一八四六年八月に浦賀沖に達したビレ提督指揮下のガラテア号の出現が興味深いのは、1.それがとにもかくにも日本―デンマーク文化交流史の第一ページを飾る出来事であり、『故事類苑』外交部にも記事が載っていること、2. デンマークの国旗が史上初めて日本人の目にとまり、両国がお互いの存在を短時間とはいえ認めあったこと、3.デンマーク側の訪問が文字どおりの即興であり、十七世紀半ばのデンマーク東インド会社による二度にわたった日本進出計画挫折の時と同様、またしても情報不足、準備不足で日本を訪問したこと、にもかかわらず、4.上海から浦賀沖に至る航路途上の測量を、クルーゼンシュテルンおよびシーボルトの成果を比較しつつ行っている点、同様に、5.日本と日本人に関する観察を、これも先行文献の記述を対照しながら行い、私見を述べている点に興味をひかれるからである。ビレ提督の日本印象記は、デンマークの教科書中に散見されていた日本関係記事と、クルーゼンシュテルンの『世界周航記』デンマーク語版をのぞけば、日本を訪れたデンマーク人によって書かれた日本論の嚆矢であった。この印象記は、それまでの先行文献からの広い意味での「引用」に過ぎなかったデンマークの日本観が、ほんの短時間にしろ日本の国土と日本人に接し、その印象と評価を書き記した広義の「翻訳(誤訳)」へと質的変換をとげた画期的事件となったのである。以後のデンマーク人による日本記事は、直接に引用してあるかはともかくとして、ビレ提督の日本印象記抜きに語られることはなかった。

The purpose of this article is to describe the journalistic practice and business strategy of the Joyo Shimbun, a local paper distributed in 15 municipalities in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture. It is based on the authors' interviews with its president and a Joyo Shimbun journalist. Some findings are as follows:1) There were differences of opinion among the staff on what sort of news the paper should focus on: conventional mainstream journalism or local journalism, which some regarded as important because of the effect it could have on the local community.2) Not full-time professional journalists, but part-time reporters were the primary contributors to a report on a local referendum in Tsukuba-shi.3) Journalistic quality was maintained by journalists who were professionals with experience in conventional journalism and who were sympathetic toward public journalism.4) Local Journalism is now a key concept, not only for journalism practices but also for newspapers' business strategy.The purpose of this article is to describe the journalistic practice and business strategy of the Joyo Shimbun, a local paper distributed in 15 municipalities in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture. 【目的】飯に水や湯をかけて食べる方法は、奈良・平安迄遡る。その後、煎茶をかけて食べる「茶漬け」が出現した。それは比較的あたらしく江戸時代に普及したものである。現在は漬茶け専門店もあり、茶のかわりにだし汁をかけても「茶漬け」としている。飯に汁をかける食法がどのように発展、展開していたのかを探ることが本報告の目的である。【方法】文献調査:通史資料として『古事類苑』、近世資料として『守貞謾稿』、料理本等現在状況調査には市場統計出版物などを対象とした。【結果】平安時代には飯に水や湯をかけて食べる記録がみられる。その後、飯に汁をかける食法は武士層などの酒宴の後に用いられている。江戸末期の『守貞謾稿』には庶民の日常食に言及し、京阪は朝食、江戸は夕食に茶漬けとしている。煎茶の普及がそれまでの水や湯をかけていたものから茶漬けに発展した。水と茶の品質にもこだわっていた話が料亭での茶漬けとして伝わっている。一方、江戸の料理書『名飯部類』には86品中45品が出汁や煎茶をかける物として記載されている。近代に入り、永谷園が1941年に刻み海苔に抹茶や塩を加えた「海苔茶」を発売、1952年に「お茶漬け海苔」と商品名にお茶漬を取り上げ、お茶漬がより日常的なものに発展した。懐石料理においては最後に飯に湯桶にお焦げを入れた湯が添えられ、食法が決められている。現在は外食店にだし汁を飯にかけて供する店名にお茶漬けを採用している現象が出現している。飯に汁をかける食法の総称として「お茶漬け」という言語が使用されるに至っていると言ってよい。

Healthy sweet potato and morning glory plants were inoculated by feeding with infective leafhoppers, Orosius ryukyuensis, on each plant. The infected plants were examined by electron microscope. In the sweet potato plants, no mycoplasma-like organism (MLO) was observed before the appearance of initial symptoms, but as soon as the initial symptoms appeared, many branched filamentous form and bacilliform MLO were observed. In the phloem cells of sweet potato and morning glory plants which showed typical symptoms, numerous MLO ranging between 75 to 1, 400mμ in size were observed. In the morphology and distribution of MLO, there was no difference between both hosts. There appeared to be some differences in the morphology of MLO found in different plant parts: leaf vein, pedicel, stem, petal, and root. In mature phloem cells, MLO were often found crowded along the cell membrane. In immature phloem cells adjacent to apical meristem of stem, and petal, possible reproductive forms of MLO were observed in the cytoplasm. MLO were frequently found within sieve pores, suggesting that MLO might move through these pores. In the phloem cells of diseased plants, numerous large multivesicular bodies were frequently observed. In the vacuoles of these cells, high density of the square crystals varying in size from 0.1 to 2μ were also frequently observed.

本稿は,算数・数学の学力や学習態度の男女差について,日米比較の観点から分析を試みるものである。分析には2種類の国際学力調査を用い,小学校・中学校・高等学校のすべてを分析対象とする。分析の結果,日米ともに数学の学力や学習態度に男女差が確認され,特に学習態度については日米間で顕著な違いがみられた。日米ともに第4学年では女子のほうが否定的な回答をする傾向が確認されたが,その傾向は米国の第8学年では縮小し,日本の第8学年では拡大していた。数学の有用性に関する設問に対して,米国の生徒は肯定的な回答をする傾向が明らかに強く,同時にこれらの設問に対する回答の男女差が日本の生徒に比べて小さいことが確認された。

市民社会概念には,基本的に,国家と同義語の市民社会を表す(アリストテレスから近代の自然法論等に及ぶ)伝統な準拠系と,経済領域としての市民社会を表すとされる(ヘーゲル,マルクス以来の)準拠系が存在する。しかし,これら2 系統の市民社会概念は,これまでの了解ほどに対立する概念であっただろうか。本稿は,ホッブズ,プーフェンドルフ,ロックらの社会契約説,ファーガソン,スミス,カントらの市民社会概念と,ヘーゲル,マルクスらの市民社会概念を検討し,前者にあっても国家=市民社会は,生産-所有の経済的次元と婚姻-家族等の社会的次元という再生産領域を包括する二重構造からなる国家社会の全体であり,たんなる政治体制を構成するだけのものではないこと,他方,後者は伝統的な国家=市民社会に対する批判をなしたとはいえ,市民社会の概念的理解において前者と本質的に異なるものではなかったこと,を示したものである。
