Though cold pack is often made use of at home as well as at hospitals to reduce fever, it can be said that evidence showing that it is effective has not been reported. The purpose of this paper is to argue for the usefulness of cold pack in nursing and explore its effective application, presenting empirical data about how cold pack changes body temperature and affects sensation of coldness. Cooperated by healthy females, two types of cold pack treatments, that is, application of the ice pillow to the back part of the head and application of the ice bag to the bilateral axillary[?], were performed. In this experiment, the skin and deep temperatures of all subjects were measured and they were also asked to tell us how cold they felt. The result was that whereas both of the methods made the skin temperature go down alike, they showed a meaningful difference in effect of changing of the deep temperature, indicating that application of the ice bag to the bilateral axillary was more effective in falling the deep temerature. It was also shown that the use of the ice bag made subjects feel colder. The results thus seem to suggest that we feel more comfortable with the ice pillow applied to the back part of the head and that application of the ice bag to the bilateral axillary is more effective in falling body temperature.

がん疼痛治療を行う上で、薬物療法は有効な治療法で、医療用麻薬はその中心的な役割を果たす。医療用麻薬を適正に使用することは医師にとってはもちろん習得しなければならないスキルであるが、薬剤師の医療用麻薬使用における役割も今後いっそう重要性を増してくるものと思われる。昨今、外来におけるがん治療患者の増加に伴い、医療用麻薬を服用する患者が増え、外来での服薬指導の必要性を感じている。今回我々は、松江市の薬剤師(主に保険調剤薬局)を対象に医療用麻薬に関する意識調査を行った。その結果、89%の薬剤師が緩和ケアは身体的、精神的、社会的、スピリチュアルな苦痛の緩和を行う分野であるということを認識しており、概念的には理解されていることが明らかになった。しかし問題点として、疼痛の評価・服薬指導の不十分さ、医療用麻薬への偏見、医療用麻薬の正しい知識の習得、薬薬連携、医師との連携の必要性が浮き彫りになり、「緩和ケアの充実」に対しては、患者・家族・医療者への啓発が挙げられた。薬剤師による服薬指導は、患者がより安心してがん疼痛治療に望むことができるためには重要で、保険調剤薬局と病院薬剤師がより密に連携を取ることが必要であり、さらに処方する医師との連携も重要であると思われる。

H2S-NO2-SO2-Cl2環境での銀に対して,新しい大気腐食メカニズムを提案した.銀の大気腐食は,環境中の硫化水素H2Sが二酸化窒素NO2により酸化され生じた還元性硫黄S8による化学反応,この反応で余剰したH2S,NO2が溶解した銀表面の水膜中での電気化学反応により進行する.大気腐食メカニズムに基づき,温湿度,汚染ガスとしてH2S,NO2,Cl2をパラメータに,銀の腐食速度式を提案した.この速度式を公開されている銀の腐食データ110件に適用して,腐食ガス試験環境,実暴露試験環境における銀の大気腐食速度は2倍以内の誤差で推定された.

本論文では、クリティカル・シンキングが「道理性」を旨とし、「最適解」の主要なオルガノンであることを論じる。まずはアリストテレスまで遡り、 道理性の起源を探ってみる(第1節)。次に、現在の哲学系クリティカル・ シンキングについての概要を与え(第2節)、これを道理性の概念と結び付 けて論じる(第3節)。更に、最適解とその導出について論じ(第4節)、 この技法をクリティカル・シンキングと教育(いわゆる「新しい能力」)と に結び付けて論じる(第 5・6 節)。最後に、以上を踏まえて、今後の課題 を提示する。

This paper highlights some challenges for improving Japanese students' intercultural communication skills. Acquiring English communication skills has been the target of English education in Japan for the last 20 years. However, some recent statistic studies show that Japanese people's communication and negotiation skills do not meet the demands of globalized world. This peper emphasizes the importance of understading the way Japanese people behave their favored communication style from the perspectives of their cultural values. This paper aims to clarify the characteristics of Japanese patterns of behavior, utilizing Hofstede's Cultural Dimentions Theory, and suggests some important and influential factors for English teachers to consider in teaching communication skills to Japanese students.

The intention of this study is to reconstruct the designs of 16 sorts of textiles in the Shoso-in whose techniques are various such as twill weave silk, brocade, and painting in colors, on the basis of close investigation. In the course of this research, some inportant points are clarified. For instance, it is clarified that the coloring of Bakufu-Saieno- Hanpi jacket corresponds to a typical Ungen coloring of the Japanese Nara era.

マムシグサ群は長い偽茎と, 葉軸の発達する鳥足状小葉により特徴づけられるテンナンショウ属マムシグサ節sect.Pedatisectaの一群である。形態的に多型であり, 多くの分類群が記載されてきたが, 遺伝的には分化がきわめて小さいことが明らかになっている。また, 群内で認められた形態群間に低頻度ではあるが中間型がある, 自然雑種がある, F_1雑種の花粉稔性が低下しない, など雑種形成を通じて遺伝的な交流があることを示唆する状況証拠もある。しかし一方では, 多くの場所で, 異なる形態群が形態上の差異を保ちつつ同所的に分布しているのも事実である。本稿では, 低頻度の中間型を除いた場合, マムシグサ群内にどのような形態群が認められ, どのような分布を示すかについて現在までの知見をまとめることを試みた。また, 認めた形態群に関して発表されている学名との対応を試みた。マムシグサ群を, 花期が遅く, 仏炎苞が葉よりも遅く展開し, 舷部内面に細かい縦皺がある第1亜群(カントウマムシグサ亜群), 花期が早く, 仏炎苞が葉よりも早く展開し, 舷部内面が平滑な第2亜群(マムシグサ亜群), 花期や仏炎苞展開のタイミングがそれらの中間的で, 舷部内面や辺縁にしばしば微細な突起を生ずる第3亜群(ホソバテンナンショウ亜群)に大別する。第1群にはカントウマムシグサ(トウゴクマムシグサ), ミクニテンナンショウ, コウライテンナンショウ, ハチジョウテンナンショウ, オオマムシグサ(イズテンナンショウ, ヤマグチテンナンショウ), ヤマトテンナンショウ, ヤマザトマムシグサ, ヤマジノテンナンショウ, スズカマムシグサ, 第2群には, マムシグサ(ヤクシマテンナンショウ), ヒトヨシテンナンショウ, タケシママムシグサ, 第3群にはホソバテンナンショウ, ミャママムシグサ, ウメガシマテンナンショウ, "中国地方型のホソバテンナンショウ", などが認められる。しかし, 現地調査はまだ不十分なものであり, フェノロジーやポリネーターに関することも含め, より詳細な検討が必要である。

Japan is the only country that has implemented a nation-wide measure for functional disability leading to long-term care needs in old ages. Thus, there are no previous national trials that we can refer to. Whether its disability prevention measure succeeds or not will depend on our own efforts toward the future. In this paper, I will overview a 10-year experience with the disability prevention program launched in 2006, and then will point out the relevant issues in realizing the prevention of functional disability in old ages for exercise and sports scientists.

Abstract: In the Middle Ages, it was discussed, whether Christ had laughed, or not. Laughter was prohibited particularly in monasteries. Misericords, which are carvings under the seats of choirs in the churches, however, are decorated by humorous motives. The world of secular humor has thus entered into the holy areas. This paper searches for the reason. The reasons may be associated with the marginal decorations of the manuscripts. The margins of Book of Hours and Breviary are zrnamented by fantastic motifs. These motifs may have been cited from the secular festivals.
