The Remote Associates Test (RAT) is one of the most popular tasks in experimental studies of insight in psychological and neuroscience studies. Since the RAT was originally developed for English-speaking countries, we developed a Japanese version of the RAT. This paper provides a brief overview of the structure of the task based on chunk decomposition using Japanese kanji characters and a list of sets of words as experimental stimuli, with representative data for experimental studies of insight.

Background: Aortic artery disease (AAD), such as aortic dissection or aortic aneurysm rupture, is fatal, with an extremely high mortality. Because of its low incidence, the risk for the development of AAD has not yet been elucidated. Hypertension (HT) is an established risk factor for cardiovascular disease, but there has been no prospective study on the effect of HT on AAD-related mortality. Methods and Results: We used a nationwide database of 276,197 subjects (aged 40–75 years) who participated in the annual “Specific Health Check and Guidance in Japan” from 2008 to 2010. There were 80 AAD-related deaths during the follow-up period of 1,049,549 person-years. On multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression, HT was an independent risk factor for AAD-related death in apparently healthy subjects. On receiver operating characteristics curve analysis for AAD-related death, abnormal systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP and DBP) were 130 mmHg and 82 mmHg, respectively. The prediction capacity was significantly improved by the addition of SBP to confounding risk factors. Notably, further improvement of the C index was observed by addition of DBP to the model with SBP. Conclusions: This is the first report to prospectively show that HT is a risk factor for AAD-related death. Both SBP and DBP are of critical importance in the primary prevention of AAD-related death in apparently healthy subjects.

The release rates of Ca, Mg and K from six green manure (clotararia, pigeon pea, sesbania, guinia grass, sorghum and oats) and three composts prepared from poultry manure, cattle feces and sugar-cane leaves were measured. Green manure and composts wrapped in glass-fiber filter paper were placed in Ap horizon of a Dark Red soil and analyzed for Ca, Mg and K after 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. In addition, the chemical forms of Ca, Mg and K in the original organic materials were characterized by successive extraction with water, 1 tool L^<-1> NaCl, 2% acetic acid and 0.6 mol L^<-1>HCl. For all the materials, more than 90% of K and Mg was water soluble and water plus 1 mol L^<-1> NaCl soluble, respectively, whereas the water-soluble fraction was variable for Ca, ranging from 4 to 68%. The release rate followed the order of K>Mg>Ca for all the materials, reflecting the proportion of water-soluble fraction. For three bases, the release rate was higher for the green manure than for the composts. The amount of K released from the materials in the first 1 month was highly correlated with the water-soluble K, giving the regression of y=1.04χ-0.04 (r=0.99^<**>), where χ and y stand for the amounts of water-soluble K and released K, respectively. Similar relations with lower correlation coefficients were found for Mg, y=1.02χ+0.03 (r=0.84^<**>), and Ca, y-0.67χ+0.08 (r=0.78^*).

地球的規模で対応が必要なエネルギー・環境問題に対し,技術的ブレークスルーによる解決を目指すため,通産省工業技術院はこれまで実施してきたエネルギー分野に関するサンシャイン計画とムーンライト計画,および地球環境に関する技術開発制度を統合し,平成5年度より新たに「ニューサンシヤイン計画」(エネルギー・環境領域総合技術開発推進計画)を発足さ:せ,持続的成長とエネルギー・環境問題の同時解決を目指した革新的技術開発を重点的に推進することとした. ニューサンシャイン計画において,実用化段階に近づきつつある技術開発を加速的に推進することに.よりエネルギー供給ポテンシャルの増大を図るとともに,各種技術開発成果を糾合した革新的複合システム技術の開発を推進することなどにより,来たる21世紀のエネルギー・環境問題の解決に対し之大きく寄与することが期待される.

メタノール水溶液を溶媒とした吸収油の液液抽出に対して,連続式向流接触スプレー塔型の抽出装置を適用した。スプレー塔は構造が簡素であることから,塔内の物質移動現象を検討するのに適している。まず,物質移動係数の算出に必要となる吸収油─メタノール水溶液間の液液平衡を実測し既往の結果と比較した。本報で得られた液液平衡関係と既往の結果とは良好に一致し結果の再現性,信頼性を確認した。ついで,スプレー塔による液液抽出における操作性ならびに分離性について検討した。連続(抽出)相に比較して分散(抽残)相の密度は十分大きく良好な向流接触操作が可能であり,本報の範囲においては分散相の飛まつ同伴やフラッディングは観察されなかった。0.5 mほどの研究室規模のスプレー塔により十分な物質移動が検出され,塔内の物質移動現象の検討が可能であった。同素環化合物など吸収油中の他の成分に比較して含窒素複素環式化合物が選択的に抽出され,これらの成分の分離が可能であった。また,この分離は平衡関係に基く分離であった。本スプレー塔において,含窒素複素環式化合物の収率および分離の選択性は,最高でそれぞれ0.4および30程度であった。連続(抽出)相流量の増加とともに,総括物質移動係数は増加し,連続相側に物質移動抵抗が存在した。<br>

<p>近年,医学学術雑誌や各種診療情報のデジタル化が進み,その利用環境は大きく変化している。本稿では,2013年から直近までの神奈川県立病院機構における医療情報の整備状況を報告し,病院における医学情報整備の課題を検討する。段階的にオンラインジャーナル等の契約改善に取り組んだ結果,オンラインジャーナルの契約誌数が約3倍に増加した。しかしながら,医師らへのアンケートでは,その満足度は十分とはいえない。その理由として一部を除いて,医学情報を管理する図書室は体系的に整備されていない。今後も価格高騰,病院向けの医学・学術情報の維持・管理,及びコンソーシアムを含めた包括的な議論が必要である。</p>

本研究は、日露戦後の大韓帝国の国際的地位が何ゆえ如何に変化したのかを、日韓両国間の研究者ネットワークに基づき、日本、韓国、および関係各国の史料の収集による実証的かつ斬新な視角による総合的研究である。成果は、(1)包括的史料収集によって新たな決定的史料集完成への展望を開き、(2)2010年8月29日に「韓国併合に関する国際的シンポジウム」(非公開)を開催し、(3)この成果を2011年度中に論文集として、史料集と併せて刊行する予定である。
