Pollination is the crucial initial step that brings together the male and female gametophytes, and occurs at the surface of the stigmatic papilla cell in Arabidopsis thaliana. After pollen recognition, pollen hydration is initiated as a second critical step to activate desiccated mature pollen grains for germination, and thus water transport from pistil to pollen is essential for this process. In this study, we report a novel aquaporin-mediated water transport process in the papilla cell as a control mechanism for pollen hydration. Coupled with a time-series imaging analysis of pollination and a reverse genetic analysis using T-DNA insertion Arabidopsis mutants, we found that two aquaporins, the ER-bound SIP1;1 and the plasma membrane-bound PIP1;2, are key players in water transport from papilla cell to pollen during pollination. In wild type plant, hydration speed reached its maximal value within 5 min after pollination, remained high until 10–15 min. In contrast, sip1;1 and pip1;2 mutants showed no rapid increase of hydration speed, but instead a moderate increase during ∼25 min after pollination. Pollen of sip1;1 and pip1;2 mutants had normal viability without any functional defects for pollination, indicating that decelerated pollen hydration is due to a functional defect on the female side in sip1;1 and pip1;2 mutants. In addition, sip1;1 pip1;2 double knockout mutant showed a similar impairment of pollen hydration to individual single mutants, suggesting that their coordinated regulation is critical for proper water transport, in terms of speed and amount, in the pistil to accomplish successful pollen hydration.

Type-1 diabetes results from cessation of endogenous insulin production. Self-management is essential for patients with type-1 diabetes to prevent secondary organ damage and premature death. Self-management may be inhibited by a vast array of psychosocial factors, and therapy is unlikely to be successful unless these factors are identified and addressed. A pilot study of seven patients from Norfolk in the United Kingdom was undertaken to investigate the psychosocial factors interfering with diabetes self-management. Occupational therapy assessments and interventions were provided in an outpatient clinic. Patients' capacities for diabetes self-management were adversely affected by physical and psychological comorbidities, financial hardship and family responsibilities. Health problems resulting from sub-optimal diabetes self-management included visual impairment, lower limb amputation, erectile dysfunction, hypoglycaemia and diabetic ketoacidosis. A combination of these problems impacted on patients' spiritual lives, interpersonal and intimate relationships, employment prospects, finances and personal power, pleasure and security.

スカラー場の非最小結合はBrans-Dicke(B-D)理論[1]として知られており,アインシュタインの一般相対性理論の拡張の一つとして,その理論的意味が論じられている.ここでは,スカラー場に加えてベクトル場も非最小結合をしている場合,どのような効果が期待できるかを調べた.簡潔なモデルの下でのベクトル場を導入し,ラグランジアン密度から計量,ベクトル,スカラーを変分して0にして各々方程式を導いた.ベクトル場を導入しても,等価原理は成立しており,粒子の測地線の式は変更されない事が分かった.また弱い近似でベクトル場の効果を調べたが,スカラー場とほぼ同じ形で効果が期待される.

本研究では、代理変数を含む回帰モデルにおける推定量の統計的性質と代理変数の質の関係を明らかにし、実証分析へ応用することを目的とした。推定量の理論的分析に関しては、各種縮小推定量を用いて研究を行った。分析結果より、用いる代理変数の質が推定量の統計的性質の評価に影響を与えることが明らかになった。さらに、評価基準である損失関数を考慮すると、用いる損失関数によっても推定量に関する評価が異なることが明らかになった。これら結果より、推定量の統計的性質に着目した場合、代理変数の質が良い場合であってもその代理変数を用いないほうが望ましい場合があり、観測不可能な変数が回帰モデルに含まれる場合には、推定量の評価基準や代理変数の質を考慮した上で推定方法の選択を行うべきであることが明らかになった。これら結果は、論文1にもまとめられている。さらに、今年度はこれら理論分析による結果を考慮した賃金関数の実証分析、および実証分析を行う上でさらに必要となる推定量の理論分析を行っている。実証分析においては、研究対象を大卒男性とし、賃金センサスによるデータを用いている。実証分析を行う際には、得られた推定量の有意性について仮説検定を行う必要がある。しかし、本研究で用いている各種推定量については、その密度関数を理論的に求めることは難しく、仮説検定を行うことが極めて困難である。本研究では、この点にも着目し、推定量の密度関数に関してブートストラップ法を用いた分析を行っている。ブートストラップ法を用いることで、密度関数がわからない推定量についても、有意性の検定を行う際の棄却域を数値計算により求めることが可能であり、本研究や用いている各種推定量をより適切に実証分析に応用することが可能になる。論文1.非対称な損失関数に基づく代理変数の統計的性質、国民経済雑誌2005年

<p>近年,産業用のデジタル出力機器の発展に伴い,出力物を用いた製品のひとつとしてフォトブックが伸びてきている.日本国内の売上数量でも2007年と比較して2015年では約5~6倍程度に伸びており¹⁾,成長が期待される分野であり,出力機器も生産性・画質の向上が成されてきている.特に画質において銀塩写真に遜色ないインクジェットシステムがフォトアルバム向けとして有力な出力機器のひとつとなっており,また,フォトアルバム商材としての品質に密接な関係があるインクジェット用の印刷用紙も様々な進歩を遂げてきている.用紙としては,特に出力機器の生産性に対する技術として,インク受容層の細孔制御・多層化技術,ユーザーの多様な要求に応えるべく,用紙表面の形状,光沢,用紙の厚みや重さの制御技術が進歩を遂げてきた.本稿ではそれらの用紙に対する技術を具体的に述べる.</p>

"Dream page" can produce an original book by registering a digital image of a photograph etc., on a special site, choosing a favorite layout, and editing images and sentences. The concepts "it can do" and "it is possible to make it for everyone easily" were realized by the software available only from our original "Web type application".The rich Internet application (RIA) technology with a friendly user interface has been selected in agreement with the theme. High levels of usability and high quality were achieved because of the adoption of RIA. Further evolution of the photo book service is expected. The method used by major SNSs such as "Facebook" and "mixi" will be expanded and optimized for various smart phone platforms that are expected to see major growth in the future.

The recent corporate scandals were brought to light by whistle-blowing. Whistleblowing is an effective means to obtain a tip-off, but legal measures have to be put in place to prevent the whistle-blower's suffering. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 is a U.S. version of the measure addressed to the window-dressed accounts to jack up the stock prices. Japanese corporate wrongdoings are often the outcome of the cozy relationship among politics, bureaucracy, and industry that is peculiar in Japan. Insider's accusation is effective to expose the injustice, but it should be deemed abnormal if there is no alternative. We want to answer to this problem by way of "Comprehensive Auditing". This scheme is meant for an NPO corporation to act as the auditing principal "providing an auditing firm or company's auditor with information obtained through own investigation and participating together in analyzing and making public after evaluating it from citizens' perspective". This article intends to promote the "disclosure of corporate information and its fair evaluation" in such a unique way and safeguard the interest of corporate stakeholders. The upshot will be a favorable stock market and it will also bring about the revitalization of Japanese economy.

近年、 子供から高齢者まで多くの人がスポーツをするようになってきた。 そのため、 競技スポーツはもとより、 レクリエーションスポーツにおいても安全で快適なスポーツ環境が社会に求められている。 スポーツ分野の鍼灸のテーマも、 (1)スポーツ外傷・障害の治療(2)スポーツ選手の体調管理(3)生活習慣病の予防(4)競技パフォーマンスの向上など多岐にわたっている。 本シンポジウムでは、 スポーツ鍼灸の研究の現状を報告する。 以下はその概要である。 1)円皮鍼は長期合宿中に起きる筋疲労を軽減する。 2)鍼治療は、 高強度の運動によってもたらされる免疫機能の低下を抑制する。 3)低周波鍼通電は、 マウスの廃用性筋萎縮の進行を抑制する。 4)円皮鍼は運動後の急性筋疲労や遅発性筋痛に有効である。 5)M-テストは、 スポーツ外傷の予防とパフォーマンス向上を評価するのに有効である。

テレビ放送技術のこれまでの進展と今後について,オリンピックとの関連に着目しながら述べる.幻となった1940年の東京オリンピックに向けて,オリンピックテレビ放送の実現を目指して中継車など様々な機器が開発された.1964年の東京オリンピックでは,カラーカメラや国際衛星中継技術など一連の国産テレビ機器・技術が開発・実用化された.高精細テレビ「ハイビジョン」は,1988年ソウルオリンピックでの実験放送,1998年長野冬季オリンピックでの機器開発などを経て今日の発展に至っている.現在,超高精細テレビ「8Kスーパーハイビジョン」の本放送を2020年の東京オリンピックで実現すべく,機器開発や体制作りが精力的に進められている.

家に眠る古い写真。1万〜2万円台のスキャナーを使えばデジタル化できる。スマホに入れたりフォトブックに仕立てたり。自分で見る、人に見せる楽しみが膨らむ。 押し入れに何冊も古いアルバムが段ボール箱に入った状態で眠っていないだろうか。昔の写真は、自分が写っているもの以外にも、両親や祖父母の写真などがあり、家族の歴史ともいえる大事な「資産」だ。古い写真をデジタル化すれば、パソコンやスマホで手軽に閲覧できる。

本論文では,少なくとも以下のような内容を含む「所与の文が要求を表現しているか否かを判別するための言語学的知識」を与えた.(1)文レベルでの要求概念の定義,(2)所与の文(特に単文と複文における主節)が要求を表現しているか否かを判別するために必要な言語学的知識,(3)複文の接続節における要求表現に関する言語学的知識.本論文では上記(1)~(3)の内容からなる言語学的知識を「要求文同定論」という.要求文同定論は,様々な産業において要求に携わる技術者・研究者などの助けになるものと期待できる.そのため本論文では特定の産業分野に限定せずに要求文同定論を提供することを目指した.上記(1)については,日本語モダリティ論を手がかりとして要求とは何かについて考察し,文レベルで要求概念を定義した.上記(2)については,1つのまとまった言語学的知識として「要求の態度」を明らかにした.上記(3)については,どの接続節が要求を表現しえて,どの接続節が要求を表現しえないかに関する言語学的知識を明らかにした.また,要求を表現しうる接続節がどのような場合に要求を表現するのかに関する言語学的知識も明らかにした.上記(2)と(3)は所与の文(単文と複文)が要求を表現しているか否かを判別するための豊かな言語学的知識を与える.本論文では要求文同定のための言語処理技術についても言及した.さらに擬似要求文について検討し,「疑似要求文同定論」への発展の可能性を示唆した.
