Along with theoretical explications in music and the very concept music', both inherited from ancient Greece, another channel of classical tradition is found in the realm of Western music : namely notated fragments from the ancient Greek world. They were first introduced to the West Europeans by Vincenzo Galilei in his Dialogo (1581). Yet curiously enough, he did not pay due attention which, in our eyes, such a direct evidence of ancient music should deserve. For he attempts here to elucidate and almost consecrate antiquity as a model of contemporary music. This inconsistency reveals the peculiar character of his attitude to ancient music : he was not so much interested in the real configuration of the Greek musical practice itself as in the image of ancient music gathered from literary, that is, secondary sources. The classical tradition in Western music is thus characterized by its indirectness. Accordingly the reconstructed image was largely influenced by the view of the classics current in other genres of art. In this way music could share aesthetic ideals with the plastic arts and literature.

The mechanism of starting a fire from a kerosene fan heater by misusing of gasoline is similar to that from a wich-type kerosene heater. However, a combustion control device and many safety devices of a kerosene fan heater are different from those of a kerosene heater. Therefore, it is necessary to elucidate an outbreak of fire risk by these differences.   In this work, an outbreak of fire risk of a kerosene fan heater by misusing of gasoline was examined through combustion experiments. Then, we confirmed that the mechanism of starting a fire from a kerosene fan heater require fuel leakage as well as a kerosene heater. The difference of the structure of a kerosene fan heater influenced the outbreak of fire mechanism. And a flame sensor that is one of the safety devices was found to detect misusing of gasoline. Moreover, the GC analysis of each component of a burnt-out kerosene fan heater was found to be effective to prove misusing of gasoline.

技術文章力を高めるには,個別に添削指導を受けることが有効であるが,時間的な制約により実現が難しい.この問題に対処するため,書き手自身が短時間で何度も文章の客観的な見直しを繰り返し行い,さらに指摘の重要性や修正例を提示する校正支援手法により,学生の文章作成能力の向上に寄与できることを示した.また,学生の実験レポート2,285編から,140,214件の誤りを指摘した結果,学生に多い誤りは句読点および体言止めで79.4%を占めた.同時に,技術文章作成のノウハウを課題やレポートを通じて習得させることの重要性を改めて確認できた.There has been discussion about improving technical writing skills. Individual tutoring which a mentor provides a trainee to correct a technical writing might be the most effective way to enhance the skills. However it is difficult to repeat the tutoring many times because of time consuming job. We propose a method that an author oneself can emend a manuscript repeatedly. The method is based on a recommendation system which implements Japanese grammar and technical writing grammar with a morphological analysis. This paper describes the experimental results obtained from 2,285 reports written by students. The proposing method detected 140,214 technical writing errors in their reports. 79.4% of 140,214 errors are a punctuation mark and the indication of the termination with a substantive and speak that it is effective to teach these errors.

近年,児童が被害者となる凶悪な犯罪が増加しつつある.子どもたちにこれらの犯罪が降りかかる危険性を減らすために,全国各地で「地域安全マップ」づくりが盛んになっている.様々な地域安全マップが全国各地で作成されている.地域安全マップのねらいは,犯罪が発生しやすい景観の特徴や犯罪の発生する空間的要因を子どもに理解してもらうことにあり,そのためにフィールド調査を行い地図の作成をする.そこで,地理学がこれまで培ってきた地理学の研究成果を応用したり,Web-GISを活用した地域情報の共有をサポートするなどを行って「地域安全マップ」づくりをサポートしていくことで,これまで以上に有益な「地域安全マップ」が作成されることになるであろう.

NTT psycholinguistic databases "Lexical Properties of Japanese" were developed for the large number of Japanese words and characters. The databases contain word and character information such as familiarity, frequency of occurrence, appropriateness of accent, appropriateness of orthography, subjective complexity, and other important psycholinguistic properties. Words and characters satisfying multiple search conditions can be very efficiently obtained for stimuli in psycholinguistic experiments, which was impossible without the database in past days. The databases provide a basis for psycholinguistic research on Japanese.

戦場における佐倉歩兵第五七連隊の行動は、いくつかの連隊史や回想録で比較的よく知られている。しかし、兵士たちの平時の日常生活、意識については不明な点も多いように思われる。本稿は一九三四(昭和九)年に連隊のある上等兵がほぼ毎日書いていた日記帳の内容を分析して、連隊の兵士が毎日どのような訓練・生活を送っていたのかを再構成することを目的とする。日記の筆者は(おそらく)三三年一月現役入営し、翌三四年七月一九日除隊している。日記帳にはこのうち三四年一月一日から除隊後の同年八月一八日までの記述がある。具体的に千葉での演習・勤務、富士山麓での演習、対抗競技と連隊への帰属意識、日常の衣食住、私的制裁、連隊と地域社会との関わり、といった諸テーマを設定して、兵士たちの〈日常〉の再構成に努めるとともに、彼らが自己の所属する軍隊をどうみていたのか、それは帝国軍隊の支持基盤たりえたのか、といった問題にも展望を示したい。なお、参考資料として、本日記の全文を連隊生活とは直接関係のない除隊後のものを除き、翻刻した。The activities of the 57th Sakura Infantry Regiment on the battlefield are relatively well known from a number of regimental histories and memoirs. However, little is known about the daily life and thoughts of soldiers during peacetime. The aim of this paper is to reconstruct the daily training and life of soldiers in the regiment from the study of a diary written virtually everyday by a private first class in the regiment in 1934. The diarist most likely took up his position in January 1933 and then left the regiment on July 19, 1934. The diary contains entries from January 1 through August 18, 1934, by which time he had been discharged from the regiment.This paper attempts to reconstruct the daily lives of soldiers and covers the topics of exercises and duties in Chiba, exercises at the foot of Mt. Fuji, competitive sports and loyalty to the regiment, everyday clothing, food and shelter, un-offirial forms of punishment, and the relationship between the regiment and the local community. It also takes a look at how the soldiers regarded the regiment they were attached to and whether this constituted support for the Imperial Army. It may be noted that this diary, with the exception of the part following the writer's discharge from the regiment which is not directly related to the daily activities of the regiment, has been republished in full to provide background information.

本稿では,現在のGoogle型のWeb検索サービスを利用して検索することが困難な理由を「検索ユーザとWeb検索サービス間のギャップ」「検索ユーザと情報発信者間のギャップ」「目的とする情報が単一Webページ上に存在しない」という3つの問題で整理する。また,そのそれぞれの問題を解決するために取り組まれている検索意図を考慮したインタラクティブな検索手法や,ソーシャルアノテーションを利用した検索手法,Web上の情報を集約,分析および可視化することによって目的とする情報を作り出す手法などの様々な情報検索支援技術に関する研究について紹介を行う。

改良ジエチルアミノプロピルシリル化シリカゲル固相抽出法によるオクラトキシンA(OTA)の分析法は、簡便かつ低コストで毒性の強い有機溶媒を使わない優れた方法である。しかし、この方法をそのまま節製品に適用させた場合、回収率が約65%と低かった。そこで、固相抽出での洗浄を80%メタノール:酢酸(99+1)から(99.5+0.5)に変更したところ、85%以上の高回収率であった。本法で、2003-05年の市販節製品114検体を分析した結果、粉末削り節49検体中7検体(17%)平均4.1ng/gとだしパック12検体中3検体(25%)平均8.7ng/gのOTAを検出した。しかし、削り節53検体からはOTAは検出されなかつた。以上の結果から、節製品の製造工程からOTA汚染は、カビ付け工程以前で起こっている可能性が示唆された。

クラブワールドカップは、 6大陸のクラブ王者が世界一を決める大会であり、 その審判もアジア、 アフリカ、 南米、 北中米カリブ、 オセアニア、 ヨーロッパより選出される。 今回、 世界サッカー連盟 (FIFA)、 日本サッカー協会より依頼を受け、 鍼灸師が審判団のメディカルサポートを行った。 業務は、 練習及びフィットネステスト時のトレーナー活動、 試合帯同、 トリートメント業務 (鍼治療、 マッサージなど) であった。 16日間で59回の鍼治療、 63回のマッサージを行った。 大会期間中の外傷はハムストリングス肉離れ2名、 障害は、 腰痛、 アキレス腱周囲炎、 頚部痛などがあり鍼治療を行い改善した。 しかし2度の肉離れを起こした1名は、 帰国した。 鍼を知らない審判もいて、 日本の鍼治療を理解してもらう工夫が必要であった。 今後は、 感染防止の対策、 鍼の効果や傷害についての英語での説明法、 各国の食事やサプリメントの正確な知識を持つことの必要性を痛感した。
