筆者は談話展開の方法の地域差は,話者が情報内容を効果的に伝えるために相手に送る談話標識に反映されていると考え,談話標識の出現傾向から談話展開の地域差について研究を進めてきた。本稿では,この立場から東京方言,大阪方言の高年層話者における説明的談話を量的に分析し,さらに,仙台方言と比較することで,三つの方言の違いを明らかにする。分析の結果,仙台方言は自分が発話権を持つことをアピールし,相手との情報共有を積極的に働きかけていく方言であることがわかった。一方,大阪方言はそうした相手に対する働きかけは消極的であり,話の進行を単純にマークしつつ,自分で納得することに主眼を置く方言であると考えられた。東京方言は総合的に見て,両者の中間に位置するが,仙台方言により近い面をもっていると判断することができた。

This study is based mainly on the ancient documents of Imperial Household Shinto, and Chinese Classics such as Li-Chi. The most significant ritual for the enthronement of the emperor is Dai-Jo Sai. And the main stage of this event, Daijo Kyu, is a temporary sacred place set in a kind of time and space that is different from that of the ordinary world. Each of the two central pavilions placed in the sacred place is Yuki (or Suki) Shoden. The Shoden is formed of the two rooms named Shitsu and Do. These architectural structures are looked on as proper to Japan. This paper is a study about the form and the function of these two rooms as compared with the systems of ancestral temples in ancient China. In conclusion, it may be said that we can find some Chinese influences on the structures of the Shoden.

The purpose of this study is to reveal how alien species are dealt with in textbooks about living environment studies, science, and biology from elementary to high school. From an analysis of students’ responses in lessons about alien species, possibilities and points to be noted for executing science lessons about biodiversity in elementary school were also examined. As a result, the following three points were identified.(1) The textbooks checked in this study have a total of 126 kinds of alien species, of which 10 are alien invasive species, and 23 are careful invasive species.(2) The textbooks have some description of how to cope with the problem of invasive species for most of alien invasive species; they also and have descriptons suggesting that their multiplication and release are encouraged, wheras there is little description about careful invasive species. (3)There are lessons that we had suggested to the students for proper understanding of alien species, indicating that lessons that encourage understanding of alien species in elementary school are possible. We have to examine opportunities and contents for doing so.

マルコポー口の「東方見聞録」は, 13世紀末の25年間にわたるシルクロード周辺地域を含む元朝中国や南海諸島でつくられていた酒とその飲酒風俗を現在に伝える貴重な資料である。著者は, 同書に記録された酒の種類や製法, 地域などの情報から, ユーラシア大陸における酒文化圏の形成を次の類型から説明した。(1) ユーラシア大陸ワイン街道, (2) 米酒文化圏, (3) 乳酒文化圏, (4) 椰子酒文化圏, これらの酒文化圏をマルコポー口の旅行地図上に印した,「酒文化圏マップ」(Fig.1) は, 著者の独創史料である。

Texture terms play an important role in food texture studies, especially in sensory evaluation. A well-organized texture lexicon assists researchers with sensory evaluation of texture. In this study, Japanese texture terms were collected, characterized, and classified in order to develop a texture lexicon. First, 445 texture terms in Japanese were collected from questionnaires to food scientists/technologists, literature searches, and interviews with experts. Next, foods associated with the 445 Japanese texture terms were collected and analyzed. The spatial configuration of the terms showed the structure of the Japanese texture vocabulary. The terms were then classified hierarchically by questionnaires and multivariate analyses. The classification in this study revealed some characteristics unique to the Japanese texture vocabulary, such as a wide variety of terms concerned with stickiness and elasticity. Additionally, the food texture vocabularies of Japanese consumers were investigated through questionnaires. The data showed that the recognition of some terms differed according to the gender, age and/or region of consumers. Some factors, such as eating experiences and dialect usage, could explain the reason behind these differences. The data obtained in this study can be applied to preliminary lexicon sources of descriptive sensory evaluation, and can provide useful clues to the understanding of Japanese texture terms.

本研究では,森林の孤立化が非飛翔性哺乳類の種組成に与える影響について明らかにすることを目的とした.調査対象地を,森林の孤立化の程度により,3つの孤立傾度(山地林,連続林,孤立林)に分類し,各孤立傾度あたり3ヶ所の調査地を選定した.2005年と2006年の4∼10月にかけて獣道に自動撮影カメラを設置し,非飛翔性哺乳類の種組成および存在量を分析した.各調査地における種の出現の有無をnMDSおよびクラスター分析により分析したところ,生息地利用タイプは(1)山地林に高い頻度で出現する山地性種,(2)山地林および連続林に出現する丘陵地性種,(3)山地林,連続林,孤立林のいずれにも出現する広域性種,(4)山地林および連続林に局所的に出現する局所性種の4タイプに分類された.また,孤立傾度が高まるにつれて種の豊富さは減少した.そのため,山地林や連続林は種の供給源として機能し,孤立林はジェネラリストの重要な生息地として機能する.生態的ネットワーク計画において,山地林や連続林はコアエリアとして作用し,孤立林はジェネラリスト的な哺乳類の拠点地区として作用すると考えられる.

クラスタリングは機械学習および人工知能の分野において重要なタスクである.確率論的生成モデルは効率的な推論のためにはデータに対して強い仮定が必要であり,混合ガウスモデル(GMM)を用いたクラスタリングには特徴エンジニアリングが必要であった.ここ数年,Variational Autoencoder(VAE)とGMMを組み合わせたモデルで複雑なデータをクラスタリングする研究が注目されている.本稿では深層混合モデル(DMM)を提案する. DMMでは,まず潜在的なベクトルがGMMにより生成され、次に潜在ベクトルが観測データに変換される.DMMは結合尤度の下限を最大化することで訓練される.実験では,提案モデルは,GMMによってクラスタリングすることが困難なデータのベースラインの手法と比較して最も良い性能を示した.

We propose a super-resolution (SR) simulation system that consists of a physics-based meteorological simulation and an SR method based on a deep convolutional neural network (CNN). The CNN is trained using pairs of high-resolution (HR) and low-resolution (LR) images created from meteorological simulation results for different resolutions so that it can map LR simulation images to HR ones. The proposed SR simulation system, which performs LR simulations, can provide HR prediction results in much shorter operating cycles than those required for corresponding HR simulation prediction system. We apply the SR simulation system to urban micrometeorology, which is strongly affected by buildings and human activity. Urban micrometeorology simulations that need to resolve urban buildings are computationally costly and thus cannot be used for operational real-time predictions even when run on supercomputers. We performed HR micrometeorology simulations on a supercomputer to obtain datasets for training the CNN in the SR method. It is shown that the proposed SR method can be used with a spatial scaling factor of 4 and that it outperforms conventional interpolation methods by a large margin. It is also shown that the proposed SR simulation system has the potential to be used for operational urban micrometeorology predictions.

The aim of the present study was to examine whether dietary salt restriction guidance is beneficial for dietary salt restriction and lowering of home blood pressure in patients with diabetes with excessive salt intake. We performed an intervention trial of 37 people with type 2 diabetes and excessive salt intake. National registered dietitians provided dietary salt restriction guidance to each patient at the start of the study. All participants were instructed to perform triplicate morning and evening home blood pressure measurements using home blood pressure telemonitoring system. Daily salt intake at 2 months and 6 months was significantly lower than that at baseline; the difference was 0.8 [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.2–1.4, p = 0.009] g and 0.7 (95% CI: 0.1–1.3, p = 0.009) g, respectively. Morning systolic blood pressure at 2 months and 6 months was significantly lower than that at baseline; the difference was 2.7 (95% CI: 0.2–5.1, p = 0.034) mmHg and 5.8 (95% CI: 0.5–11.1, p = 0.034) mmHg, respectively. This intervention study revealed, for the first time, that dietary salt restriction guidance provided by a national registered dietitian is beneficial for reducing daily salt intake and home blood pressure in people with diabetes with excessive salt intake.

The consumption of vegetables and fruits rich in potassium (K), such as melons and strawberries, is restricted in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. Therefore, we attempted to produce low-K strawberry fruits through management of a KNO3 fertilizer in nutrient solution from anthesis to the harvest period. A general trend of decreasing K content in fruit was observed with the decrease of KNO3 concentration in the nutrient solution. Among four strawberry cultivars, the fruit of the ‘Toyonoka’ exhibited a K reduction of about 64% when plants were grown in nutrient solution with KNO3 at 1/16 of the normal level. Citric acid and ascorbic acid contents of ‘Toyonoka’ fruit were reduced with decreasing KNO3 concentrations in the nutrient solution. Although the reduced NO3− of the nutrient solution was adjusted by using Ca(NO3)2 to obtain low-K strawberries, growth, yield and quality did not vary with this adjustment. Compared with the typical level of K in strawberry fruit of 170 mg/100 g FW (Standard Tables of Food Composition in Japan, 2011), a 23.5% decrease (130 mg/100 g FW) in K was found in 1/32 level of KNO3. The K contents of plant parts suggested that the low KNO3 level was responsible for the low K absorption, which may have affected the translocation and accumulation of K into fruit. Therefore, 1/32 level of KNO3 in nutrient solution lowers the fruit K content considerably.
