線形応答理論は非平衡物理におけるひとつの金字塔である.その完成からおよそ50年に渡る非平衡物理の発展を概観する.線形応答理論に絵をいれた60年代,そこから意図的に離れた70年代,もはや忘れてしまった80年代,新たな視点で見直されはじめた90年代を経て,現在そして未来につながる流れを描いてみたい.

TAKEDA Shingen(武田信玄; 1521~73)was a renowned daimy(feudal lord) who governed Kai(甲斐) and Shinano(信濃)Provinces. As well as a military tactician, he was a man of letters. Shingen studied tanka poetry(和歌)because he aspired to hold both the pen and the sword(文武二道). His poem calligraphed on colored paper(色紙)is treasured in the Erin-ji Temple(恵林寺)even now. The poem reads as follows: sasowa-zu wa 誘引ずは kuyashikara-mashi くやしからまし sakura-bana さくら花 sane-kon koro wa 実こんころは yuki no furu tera 雪のふるてらIt is noteworthy that Shingen employed Chinese characters 誘引 and 実 in writingさそふ (to invite) and さね(really)respectively. By so doing, Shingen hinted at allusions to Wakan rei-sh (和漢朗詠集), Genji monogatari (源氏物語), and Ise monogatari (伊勢物語). This paper argues that Shingens tanka poem can be interpreted as a self-praise of his being a master of both the pen and the sword.

Nanometer thin films of Nafion ionomer interfacing with platinum form the functional electrode in many electrochemical devices including fuel cells and electrolyzers. To impart facile proton conduction in Nafion ionomer, sufficient hydration of Nafion ionomer is necessary to create a percolating network of water-filled nanometer sized hydrophilic domains that manifests as macroscopic swelling. This hydration behavior of ionomer thin films is poorly understood especially for films confined on electrochemically relevant Pt substrates. In this work, we present the evolution of hydration-dependent microscopic hydrophilic domains and macroscopic expansion of 55 nm thin Nafion film on a Pt substrate. The cross-correlation among the film macro-expansion from ellipsometry, the micro-expansion from GISAXS, and the water distribution from neutron reflectometry (NR), explains the observed non-affine behavior of the film which can be attributed to the randomly and spatially non-uniform distribution of water domains. A correlation between macroscopic factor (ε/τ) for protonic conductivity, and the domain size and swelling is presented for the first time. In addition, interfacial water between Pt and the ionomer interface estimated at 75% and 84% RH, and increase in domain size with RH, are discussed to explain increased activity and oxygen diffusivity with RH.

三島由紀夫は「海と夕焼」 (昭和三〇年) の主題を「奇蹟自体よりもさらにふしぎな不思議」であると述べた。本論文では<子供十字軍>の史実から本作の虚構性の特質を捉えたうえで、現在の安里が過去に体験した「不思議」をどのように受け止めているのかについて考察した。<海> の象徴性、<夕焼> の終わりとともに「梵鐘の音」が響く結末、<眠る少年> の意味等から、仏教的(禅的)世界の枠組みが「不思議」へのこだわりを消し去るものとして機能していたことを明らかにし、「不思議」の再来を願わないと言いうる境地にいたった三島文学の様相をもとに『金閣寺』 の新たな読解可能性を提示した。

Well-defined silver dendrite nanostructures with primary and secondary branches on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface are first demonstrated using a simple wet chemical electroless deposition method without any aid of a surfactant. The properties of dendrite structures were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Results of XPS and XRD indicated that most of the silver particles were not oxidized. The obtained silver dendrite GCE (Ag/GCE) showed high electrochemical activity towards catalytic oxidation for ascorbic acid (AA). The oxidation process followed a stepwise mechanism at slower scan rates (υ < 0.15 V s^<-1>) and a concerted mechanism at faster scan rates (υ > 0.15 V s^<-1>). The silver nanostructures are highly stable on the GCE surface and could be employed as an anode for an AA fuel cell.

A 23-year-old woman was admitted with complaints of swelling and pain in the left breast, fever, polyarthralgia and erythema nodosum. A fine-needle biopsy of the mass in the left breast revealed non-caseous granulomatous lobulitis. A diagnosis of granulomatous mastitis was thus made. The administration of prednisolone 40 mg/day resulted in the resolution of the patient's symptoms, and the breast mass thereafter decreased in size. The mass relapsed during the subsequent prednisolone taper. Additional therapy with methotrexate resulted in complete remission. Granulomatous mastitis should therefore be included in the differential diagnosis of polyarthralgia.

To what extent do the Japanese recognize the transmission of value consciousness which occurs within the family? Do they recognize the influence of parents' to a greater extent than Americans do? This issue is explored through survey data from a sample of 1764 Japanese and 1500 Americans chosen by a random sampling method in both countries. Factor analysis was used to identify four commonly shared dimensions of value consciousness. The structure of transmission from parents was resulted in one dimension in both countries.Results suggest that the Japanese respondents have a low level of transmission of value consciousness, if any at all, with the main route of transmission being covert (acquired through observation) rather than overt (verbally taught). The American respondents tended to put higher importance on parental influence than did their Japanese counterparts, and showed a higher inclination to influence their children during their educational years.Japanese respondents felt less responsible for transmitting social values to younger generations than did the American respondents. This low level of transmission of value consciousness among the Japanese may have allowed for the difference in the perception of value consciousness between generations, and could also have widened it.

豆腐ゲルの形成においてタンパク質ジスルフィド結合の解裂再会合は重要な役割を果たしている。これまでに蛍光色素標識法を用い、11Sグロブリンのジスルフィド結合とグルコノデルタラクトン凝固充填豆腐の破断応力との相関関係を示した。本研究では、凝固剤として塩化マグネシウムとにがりを使用し、11Sグロブリン変異大豆系統を用いて、ジスルフィド結合蛍光色素標識による豆腐物性予測の可能性を検討した。実験に用いた8系統の大豆のうち6系統で、にがりでの凝固性が高い傾向が認められた。塩化マグネシウム凝固豆腐ではジスルフィド蛍光標識強度と豆腐の破断応力に有意な相関はなかったが、にがり凝固豆腐では11Sグロブリン酸性および塩基性ポリペプチドの蛍光標識強度と豆腐破断応力の間に、相関係数0.83および0.86(P
