身体所見の診断率は一般的な呼吸器疾患で70%程度はあるが,身体所見は日常的な疾患を迅速かつ簡便に推定する技術と考えるべきである.これまでも多くの診察法の解説があるので,本稿では,頸部リンパ節腫脹での亜急性壊死性リンパ節炎, auscultatory percussionの手法,疾患による水泡音の発生時相の相異, COPDにおける身体所見と肺機能の相関などを紹介した.身体所見は地味であるが,臨床医として不可欠な技術である.

巨大な前方後円墳は3世紀の古代日本に突如として建造された。これらの古墳がどのような人達によって、どのような技術内容と思想・理念を背景に設計されたのか、未だ明らかにされていない。本稿は18の古墳を検討の対象に選び、設計者が図面に最初に描く古墳天端の平面形状から、設計の理念・使用尺度について検討, 考察した。

We report the oviposition behavior, the time for the larvae to reach maturity, and the larval feeding behavior of Trox mitis fujiokai (Coleoptera: Trogidae) under laboratory conditions. A total of 89 eggs were obtained from seven females. The oviposition was continued 15.6±4.4 (mean±SD) days, and the number of eggs a day was 1.9±1.0. Eggs were separately laid in the soil (6.6±2.3 cm depth). The larvae hatched 10.1±0.4 days after oviposition. Hatched larvae moved to the ground surface and fed on chicken feathers. After feeding on a part of the feathers, each larva made a single tunnel, carried the uneaten feathers into the tunnel, and consumed them there. Mature larvae moved deeper into the soil and pupated (8.9±3.0 cm, N=3). Two adults emerged 11 days after pupating.

放射性廃棄物の地層処分の安全評価では,放射性核種の岩石への収着による移行遅延を定量的に評価することが重要であり,トレーサー試験は評価方法の1つと考えられる.原位置トレーサー試験では,岩石の収着特性を直接評価できる利点がある一方で,割れ目内の流動場等の試験条件を完全に制御することは難しく,評価される収着特性への試験条件の依存性や妥当性に関する検討は十分でない.このため,本研究では,送液流量を変えた室内トレーサー試験を実施し,評価される収着特性の依存性と妥当性を評価した.その結果,岩石マトリクスの遅延係数は送液流量に関わらず同程度となり,バッチ試験の結果とも整合した.これは,原位置の試験環境が理解/制御できれば,原位置トレーサー試験においても安全評価に資する収着特性を評価できることを示唆する.

Various types of slipcases called “Hako” have traditionally been used by Japanese book publishers for many years. Many of them are made of good quality paper and are fitted to the volume in a classic manner. One purpose of their use is to guard against damage to a book prior to its being sold; another is to give the book a refined appearance. Many slipcase artists worked in the Tokyo area from the end of the Meiji era in 1910, and most of them were from Toyama Prefecture. The slipcases of literary books were often designed by a famous artist or painter, and dictionaries often bore a beautifully hand-lettered title.Regrettably, this practice of handsome slipcases has grown less common recently, because publishers no longer want to invest in the extra cost involved and readers want books at the cheapest price possible.

This paper argues that Yann Martel's novel Life of Pi ascribes to India a spiritual paradigm formed in the colonial period and that the story renovates the aging paradigm for contemporary use. More than a few researchers have examined Life of Pi, some of whom focus on religious beliefs. In common, they all regard the novel as postmodern literature that seeks to deconstruct religious beliefs and replace God with a narrative. Therefore, they make a judgment about whether it can be “a story that makes you believe in God," as Martel writes in the novel's Author's Note. Though the story is based on India, and Pi, the protagonist, is an Indian, previous researchers have examined the novel's religious concepts within a Christian framework. This paper employs Homi K. Bhabha's view to discuss the relation between religious beliefs and narrative. Borrowing from Bhabha's concept, Martel found both religious “rapture" and the way of “negotiation" in India, and then, in Life of Pi, he utilized the latter to transmit the former. Nevertheless, this comes from his desire to present India as a spiritual paradigm. Not only does Martel rely on the paradigm but also adapts it by using its narrative, which he calls “bamboozlement." Besides, he attenuates native traits of Pondicherry. Pi is pan-Indianized and adapted to contemporary Western society.

底流と越流が複合したゲートは底流方式と越流方式の利点を保ちながらそれぞれの方式が有する欠点を回避できる可能性があり,流域治水の面から期待される.しかしながらその定量的な評価を目指した研究の成果で設計に耐える十分なものはないようである.本研究では,現実で重要と考えられる流れの組合せとして底流(自由流出・潜り流出)と完全越流が複合したチェックゲートをすぎる流れについて,基礎的実験により水深と流量の間の関係を検討すると共に,底流と越流の流量を既往の研究成果を利用して個別に評価しその合計の流量を見積もることを試みた.得られた合計流量の計算値と実験値との比較から,流量の計算値は一定の水理条件の範囲内で実験結果と良好に一致することが示された.

周防灘は瀬戸内海における最も広い海域であり,対岸距離が長く,入り組んだ湾形状が多く全体的には南向きの海岸であるため,台風時における高潮の影響を受けやすい.本研究では,周防灘に影響を与えた過去の台風と高潮による潮位偏差を整理し,大きな被害をもたらした高潮について,経験的台風モデルと非線形長波モデルによる再現計算を実施した.さらにT9918等の実際の台風経路を基本に平行移動による台風コースを幾通りも設定し,最大規模の高潮の推算を行った.周防灘沿岸方向の潮位偏差の発達と台風経路との傾向が明らかとなり,観測値の潮位偏差を元に最大規模の確率年についても検討した.

The usefulness of a highly targeted pencil beam (PB) label was compared with the commonly used slab label for direct visualization of pancreaticobiliary reflux using the time-spatial labeling inversion pulse (time-SLIP) technique. Signal profiles of flow phantom images obtained with a 1.5T MRI were analyzed. Both labels had similar labeling capabilities, but the edge characteristics of the PB label were blunt. Next, sixty-eight patients were classified into two groups according to the angle of the pancreaticobiliary ducts, and the displacement of the pancreatic ducts in respiratory fluctuation was measured. The results were approximately 7 mm in both groups. The blunt edge characteristics of the PB label suggest that it is robust to respiratory fluctuations. The overall labeling ability of the PB is comparable to that of the slab. In the larger angle of pancreaticobiliary ducts, the PB label may be able to label the pancreatic duct more selectively.

本研究では、青年期のグループ学習における主張行動と自尊感情との関連について調査研究を行った。調査は青年期にあたる大学生、短大生、専門学校の生徒を対象に行われた。調査の結果、主張行動と自尊感情には中程度の相関が示された。また、主張行動の背景要因について自由記述による回答を元に分析を行った結果、自尊感情が影響していることが推察される要素と、自尊感情以外の心理的要因の存在が示唆された。

In many large cities in the developed world, X-TECH Businesses, which combine technology and existing urban industries, have emerged in recent years. The progress of digitalization of all industries has made it necessary to clarify the location principle of X-TECH Businesses and construct the basic knowledge of the new industrial location theory that goes beyond the old industrial location and ICT industrial location theories. In this context, the current study examines X-TECH Businesses in the special wards of Tokyo and clarifies the location mechanism of these businesses by analyzing the relationship between X-TECH Businesses and existing industries. In addition, this study examines the new industrial location structure that is emerging in Tokyo by drawing and analyzing the new clusters formed by the rise of X-TECH Businesses on a map. Further, the study discusses the future direction of the industrial cluster policy in accordance with the digitalization of industry. The study obtained the following results:  1) The location of X-TECH Businesses has a strong Location-Bound and is strongly influenced by the concentration of the same industries. In addition, the location of X-TECH Businesses is strongly influenced by the concentration of other industries, such as traditional, ICT, and business supporting industries. Moreover, X-TECH Businesses emphasize proximity to higher education and research institutions and long-distance public transportation.  2) In Tokyo, X-TECH Businesses have a unique distribution that is different from the distribution of traditional industries and ICT industries. In addition, each X-TECH Business segment is attracted to different existing business clusters. Hence, small X-TECH clusters with distinct characteristics are diversely distributed in Tokyo, resulting in the emergence of an archipelago-like industrial distribution.  3) X-TECH clusters have a sticky nature to the region, as they enter into the crevices of existing industrial clusters and form distinctive little clusters. The X-TECH clusters serve as a bridge between traditional industry and ICT clusters and act as a “catalyst” to activate both the clusters. By supporting the formation of catalytic X-TECH clusters among existing industry clusters, one can revitalize and stabilize the overall regional economy, including traditional regional industries.

Recent years have seen the wide adoption of floor insulated houses. Floor insulated houses is Many studies in the past have reported the high humidity of crawl spaces in the summer season. In this research, we propose a humidity control method for crawl spaces in floor insulated houses based on actual measurement data. The effects of that proposal on crawl spaces were clarified through experimentation and simulation. The result is shown as follows. 1) In the actual measurement, crawl space of target house is average relative humidity 80% or more in summer season. It was guessed that high humidity of crawl spaces can be suppressed by supplying indoor air to crawl space. 2) In the experimentation, it was confirmed that the relative humidity decreased due to the air supply effect. But the cumulative percentage at a relative humidity of over 80% didn't fall below 80 percent. Therefore, this result shows that the risk of fungal contamination is high. 3) In the simulation, calculations were performed to supply indoor air to the crawl space as in the actual measurement. it was confirmed that the relative humidity decreased due to the air supply effect in all areas. And it was shown that the risk of fungal contamination is relatively low where the cumulative percentage of relative humidity of 80% or more is 50% or less. Increase rate of heating load in the house was about 10% at maximum. As above, characteristics of hygrothermal behavior in the crawl space were clarify. And it was shown that supplying indoor air to the crawl space is effective for reduction of high humidity in the crawl space. The proposed method is effective only when indoor air is low humidity by air conditioner etc. But it is guessed that there are many people who use air conditioning in summer season. Therefore, it is believed that the method proposed in this research is important.
