりの有り得べき可能性の探求を可能にしている。そこにおいては現実に対するユートピア的な改変可能性の力を有する「未来」のあり方が示唆される。ここに,「未来」通じて現在を批判的に考察する文学としてのSF 文学の強みがある。

Carefully selected stories can motivate and engage students in the language classroom.Additionally, in the context of Japan where students entering university are unfamiliar with language learning strategies, the integration of strategy instruction within a course could lead to huge learning advancement for students (Tanahashi, 2009). Comprising six story-based units of learning, the proposed course is designed to develop the English Communication skills of upper beginner / lower intermediate level university students. Students will engage in activities geared towards developing their understanding of basic story elements, developing their ability to tell a fictional narrative and a personal narrative, developing language skills, developing their ability to participate in discussion using different discussion skills, and enhancing their interest in extensive reading. Moreover, students will be introduced to six different language learning strategies with the aim of enabling them to develop learner autonomy, integrating self-regulation into their language learning process.

This research note reports the first analysis of how same-sex marriage is framed by stakeholders in Japan, in a larger Japan-Hong Kong comparative project examining how same-sex partnership is advocated or resisted, what the implications are for the heteronormative institution of the marriage and the family, and how same-sex couples negotiate marriage and family norms in their everyday life. The analysis shows that whether arguing for or against same-sex marriage, the state as well as civil society reinforce homonationalistic discourses, albeit in a slightly different manner than observed in the West. Further, there is a tendency for advocates of same-sex marriage to construct marriage as the essence of human existence, leaving little room for a critical examination of a gendered and unequal institution, at least as it is practiced in today’s Japan. All this provides some preliminary support for the claim that the legalization of same-sex marriage might indeed reinforce rather than undermine heteronormativity.
