The use of free range animals for monitoring environmental health offers opportunities to detect exposure and assess the toxicological effects of pollutants in terrestrial ecosystems. Potential human health risk of dietary intake of metals and metalloid via consumption of offal and muscle of free range chicken, cattle and goats by the urban population in Benin City was evaluated. Muscle, gizzard, liver and kidney samples were analyzed for Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, and Pb concentrations using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) while Hg was determined using Hg analyzer. Mean concentrations of metals (mg/kg ww) varied significantly depending upon the tissues and animal species. Human health risk estimations for children and adults showed estimated daily intake (EDI) values of tissues below oral reference dose (RfD) threshold for non essential metals Cd, As, Pb and Hg thus strongly indicating no possible health risk via consumption of animal based food. Calculated Hazard quotient (THQ) was less than 1 (< 1) for all the metals analyzed for both adult and children. However, Cd and As had the highest value of THQ suggestive of possible health risk associated with continuous consumption of Cd and As contaminated animal based foods. Hazard Index (HI) for additive effect of metals was higher in chicken liver and gizzard for children and chicken liver for adults. Thus, HI indicated that chicken liver and gizzard may contribute significantly to adult and children dietary exposure to heavy metals. Principal component analysis (PCA) showed a clear species difference in metal accumulation between chickens and the ruminants. This study provides baseline data for future studies and also valuable evidence of anthropogenic impacts necessary to initiate national and international policies for control of heavy metal and metalloid content in food items.

腸管と腎臓の連関「腸腎連関」が近年明らかになりつつある.腸管および腸内細菌叢は腎臓病の病態に相互に関与する.慢性腎臓病(chronic kidney disease:CKD)では腸内細菌叢や腸管機能が変化しており,この変化は腸内細菌由来尿毒素,炎症反応,免疫制御などを介して腎臓病の病態に影響を及ぼす.そのため,プロバイオティクスやバイオティクス,緩下剤などにより,腸内細菌を含む腸内環境を是正することが腎臓病の新しい治療介入になる可能性が期待されている.

15歳,女性.3歳時にWPW症候群と診断され,6歳時より動悸を自覚,7歳時に当院でカテーテルブレーション(RF)を行い,顕性の右室後中隔ア副伝導路(RPSAP)を介するorthodromic房室回帰性頻拍(AVRT)で,RFに成功した.13歳時に再度動悸を訴えた.心臓電気生理学的検査(EPS)ではISP1μg/分投与下の右室高頻度刺激で頻拍が誘発された.頻拍は減衰伝導を有するRPSAPを順伝導するantidromic AVRTであり,頻拍中の心室最早期興奮部位への通電でRPSAPの途絶に成功した.通電直後一過性に2:1房室ブロックを認めたが1:1伝導に回復したため,1分間の通電を加えRFを終了したが,その後II度房室ブロックが再出現した.約3カ月後に房室ブロックは自然に消失した.Antidromic AVRTを起こした機序として副伝導路に対する通電により,副伝導路もしくはその周辺組織に減衰伝導特性を与えた可能性が示唆された.房室ブロックを起こした機序としては,後中隔部位への通電がcompact AV nodeに影響を与えたことが考えられた.同部位へのRF時には,His束との距離のみならず,わずかな心電図変化にも細心の注意が必要と思われる.

本稿の題名の演練とは,昭和16年6月頃から11月頃にかけて,すなわち,1941年に研究され計画され実施された社会システム・ゲーミングを示す.演練は,当時の軍事用語であるが,現代用語では,ゲーミング・シミュレーションに相当しよう.演練は,当時の官僚を中心に33名の若手エリートによる政策研究ゲーミング,あるいは当時の大日本帝国の運命を研究する国家戦略研究ゲーミングともいえる.その構造と内容について,現在までにわかったことについて報告する.なお,近衛内閣直轄の総力戦研究所における演練が現代における社会システムのゲーミング・シミュレーションの原型でないかと思われる.戦後,この演練が最初に文献に現れたのは1950年後半のアメリカのランド研究所の報告であり,その研究員らが戦争ゲームとして分類していた.1941年の当時に,日本でこのような社会システム・ゲーミングが実施されていたとは理解できなかったのではないかと推測される.そればかりか,このゲーミング・シミュレーションが,政策科学における世界最初の創始となるのではないかと思っている.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between club performance and revenue in Japanese professional football clubs. In Europe, Union of European Football Association (UEFA) decided to introduce financial fair play (FFP) for the purpose of the sound management for all clubs. In Japan, J.LEAGUE decided to introduce the club license system in 2013. In this way, the importance for the management of J.LEAGUE club would increase. This paper examined, the relationship between revenue and club performance in the J.LEAGUE club by making use of analyzing the panel data from 2005 to 2010. As a result, two-way fixed effect model was selected. This implied that there were differences among each club and there were time effects between seasons. From the scale of fixed effect, clubs in metropolis were not always profitable. And we found that club's performance do not significant affect the revenue.
