Downton Abbey , a British TV drama that is immensely popular at home, has fascinated a large number of viewers worldwide. In this paper, I would like to stress the function of 'Downton Abbey'as an estate. In a glance, the system that maintained the society within the estate seemed to last forever. However, the arrival of the Edwardian Era, whether to the upper or to the lower class of the house, was unavoidable. The point is whether the estate 'Downton Abbey' was able to embrace the new values that dominated the whole society at the early Edwardian Era and whether the house successfully changed itself for the future. Those concerns suggest the fate of English society then was at crisis. In this paper, the function and representation of 'Downton Abbey' is mainly focused, with a discussion of 'Englishness', which is also an important theme to this paper.

In this article consideration is given to the Kobe case, which was brought about by a fourteen-year-old boy A in May 1997. Why did he have to murder a girl of ten and a boy of eleven, and especially, why did he kill the boy in a cruel way? The cause was probably A's fear of abnormality of his own, and his mother's fear of abnormality itself might contribute to her son's commitment of the cruel murder.

The purpose of this study is to explore the conduct of Japanese folk dance in physical education, on the image through audio-visual aids, videotapes. One of them is "Soran-bushi", the other is "Hanagasa-ondo" by several productions. The subjects of this study are 118 university students. The results of this study are as follows: 1. They are tend to have heavy, dark, irregular, tender, strong and difficult image from the words "Japanese Folk Dance". 2. Though "Soran-bushi" and "Hanagasa-ondo" belong to the same Japanese folk dance, the images from each of them are diffrerent becouse of the specific characeristics of a region and a way of life. 3. Though the same number "Soran-bushi", the different arrange of music give birth to the different coreograghy and the different image. 4. The newer the videotape, the more beautiful, light, strong, difficult and large the image. Because of the change of the image of Japanese folk dance through audio-visual aids, videotapes, we can organize the new knowledge for Japanese folk dance in physical education. And to the folklore and the recreat of Japanese folk dance we must explore into teaching material agreeable to the learners' rhythm of the age.

「黒河流域における地空相互作用における日中共同研究」HEIFE プロジェクトの一環として中国・平凉での半乾燥地域に発達する夏の雲の降水機構の研究を行った。ビデオゾンデによる降水粒子の映像、レーダ、ゾンデ上昇速度、地上電場の測定から雲内での降水粒子の成長過程について解析を行った。この地域においては降水機構の全く異なる2つの降水雲システムが観測された。1つは電気的に活発な霰形成が主な雄大積乱雲で他は梅雨前線に伴う雪片形成で雨を降らす層状雲である。Hobbsの主張する "Generation Cell" の降水への役割については、本地域に現れた梅雨前線帯の層状雲では当てはまらないようである。

本研究は,タイヤシュレッズを(1)ジオネットで補強した水平地盤として適用した場合,(2)壁体のない盛土地盤((1)片側補強と(2)両側補強)として使用した場合を想定して行った小型支持力模型試験(変位制御)を行った結果とその考察結果を報告したものである.本研究の結果,以下のことがわかった.1) タイヤシュレッズのみで構成された水平地盤でも締固めとジオシンセティックス補強を施すことによって支持力の向上につながる.しかし,支持力改善に及ぼす締固め効果に比べると,補強効果は大きくない.ただし,締固めと補強を併用することによって,支持力改善効果が顕著になる.2) 盛土の壁面に土のうを用いた補強を施すことによって締固めたタイヤシュレッズ地盤はより安定する.3) 片側土のう補強盛土地盤に比べると,両側土のう補強盛土地盤では,載荷に伴う土のう部分の水平変位は,締固めの程度に関係なく極めて小さい.よって,この方法によれば,壁体がなくても堅固な盛土の構築が可能であることが示唆される.

尾張犬山は,戦国期から近世前期にかけて形成された城下町である。本稿ではその形成期を4時期に区分して景観復原図を作成し,空間構造の形成過程を検討した。戦国期の犬山城下町は,起源も機能も異なる複数の集落の集合体であった。豊臣期に「竪町型」町割と総構が施工されたが,機能面でも計画の首尾一貫性という点でも不完全な「総郭・竪町型」であった。近世中期にその不備が解消されて「総郭・竪町型」の城下町が完成する。

特殊学級に通う小学2年生のA君(自閉症)との、見通しを持ち、A君が安心・納得して行動の切り替え がスムーズにできることを目指した取り組みについて述べたものである。構造化のアイディアを用いて、朝準備ボード、アナログ時計の勉強と合わせたA君個人の時間割ボード、一貫した接し方などの取り組みを行った。この間A君は、朝準備ボードやA君個人の時間割ボードを自分なりの使い方で用い、見通しを持つことができるようになり、行動の切りかえがスムーズにできるようになってきた。ごほうびとして用いた「やったね!」(=クルクルをしてもらえる)は行動の動機付けとなっただけでなく、若生と喜びを共感しあう関係を築いたと思われた。
