Spiders are nearly omnipresent in tropical regions, throughout a vast range of habitats, where they act as top predators of other invertebrates. On islands, spiders may assume the role of larger mainland predators in regulating invertebrate populations. This study documents a novel predator-prey interaction between the wandering spider Ancylometes bogotensis and the land crab Gecarcinus quadratus on Coiba Island Panama Pacific. We briefly discuss the ecological implications of this predator-prey relationship and the potential influence of marine subsidies on the island’s terrestrial ecosystem.

わが国古墳時代に, 「直弧文」という独特な文様がある。なぜか他国にその類例がなく, また6世紀後半以後, 国内にもそれを伝承するものはみられない。その定形は装飾古墳の石障, 石棺などに施されたもので, 正方形に近い方形を枠として, その2本の対角線と, 帯状のテープがからみ合った図柄である。また貝輪などの装飾に施されたものは, 方形の枠はなく, 不整形な文様となっている。その構成はひじょうに複雑であり, しかも動きの表現, とくにほとんどが回転運動をあらわしている。ここではそれらの代表的な作例3点について, できるだけ具体的に, 分析, 考察して, その特質を明らかにしようとする試みを述べる。

患者及び家族の苦痛へ介入し,QOL(quality of life)向上を図るアプローチである緩和ケアは,本邦において,がん領域で先行して進められてきたが,慢性の進行性疾患である心不全でもそのニーズは存在し,提供されるべき医療である.本稿では,心不全の緩和ケアの概念及びその実践における主たる課題である,意思決定支援及び症状緩和の方法論に関する現状を述べる.

科学の健全な発展のためには,科学や研究における適切な行動規範,研究倫理が重要である.科学の行動規範や研究倫理は記述的であり,それらを包括して理解するための理論的枠組みの検討は研究倫理に関する議論を深めるための重要な基礎的作業である.本研究では科学の営みとその倫理の関係性を捉えるための理論的枠組みを模索し検討するために,科学における倫理的行動について定式化を行った.倫理や規範に関する行動(文化形質)と,科学コミュニティへの所属・アイデンティティの認識に焦点を当てて定式化し,これらの関係性についてマトリクス形式での整理と解釈を検討した.また,倫理的立場の違いや規範とアイデンティティの衝突について議論できる可能性や,科学的活動のプロジェクトにおいて倫理的行動を取るための方策の議論やシミュレーション研究への発展の可能性など,本研究の発展可能性について検討した.

本研究は,日本で行われている人間作業モデル(以下,MOHO)に基づく作業療法実践の特徴を検討することを目的とした.方法は日本で発表されたMOHOを用いた事例報告を対象に計量テキスト分析を行い,テキストデータからMOHO実践の特徴を捉えた.その結果,最も多く実践で用いられる治療戦略は“明らかにする”であった.また,日本のMOHO実践は7つのカテゴリに分類された.これらのカテゴリのなかでも,クライアントと作業の関係性を明らかにすることに重きを置いていた.実践家はMOHOにより明らかになった作業を基にクライアントの支援を組み立てていた.

ヒトパルボウイルスB19は,小児における伝染性紅斑の原因ウイルスであるが,その他にウイルス直接の障害として,溶血性貧血患者におけるaplastic crisisや免疫不全者における慢性赤芽球癆や胎児水腫の原因となる.また,免疫学的な機序として関節炎や急性糸球体腎炎を発症することが判明している.その他に,関節リウマチや,血管炎,血栓性微小血管障害などとの関連を指摘する報告もある.成人発症例では,関節炎の遷延化により関節リウマチとの鑑別や,補体の低下や自己抗体が検出されることから全身性エリテマトーデスとの鑑別も要する.このように様々な疾患との関連が報告されている感染症であり,また臨床面ではリウマチ膠原病疾患との鑑別を要する重要疾患である.

食肉検査時に発見された豚の子宮腫瘍16例を病理解剖学的, 病理組織学的および免疫組織化学的に検査した.腫瘍を認めた豚はすべて2~4歳の繁殖豚で, 単発性が9例, 多発性が7例で, ほとんどが子宮角に存在していた.腫瘍細胞は束状および渦巻状配列を示し, 交錯していた.核は楕円形から長楕円形で, 両端が鈍であった.免疫染色では全症例の腫瘍細胞が, α-平滑筋アクチンとデスミンに対し陽性反応を示し, 15症例中13症例がビメンチンに陽性であった.これらの成績から検索した子宮腫瘍はすべて平滑筋由来と考えられた.一般に腫瘍細胞の核分裂像は目立たなかったが, 強拡大で10視野あたり4~5個みられる症例が1例あった.増殖細胞核抗原陽性細胞は, 0~85%とさまざまであった.他臓器への転移がなく, 核分裂像も少ないことから, すべての症例を良性腫瘍と診断した.

葉の形態形成のように、現象論的に複雑な生命現象について、その仕組みを理解するためには、形態形成の過程を時間、空間、遺伝子の3つの次元に展開する発生遺伝学という手法は、きわめて有効である。しかし、形態と遺伝子とは遠く乖離しているため、形態学と遺伝学のみを組み合わせた発生遺伝学だけでは、その理解はすぐに限界に到達してしまう。そこで発生遺伝学は、必然的に生理学や生化学、生物物理学の手法をも積極的に取り入れることが求められる。さらに、形態形成の進化までを視点にいれれば、研究は必然的に隣接領域との複合的なものとならざるを得ない。葉の形態形成の仕組みを理解するため、現在とりうる研究手法の現状と、今後の展望について考察した。

Although many chatbot applications have been proposed to support mental health care, the effective interaction design for chatbots to assist positive thinking for problem-solving without relying on the content of individual consultation is not clear. In this paper, we developed a chatbot application that can perform conversation tasks based on the Miracle Question, a method of the solution-focused approach. Then we validated that solution-focused interactive task on chatbot helps improve well-being index and active behavior. As a result, the results did not confirm that the proposed conversation task significantly improved the scores on each scale. However, when compared to existing tasks for behavior activation support, the proposed task tended to have a positive effect on improving well-being scores. Our finding has implications for the methodology and difficulties in supporting personal problem-solving based on minimal design.

Nasal obstruction is evaluated by several methods, such as measurement of nasal resistance with a nasomanometer and of nasal capacity by acoustic rhinometry, while in everyday life nasal obstruction is sometimes impressed (evaluated) by an acoustic clue, i.e. hearing the voice.In this study the possibility that acoustic impression allows evaluation of nasal obstruction was examined in normal volunteers and patients who underwent sinus surgery. The acoustic impression of nasal obstruction, the nasal flow resistance and the nasal cavity volume were compared with self-evaluation values of obstruction. The coincidence rate of evaluation by acoustic impression is equal to that of the nasal flow resistance. Acoustic analysis of the humming sound suggests a possibility that the nasal obstruction indicator is in the regions below 800Hz and above 3000Hz.

Larval transport by adult Lasius morisitai was observed in nests of L. morisitai in a single tree of Abies sachalinensis in Obihiro, Hokkaido, Japan. Larval transport was observed on 21 June and from 29 September to 7 October 2022 during the day (8:00-11:00am and around 3:30pm), just after sunset (around 5:00pm), and at night (8:00-10:00pm).

要検討及びその他農薬48物質について大阪市の水源である淀川水系及び浄水処理過程における実態調査を行ったところ、本市水源に要検討及びその他農薬が流入していることが確認された。また、そのオゾン、塩素及び粒状活性炭(以下、GAC)による処理性を調査したところ、オゾン処理及び塩素処理では分解しにくい物質が多く存在した。GAC 処理では、水温によらず一定の除去が期待できた。よって、オゾン処理と粒状活性炭処理を組み合わせることで、農薬類を効果的に除去できることが確認できた。

This article is broadly concerned with the individual differences among language learners. In terms of particular content areas of Individual Differences (ID) research, it surveys developments in foreign language aptitude, motivation and affective factors, and interaction of learners' aptitudes and teaching methods which is called Aptitude Treatment Interaction (ATI). A brief review of theory of second language acquisition is presented, followed by discussions of research on aptitude. Motivation research is reviewed partly with regard to Gardner's research, followed by other researches including those in Japan. Finally, the review of ATI research are presented to emphasize attempts to investigate adaptive education to individual differences. The article concludes with a section on future issues in ID research in Japan.
