It is important to secure running safety of railway vehicles against wheel-climb derailment accidents. The safety is often discussed according to the value of derailment coefficients for the leading outside wheel of a railway bogie running on sharp curves. Therefore, the detailed force induced mechanism which influences the value of derailment coefficients should be clarified. One of the most dominant factors affecting the value of derailment coefficients is magnitudes of the coefficient of friction (COF) between wheel and rail. Since the gauge corner of the outer rail and the top of the inner rail are lubricated at some sharp curves, COF of wheels of a bogie are different from each other and show complicated variation. In this study, the effect of lubrication for the running safety of the railway bogie is investigated while considering the detailed force induced mechanism of the derailment coefficient increase utilizing both multibody dynamics simulations and experiments. Experiments and simulations are conducted with a roller-rig test equipment under various conditions of wheel/rail lubrication. In this research, a method to identify whether the bogie is in suitably lubricated condition in terms of running safety is discussed. The proposed method making use of the longitudinal force measurement with mono-link type axle supporting device is mentioned.

In this paper I propose a thematic exploration of the biblical book of Lamentations in light of the literature of survival that has arisen in response to the nuclear devastation of Nagasaki at the end of World War II. My guiding expectations are twofold. First, I am convinced that the uniqueness of this body of literature, once brought into the hermeneutical conversation of scholars and researchers, will open up new interpretive possibilities for understanding the book of Lamentations. Second, I believe that the book of Lamentations, itself a sequence of poems forged in the fires of survival, will, once read in the shadow of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, have its own unique poetic balm to offer Japanese people.

近年, 多雪地帯においてはカラー鉄板を使った屋根が普及してきたが, この屋根は雪との摩擦が小さいことから, 多くの家で雪止めをつけないでそのまま自然に雪を落す方法がとられるようになった.この屋根の使用によって, 雪おろしの労力が省かれる利点がある一方, 雪の滑落による危険性もあわせて存在する.このような屋根の普及にもかかわらず, この自然落下法の欠点についてはこれまで十分検討されてこなかった.<BR>1974年以来新潟県長岡市, 十日町市, 津南町の三地区でカラー鉄板を使用した76軒の屋根の冬期における状況の調査を行った.<BR>この調査から次の三つの結果が得られた.<BR>(1) 新潟地方を襲った1975年1月9日~1月13日および1976年1月18日~1月24日の豪雪においては, 屋根の勾配に関係なく, カラー鉄板を使った屋根に多量の雪が積もった.これは積雪が屋根表面に凍りついたためである.<BR>(2) 降雪後温度が上昇すると, 急激な滑落が起り6m以上も雪が屋根から飛ばされた.<BR>(3) 十日町市で起った事故から屋根面と積雪間の0℃以上の摩擦係数が推定され, その値は約0.1であった.

<p> 発達障害児者が地域でスポーツ活動に参加する機会は依然として十分でないことが指摘されている(Yoshioka、Uchida、Shigeto & Yamato、2016)。特に、中学生以降になると、学校のクラブ活動や地域のスポーツクラブに参加することが困難であるケースも多く、運動する機会がより一層少なくなるという保護者の声がある。本研究は、このような声を受けてボランティアで始められたスポーツプログラムへの継続的な参加が対象者の生活機能にもたらす影響と課題について、ICF(国際生活機能分類)モデルに当てはめて考察することを目的とした。結果、8年間に亘る活動は、対象者にスポーツという「活動」を提供し、「できる活動」を見つける機会になっているとともに、スポーツに「参加」するという生活機能に寄与していると考えられ、一部の身体機能・能力の改善、スポーツ参加への意欲(個人因子)にもつながっていることが示唆された。一方で、肥満(健康状態)や就労の継続(社会参加)、異性とのコミュニケーションに寄与できていないケースも明らかになり、プログラムにおける課題や対象者ごとの目標を再検討する必要性が示された。</p>

<p>The aim of this study was to investigate how general health, oral conditions, and lifestyle were associated with periodontal disease in adults, as clarifying this relationship may be useful in preventing periodontal disease. Medical checkups were conducted on individuals aged 40, 50, or 60 years. Data were obtained for analysis on a total of 36,110 patients (men, 12,784; women, 22,896). A stepwise logistic regression model was used to calculate the odds ratio (OR) for patients who were ≥code 3 according to the Community Periodontal Index (CPI). Approximately 40, 60, and 70% of men aged 40, 50, and 60 years, respectively, had a CPI score of ≥3. There were 10% fewer women than men at each age. Stepwise logistic regression revealed a BMI score of ≥30 kg/m²(OR, 1.44; 95% confidence interval [95%CI], 1.20–1.73); systolic blood pressure of ≥140 mmHg (OR, 1.09; 95%CI, 1.02–1.18); a fasting blood sugar level of ≥110 mg/dl (OR, 1.17; 95%CI, 1.04–1.30); high-density lipoprotein cholesterol level of <40 mg/dl (OR, 1.21; 95%CI, 1.06–1.37); smoker (OR, 1.59; 95%CI, 1.48–1.71); drinking ≥3 cups of Japanese <i>sake</i> per day (OR, 1.09; 95%CI, 1.05–1.14); use of salts for seasoning (OR, 1.17; 95%CI, 1.07–1.28); and fair and poor oral hygiene (OR, 2.27; 95%CI, 2.08–2.47) as significant risk factors for a CPI score of ≥3. These results suggest that smoking, oral hygiene status, and factors associated with metabolic syndrome are associated with periodontitis. This indicates that health guidance on tooth brushing, the importance of quitting smoking, and control of obesity may be effective in preventing the development of periodontal disease in adults.</p>

It has been reported that the physical character of the diet influences on the periodontium, and soft food has a tendency to cause gingivitis more than hard food. On the other hand, sucrose has an important role for plaque formation, and so it seems logical to consider that sucrose may also have an influence to cause gingivitis, but very few study has performed to clarify the relationship betwees sucrose and gingivitis. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of the soft food containing sucrose on the gingiva and to establish an experimental method to cause gingivitis quickly with food control. One adult male Macaca irus monkey was used and the schedule of this experiment was as follows : 1. Preliminaly period (12 days, Hard food, Scaling and Brushing on every 2 days) 2. Control period (30 days, Soft food without sucrose) 3. Preliminaly period (12 days, Hard food, Scaling and Brushing on every 2 days) 4. Experimental period (30 days, Soft food with 20% sucrose) The result of this study indicated that the gingival inflammation during the experimental period was developed more severly and more fast than that of the control period.

【要旨】 近年、うつ病の病態を捉えるために、種々の画像解析手法を用いて脳機能を直接測定しようとする研究が精力的に行われている。これらの研究結果から、様々な生理的な機能を持つ神経回路やそれらの回路の相互作用がうつ病の症状形成に関与していると考えられる。本稿では、われわれが機能的磁気共鳴画像法(fMRI)を用いてうつ病の認知に関わる神経生理学的基盤を明らかにするために行っている研究結果を中心に紹介する。まず、ストレスがうつ病の発症や症状持続に様々な作用を及ぼしていることから、ストレスの認知の性差について検討し、前頭前野、扁桃体が重要な働きをしていることを明らかにした。次に、既に妥当性や機能局在が明らかになっている神経心理課題や新たにうつ病の認知的特徴に関連して作成した認知課題を用いて、うつ病の脳活動の変化について明らかにした。さらに、これらの脳機能変化は治療反応性や回復の指標となる可能性について検証した。また、セロトニンのヒトの脳における神経生理学的役割に着目し、セロトニンは線条体-前頭前野回路を介して報酬の見通しを制御することを明らかにした。これらの研究結果を踏まえ、うつ病の認知、病態、治療に関わる神経生理学的基盤について考察した。

In recent years, "work-style reform" has been receiving attention and pursued from not only labor laws, but also standpoints of environmental improvement and a support of workers. The environmental improvement of flexible work-style utilizing ICT is also a large issue due to an acceleration of a teleworkings' popularity, "a flexible work-style regardless of time and locations utilizing ICT", and lifting a ban in part-time jobs and side jobs, etc.Targeting at perceiving a work-life balance is a main stream in teleworking of our country. Mainly, companies are commonly positioned in using benefits policies such as permitting working from home in 1 to 2 days a week for employees who are difficult to balance with commuting in order to perform childcare or nursing care, etc. Teleworking is often considered as a unique work-style; however, the unique style is getting to change into typical and normal work-styles. In addition, cases introducing teleworking are also getting to increase from viewpoints of productivity improvement, etc.Teleworking recently has a remarkable trend of changes, such as "environment: from proprietary to shared", "location: from coexistence to cooperation", "public and private: from separate to mix", "tools: from individual to shared", and "operation: from ownership to utilization". Also, due to a rapid expansion of crowd sourcing that is one part of it, not only freelancers but also part-time jobs and side jobs of salaried workers are accelerating to increase.Relationships with corporate organizations are expected dramatically to change for both salaried workers and freelancers by expanding teleworking that is a flexible work-style regardless of locations and time utilizing ICT.

Researchers have long studied the types of mission of corporate venture capital. In practice, however, some issues have recently been identified in those studied types of mission. Also, practitioners have started to set another type of mission for their corporate venture capital. In this article, I discuss those issues of the previously studied types of missions identified in practice, and new moves by corporate venture capital to solve them. I then discuss some research questions that recent practices raise.

The sharing economy which recently became a hot topic emerged under the pressure of the spread of "share" culture triggered by the Lehman shock. The background where such a change occurred was that macro level changes induced related innovation and had destructive effects on existing regimes. There is a possibility that this may anticipate the change suggested by the 4th industrial revolution in the future. Under such recognition, I analyzed the business model transformation of Uber, Airbnb, and explored the nature of the change of the future through this. The bird's-eye model to explore the macro change adopts the MLP (Multi Level Perspective) theory which is the bridging theory of evolutionary economics and technology transition theory.

農業や農村に関わる活動を行うNPO法人(以下、農業系NPO法人)の全国的な法人数および活動分野を把握する目的で、既存のデータベースを活用して法人を抽出し、活動目的による分類を行った。その結果、2008年7月時点で全国に943件の農業系NPO法人が存在し、全NPO法人(35,544件)の2.7%に当たることが明らかになった。活動目的から農業系NPO法人を18項目に分類したところ、研究・提言・教育(34.8%)、農業支援(31.4%)、交流・ツーリズム(29.6%)、農地・水・森林(28.6%)、環境保全型(有機)農業(21.6%)といった活動を行う法人が多数を占めていた。一方で、認証(2.8%)、文化財(3.8%)、新規就農(9.0%)に関する活動を展開する法人は少なかった。また、財務データから年間収入規模別に農業系NPO法人を分類すると、100万円未満の規模に最も集中し(47.3%)、500万円未満の規模の法人で全体の7割を超えている事が分かった。全NPO法人のデータと比較して、農業系NPO法人は小規模な団体が多い傾向が見られた。地理的分布に関しては、法人所在地から都道府県庁までの直線距離が10km以下の法人が全体の36%を占めていた。また、30km以内の法人で全体の6割を占めることになり、所轄庁から離れるほど法人数は少ない事がわかった。

シーラカンスは四億年もの昔から地球上に存在する「生きた化石」である。魚類から陸上四肢動物への進化の鍵を握る重要種であり、また絶滅の可能性がある希少種である。そしてシーラカンスの生態については未だわかっていないことが多い。近年、従来の知見とは異なる海域で大量に捕獲されるようになり問題となっている。彼らの保護のためにはまず生息地の情報を得ることが必要である。そこで本研究ではシーラカンスの生息水深を明らかにするため耳石の安定同位体分析による生息水温の復元を行った。これまで温度計として広く用いられてきた酸素同位体に加え、より厳密な温度指標として期待される二重置換同位体分子種の測定を試みる。これらの手法を用いた高解像度の同位体測定により幼魚から成魚までの水温変化を明らかにし、それを捕獲地域の水深-水温データと比較することによって生息水深を推定する。
