光波ネットワーク(NW)はマルチメディア時代に対応した将来のネットワークとして注目され, 欧米では下表のようにコンソーシアムを組んで研究開発が進められている。ヨーロッパのプロジェクトは全体で27億円/年の開発投資が見込まれ, 米国では1億ドル/5年規模の投資が計画されている。わが国においても, 光波NWへの適用をめざしたデバイス開発が多くの研究機関で進められているが, 何が本命か必ずしも明確ではない。光波NWのあり方, これを実現するためのキーデバイス技術について本パネル討論で議論することにより, 光波NWシステム/デバイスの研究開発を少しでも加速できれば幸いである。本パネル討論は電子情報通信学会光エレクトロニクス研究会およびレーザ・量子エレクトロニクス研究会の共同企画である。できるだけ新しい結果を持ち寄り, フリーな討論を行なっていただくために予稿集を作成せずに討論することとした。

内分泌療法に抵抗性となったStage D_2前立腺癌例に対し、diethylstilbestrol diphosphate (DESP)の大量投与療法を行うにあたり、^<31>P magnetic resonance spectroscopy(^<31>P MRS)による治療効果の早期判定の可能性を検討した。症例は83歳男性で1984年3月初診。除睾術を施行後、chlormadinon acetate及びcyclophosphamideを中心とした内服治療で経過観察をしていた。1991年12月頃より腫瘍マーカーの再上昇があり、1992年4月貧血と右胸壁腫瘤が認められ、5月6日当科に入院した。胸壁の腫瘤は生検の結果、前立腺癌の肋骨転移と診断され、6月11日よりDESP500mg/日の点滴静注を開始した。初回投与4時間後の^<31>PMRSで、高周波領域成分の広範囲な増加とともに、phosphodiesters(PDE)、phosphomonoesters (PME)のピークの増高が認められ、すでに治療に反応して腫瘍の細胞に変化が生じていることが示唆された。同様の所見はその後も継続して観察され、細胞の破壊が進んでいるものと思われた。臨床的には10日目頃より腫瘤の縮小が認められ、腫瘍マーカーも低下して治療の効果が確認された。以上の結果から、^<31>PMRSは臨床所見や画像診断に先んじて治療の有効性を早期に判定できる可能性が考えられた。

本稿では,フルカラー絵画データベースART MUSEUMにおける感性モデルについて考察を行った.WEB上に公開しているART MUSEUMは,1998年4月から2001年3月までの3年間に5000件以上のアクセスがある.これらのアクセスログより,利用者のアクセス傾向を調査した.その結果,利用者のうち約半数がシステムへのフィードバックを行っていたこと,フィードバックを行った利用者は感性検索も積極的に行っていたこと,フィードバック回数は大半の利用者が1?3回だったこと,などがわかった.また,各利用者の感性モデルが,平均モデルからどれだけ変化しているのか比較を試みた.利用者プロファイルを用いて解析を行うにはデータが十分ではなかったため,今後の課題として,特にインタフェース部分の改良が挙げられる.This paper describes a study of Kansei modeling on the image retrieval system ART MUSEUM, which can treat Kansei information. We have had over 5,000 access logs on ART MUSEUM since April 1998 till March 2001, and checked these logs. As a results, it's found that half users have operated feedback to the system, they have repeated Kansei retrieval many times, but most of them have operated feedback only a few times. And we tried to compare each user's Kansei model with an average Kansei model. It's not enough data for data mining still now. It's need to develop user interface to feedback more easily.

情報化社会の進展に伴い、データ通信システムは、大型計算機中心の集中型から、ネットワークを介したWS(workstation)分散型へ移行している。一方、ネットワークの広域化と高機能WSの普及は、ネットワークに接続されるWSの増加とネットワークを利用するユーザの拡大をもたらす。このようなWS分散環境下で通信を行う場合には、ネットワーク上の多くの通信相手アドレスを管理し、目的とする通信相手アドレスをユーザに提供するアドレス管理機能が必要である。我々はこのニーズに応え、ネットワーク上の全通信相手アドレスを一元管理するアドレスサーバから、ユーザに必要な通信相手アドレスをWS個別に入手管理し、目的とする通信相手アドレスを容易に検索可能な個人対応アドレス帳機能の検討を進めている.WS単独で使用可能なアドレス帳機能については報告済みである1)ので、今回は、このアドレス帳機能の拡張機能として開発したりモートアクセス機能の実現方式と評価結果について述べる。リモートアクセス機能とは、任意のWSのユーザに、ネットワークを介して他のWS上のアドレス帳機能を提供するものである。

我々の医務職員としての能力をより一層発揮するためには,円滑な情報入手や時間のかかる事務作業の削減が課題である。現代の企業ではそれらの課題を解決する手段として,インターネットやグループウェアをはじめとするITが活用されている。我々も社医の業務に適合したITの活用方法を考えなければならない。グループウェアには,電子メール,電子キャビネット,掲示板,スケジュール管理,フォーラム,アドレス帳,ワークフローなどのソフトウェアが含まれる。これらの機能や筆者の経験を紹介する。そして,インターネットやグループウェアを仕事に活かす方法について,筆者の愚案を述べたい。ITを活用するうえで,情報セキュリティの問題,人材育成の問題,費用対効果の問題,通信エリアの問題など課題は数多い。しかし,可能な範囲のなかでITのメリットを最大限に引き出す工夫が重要である。

Water-silicone oil emulsion with a silane coupling agent was used as a phase change material. Using stainless steel vessels coated with PFA resin, experiments of forming ice with stirring were carried out under various conditions of the temperature of brine for cooling and the composition of emulsion. We investigated the correlation between cooling heat flux and ice adhesion to the cooling surface in the ice formation process. The following results were obtained, (a) Silicone oil has the effect of preventing the formed ice from adhering to the cooling surface, (b) Under a condition of the same concentration of the additive, the maximum cooling heat flux without adhesion in the case of water fraction of 80vol.% was larger than that in the case of 100%.

One of the most important ceremonies that the bongthing, a kind of shaman of the Lepchas, performes is that of Mt. Kangchenjunga, an abode of the protector of Sikkim as well as of the Lepchas. On the other side of the Kangchenjunga is the legendary land called Mayel inhabited by the immortals who are patrons of crops and fertility and guarded by three demonic brothers, one a guardian of hunters and the other two guardians of Himalayan animals. Bongthing is mythologically said to be the inhabitant of the Tiamtan, an intermediate place between the deities' Rum land and the earth. In the Sikkimese version, Tiamtan is the site where the King Kesar, a legendary hero of Tibetan origin, resided for a while before his incarnation as a savior on the earth. With the tide of modernization of Sikkim, the legendary hero Kesar has become a war god, while the Kangchenjunga is celebrated with national festivity. These cosmological ideas and their changes are discussed here through the analysis of supplementary data obtained in the field research in Sikkim in 1984 and 1986.

We have been studying on a suspension as a new thermal storage material. The suspension is made from water and some additive with cooling and stirring. When designing the ice storage system using this suspension, the thermal conductivity of the suspension is essential. The purpose of this study is to measure a thermal conductivity of the ice-water suspension with good fluidity. The thermal conductivity was measured by a hot wire method. In this study, the relationship between thermal conductivity and IPF was clarified, and thermal conductivity was expressed as a function of IPF. Moreover, the uncertainty of measurement of the thermal conductivity was examined.
