We discussed the development of rural planning theory in late Taisho and early Showa period, paying special attention to the framework of rural planning proposed by Nobuyoshi Yamazaki. Yamazaki's proposal had the following features: 1) the rural area was regarded as a unique space, which required its own planning institution, in contraposition to urban area where city planning had been put in place, 2) both vertical and horizontal integration and coordination of rural administrative plans were necessary, in order for such planning institution to work effectively, and 3) proposed framework of rural planning also included the improvement of living environment as one of important areas along with economic development, which, presumably, was the influence of municipal socialism of the western society.

Pryeria sinica larvae were given to the lacertid lizards, Takydromus tachdromoides, in other to determine the protective effect of the conspicuous coloration of the larvae. Pryeria larva was protected perfectly from attacks by the lizards because of peculiarsmelling fluid secreted on the body surface of the larva. Yellow and black body color of Pryeria larva had a meaning as the "warning coloration" at least for a lezard. Characteristics of predatory behavior in Takydromus were analyzed and it was indicated that not only visual cues but also other factor(s) played important role in the process of recognition and choice of preys. Such a system appeared to be considerably defferent from that of birds.

2-アセチル-8-ヒドロキシキノリン-5-スルホン酸 (1) と2, 4-ジアセチル-8-ヒドロキシキノリン-5-スルポソ酸 (2) が新規に合成され, どちらもスルホン酸のナトリウム塩として単離された. 25℃ の水溶液中, 紫外・可視吸収スペクトルの測定により, その酸解離定数とCa (II), Mg (II) との錯形成を調べた. フェノール部分のpK<SUB>a</SUB> (イオン強度0.1) は1が7.81, 2は7.45であり, 環窒素のpK<SUB>a</SUB> (Hammettの酸度関数を使用) は1が-0.31, 2は-1.40であった. 1:1錯体の生成定数 (イオン強度0.1) の対数は1-Ca (II) は3.87, 1-Mg (II) は1.48, 2-Ca (II) は3.60, 2-Mg (II) は1.42であった. ここでCa (II) は1, 2の吸収極大波長の位置を明確に長波長側に移動させるのに対し, Mg (II) は全く移動させない. 以上から, Mg(II)-1, 2錯体は水溶液中キレート構造を形成していない; 1, 2はMgに対して弱い単座配位子として作用していると推定した.

本研究の目的は, 行事場面における保育者の行動特性を組織的観察法を用いて明らかにすることにあった。結果から, 次の3点が明らかとなった。(1)自由遊び場面に比較して, 行事場面では保育者の働きかけは「支配的」になりやすく, 幼児の「依存的」な反応も多くなる。(2)保育形態として設定保育を取り入れている園は, 自由保育を取り入れている園よりも行事場面ではより「支配的」になりやすい。(3)行事場面にも, 幼児の創意工夫が生かされるような保育者の配慮があれば幼児の自立性が出てくるので, 行事の内容及び進め方を工夫する必要がある。行事の教育的意義を保育に生かすために, 親との提携は必要不可欠である。そのため親の行事に対する考え方を明らかにすることは, 従来の幼稚園・保育所主導の行事を再考するうえで有効であると考えられる。今後, この点を実証的に検討していく予定である。The purpose of this study was to analyze the mutual interactions between teachers and children in annual events activities of nursery school (y#ochien) comparing with play activities.A systematic observation method was adopted in this research. The authors especially devised two kinds of observation categories to check (1) active behaviors of a teacher on young children, (2) responsive behaviors of the teacher to their active behaviors. Annual events, including with "the short trip", "Onigiri (rice ball) party", "Mochitsuki (rice-cake making)", "Yakiimo (baked sweet potatoes)", and "presentation of singing songs, dancing, and operetta. etc.", were conducted to observe the behaviors of the teacher and children.The following are the main results;1. Compared with play activities, the teacher's behaviors were inclined to directive in events activities. In some events activities that had less strict in schedule, the teachers behaviors were inclined to supportive.2. Supportive behaviors of teacher, such as praise, suggestion, approval, etc, fostered the independent, supportive behaviors and active interactions among children in events activities.3. Some modifications of the content of events activities, such as less restricted environment and more freedom in schedule, will draw out and develop children's independent and spontaneous behaviors.

ロボットの外観やインタラクションを主観評価によってデザインすることで,ロボットをよりユーザの嗜好に合わせることができる.その際に,評価軸に対応するすべての実ロボットを製作して評価することは現実的ではない.本稿では,「ロボットを主観評価する際にロボットの体はどこまで必要なのか」について,外観やインタラクションなどの評価軸との関係を議論する.

RT Middleware is useful as a framework for a robot's productivity drive. However, in advancing spread and promotion, subjects occur. They are the difficulty of introduction of technological know-hows of RT Middleware, and the little of those who can develop corresponding software. Then, we thought that we would enable it to treat RT Middleware on the Android framework who has spread widely all over the world quickly. Therefore, we developed "RTM on Android", a RT-Middleware for the Android platform. By using our "RTM on Android", you are able to develop application-RT-Components for Android easily, now.

Jacques Derrida, a philosopher known for "deconstruction" is said to have made an "ethical turn" after the 1980s. The very declaration of "Deconstruction is Justice" in even the "Force of Law" (1994), was a significant event that clearly illustrated an "ethical turn". At around the same period in time, while Derrida argued against the philosophy of Heidegger in "Of Spirit" (1987), following the "ethical turn", he discusses the term "Geist", a keyword he utilizes in referring to ghostly apparitions which also suggests "spirit". This study disputes the potentials verses the risks of the "ethics" that Derrida presents, in comparing the "Force of Law" and "Of Spirit".

A major goal of peach breeding programs in Japan is to develop cultivars with lower chilling requirements than the leading cultivars. Low-chill cultivars can be grown in subtropical as well as temperate regions. We investigated the chilling requirements (chill units; CU), heat requirements (growing degree hours; GDH), and blooming dates of 7 leading Japanese peach cultivars, 3 subtropical low-chill cultivars, and a promising new selection, Momo Tsukuba 127. In general, the CU of the 7 leading cultivars were higher than those of the 3 subtropical cultivars and Momo Tsukuba 127. The chilling and heat requirements were determined for the 3 leading high-chill cultivars (‘Akatsuki’, ‘Hikawahakuhou’, and ‘Kawanakajimahakutou’), the low-chill cultivar ‘Okinawa 1’, and Momo Tsukuba 127 during 4 seasons at a single location. The CU for ‘Okinawa 1’ and Momo Tsukuba 127 were significantly lower than those of the three high-chill cultivars. Because Momo Tsukuba 127 had lower chilling requirements than the 7 leading peach cultivars but higher chilling requirements than the subtropical cultivars, we classified this new selection as a mid-chill variety. We used the CU and GDH, along with local temperature data, to estimate the blooming dates of 4 cultivars and the new selection during 11 seasons at one location. Regression analyses showed high correlations between the calculated and actual blooming dates. We also compared calculated and actual blooming dates for the 3 leading cultivars and Momo Tsukuba 127 at between17 and 21 locations per genotype. A total of 25 locations were used, and these were widely spread over the temperate zones of Japan. The correlations between the calculated and actual blooming dates were close to 1:1. Our results indicated that our CU and GDH values, along with actual temperature data, could be used to reliably estimate the blooming dates of the genotypes. Because of its lower chilling requirements, the new selection, Momo Tsukuba 127, bloomed 7 or more days earlier than the leading peach cultivars in this study.

On 1 June 2004,a shocking incident took place in Sasebo city,Nagasaki prefecture. A sixth-grade girl slashed her classmate's throst with a knife during the school lunch break. In nagasaki city,in the same prefecture,a similar terrible incident had taken place in July 2003. Then,a seventh-grade male student killed a four-year-old boy by pushing him from the roof of a building. Shince this incident,authorities have been putting all their efforts into the concept of "the education of the mind" to teach the importance of life. They call the teaching "KoKoroneKKo,"(alluding to the roots of a child's development as a psychologically heaalthy person). It involves such activities as reading ten minutes at home,and greeting and talking to people. Nevertheless,why does this kind of incident take plase with such frequency? It is natural that concern for these incidents is increasing throughout Japan. When we examine the crisis management of the institutions and schools concerned after these incidents occur,we cannot but have many questions about the importance of "education of mind" teaching and the institutions' attitudes toward children. Based on field research in the development of crisis management by educational authorities and in schools,this paper analyzes and ponders the problem. As a result,several educational challenges have become clear. Such incidents require each individual teacher,each school and each authority to establish rigid crisis management systems independent of personal views. However,this resarch has made it clear that none of the above parties sees the situation from the "children's standpoint" at all. Consequently,in the educational field,they forcefully implement their own policies based on subjective ideas while failing to pay any attention to children's actual conditions,to theories of childhood growth,or theories of emotional development. They fall back on the excuse of following a manual and implementing management and review processes. Consequently,the schools and authorities have become indifferent to the emotions of each individual child,and are interested in a practical approach,putting exclusive emphasis on the teachers' "ability to instruct" and "ability to manage." Despite the "KoKoroneKKo" movement into which they poured all their energies,a basic relationship of trust with full confidence is rarely established between children and teachers. In a sense,we have to admit that this is an inevitable result. What is education? We have to go back to basics. Those who are supposed to educate children have an ambiguous understanding of the meaning of "education of the mind" and "education for life", and they do not understand what these expressions really mean. Consequently,it is in fact adults who require education. In addition,this paper points out and addresses problems concerned with fundamental research questions and urgent challenges with respect to the Internet and children's development.
