This study was replication research from Izaki, Taniguchi, & Ura's study (2013), and examined whether adult attachment style and recalling past rejection experiences have interaction effects on the perceived pain of emotional bullying at school. Participants were 87 undergraduate students, and were tested individually via a computer program. First, they completed the ECR-GO (Nakao & Kato, 2004) which assesses two dimensions of adult attachment style, anxiety and avoidance. Second, they were randomly assigned to respond to one of two sets of brief, open-ended questions about a past experience of rejection or taking a next important examination. Third, participants read a scenario involving emotional bullying at school and estimated the severity of the bullying with the Faces Pain Scale (Bieri et al., 1990). There were significant interaction effects between recalling condition and avoidance on the severity of the bullying by many classmates and by a specific student. In the exclusion condition, high avoidant participants estimated the bullying to be less severe than low avoidant participants, but in the test condition, high and low avoidant participants did not differ in the severity of the bullying.

Pathological α-synuclein (αSyn) has been shown to retain the ability to propagate as prions in humans and animals. However, the molecular basis underlying the prion-like properties of αSyn remains poorly understood. We examined whether brain tissues from cases of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), which contain serine 129 (Ser129)-phosphorylated insoluble aggregates of αSyn, exhibit prion-like seeding activity in vitro using the real-time quaking-induced conversion (RT-QuIC) seeding assay. Brain tissues from cases of diffuse neocortical DLB yielded a 50% seeding dose of 107.3-109.8/g brain. The RT-QuIC assay could discriminate between DLB and other neurological and neurodegenerative disorders, suggesting its potential applicability for differential diagnosis. Insoluble aggregates of αSyn>250 kDa detected only in DLB brain tissues by Western blotting analysis were specifically phosphorylated at Ser129. Therefore, we postulated that Ser129-phosphorylated insoluble aggregates of αSyn have prion-like seeding activity. However, insoluble aggregates of recombinant human αSyn (rSyn) with increased β-sheet structures showed little seeding activity in either the phosphorylated or nonphosphorylated state. In contrast, prefibrillar oligomers of rSyn showed seeding activity both with and without phosphorylation. The findings of the present study suggested that soluble oligomeric αSyn, but not the fully fibrillary form, is a seeding species in vitro.

車体やシャシーの剛性(車両剛性)違いでの操舵に対する車両応答の微小な変化と,車両応答の違いがコーナーを走行しているドライバーのハンドル操作修正量(修正操舵)へ与える影響を組み合わせることで,これまで難しいとされてきた車両剛性と車両運動性能の定量的な関係の一つを示した.

Introduction: Chemonucleolysis with condoliase (chondroitin sulfate ABC endolyase) has been used to treat patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH) in Japan since 2018. In this study, we retrospectively investigated clinical outcomes in patients who received an intradiscal condoliase injection for LDH and sought to identify significant predictors of good outcome.Methods: Indications for treatment were as follows: (1) unilateral leg pain with or without back pain, (2) nerve root compression caused by LDH confirmed on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and (3) leg pain resistant to at least 1 month of conservative treatment, including medication, nerve root block, or physical therapy. Patients with motor weakness or a history of severe allergy were excluded, as were those with the foraminal or sequestrated type of LDH. The injection was defined as effective if the numeric rating scale score for leg pain improved by ≥50% at 6 months post-treatment.Results: A total of 52 patients (mean age, 45.0 years) were enrolled and classified according to whether the injection was effective (E group, n=40, 76.9%) or less effective (L group, n=9, 17.3%). Three patients (5.8%) underwent herniotomy for residual pain within 6 months of the injection. There were no severe adverse events. Reduction of herniation was seen on MRI more often in the E group than in the L group. The effectiveness in patients with transligamentous LDH was similar to that in patients with subligamentous LDH. High-intensity signal change in the area of LDH on pretreatment T2-weighted MRI was a significant predictor of successful leg pain relief.Conclusions: An intradiscal condoliase injection was a safe and effective treatment for painful radiculopathy caused by LDH. Leg pain was more likely to improve in patients with high-intensity signal change in the area of LDH before treatment.

The pathogenic bacterium Pseudomonas syrinage pv. actinidiae causes bacterial canker disease, which is the most damaging disease afflicting kiwifruit (Actinidia chinensis). The most prevalent strain is biovar 3 (Psa3), which is highly pathogenic. Therefore, Psa3-resistant varieties of kiwifruit are urgently needed. A previous study reported that Actinidia rufa, a wild Japanese species related to kiwifruit, is highly resistant to Psa3. Genome-wide DNA markers may be useful to locate the loci that confer Psa3 resistance. Therefore, in the present study, we used published kiwifruit genome sequence information to design 1,101 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers covering the entire kiwifruit genome in silico. We next examined DNA polymorphisms in more than 1,000 polymerase chain reaction products for potential use as SSR markers among A. rufa Fuchu and A. chinensis FCM1, a pollen-providing parent Fuchu A. chinensis male 1, and other kiwifruit cultivars in order to develop Psa3 resistant kiwifruit cultivars. We finally obtained 351 polymorphic markers, in the entire kiwifruit genome, which can be applied to produce next-generation kiwifruit cultivars, including Psa3-resistant cultivars.

This review scientifically compares the properties of zirconia and titanium, but does not identify the best among them as an implant material. Surface treatment and modification to improve tissue bonding and inhibit bacterial adhesion are not considered in this review. The mechanical properties of titanium are superior to those of zirconia; some studies have shown that zirconia can be used as a dental implant, especially as an abutment. Extensive surface treatment research is ongoing to inhibit bacterial adhesion and improve osseointegration and soft tissue adhesion phenomena which make it difficult to evaluate properties of the materials themselves without surface treatment. Osseointegration of titanium is superior to that of zirconia itself without surface treatment; after surface treatment, both materials show comparable osseointegration. The surface morphology is more important for osseointegration than the surface composition. To inhibit bacterial adhesion, zirconia is superior to titanium, and hence, more suitable for abutments. Both materials show similar capability for soft tissue adhesion.

本年度は以下の2つの実験を行った.実験には雄ウイスターラット(300-350g)を用い,侵害受容閾値の測定にはプランターテストを用いた.[1] インターロイキン-1β(IL-1β)を視床下部視索前野(POA)に投与したときに生じる痛覚過敏におけるNOの関与の検討.実験1週間前に麻酔下でガイドカニューレとスタイレットをPOAの1.0mm上まで埋め込み,実験当日,薬物を目的部位に注入しpaw-withdrawal latencyの変化を観察した.IL-1β10pgをPOAに投与すると15-30分後にpaw-withdrawal latencyは短縮したが,IL-1β+N^G-monomethyl-L-arginin(10μg)を同時投与すると短縮効果が抑制された.POAにおいてIL-1βはNOを介して痛覚過敏を生じると考えられた.[2] Lipopolysaccharide(LPS)全身投与によって生じる痛覚過敏/鎮痛作用におけるプロスタグタンジン(PG)の関与の検討.LPS1-100μg/kgを静脈内投与したところ,投与45-60分後にpaw-withdrawal latencyが短縮した.一方,120分の観察時間内ではpaw-withdrawal latencyの延長はみられなかった.シクロオキシゲナーゼ-2阻害剤であるNS-3981.0ng/0.3μlを両側POA内に局所投与したところpaw-withdrawal latencyの短縮が抑制されたが,腹内側核,室傍核内への投与では抑制効果がみられなかった.細菌感染症にかかった時に生じる痛覚過敏にPOAでのPG産生が関与すると考えられる.

Up to the present, many scholars have dealt with Shang-gu-zhi-lu (商買之律), laws of traders, in connection with the study of social rank system in the Qin (秦) and Han (漢) Dynasties. In this paper. the methods to control the northern area of the Han Empire in the early Han era, where laws which intertwine with political issues will be discussed by the author.Gao-zu of Han (漢高祖) attempted to firmly rule the northern area. In the late Qin era, the influence of Xiong-nu (匈奴) became stronger as they expanded southward. Under these circumstances, traders from Bai-tu (白土) conducted commerce between China and Xiong-nu, which had steadily developed. After taking over Guan-zhong (関中), Gao-zu fortified the Han-Xiong-nu frontier against possible Xiong-nu attacks, and abolished the traders commerce. Upon conquering Dai (代) and Zhao (趙) districts, Gao-zu sent Zhang Cang (張蒼) from the central government, in order to rule the frontier region. This measure infringes upon the principle of local rule in the Han dynasty, that as a regulation, the frontier shall be within the jurisdiction of the local government. Therefore, this measure illustrates an active interest of the central government in this region.But Gao-zu had Han Wang Xin (韓王信) command this region as a king, and later Zhang Cang was transferred back to the central government. Immediately thereafter Han Wan Xin and the traders became closely allied with Xiong-nu and revolted against the Han Empire.Gao-zu sent Chen xi (陳稀) from the central government to reconstruct the frontier rule. After putting down this insurrection, he enacted the laws of traders. The objective was to rule the traders who were closely related to the Xiong-nu.This policy, however, due to Chen xi reveling with the traders, Han Wang Xin, and the Xiong-nu had failed. It was a conflict between the Han Empire’s rule system and the local community in the early Han era. Therefore, Gao-zu endeavored to grasp public feeling in the area, and made the traders surrender in exchange for providing them with rewards. By tolerating the trader’s values, Gao-zu intended to incorporate them into the Han Empire’s sphere of rule. Thus, methods to control the traders became ever more skillful.

1972年秋,富士川胡の一つ,河口湖に,従来,北アメリカ東部と中央ヨーロッパでしか記録されていなかった炭水産コケムシpectinatella magnifica(LEIDY)の群体塊が出現した(MAWATARI, 1973)。ところが1973年には富士五湖の他の一つ,精進湖にもこの群体塊が多数出現した。9月初め岸辺の水中の岩・に大小様々の群体塊が毬(まり)状に発達し,分泌した寒天質塊の表面を多数の群体が多角模様をなしておおっていた。大きな群体塊は岩から剥れて分厚い円盤状(直径約60 cm)となって水面に浮上していた。11月初めには岩に囲まれた静かな水面に畳一畳ほどもあるけ大な群体塊となって浮いていた。長さでは2.8mに達する細長いものもあった。個々のポリプ体は1.5mmほどで,(Cristatella mucedo CUVIER(アユミコケムシ)を思わせる。口上突起と目の周辺に赤い色素があるのはこの種の著しい特徴である。触手冠の両腕の先端部および包体の肛門側に乳白色の塊があるが,これらはKRAEPELIN(1887)がいう上皮線(epidermal gland)からの分泌物である。スタトブラストは丸味を帯びた角形で,長径は約1mm,川縁部から錨形をした軸が11〜22本伸びでている。群体から放出されたスタトブラストは必ず水面に浮上し,数週間は寒天質層に包されている。精進湖は冬期結氷するが,越冬し水面に浮遊するスタトブラストは,現地で,5月下旬に発芽していた。8月に幼生が出現した。幼生は卵形で直径1〜2mm, 1〜5個の芽を有するが,通常は4個。外分の表面にある繊毛の運動で,芽のある方を下にして,数時間浮遊した後,ものに付着して変態した。このコケムシの群体塊がボール状に発達し,しかも表面が個々の群体によって多角模様をなしていることから和名として"オオマリコケムジ"という名称を提案したい。 今まで日本にいなかったこのコケムシが河口湖や精進湖に突如出現するようになった原因はまだ判明していない。国際的に人や物資の交流が盛んになった今日,偶然の機会に,ものに付着したスタトブラストがこれらの湖に持たらされたのであろう。また渡り鳥によるスタトブラストの"空輸"も考慮されよう。1974年の夏には石川県の柴山潟にもこの群体塊が多量に出現した。今後,このコケムシの分布の推移に注目しておかなければならない。(第10回動物分類学今大会にて講演)

1972年10月4日富士五湖の一つである河口湖にPectinatella magnifica(LEIDY)の多数の寒天質群体が浮游し,汀にうち上げられていることを確認した。地元では9月初め頃より多数浮き出して「淡水水母」と誤認されていたものである。本種は日本産のカンテンコケムシPectinatella gelatinosa OKAに群体などは似ているが,その体芽の周辺に碇型の棘を10数本有することで容易に区別される。もともとアメリカ東部の特産として知られ,1900年初順に中部ヨーロッパに運ばれた歴史があるが,今回の日本での出現も,近年の日米間の交流の急増と関係が深いものと思われる。この記録は東洋地区では初めてのものであり,アメリカでの発見から約120年後の出来事である。(第9回動物分類学会大会にて講演)
