This article is about American attitude toward white refugees from Saint Domingue during the early years of the Haitian Revolution. It focuses on the charity project taken place in 1793. In the summer of that year, about 15000 refugees rushed into American cities because of the turmoil of the capital of Saint Domingue. This article pays special attention to the surge of interest in "sensiblity" during the 18th century. The term sensibility denoted an innate susceptibility to others' suffering. This article shows how the pitiful state of the refugees appealed to Americans' sensibility. American newspapers at that time depicted the situation of the distressed refugees sentimentally. In result, the slave rebellion which was going on in Saint Domingue was drained of political implications and perceived as a mere tragedy. This transition resulted in three outcomes. First, white Saint Dominguans, who had been blamed for the devastation of Saint Domingue, were suddenly victimized after the summer of 1793 and gained Americans' sympathy. Second, shared compassion and the relief project toward refugees appealed to patriotic sentiment in American society. Third, shared sensibility toward refugees' plight made the federal government assist voluntary associations under public funding, regardless of the French officials' objection. However, sensibility toward the whites' suffering obscured the cause of the slaves who stood up for their freedom in Saint Domingue. Thus, this article offeres a nuanced explanation of the Americans' disregard of the revolutionary meaning of the Haitian Revolution in its early stage.論文Articles

Recently, electrical welfare vehicles driven by two motors employing free casters are widely used by patients and elders. However, as the user is not able to drive the vehicle well on the uneven rough roads, it is necessary to apply a new mechanism to drive on the rough road in order to expand driving area. The skid steer vehicle (SSV) has been used because of its high traveling ability on the rough road. However, the SSV has disadvantage that is, the driving assistance is required because its steering is highly affected by the road condition. The aim of this study is to design a driving assistance system of SSV for patients and elders by using Model Error Compensator (MEC) that suppresses the modeling error. The proposed controller consists of MEC, Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) that reduces sensor noise and system noise, and estimator of on-line cornering power of SSV. The effectiveness of the proposed system using on-line cornering power estimator is confirmed by the outdoor driving experiments. And the improvement of the driving assistance is evaluated by the correlation of the joystick manipulation comparing the paved and the dirt roads.

平成20年の学習指導要領の改定に伴い,体育科の「表現ダンス」領域は小学校1学年から中学校2学年まで男女とも必修となった.また,指導内容が「表現系ダンス」「リズム系ダンス」「フォークダンス」の3つのダンスであることが明確化された.このうち「フォークダンス」教材について,筆者は授業時間数が他のダンスに比べて少ないように感じた.そこで本研究では学校における「フォークダンス」教材の意義について検討を行った.その結果「フォークダンス」は,学習指導要領「総則」をはじめ,「道徳」,「総合の時間」,「特別活動」の目的の一端をも担い得ることが分かった.これは他のダンスでは当てはまらない.このように「フォークダンス」は,学校教育全般にわたって汎用のある教材ともいえる.今後の課題として,教育的効果を高めるために主要なフォークダンスの「由来」「踊り方」「指導方法」「指導目的」「難易度」をわかり易くまとめ,学校現場において,ニーズに合ったフォークダンスを適宜選んで,指導できるような資料・データベースの必要性が示唆された.

本稿では,1971年の参議院における重宗雄三議長の四選出馬断念と河野謙三議長選出をめぐる政治過程が,参議院自民党内の閣僚ポスト配分ルールに対して与えた影響について論じる。重宗の議事運営の手法や人事の私物化には,参議院内部に広範な批判が存在した。河野への議長交替過程は,理想主義的な一部の自民党議員による専横的な議長への挑戦が,同じく参議院改革を目指した野党との提携によって成功したとされてきた。これに対して筆者は,議長交替に至る過程において,参議院三木派が重宗四選反対に回った点に注目する。三木派の行動は,重宗の人格や参議院の理念の問題というより,選挙での脆弱性を抱えた小派閥による閣僚ポスト配分ルール形成の試みとして理解されうる。初入閣時当選回数や派閥別閣僚ポスト配分の分析からは,重宗議長の退任後,参議院自民党における制度化は大きく進展したことが分かる。

The National Museum of Ethnology dispatched staff tonorthern Australia during September and October, 1986 to makean ethnological film record of the Djinang tribe, of Arnhem Land.This article reports on the general process of how this record,especially that of the Maradjiri (Star Ceremony), which wasperformed during the period, was made, edited and released.The whole record was completed as four separate films;① "Maradjiri-Star Ceremony of Arnhem Land" (2 hours20 minutes).Details of Maradjiri. Djinang people adore Venus astheir mythological ancestor, and worship their ancestor's spiritin the ceremony;② "20,000 year-old Rock Paintings of Arnhem Land-Beyond Time" (18 minutes).Paleo—environmental change is examined from rockpaintings in Kakadu National Park. The development of thepaintings and the worldview of Arnhem Land aborigines isanalyzed from these paintings;③ "Bungowa returns to the bush-Way of Life in ArnhemLand" (1 hour 40 minutes).The daily life of contemporary aborigines is presentedthrough a detailed record of the Gamardi Outstation of theDjinang, which was established in 1975; and④ "Talking Spirits-Songs and Dances of Arnhem Land"(60 minutes).Myths regarding "Dreamings" (totems) of the Djinangtribe, which were celebrated by a series of songs and dancesduring the two weeks of Maradjiri, were analyzed through thecontents of songs and dance performances.Mr. Jacky Wunuwun and Mr. Terry Gandadira, fromGamardi Outstation, and Mr. David Bond, of BawinangaAboriginal Cooperation, from Maningrida, were invited to theNational Museum of Ethnology to complete these films and toverify the suitability of the contents for public release.

本研究は,ロンドン2012パラリンピックに出場したブラインドサッカー上位4か国のシュート角度および距離に着目し,各国の違いを明らかにするとともに,日本代表の競技力向上につながる一資料となることを目的とした.シュートエリアの分析では,左サイド31-60°におけるシュートが多いことがわかった(33.8%).シュート位置(距離,角度)では,右サイドよりも左サイドからの攻撃が多いことがわかった.上位国は,左サイドからシュートに至る攻撃スタイルを持っていることが示唆された.これらのことから,ブラインドサッカーではゴール正面からのシュートよりも角度のあるシュートの有用性が示唆された.また,ゴールまでの距離が近いほど枠内の確率が高くなることから,6m以内のシュートの重要性を裏付ける結果であった.

This short essay takes up Huaguang Dadi and Zhaobao Qilang, known as temple guardians, and chiefly examines the idea that the form of some gods has been influenced by others. Huaguang Dadi is also known as Ma Lingguan. During the Ming Dynasty, he was shown with a third eye, he had no beard, and he was known for holding a gold brick in his hand. Wang Lingguan, on the other hand, is enshrined as the Taoist guardian deity, to the extent that it can be considered to “always” exist in Taoist temples, especially those of Quanzhen Jiao’s sect. Both of these gods have a number of common features, including three eyes. For a number of reasons, it can be thought that Wang Lingguan and Guangong respectively succeeded the function of Huaguang (the remaining demon) as temple guardian. Zhaobao Qilang is also given the character of a sea god, and his appearance includes the feature of raising one hand and looking into the distance. Another sea god that similarly looks off into the distance is Qianli Yan. However, that wasn’t the original form of Qianli Yan and his appearance of looking off into the distance might have been due to the influence of Zhaobao Qilang. There is a god named Daxi Sikong in the Nanhai Shenmiao temple of the South Sea God of Guangzhou Province whose image takes on the appearance of looking into the distance as well. Thus, there is the possibility that the form of sea gods looking off into the distance was influenced by other gods that had the same look.

<p>本研究は、テレビアニメ『ラブライブ!サンシャイン!!』の舞台である静岡県沼津市を事例として取り上げたものである。文献調査ならびに現地調査に基づき、これまで十分に考察されてこなかった「巡礼ノート」への記述内容の解析を通して、「聖地巡礼」が当該地域の地域資源の活用ならびに生活の質の向上にどのように寄与しているのかを把握し、地域活性化に資する「聖地巡礼」のあり方を導出することを目的とした。</p><p>; 本研究においては、三の浦総合案内所に設置されている「巡礼ノート」に記述された内容をテキスト化し、それに基づき「聖地巡礼」の展開と特質を分析した。巡礼者は、事例に挙げた物語の追体験を通して、外来者の視点で地域資源の再発見・再認識を行う。また、巡礼者と地域住民との交流により、各種イベントなどが開催されることで、巡礼者の地域ファン化・地域住民の地元愛が高まることが確認された。さらに、巡礼者を類型化することにより、それぞれの類型の特質および傾向の変遷が明らかとなった。</p>

The purpose of this study was to grasp actual state of student's learning on rhythmic dance through balloon method at a junior high school. Subjects was 72 third-year students, who was 34 boys and 38 girls. For analyze conception of students, as method balloon method was used in which students fill out free description, and it was taken after every dance class. This was analyzed from one dance researcher who working at University with ensuring trustworthiness member check was conducted. As a result 1141 description emerged. This result suggest that students accept this rhythmic dance learning as enjoyable fun activities; recognition of many variety of movement and vocabulary for layer movement variation and quality; creation movement and choreography with good cooperation; effect and regarding important on music; good learning way practice-refine-complete-public performance; exchange and co-learning with other persons; effective utilization learning materials witch were movement cards, dance game KinectXbox360 and tablet video recorder; several difficulty for learning. The limitation of this study was subject number and better study would be with analyzed with interviews.

This paper will try to elucidate the major impact that the family registration law had on Korean society by examining how Japan introduced and revised the law. As part of its colonial rule of the Korean peninsula, Japan enacted this law in 1909 to grasp information on the Korean residents so that it could carry out the policing of the colony more effectively. The law was revised in 1915. Japan’s political intention behind the law will also be investigated. To strengthen its ability to maintain order in Korea without causing a strong local backlash, Japan incorporated many aspects of the colony’s indigenous customs into the law. Yet when it was amended six years later, other elements of the traditional Korean traits that afe characterized by those kin-centered values-which disdain or even exclude people who are not related by blood-were included to a considerable degree. As a result, these custom-which until then I(oreans had not necessarily been very conscious of-came to be clearly recognized by them as‘‘original”ones. After it gained independence from Japan, Korea further developed this notion of kindred as a unique national characteristic. Consequently, Japan’s intervention during the colonial period became aturning point for the shaping of a modern Korean social institution: enactment and revision of the family registration law played a key role in inducing the Korean nation to choose a particular type of family system which may otherwise well have taken many different forms.
