This study evaluated the influence of curing method and storage condition on the microhardness of dual-cure resin cements : Panavia F 2.0 (PF) and Nexus 2 (NX). The specimens were either light-cured (LC) or chemically cured in darkness (CC). After 24 hours of storage in dry chamber (Dry) or distilled water (DW), the specimens were sectioned and polished. The microhardness of resin cement matrix was measured using a nanoindentation tester (ENT-1100). The data (n=6) were statistically analyzed with t-test, two-way ANOVA (p<0.05), and Tukey HSD test (α=.05). It was found that the factors of curing method and storage condition had significant effect on microhardness. For both PF and NX, LC presented higher microhardness than CC, while DW showed higher microhardness than Dry. In conclusion, dual-cure resin cements could achieve high degree of cure when light-cured. In addition, the microhardness of the resin cements evaluated did not decrease when kept in water.

現在のDVD-RAMは片面2.6GBであり,近い将来でもせいぜい4.7GB/片面一層のメモリ容量しか期待できない。現在強く求められている少なくとも2時間の動画像を記録再生できる15GBのメモリ容量で,かつ現在の10Mbps前後のデータ転送速度を大幅に高速化した100Mbpsを上回るデータ転送レートが可能な光ディスクシステムのキー部品である光ヘッドの新方式について述べる。本研究は高精細な動画像伝送や将来の家庭用の光通信網が整備された場合の伝送速度である100Mbpsから400Mbpsのビットレートで情報を記録再生できるVCSEL(垂直共振器半導体レーザー)アレイを記録ヘッドとしている。高密度化のためにはソニーが既に発表している二レンズ方式による対物レンズを採用し,かつ3×3のVCSELアレイを用いることにより従来に比べて9倍速のデータ転送レートの向上が期待できる。従来の点光源に対して本研究では面光源である為コリメーターレンズに像面湾曲収差を補正した両面非球面レンズを用い,対物レンズとしては球面収差を補正した高NAの非球面レンズの採用を提案している。

Two glucosides were isolated from the whole plant of Cistanche salsa (C.A. MZY.) G. BECK and their structures were established as 8-hydroxygeraniol-1-β-D-glucopyranoside, a new monoterpene glucoside, and 8-epiloganic acid on the basis of chemical and spectral data.

3.5Mpolygon/secの3DCGエンジン、15fps@QVGAのMPEG4 codecエンジン、最大2MpixelのJPEGエンジン、カメラI/F、SDカードI/F、LCD I/F、および20MbitのDRAMを1chipに集積した携帯機器向けメディアプロセッサT4Gの開発について述べる。3DCGエンジンは東芝のコンフィギュアラブルプロセッサMePを応用することにより実現されている。DRAMを内蔵したことにより、3Dエンジンとメモリ間のバンド幅は2GByte/secに達する。このチップでは、0.13um CMOS DRAM混載プロセスを使用し、20Mtransistorのロジックと20MbitのDRAMを集積した。3DCG処理時の最大消費電力は170mWである。A media processor named T4G is described. T4G integrates 3.5M polygon/sec 3D Graphic engine, 15fps@QVGA MPEG4 engine, 2M pixel JPEG engine and 20Mbit DRAM into a single chip. It also provides several peripheral interfaces such as Camera I/F and LCDC. The 3D graphics engine was designed based on a Toshiba's configurable processor MeP (Media embedded Processor). Using eDRAM, the bandwidth between the 3D engine and the frame buffer reaches 2GByte/sec. This chip is fabricated using 0.13um CMOS technology and consumes maximum 170mW during 3D graphics operation.

The effects of cooking pot material and heating conditions on the physical and chemical properties of rice gruel were studied. It was found difficult to adjust the heat input to rice gruel cooked in a yukihira nabe (earthen pot) when the temperature reached over 100℃ at the bottom of a pot. Rice gruel cooked rapidly was harder and stickier than when cooked slowly, particularly when a yukihira nabe was used as the pot. Rice gruel cooked slowly had a large amount of reducing sugar, mainly consisting of glucose. Rice gruel that was too sticky was not easy to swallow and was disliked. Rice gruel cooked in an aluminum pot was preferred to that in a yukihira nabe, although the application of the heat retaining method to the latter type of pot was effective.

本稿では, 高感度の電子ペンによって得られる一次元の筆圧情報に基づく, オンライン署名照合の一手法について述べる.提案するシステムではタブレットを使用しないため, 紙の上に通常のペンで文字を書く場合とほぼ同じ条件でデータを採取することができ, 比較的安定した情報を得ることができる.照合プロセスは2段階で構成される.第1段階では, パラメータ的手法を用いて署名データをストローク単位で対応付け, 明らかな偽筆を棄却する.第2段階では, 対応付けられた領域ごとに関数的手法による照合を行う.被験者31名から得た真署名775個, 偽署名1085個について個人認証実験を行った結果, 等誤り率11.1%が得られた.

病原性酵母Candida catenulata IFO 0745の細胞壁由来のマンノプロテインから、β-脱離反応(100mM NaOH、25℃、18時間処理)によって得られたO-結合型糖鎖の化学構造を同定した。この処理によって、精製マンノブロテインより3種のオリゴ糖(四糖、三糖、二糖)と単糖が遊離した。これらの生成物をBio-Gel P-2を用いたゲル濾過法によって分離精製後、^1H-NMR法で分析したところ、四糖、三糖および二糖は、すべてα結合マンノース残基から構成されるMan α 1-3Man α 1-2Man α 1-2Man、Man α 1-2Man α 1-2ManおよびMan α 1-2Manであり、単糖はD-マンノースであることが明らかになった。

When international exhibitions faced difficulties, the EXPO 2005 was succeeded in showing the continuous significance and a new model for international exhibitions or world fares. In order to emphasize and deepen the EXPO's theme "Nature's Wisdom" toward solving global problems and to stir citizens to action, a variety of experimental projects were conducted from four viewpoints: application of cutting-edge technologies; adoption of new social systems; participation by NGOs and citizens; sharing of diverse cultures and values. These experiments were deeply interconnected and served as a model for sustainable society. The EXPO 2005, which had a major impact on the mindset and behavior of over 22 million visitors, particularly young people, earned an international reputation as a "leading project" of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development from 2005 to 2014, which was proposed during the World Summit on Sustainable Development held in Johannesburg, South Africa, and adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2002. As a part of international exhibition movement, the EXPO 2005 is communicating its concepts and achievements at every opportunity in the international arena in order to realize the aim of contributing to the solution of global issues.

Nel trattato De propria vita di G. Cardano, che puo essere considerata un'opera autobiografica, si possono individuare tre tipi di sapienza:1. la sapienza per prosperare nella vita civile;2. 1a sapienza platonica;3. la sapienza aristotelica. Cioe i tre tipi di sapienza che esistevano nel Rinascimento e che Cardano stesso incarna:nel periodo di crisi spirituale del Rinascimento, occorre un tipo di sapienza "enciclopedica"che Cardano possiede. La sapienza per prosperare nella vita civile. E'la sapienza umanistica:per Cardano la regola piu importante e "ut diu ac bene vivas". Egli crede che il mantenere pura la propria virtu sia il nucleo della sapienza: per lui la virtu e il vivere lungamente e ottenere la fama sociale. Questa virtu, cioe la sua sapienza, deriva sia dalla sua condizione sociale nel XVI sec. sia dalla sua particolare personalita. La sapienza platonica. Diceva Cardano: "…sapientia, quibus nihil in homine divinus potest inveniri" e "omnis enim sapientia a Domino Deo est". Ma in verita e difficile trovare nello stesso Cardano un'edificazione spirituale. Piuttosto egli pensava a questa gerarchia: Sapientia Divina-Spiritus-Sapientia umana. Per lui lo Spiritus, mezzo spirituale fra il divino e l'umano, e il passaggio fondamentale. La sapienza aristotelica. E'quella fondata sull'esperienza. Cardano dava importanza alla sua esperienza di medico e alla tecnica medica piu che alla sapienza divina. Questo atteggiamento potrebbe essere il principio della scienza moderna ancora prima di Galileo. In realta per il suo credere ai miracoli e ai fenomeni soprannaturali, Cardano non puo essere definito uno "scienziato moderno".

Using the non-contact drive, the shaft-less centrifugal pump was developed. The most unique characteristics are that there is no shaft and bearing which contact water. The impeller rotates in independent condition without fluids force and magnetic force. Near the design point, the impeller rotates stable, but in low flow rate condition, the impeller can not keep stable. Therefore, the impeller oscillates vertical direction with contacting casing wall. In this study, we tried to control the attitude of floating impeller by use of the casing treatment. As a result, the influences of pump performance and pressure distribution on impeller attitude were made clear.

Torque was detected in a steel shaft with a ring-sharped surface by using a magneto-impedance effect sensors whose heads were placed on the two edges of a gutter in the ring-shaped surface. The hysteresis removal was done utilizing two different shapes of the hysteresis of torque detection at the two egges. A large pulse current was a priori applied through the shaft to induce circumferential magnetic anisotropy in order to remove the magnetic poles at the gutter edge for zero torque.
