This study analyzed the emission trends of greenhouse gases and the measures against global warming in the New Zealand (NZ) agriculture sector. The NZ agriculture sector has the largest impact for greenhouse gas emission in NZ. Especially, methane emissions from enteric fermentation of sheep, dairy cattle, and non-dairy cattle are significant sources. In accordance with the Kyoto Protocol, NZ’s target is to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to the level they were in 1990.Measures against global warming in the NZ agriculture sector include reduction in breeding numbers (short-term) and the cutting of greenhouse gas emission factors for livestock through research and development (long-term). However, it is believed that the short-term reduction measure will have a large impact on farmers, such as agricultural income reduction, and the long-term reduction measure will take considerable time to reduce the effects of greenhouse gases.

In Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights (1847), most of the significant events occur in the kitchens. Heathcliff hears of Catherine's engagement in the kitchen in Wuthering Heights, and Heathcliff quarrels with Edgar in the presence of Catherine in the kitchen in Thrushcross Grange. At the beginning of the story, Lockwood describes the position of the kitchen in Wuthering Heights as follows: "I believe at Wuthering Heights the kitchen is forced to retreat altogether into another quarter" (5). It reveals that the kitchen is separated from the house, which suggests the kitchens are special spaces in the story. At this point, we should not ignore that Nelly Dean, one of the narrators, observes most of the events. She has served as a housekeeper in both Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange. She tells of the past events to Lockwood who is the capricious tenant of Thrushcross Grange. Nelly is not merely the narrator but also an involved person. She sometimes intervenes in the incidents, but she is also an onlooker. A close look at the relationship between the kitchens and Nelly reveals that she intervenes mainly in the incidents that occur in the kitchens. All these things make it clear that Nelly Dean makes use of the kitchens for her own purposes. The purpose of this paper is to consider the meaning of the two kitchens, so that we will discover the connection with Nelly Dean. It also serves as evidence of the close relationship between the characters and the houses in Wuthering Heights.

It is known that serotonin is widely distributed in the body; its receptors are located in various tissues and organs. It has been reported that serotonin receptors without apparent synaptic structure exist in the peripheral nervous system. These serotonin receptors might be the target of circulatory serotonin. In particular, serotonin has a potent depolarizing action on vagal afferent nerves. This stimulation causes various autonomic reflexes, so-called von Bezold-Jarisch reflex, that consist of bradycardia, hypotension and apnea. The peripheral 5-HT3-receptor subtype seems to be responsible for the initiation of these reflexes. The physiological and pathophysiological significance of these serotonin-induced modulations have not, however, been established. The present study was designed to examine the effects of exogenous serotonin on the chemosensitive afferent nerves including carotid sinus nerves, cervical vagus nerve, and efferent motor nerves, such as phrenic nerves and pharyngeal nerves. Because little is known about the involvement of the serotonergic system in the pulmonary reflex and pulmonary-related reflexes (swallowing or vomiting), the distribution of the motor component of these nerves within the brain stem of the rat was also determined.

経管栄養の1日2回投与法は看護業務の改善に繋がるのか、また、経管栄養が安全に行えるのかについて前向きに検討を行った。2008年10月~2010年5月の間に投与回数を1日3回から2回投与へ変更をした療養病棟入院中の患者7例(平均年齢85.0歳)について変更前と変更後における血液検査とBMIについて看護業務の変化については質問紙法による調査を実施した。その結果、BMIは徐々に増加しており4ヵ月後には有意に増加した。血清Alb値に変化はみられず、TC、TG、LDLは変更1ヵ月後に有意に上昇したことから1日2回投与法では定期的に体重測定と血液検査をする必要があると考えられた。一方看護業務については、夜勤帯における看護業務が改善され繁雑性がなくなったことから業務改善に繋がる方法であると考えられた。

システムデザイン工学部デザイン工学科は,プログラミング言語にProcessingを採用した.この言語は,実行結果をグラフィックスで表示でき,お絵描き感覚でプログラミングを学べるように設計されている.さらにインタープリター方式のため,スペルミスなど初学者が陥りやすい誤りを素早く発見できる特徴がある.学力考査は問題をPDFで配布し,できあがったプログラムをファイルサーバで回収し,人海戦術で採点を行って来た.本学のLMSはWebClassが導入されており,授業毎のアンケート調査や,事前学習,事後学習等に活用してきた.2019年度の後期科目であるコンピュータプログラミングⅠの私のクラスで,試験の機能を使い,学力考査を試行した.その結果を述べる.

アワビ類の好適な初期餌料である針型珪藻Cylindrotheca closteriumが,水温20℃,照度1500-2000 Lxで良好に増殖することを明らかにした。加えて,針型珪藻を事業規模での飼育に用いるために,大量培養法と採苗板への付着方法を検討した。本種は付着力が弱く,攪拌培養すれば大量の珪藻細胞を懸濁液として得られる。この懸濁液を採苗板を収容した水槽に添加して,懸濁液中の珪藻の一部を採苗板に付着させた後,付着した一部の珪藻細胞を増殖させることで,板上で本種を優占させることができた。

Folate is a water-soluble vitamin, which is one of vitamin B group, and is involved in DNA synthesis cycle and methylamine cycle. It is known that folate deficiency is associated with pernicious anemia. Folate is also an important nutrient for an embryo, because recent many studies reveal an association between maternal folate status and fetal neural tube defects (NTDs). In 2002, Japanese government recommended that all women planning a pregnancy should consume an additional 400μg/day of supplementary folate to reduce risk of NTDs, referring to scientific evidence and recommendations in the other countries. It is also reported that folate is an important nutrient for not only the prevention of NTDs but also health of mother and fetus. As the prevalence of NTDs was low in Japan compared with other countries in the past, folate status in Japanese has not been fully investigated. Folate has been recently added to the Dietary Reference Intake for Japanese and Standard Table of Food Composition in Japan since 2000.
