This study evaluated the effect of sevoflurane anesthesia on neuromuscular blockade with rocuronium in dogs. Six healthy beagle dogs were anesthetized four times with a minimum 14-day washout period. On each occasion, the dogs were administered 1.25-, 1.5-, 1.75-, or 2.0-fold of the individualized minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) of sevoflurane and received an infusion of rocuronium (0.5 mg/kg followed by 0.2 mg/kg/h) for 120 min. Neuromuscular function was monitored with acceleromyography and train-of-four (TOF) stimulation of the left hind limb. Time to achieve TOF count 0 (onset time), time from the onset of neuromuscular blockade to the reappearance of TOF count 4 (blockade period), and time from the onset of rocuronium infusion to attaining a 70 or 90% TOF ratio (TOFR70 or TOFR90) were recorded. There were no significant differences in the onset time, blockade period, and plasma rocuronium concentration between the sevoflurane MAC multiples. The TOFR70 and TOFR90 were dose-dependently prolonged with the sevoflurane MAC multiples. There were significant differences in the TOFR70 and TOFR90 between the 1.25 sevoflurane MAC (median: 55 and 77.5 min, respectively) and 1.75 sevoflurane MAC (122.0 and 122.6 min; P=0.020 and P=0.020, respectively), 1.25 sevoflurane MAC and 2.0 sevoflurane MAC (126.0 and 131.4 min; P=0.020 and P=0.020), and 1.5 sevoflurane MAC (97.5 and 121.3 min) and 2.0 sevoflurane MAC (P=0.033 and P=0.032). In dogs, sevoflurane anesthesia produced dose-dependent prolongation of recovery from neuromuscular blockade produced by rocuronium.

A steady market extension of the surface modification with the diamond like carbon continues. The application of DLC has been limited to fields such as molds and tools, and the application example of the machine part increases so far, too. In this research, an actual application example with the car product of the DLC coating and the electrical machinery and apparatus, etc. is extracted by the case study, the strategy for the application expansion in the machine part of the DLC coating in the future is examined, and the market growth of the DLC coating in the future is analyzed.

最近,VDT(visual display terminal)作業や長時間の単一作業が原因で,肩凝りや肩腕痛を訴える人が増加している.これらの頸部や肩腕部の頸肩腕障害に対する治療方法の一つとして,入浴や入湯によって患部を温める温浴療法がある.温浴の心・血管系に及ぼす影響についての研究はこれまでにも行われているが,温浴が筋硬度や筋疲労度に与える効果についての研究は見当たらない.そこで,僧帽筋に対する温浴の効果を,筋硬度計で測定した筋硬度と,表面筋電図から得られるmean power frequency (Fm) を指標に用い,13 人の大学生を対象に検討した.湯温を40℃に設定した浴槽に,肩部が全て浸かるように10 分間入浴し,入浴前を対照に,出浴後60 分間にわたって15 分毎に筋硬度と表面筋電図を測定し解析した.全被験者を対象にすると,入浴前の筋硬度とFm の間に相関は認められなかったが,被験者のうちで筋硬度が平均値より高い群では負の相関が認められ,筋の硬さが増すほどFm は低周波化した.Fm は筋疲労に伴って低周波領域にshift(slowing)するので,筋硬度の高い群では筋疲労が相対的に強く起こっていると考えられる.温浴は筋硬度を入浴前に比べて25%も減少させて筋を軟らかくし,出浴後60 分においてもなお6%低値を示した.入浴前後でFm の有意な変化は全被験者対象では認められなかったが,入浴前のFm が平均値より低い群では出浴直後にFm が3%上昇し,出浴後60 分まで高値を維持した. Fm が低い群では温浴により血液循環が促進され蓄積された代謝産物が除去されたことによって筋疲労が改善されたものと推測された.

本稿では、執筆者がカイロ (エジプト) とイスタンブル (トルコ) において 2017 年 8 月に実施したユダヤ教徒とその言語についての調査の概要を示し、それぞれの地域のユダヤ教徒の活動の特徴と今後の調査の可能性について考察する。ユダヤ教徒はカイロには全部で 6 人、イスタンブルには 1万 5 千人から 1 万 8 千人ほど住んでいる。イスタンブルにはユダヤ・スペイン語 (通称ラディノ語) の話者が現在でも一定数住んでいると確認でき、今後の調査の可能性が広がった。

The author perfomed provocative massage 120 times on each palatine tonsil in the cases of chronic tonsillitis and its consequent focal infection (nephritis, polyarthritis and slight fever). The following data proved that the process had much value for diagnosis and prognosis of the disease.<BR>1) Body temperature: Elevation of the body temperature as positive reaction to the massage was remarkable in the cases of slight fever of tonsillar origin, and was observed in 92% of the patients to whom tonsillectomy brought good effects.<BR>2) Erythrocyte sedimentation rate: In the cases of nephritis and polyarthritis of apparently tonsillar origin, the numbers of the patients whose erythrocyte sedimentation rates after an hour of the provocation increased, remained unchanged and decreased respectively were about the same.<BR>About 60% of the cases with good results after tonsillectomy, showed unexpected decrease in the rates of erythrocyte sedimentatiom, and, moreover, 60% of them showed increase in the rates after 6 to 24 hours of the provocation: diphasic variation. The cases with good results after the tonsillectomy among the cases of tonsillogenous slight fever, showed no definite difference between the rates before and after the provocation.<BR>3) The number of leukocytes: Increase in number of leukocytes after the provocation was found in 28% of the cases with chronic tonsillitis, 58% with suspected tonsillar focal infection, and 60% of those to which tonsillectomy was effective. Note that in the cases of foal infcction more than the half showed positive reaction.<BR>4) Serum protein: In 30% of the cases with chronic tonsillitis, and in 60 % of those with suspected tonsillar focal infection, there was high gammer-globulin value after the provoeation. The great majority of the cases with focal infection in which tonsillectomy proved effective showed even higher gammer-globulin value.<BR>5) Serum proein: The cases with increase more than 3 times of urine protein and erythrocyte in urine sediments were accompanied with elavation of body temperature (about 67% of the cases with changed urine findings), leukocytosis, and higher gammer-globulin value then before the maneuver. The cases with good results by tonsillectomy were frequently found in the cases which showed those changes in urine with additional diphasic erythrocyte sedimentation phenomenon.<BR>6) In the cases with positive reaction to the provocation, as the patho-histological changes of tonsillar parenchyma, abscess formation, cystic enlargement of the superior fossa tonsillaris and changes on the vascular wall and cavity were the frequent findings.<BR>7) The author noticed analogous changes to the above mantioned clinical results, experimentally massaging the aseptic abscess prepared in the abdomen of the rabbit after repeated instilment with hemolytic streptococci suspension and its filtrate into the abscess.

Fracture tests of unsaturated polyester resin on large, single-edge notched-bend specimens were conducted under static and dynamic bend tests at room temperature. The velocity of a loading point in the three-point bending was changed from 8.3&times;10<SUP>-6</SUP>mm/s to 7&times;10<SUP>5</SUP> times its value. The two types of fracture marks of the both-ends-closed mark (like ellipses) and the one-end-opened mark (like parabolas) were observed and they were expressed by the equation of fracture marks. A rocket mark, defined here, was also often observed in the dynamic bending test and was well-approximated by the equation. The experimental number, percentage, relative interference appearing distance and the calculated relative critical distance of the marks changed with the crack propagation distance and the testing speed. The velocity of a primary crack propagation was measured and approximated by a mixed-condition relation proposed by us. This change and the gammer-letter relation between the velocity and a dynamic stress intensity factor K<SUB>D</SUB> (or a dynamic strain energy release rate, S<SUB>D</SUB>) gives the latter (K<SUB>D</SUB> or S<SUB>D</SUB>) as a function of the crack propagation distance. This provides a good theoretical explanation of the above variations of fracture marks.

非線形な力学系では、単純な規則から複雑なフラクタル構造をもつ幾何的対象物が生成される。それでは、それを目の前のコンピュータスクリーン上で見ることは可能であるか。これは一見単純そうな問題であるが、奥深い事実が隠されていることを近年の研究は明らかにした。本論文では実力学系、複素力学系、計算理論の基礎を紹介し、複素力学系のジュリア集合の計算可能性と複雑性についての事実をまとめる[17]。
