The relationship between age and growth of the ribbon fish, <i>Trichiurus lepturus </i> L_INNE, which is most common among the bottom fishes in the Kii Channel in recent yearss, have been studied. The study was based on 3, 739 specimens of otoliths and asize composition analysis of 10, 591 specimens from randomly sampled fish, caught by small type trawlers between April, 1972 and August, 1974.<br> The results are summarized as follows:<br> 1) Ribbon fish schools in the Kii Channel usually consist of fishes from two broods, the spring-born and the autumn-born.<br> 2) The annual ring marks on otolith are formed in the spawning season in spring from April to June<br> 3) Hence the radius of the first ring (<i>r</i>₁) in the autumn-born group are smaller than that of the spring-born group. Thus, by the size of the first ring radius, the ribbon fish schools are divided into two groups of spring-born (<i>r</i>₁&ge;2.3mm) and au-tumn-born (<i>r</i>₁<2.3mm).<br> 4) The growth equation for spring-born group is estimated as follows;<i>BL</i>₁=568.3{1-exp[-0.261(<i>t</i>+0.6435)]}<br> Because of inadequate number of specimens for the autumn-born group, the growth equation is not estimated here.<br> 5) The calculated values of body length from thsi equation are larger by one age than those body lengths discribed in the former studies.

<p>The reverse of the Uruk Prophecy (W 22307/7) predicts a series of unnamed kings and highlights the removal and the later return of "the protective goddess of Uruk." It is widely accepted that the second king, who will remove the goddess, and the next-to-last one, who will return her, should be identified with Nabu-šuma-iškun and Nebuchadnezzar II respectively, on the basis of other historical sources. There is, however, no consensus about the identification of the kings in between. When addressing this issue, the question of how to interpret the repetition sign KIMIN, which is written five times in line 8, must first be resolved, because on it depends the answer to the question of how many kings are mentioned on the reverse.</p><p>   Given that the surviving exemplar of the text is presumed to date to the Achaemenid period, this article proposes the following hypotheses: (1) The fivefold KIMIN indicates a succession of five kings, and so the reverse of the text refers to eleven kings in total ; (2) the fivefold KIMIN was not in the original text, but the result of an Achaemenid alteration ; (3) the copyist re-identified king 2 with Nabonidus, who gathered the statues of Babylonian deities, including Ištar of Uruk, to Babylon ; and (4) the copyist replaced the repetition of the same phrase describing a reign of a wicked king with a sequence of the iterative sign KIMIN and changed (probably reduced) the number of reigns by adjusting that of KIMIN in order that kings 3-9 would be identified with Cyrus II, Cambyses II, Darius I, Xerxes I, Artaxerxes I, Darius II and Artaxerxes II. Thus, the successor to Artaxerxes II (i.e. king 10) would be the one who would arise in Uruk and restore the city as well as its goddess. If these hypotheses are correct, the Uruk Prophecy was updated during Artaxerxes II's reign to foretell that soon the Achaemenid domination would end and a native Urukaean dynasty be founded.</p>

<p> 交通事故における死亡慰謝料は金額で表示されるが,被害者の被った精神的・肉体的苦痛というのはもともと金銭で評価できるものではない。そこで実際には裁判所がその額を決定しているのだが,それがどのような根拠で算定されたかは不分明のままである。しかし損害賠償金は公平かつ適正なものでなければならないのだから,慰謝料額の背後には何らかの論理があってしかるべきだろう。</p><p> 本稿では被害者が死亡した交通事故についての過去の判例(44年間に亘る1962例)を資料として,それらに統計学的な方法,とりわけ回帰分析を適用することで,慰謝料の「計量分析」を試みる。それによって,交通事故の損害賠償ではその重点が逸失利益から慰謝料に徐々に移って来たこと,慰謝料の額が平準化してきたこと,その決定要因が規則性を持ち始め,とりわけ近時では加害者の言動や責任の度合いが重要な決定要因となっていること,等が示される。</p>

本論の目的は,同業態競合店舗の多い市場に出店する「競争的出店」,自社店舗の多い市場に出店する「ドミナント出店」という対照的な2種の出店行動に注目し,チェーン小売企業がいずれの戦略を採用するのか,なぜその選択が同業態企業間で異なるのかを,理論的・実証的に説明することである。そこで,延期-投機モデルに依拠して,チェーン小売企業の出店行動は企業固有の在庫調整能力に依存するという理論仮説を導出し,GMSチェーン13社204店舗を対象に実証分析を行った。その結果,①在庫調整能力の低い企業は,競争的出店を避け,ドミナント出店を選択する一方で,②在庫調整能力の高い企業の出店行動は,企業の規模と収益性に条件づけられており,③規模が小さい高回転型企業は競争的出店を避ける一方で,収益性が高い高回転型企業はドミナント出店を避ける傾向を持つことが見出された。

我々は,鳴禽類の研究ではセキセイインコを被験体として音声コミュニケーション行動を神経行動学的アプローチで解析し,魚類の研究ではキンギョを被験体として視覚性振動刺激の認知について検討した。インコを被験体とした研究では,雌のインコを防音箱の中に入れ,同種の雄のSong(さえずり)を聞かせ、最初期発現遺伝子Zenkの産生物であるZENKタンパク質(ZENK)の発現を指標として,認知的な情報処理を行っている脳の部位を検討した。初年度の研究では,高次聴覚関連野(neostriatum caudale pars medialis ; NCM)のニューロンが,song(言語性音声)認知に関与していることを明らかにした。また,刺激Songの複雑度が増すにつれて、NCMにおけるZENK発現細胞数が増加した。次年度以降の研究では,この様な関連核としてNILが,また前脳部分ではfield L1,field L3,caudomedial neostriatumが関与していることを明らかにした。キンギョを被験体とした研究では,当初の予定とは異なり,聴覚性振動刺激の認知機構を調べるにあたり,聴覚刺激のみを使用するのではなく視覚的刺激を併用する形で認知機構を検討することが振動性刺激認知の解明に有用であることが分かってきたので,視覚性振動刺激として白黒縞模様を用い,その認知機構の解明を先に行うこととした。その結果,水平あるいは垂直方向の傾向情報の弁別が可能であることが分かった。さらに,この傾向情報からの偏角情報(傾角情報)をも認知情報として弁別方略に使用していることが明らかとなった。ただし,この傾角情報の弁別では,傾角が大きくなるに従い弁別能が低下していた。傾向と傾角の弁別方略においてどちらの情報を主に使っているかについては,被験体ごとでの一定した認知方略が認められなかった。

The aim of this study was to investigate whether a nutritional intervention motivating increased vegetable consumption would be an effective treatment and diet therapy for patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. We examined 15 patients with this disease (5 men and 10 women). During the 6-month intervention period, all participants received a small amount of vegetables twice a month as a nutritional education tool aimed at increasing vegetable consumption. They also received nutritional counseling and underwent ultrasound and blood biochemical examinations at baseline and 3 and 6 months after initiation of the intervention. Moreover, they were requested to submit dietary records for any 2 days. Green, white, and total vegetable intakes were significantly higher at 3 and 6 months than at baseline in 8 patients. These patients had significantly lower alanine amino­transferase and triglyceride concentrations than those whose vegetable intake did not increase. Additionally, green vegetable intake significantly negatively correlated with weight at 3 and 6 months (r = −0.617, p = 0.032 and r = −0.848, p = 0.008, respectively). These results suggest that our nutritional approach effectively increased vegetable consumption in at least some patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, consequently improving their condition.

ヒッタイト王国は前2千年紀のアナトリア中央を中心に栄えた王国である。前13世紀のヒッタイト王ハットゥシリ3世が作成した『ハットゥシリ3世の弁明』という文書には、王と王妃プドゥヘパの「愛」について述べられる箇所がある。本稿では、この文書において王と王妃の愛が語られる理由を、ヒッタイト語で「愛」と訳される語の用例から考察する。愛にかんする語の用例には、男女の関係としての「愛」と支配者の関係としての「愛」がある。このことを踏まえると、ハットゥシリとプドゥヘパの「愛のある関係」とは、イシュタル神の力で異性として惹かれ合い、夫婦として調和のとれた様子を意味したと理解される。加えて、政治的文脈で使用される用例からは、支配者たちが契約関係を結ぶための法的根拠となる術語であったこともわかる。したがって、『ハットゥシリ3世の弁明』にみられる「愛」とは、愛情をもった夫婦であることを示すと同時に、ハットゥシリ3世が政治的なパートナーとしてプドゥヘパの高い地位を法的に認めるために言及したものと考えられる。The Hittite text known as the Apology of Ḫattušili III (CTH 81) mentions "love" between the king Ḫattušili III and his queen Puduḫepa. This paper reveals the reason their "love" was narrated in the text from an analysis of the usage of Hittite words that indicate "love." Their love, which was granted by the goddess Ištar/Šauška, shows how they were attracted to each other, and in harmony, became husband and wife. In the political context, love between rulers was cited as legal act, therefore in Ḫattušili III and Puduḫepa case, it justifies the couple's binding in a political partnership. Thus, with the inclusion of episodes describing their love, Ḫattušili III might had intended to show the legal recognition of Puduḫepa's high status in the Hittite royal family being almost equal to that of her husband as well as to show that their affection was indeed granted by Ištar.

認知症患者に出現する食行動の問題は,身体合併症の原因となり,在宅介護に破綻をもたらし,病院や施設におけるケアでも問題となる.食行動異常の病態は多彩であるが,筆者らの調査では因子分析によって「食べ過ぎ」「嚥下」「食欲低下」「こだわり」の4因子に類型化することが可能であった.食行動には原因疾患や認知機能障害,BPSD,介護環境,社会文化的側面など多くの要素が関与する.原因疾患だけみてもアルツハイマー病,血管性認知症,前頭側頭型認知症,レビー小体型認知症各々の食行動異常のパターンは異なり,それによって対処も異なる.原因疾患や病態を正確に評価し,それに沿ったマネージメントをする視点が求められる.

This study reveals the characteristics of switched reluctance motors (SRMs) made by blanking (a) 20HX1300 of high grade low-iron-loss silicon steel (0.20mm thickness) and (b) 2605SA1 of amorphous alloy (0.025mm thickness). The blanking of the amorphous alloy is an innovative technology for the mass production of the high efficiency amorphous-alloy-motor. The impact of the processing methods on the magnetic properties are evaluated using the ring cores processed by the following methods: the wire cutting and the blanking. On the other hand, the experiment with the SRMs processed by the blanking evaluates the characteristics depending on the material. As first prototype, 70W-SRM (40mm thickness) is manufactured by blanking 1600 sheets of the amorphous alloy and adhesively laminating them. In the experiment, the motor efficiency of the amorphous-alloy-SRM is improved by 6.9p. t. compared with that of silicon-steel-SRM. In addition, the iron loss of amorphous-alloy-SRM is reduced by 78.7% compared with that of silicon-steel-SRM.

本稿の目的は, 枢密院が自らの組織をどのように 「運用」 し, それらに内閣などがいかに対応してきたのかを, 明治期からの枢密院の憲法解釈と顧問官統制に着目して論じ, 昭和初期に枢密院が 「政治化」 した歴史的背景を考察することである。 本稿は第1に, 昭和初期, 二大政党が議会回避を試み, 枢密院と対立を深めた背景には, 緊急勅令の先例や憲法解釈の曖昧さと二大政党の枢密院に対する戦略の相違が存在したことを指摘した。第2に, 倉富議長・平沼副議長は枢密院の運用にあたり枢密院の権限及び厳格な法令審査を維持し, 職権, 先例を踏まえて意思決定を行ったが, 両者は顧問官統制の失敗により予想外の紛糾を招き, 両者による枢密院の運用が大きく動揺したことを指摘した。 結論として, 昭和初期, 枢密院と政党内閣が対立を深めた背景には, ①枢密院と二大政党の憲法解釈をめぐる攻防の顕在化, ②枢密院内部の統制難, という枢密院内外の問題が存在し, それらが絡み合っていたことを明らかにした。
