都市の交通渋滞対策として, 環状道路の整備が推進されているが, ほとんどの都市で建設が進んでいないこのような中, 札幌では約70年の歳月を要したが, 日本初の一般道路による環状道路が実現した.研究成果は, 札幌環状通完成までの札幌の都市建設や都市・道路計画などを対象に, 歴史的背景, 史実, 計画の変遷を計画史の視点より研究した.その結果, 戦時体制下の国防, 防空と防火の思想を背景とした火防線を理想型の環状系広路として計画し, 実現性を踏まえた「アーク (環状系) 道路」を配置し, その思想を今日まで持続した点にあったとともに, 計画史的評価による新たな事業評価も可能であることを明らかにした.

In this paper, I argue that non-occurrences of events are not qualified as causal relatas from an ontological point of view. It is a matter of fact that we usually use sentences which appear to report non-occurrences of events as causes or effects. But such sentences do not represent the states of the world straightforwardly and hence requires an interpretation. According to the interpretation I endorse, sentences mentioning non-occurrences of events should be interpreted in terms of counterfactuals. This interpretation shows that non-occurrences of events are mentioned on the basis of the concept of possibility. This view is supported by clarifying the ontology of events, confirming the truth condition for counterfactuals, and analyzing cases of double prevention.

本稿は、ルターの教会の理解における宣教論的本質を明らかにするものである。一般に、G. ヴァルネックに見られるように、ルターの教会論には宣教的視点がないかのごとく論じられることがある。しかし、ルターの教会論はそのみ言葉中心性において優れて宣教論的性格を持っている。ルターにとっては、教会はいつでも「宣教(Proclamation)」のために存在する。 この論述では、ルターの教会理解における見える教会と見えない教会という二重性の問題、またその終末論的性格を示し、信仰のない者たちにも、またすでにキリストの教会にある者たちにも、絶えず繰り広げられる神の宣教の働きを教会の脈絡の中に明らかにする。 付論として、ローマ・カトリック教会とともに宗教改革500 年を記念したルーテル教会の宣教的課題を論じた。ルーテル教会が、現代世界の中で果たすべき宣教的責務を、具体的な日本の教会の脈絡の中で論じている。

Two new species of decapod crustacean, Hoploparia miyamotoi (Astacidea : Nephropidae) and Callianassa masanorii (Thalassinidea : Callianassidae), are described from the Upper Cretaceous lzumi Group of Osaka and Hyogo Prefectures, Japan. H. miyamotoi represents the first record for the genus from Cretaceous deposits of Japan and C. masanorii is the second of a callianassid known from the Japanese Cretaceous. The occurrence of H. miyamotoi extends the known geographic range of Hoploparia to the west side of the North Pacific.

The Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite system was launched in 2002, and has been playing important roles in various disciplines of earth and environmental sciences through measuring time-variable gravity field of the earth. It also offers a unique viewpoint to study earthquakes in terms of mass redistribution. We provide a review of earthquake studies with GRACE, e.g. basic facts of the satellite system and available data types, several kinds of non-earthquake gravity changes which may mask the earthquake-related signals. We also summarize past researches about co- and postseismic gravity changes. Two dimensional coseismic gravity changes were first observed with GRACE for the 2004 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake. After that, GRACE has caught coseismic gravity changes of the 2010 Maule, the 2011 Tohoku-oki, the 2012 Indian-ocean, and the 2013 Okhotsk deep-focus earthquakes. Such coseismic gravity changes are due mainly to two factors, i.e., the density changes around the fault edges, and the vertical deformations of boundaries with density contrasts such as the surface and the Moho. Short- and long-term postseismic gravity changes are considered to stem from afterslip and viscoelastic relaxation, respectively, but further studies are needed to quantitatively explain the observations.

日本の音楽業界にも"ビッグバン"が訪れる。2001年10月1日、「著作権等管理事業法」が施行される。民間業者が音楽や映像などの著作権管理ビジネスに、簡単に参入できるようにした法律だ。 JASRAC(日本音楽著作権協会)は、今回の管理事業法の施行で大きな影響を受ける(写真2-1)。1939年の設立以来、60年以上にわたるJASRACの事実上の"独占"が崩れるからだ。

Visitor monitoring is the essential management effort to make planning and management reasonable in national parks. Exact visitor statistics make managers possible to evaluate effectiveness of current management practices and facilities, and to predict future trends and demands to the park. In this study, we asked park managers to answer the current status and problems regarding with visitor monitoring which includes counting number of visitors and visitor survey. As the results, visitor counting and visitor survey have been conducted in most parks. Park managers recognized the importance and necessity of visitor monitoring. Nevertheless, they are concerned about the lack of budget and staff, and the reliability of monitoring methods. It is considered that standardized monitoring method and devices should be distributed, and sufficient budget and personnel training are necessary.

An investigation by the Japanese Supreme Court has shown that unethical and criminal acts by legal guardians of both children and adults have been increasing. This study reports on the conditions and factors related to unethical and criminal acts by legal guardians. Specifically the study identifies ten factors from a case analysis of the Tokyo Family Court Guardian Center. The analysis shows that the time between a court decision to place a child or adult under a guardian and when the guardianship began was critical and seems to indicate that cultivating and supporting the values and ethics of professional guardians is important to ensure that the children and adults get good care from the guardians.

【目的】終末期がん患者の死亡場所の希望と実際の一致を促進する可能性のある,訪問看護師による予後理解を促す支援の実施の促進要因を明らかにする.【方法】無作為抽出した全国1,000事業所の訪問看護師に,無記名質問紙調査を実施した.【結果】374名のうち,予後理解を促す支援をした割合は27.8%であった.予後理解を促す支援の実施の促進要因は,医師による患者への余命の告知あり(オッズ比3.22: 95%信頼区間1.81-5.73),予後理解を促す支援は看護師が説明すべきと認識している(2.12: 1.02-4.43),患者へ予後理解を促す支援の必要性を認識している(1.54: 1.08-2.21),1年間のがん患者の自宅看取り数が5人以上(1.78: 1.04-3.05)であった.【結論】患者の希望死亡場所の実現を目指し,訪問看護師による予後理解を促す支援の実施を促進するためには,上記4項目の推進の必要性が示された.

This study aims to clarify the transformation of crematoria and cremators. Below are the findings. 1) The Cremation Society of Great Britain was founded in 1874 and it promoted the cremation movement. consequently, the cremation became common. The cremation rate has remained stagnant at the 70% level since the 1990's. Religious and ethnic cultures may cause this phenomenon. 2) While the basic structure of the cremation institution has not changed, the Chapel of Remembrance was added and the design of crematorium changed. Also, the Book of Remembrance was introduced. 3) The basic structure of cremators has not changed, but the improvement was found in regard to economy, combustion efficiency, and environmental preservation.

1. The daytime activities of Adelie penguin adults of the small colony in the early guard stage were observed at Hinode Misaki (Cape Hinode, 68°09'S, 42°43'E) during the austral summer. 2. Notes were made on the following thirteen activities : going out of the colony ; entering into the colony ; loud mutual display ; quiet mutual display ; ecstatic display ; bill-to-axilla display ; copulation ; turning egg over ; preening ; collecting nest stones ; fighting ; feeding ; and protective threatening against skuas. 3. The midday maximum activities were as follows : going out of the colony ; entering into the colony ; collecting nest stones ; loud mutual display ; copulation. The midday minimum activities were as follows : ecstatic display ; bill-to-axilla display. Frequency of activity was reverse between loud mutual display and quiet mutual display. Protective threatening varied with the activity of skua. In the activities of fighting, preening, feeding and turning egg over, no characteristic patterns were observed.

クリニックなど小規模医療機関等、治験や臨床試験に参加したいがシステム負担が大きく参加協力が難しかった施設においても本研究成果を利活用することにより従来に比較し容易に治験や臨床研究に参加できる環境を提供できる道が開けた。これにより疾患に依存して、その当該疾患の研究に、より適している施設に試験参加協力の上、臨床研究を効率的に推進可能な対象施設範囲が広がった。UMINセンターが持つ全国集計サーバーへ匿名化した臨床試験情報を安全かつ効率的に収集できる対象がこれまでの大規模病院のみならずクリニック等小規模医療機関まで広がった。
