To evaluate the effects of comfort in a hypnagogic posture on sleep feelings estimated by standardized OSA sleep inventory MA version and sleep quality measured by actigraph, eighteen healthy subjects (8 males, 10 females), aged 61-65, were recorded, sleeping in their homes for 15 consecutive nights under two crossover designed conditions from Friday. A subject slept for 7 consecutive nights (4 adaptation nights and 3 nights for analysis) on a relatively comfortable mattress first and then for 8 consecutive nights (4 adaptation nights, 3 nights for analysis and excluded last night) on a relatively uncomfortable mattress. The results showed the sleep on a relatively comfortable mattress indicated better sleep quality and feelings.

日本語教育では、日本語の/u/ を非円唇母音[ɯ] としていることが多い。一方、先行研究では円唇母音[u] の存在が指摘されている。本研究では、日本語母語話者が/u/ を円唇母音[u] と発話する要因を解明するため、実験を行い、言語外的要因、及び言語内的要因を探った。その結果、/u/ の含まれる音節にアクセント核がある場合、また/u/ の直前に半母音/j/ がある場合に円唇母音[u] と発話される率が高まることが確認された。また、発話スタイルが[u] の生起率に影響を与えることも明らかになった。

Two male cats were presented with penile part of urethra injury due to dog attacks to the perineum and genitalia area. Chronic wound around a remained penile part of urethra due to the dog bite and perineal area was evident due to urine irritation. The buccal mucosa was harvested and subsequently placed on the granulation tissue of the wound to reconstruct the urinary passage. The buccal mucosal graft completely attached to the skin and urethra without any complications. From the follow-up at 3 months, the cats were able to urinate normally and the skin irritation from urine was resolved. In summary, the buccal mucosa is a good graft source and is suitable for the reconstruction of the urinary passage in severe and complicated cases of penile part of urethra injury in male cats.

Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in blood is measured using the Japanese Society of Clinical Chemistry (JSCC) method in Japan and the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC) method in other countries. In human clinical practice, the IFCC method replaced the JSCC method due to international standardization. Moreover, veterinary LDH measurement will also eventually shift to the IFCC method. However, the relationship between the IFCC and JSCC methods for LDH in various animals and whether they can be equated or not have not yet been investigated. This study aimed to present the changes in measurements in canines and felines after switching to the IFCC method. The plasma LDH activity of canines (N=177) and felines (N=115), who visited a secondary care veterinary clinic, was measured using the JSCC and IFCC methods. The IFCC/JSCC ratio was <1.0 in 85% of canines and 88% of felines, indicating that the IFCC method tended to show lower values than the JSCC method, presumably because LDH5 is dominant among the LDH isozymes in canines and felines. The increase in the systematic errors of both assays was in the high value range, with some samples exceeding the error tolerance from near the upper end of the reference range. When switching to the IFCC method for LDH measurement in canines and felines, each institution should consider whether the reference range and clinical diagnostic values established by the JSCC method are appropriate for continued use.

われわれは最近,膵炎に起因すると思われる脾静脈血栓症を伴ったDouble pylorusの1手術例を経験したので報告した. 症例は41歳の男性で,長年の飲酒歴を有する. 28歳頃より左季肋部から背部の疼痛をくり返し,昭和57年5月9日,下血および心窩部痛を主訴に当院内科に入院した.胃X線検査,胃内視鏡検査,選択的腹腔動脈造影など諸検査の結果,脾静脈血栓症による左側門脈圧亢進症,糖尿病,難治性胃潰瘍, Double pylorusの診断にいたり,胃潰瘍に対する内科的治療が無効のため,昭和57年9月8日開腹手術を施行した.手術所見では術前診断に加えて慢性膵炎の所見を認めた.脾剔を行い,また胃切除に際し,冠状静脈を損傷したため胃全剔を施行した.切除胃の病理組織学的検索によると, Pseudopylorusの部位では粘膜筋板の消失,筋層の断裂,円形細胞浸潤,強い浮腫と線維化がみられ,幽門前部の潰瘍が十二指腸球部に穿通してDouble pylorusが形成されたと考えられた. 本症例では, 1) 膵炎, 2) 膵炎由来の脾静脈血栓症による左側門脈圧亢進症, 3) 膵炎由来と思われる糖尿病,の3者が胃潰瘍の発生,増悪,難治性に重要な影響をおよぼしたと推測され,この因果関係を中心に若干の考察を加えた.

In comparison with other languages,the Japanese language has clear sexual distinction in its words.Sexual distinction is especially outstanding in personal pronouns,such as boku and atashi, and in the end of a sentence, such as ze, zo and wa In recent years, sexual distinction in words has decreased. This is partly because women's language has changed a lot. In this thesis, by using questionnaires, I researched the actual conditions and awareness of college students in order to investigate the decrease in sexual distinction in women's language. As a result, we can see there is clear sexual distinction in the first personal pronouns, but in the second personal pronouns we can see women intentionally use men's language. In addition, in the end of a sentence, women also use men's language and the usage rate exceeds 50% in some words.This research showed that women use those words knowing they are men's language. Therefore, among the young people, the decrease in sexual distinction of language has emerged. It is because women have come to think that men's language is friendly and active. The images of ideal women have changed. Nowadays,women are not slaves of convention which forces them to be careful in their choice of words such as women's language and men's language,but they can select effective words according to circumstances.

本研究ではオンライン掲示板でのコミュニケーションにおいて,ファシリテーション的介入が参加者に及ぼす影響を実験的に検討した.「深海には,絶滅したと思われている古代の生物の子孫がまだ生き残っている」「銀河系内には地球と同じような生命を持つ惑星が存在する」という科学的な内容に関連する二つのトピックを設定し,ファシリテーションの有無を条件として実験参加者に議論をさせた(ランダム化比較試験).ファシリテーター役は毎日,その日の議論を整理するなどの介入を行った.実験の結果,ファシリテーションありの掲示板ではなしの掲示板と比較して参加者の攻撃的なコメントや集団極性化が抑制され,批判的思考態度が向上した.オンライン掲示板におけるファシリテーションの有効性が示唆された.
