The layer structured vanadate of Rb_3V_5O_<14> has been prepared using Rb_2CO_3 and V_2O_5 at 500℃. The ion exchange reactions of rubidium ion (Rb^+) in the interlayer space with sodium ion (Na^+), hydrogen ion (H^+) or lithium ion (Li^+) were studied in aqueous solutions. The sodium ion (Na^+) exchange product of Na_<2.00>H_<0.92>Rb_<0.08>V_5O_<14>・3.5H_2O was obtained. The host layers were retained on this ion exchange reaction. In contrast, any of ion exchange product of H^+ or Li^+ was not obtained. The reaction products were characterized by atomic absorption or flame analysis, TG-DTA and XRD.

マイクロ波による無線電力伝送は,宇宙空間で発電しマイクロ波によって地上へ送電する宇宙太陽光発電システム(SSPS)[1]ばかりではなく,SuicaやICOCAに代表される電子タグ(RFID)等の小電力伝送用途への応用でも非常に重要である.RFID等の用途では,人体や周囲環境への影響を配慮し,小電力のマイクロ波で動作する高効率の伝送システムの実現のために,RF-DC変換回路を受電アンテナと一体化したレクテナ[2]の高効率化が望まれる.これまで著者らは,マイクロストリップラインで構成されたレクテナのRF-DC変換回路において,ダイオード実装部のアノード,カソードに接続された線路長によりマイクロ波(RF)-直流(DC)変換効率が変化し,これらを最適化することで63%程度の変換効率が得られることを報告している[3].ダイオードの非線形特性による高調波発生については,スプリアスの抑制やRF-DC変換上のロスという観点では扱われていたが,高調波がレクテナ・RF-DC変換回路の効率に与える影響については論じられてこなかった.本稿では.ダイオードで発生する高調波で最も影響が大きいと考えられる2次高調波が,変換効率に与える影響について実験的に検討し,効率を改善することができたので報告する.

The auther's interests are focused on the necessity of natural spaces in urban areas for restoring and developing of a symbiotic relationship between man and nature. The purposes of this study are as follows: (i) clarifying characteristics of natural space in urban area through comparing with natural space in rural area or man-made space in urban area.(2) clarifying mechanism of degradation of natural space in urban area.(3) proposing appropriate system for maintaining it as recreation space.The results led through these analysises as follows: (i) man tends to forget the favor of nature and their lives, and loses natural spaces.(ii) In surburb area of metro-polis it is efficient to conbine obligation to conserve and inhabitants needs for recreation of natural spaces and be acknowledged sustainable continuation of natural spaces.

In this report,Michael Pressley and Peter Afflerbach(1995) Verbal Protocols of Reading was considered as a fundamental work of the assessment of reading. Pressley and Afflerbach constructed a summary of conscious processes during skilled reading. And they used it to suggest that skilled reading is constructively responsive. They emphasized the importance of much experience which students actually attempt to comprehend and learn from text, selecting and carrying up text processing before the repertoire of responses that skilled reads use becomes habitual. Hence, we must assess the student's ability of selecting and carry up text processing. I pointed out that if we attempted to assess the ability, the summary of conscious processes and a thumbnail sketch of constructively responsive reading constructed by Pressley and Afflerbach would be useful because it will clear up which the student selected and carried up text processing and whether he or she can do so well. And, I concluded that it was important to conduct the valid assessment of reading with use of the summary of conscious pro-cessing and the thumbnail sketch of constructively responsive reading.

A partial cDNA fragment of equine (Thoroughbred) c-ski gene (exon 1) was cloned by means of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification, and its nucleotide sequence was determined. The nucleotide and the deduced amino acid sequences of equine c-ski showed very high homology (>90%) with human and mouse c-ski, suggesting that this gene is highly conserved in different species of mammals. Genomic DNAs from other breeds of horse, e.g., Breton, New Zealand Pony, Shire, Anglo-Arab and Tokara Horse, were also subjected to PCR analysis. No difference, however, was observed in the nucleotide sequences of the partial c-ski DNA fragments examined. The patterns of c-ski gene expression in various male fetal equine tissues, i.e., cerebrum, lung, heart, skeletal muscles etc., obtained on day 180 of pregnancy, were analyzed by means of reverse transcriptase-mediated PCR (RT-PCR). In all the tissues examined, the expression of c-ski genes was confirmed. Northern blot analysis was carried out to assess the relative expression levels of c-ski genes in the male fetal equine tissues. In all tissues examined, two forms of the transcripts were detected at molecular sizes of 7.8 kb and 6 kb, respectively. In the cerebellum and the lung, the relative expression levels were high. The expression levels in skeletal muscles were moderate compared to the other tissues. The small population size of satellite cells may explain the relatively low expression levels of c-ski genes in the well developed skeletal muscles.

筆者等は 従来より三味線音楽をコンピュータ上で扱うための研究を行っており これまでは 基礎研究として 三味線譜のためのデータ形式の研究開発を進めてきた. 現在 このデータ形式は 実装面からのデータ形式に対する検証 ・ 評価を必要とする段階にあり 筆者等はデータ形式に対応するアプリケーションの開発を進めている. 本稿では 今回このアプリケーションに実装した 三味線文化譜の楽譜編集機能について報告する.

超並列計算機の実現,特に,通信レイテンシンの隠蔽や並列性の自然な抽出において優位性を持つマルチスレッド・アーキテクチャでの超並列計算機を考える場合,細粒度・高頻度で非整列なパターンの通信に対する耐性や,通信レイテンシンの短縮について相互結合方式を検討しなければならない.また一方でOSなどの運用面での検討も必要である.本論文では,まずこのような超並列向けの相互結合網の要件を整理し,次に,間接多段網のスイッチを演算ノードに置き換えて得られるサーキュラ・オメガ網の特質に着目し,その定義を一般化することにより直接網のクラスDCE(Directed Cycles Ensemble)を定義する.そして,任意のDCE網の直積を考えることで多次元に拡張できることを示し,これによって得られる結合網のクラスMDCE(Multidimensional DCE extension)を提案する.代表的なDCE網,MDCE網について直径ならびに平均距離の解析を行い,さらに,シュミレーションにより5種類の通信パターンについて動的な転送特性の測定を行った結果,本稿で想定している超並列計算機に適用する場合のMDCE網の優位性が示される.

Four patients with endocardial fibroelastosis were studied by two-dimensional and M-mcde echocardiography. The two-dimensional echocardiography showed the characteristic echo from the abnormally thickened endocardium of the left ventricle in every case. Of the 4 cases, 2 were still suffering from congestive heart failure at the time of the study and the other 2 had been already free from clinical symptoms. In the former group, the ultrasonic findings revealed an enlargement of the left ventricle (large left ventricular dimension index) and poor movement of the anterior mitral leaflet which was indicated by a decrease in the diastolic descent rate. The latter group presented almost normal findings concerning the above points. The ultrasonic method is thus proved to be very useful for the diagnosis and evaluation of clinical conditions in cases of endocardial fibroelastosis.

Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are persistent environmental contaminants. Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) are representatives of PFASs. Recently, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) set the health advisory level as 70 parts per trillion for lifetime exposure to PFOS and PFOA from drinking water, based on the EPA’s 2016 Health Effects Support Documents. Then, a monograph on PFOA was made available online by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, where the agency classified PFOA as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” (Group 2B). The distinction between PFOS and PFOA, however, may not be easily understood from the above documents. This paper discussed differential toxicity between PFOS and PFOA focusing on neurotoxicity, developmental toxicity and carcinogenicity, mainly based on these documents. The conclusions are as follows: Further mechanistic studies may be necessary for ultrasonic-induced PFOS-specific neurotoxicity. To support the hypothesis for PFOS-specific neonatal death that PFOS interacts directly with components of natural lung surfactant, in vivo studies to relate the physicochemical effects to lung collapse may be required. PFOA-induced DNA damage secondary to oxidative stress may develop to mutagenicity under the condition where PFOA-induced apoptosis is not sufficient to remove the damaged cells. A study to find whether PFOA induces apoptosis in normal human cells may contribute to assessment of human carcinogenicity. Studies for new targets such as hepatocyte nuclear factor 4α (HNF4α) may help clarify the underlying mechanism for PFOA-induced carcinogenicity.

This paper reports a microcomputer based data acquisition system for Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FT-ICR) mass spectroscopy. The system has been developed for a prototype spectrometer constructed with a permanent magnet whose magnetic field strength is 6,200 gauss. The system cosists of two-channel sampling ports with sample-hold circuits, a multiplexer, an A-D converter, an I/O port and a logic circuit. The logic circuit starts data acquisition synchronizing with an external trigger pulse. The acquisition is then repeated for preset number of times to accumulate data for signal averaging. An operating program for the system was written in an assembly language in order to execute high-speed data acquisition and a program for FT-ICR experiments was written using BASIC. Resolution of 40,000 was obtained with CO+ ion in residual gas.
