TMR (Total materials requirement), which refers to the total amount of overburden and rock, were estimated as a fundamental data in this study. 10 kinds of TMR of energy resource and power generation and 62 kinds of TMR of industrial material were approximately estimated based on LCI data. Moreover, a recycle flow analysis based on TMR was proposed. From a result of a study on ELV (End-of-Life Vehicle) recycle flow, followings were shown. 1) A dismantling process which is a pretreatment process for shredding was main process for ELV recycle. Most of Metals, which have large amount of TMR, were collected in the dismantling process. 2) Copper is main component of ASR (Automobile Shredder Residue).

本研究は, 高齢者の生活習慣を見守り, 異変がある場合には家族や介護専門員に即座に通報することで, 見守り活動の負担を軽減し, 継続的な見守り活動を支援することを目的とする.本稿では, 冷蔵庫の利用状況(開閉時刻と回数), トイレの使用状況, 就寝・起床状況についてセンサを使い遠隔地から計測することで, 日常の生活パターンを把握し, 異変を捉えるシステムを開発し, 4名の高齢者に実証実験を行なった. その結果, 冷蔵庫, トイレ, 起床状況のそれぞれが生活パターンを表しており, そこからの外れ値を異常と認識することが可能であることを示した.[本要旨はPDFには含まれない]

災害発生後は多数の組織が異なる被災地調査を行うが, 被災地への過度の負担を避けるためには組織間の連携や情報共有が不可欠である.また, 東日本大震災のような未曾有の広域災害に対しては, 既存の学術領域に枠組みに基づく活動だけでは, 新たに出現した社会問題に対して解決策を提示できない可能性がある.本研究では, 東日本大震災の総合対応に関する学協会連絡会に所属している21学会および学会ウェブサイトに震災後の活動情報を掲載している58学会を対象として, 震災後の活動状況をレビューし, 体制整備, 学会間の連携状況, 提言活動, 相談への対応や専門家の派遣という4つの視点から比較分析した.[本要旨はPDFには含まれない]

神奈川県立川崎図書館は昭和33年の開館以来,自然科学と工学分野の専門的資料のある公立図書館として知られている。平成10年から「科学と産業の情報ライブラリー」との愛称を持ち,その特徴を生かしてさまざまなサービスを実施してきた。平成17年からは独自のビジネス支援サービスを展開するとともに,科学技術のテーマに基づき,展示会,講演会,文献目録など事業を関連付けて実施している。さらに,独自の分類法“クラスタ”により,閲覧と収集が一体となった取り組みを進めている。こうしたことは,社会が変化する中にあって,社会の要請を受け止め,自らを変革しながら活動する伝統ある図書館の挑戦である。

近時広く普及している自動車保険の人身傷害補償保険に基づき保険者が保険給付をした場合において保険者が請求権代位により取得する加害者に対する損害賠償請求権の範囲について裁判上争われる事例が見られるようになっており,地方裁判所レベルでは異なる判断を示すものが現れている。本稿は,これまでに提唱されている諸見解について,それぞれの問題点を分析した上で,約款の規定と代位に関する法原則をどのように調和させるべきかについての私見を提示しようとするものである。

Olfactory receptors (ORs), which comprise the largest G protein-coupled receptor family, play a pivotal role in recognizing a variety of odorants in the vertebrate olfactory system. Recent successes in functional cloning and expression of ORs facilitated construction of ligand-activity matrices of ORs. Activation of a combinatorial receptor repertoire by an odorant determines an odor quality of the odorant, while activated ORs by an odorant mixture is not simply the sum of those for its components due to OR antagonism between odorants. Mixing odorants, thereby, often results in a novel perceptual quality that is not present in each component. The recent atomic-level structure for bovine rhodopsin has provided an opportunity to elucidate a molecular basis for odorant recognition by an OR and characterize the active site of an OR.

The biodegradable chelating agents [S,S]-ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid (EDDS) and the low biodegradable chelating agent ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) were investigated for their removal efficiency of lead from soil by soil washing. In the soil washing tests, the removal efficiency of lead with EDTA was high in the wide pH range and the efficiency of lead removal with EDDS increased with increasing pH. However, EDDS has no effect on the removal of lead in the acidic region below pH 5.5. Acid contribution was predominant for the removal of lead with EDDS below pH 5.5 and the complexation between EDDS and lead were negligible. The reaction rates for extraction of lead with EDTA and EDDS were represented by the volume reaction model. The activation energies of these extraction reactions are over 55 kJ/mol and the apparent reaction rate constants are not affected by the stirring speeds, therefore it is considered that these extraction reactions are chemically controlled.

脳血管障害急性期には,著しい高血圧が持続する場合や血栓溶解療法を予定している場合を除いて,原則として積極的な降圧治療は行わない.一方,慢性期では,脳血流自動調節能の下限域が右側偏位するとともに脳血流の全般的な低下を伴っているので,臨床症状に注意しながら慎重な降圧治療が必要であるが,PROGRESS試験により降圧治療が脳卒中再発抑制に有用であることが示されている.降圧薬の種類により脳血管障害の再発抑制効果に差があるかどうか,脳卒中発症後の至適血圧値がどのレベルにあるかは今後の課題である.

The nuclear power plant disaster in Fukushima Prefecture has given big influence on our life. Such influence is due to not only the accident itself but many things resulting from the rumor which the accident brought about.This paper, first of all, points out several problems we have to cope with. One of the most serious one is that because the Tokyo Electric Power, the government, and the mass media do not understand the difference between data and information and because they do not recognize the importance of information, they provide unsuitable data to disaster victims and average citizens in many cases. In addition, the fact that disaster victims and average citizens considerably lack the knowledge about the accident and its effects can not be ignored. As the result, they become uneasiness and are prone to act improperly.Secondly, it describes the situation of the disaster from the mutual relation among phenomena, data, information, and knowledge.Finally, three ways of coping, by which disaster victims and average citizens can act appropriately and avoid damages caused by rumors, are proposed as follows.a) The Tokyo Electric Power, the government, and mass media must try to raise information consciousness and sense markedly.b) Disaster victims and average citizens must examine carefully the data provided from them before making any decision.c) An organization of the national level should be established immediately, in which specialists will lecture disaster victims and average citizens on the fundamental knowledge about the accident and its effects.

A 5-year-old female cross-breed dog was presented with a 1-month history of progressive changes in the posture of the head and in the gait. At neurological examination the dog showed a central vestibular syndrome lateralized to the left. MRI showed a space occupying lesion within the fourth ventricle, characterized by iso- to hypointensity in T1 and hyperintensity in T2 with a heterogeneous contrast uptake. Histologically, a neoplasia composed of meningothelial cells forming compact whorls with slight atypia, and stellate cells delimitating microcysts containing eosinophilic fluid was observed. Neoplastic cells were positive for vimentin and negative for GFAP and FVIII. A diagnosis of intraventricular microcystic meningioma was achieved. Intraventricular meningiomas in dogs are rarely encountered and reports of meningiomas within the fourth ventricle have not yet been described. Although choroid plexus tumor is the most frequent neoplasia localized in the fourth ventricle, intraventricular meningioma should be included in the differential diagnoses.

The objective of this lecture is to consider the possibility of a new scientific method from the viewpoint of “reality science.” Once, Descartes who presented the method of the modern science wrote A Discourse on Method. However, at present, new reality has become an important theme which could not adequately be grasped by the method he planned. The movement heightens which intends to grasp the reality such as edge of the chaos, fluctuation, noise, complexity, and postmodernity not caught by the method of the science that aims at the recognition of the universal law. In this lecture, I will discuss such new trends from the viewpoint of the “reality science,” and raise a question on the necessity of the method which takes in both of unique factor and universal factor.

This paper proposes a contactless vibration testing system for rotating disks based on an impulse response excited by a laser ablation. High power YAG pulse laser is used in this system for producing an ideal impulse force on structural surface without contact. The contactless vibration testing system is composed of a YAG laser, laser Doppler vibrometer and spectrum analyzer. This system makes it possible to measure vibration characteristics of structures under operation, such as vibration measurement of a rotating disk. The effectiveness of this system is confirmed by experimental and theoretical analyses. In this paper, a platter of hard disk drive is employed as an experimental object. Vibration characteristics of a rotating and non-rotating platter are measured and compared with the results of theoretical analysis.

老人保健施設に入所する高齢障害者54名に対して,Visual analog scale(以下VAS)による主観的健康感の調査を行い,幸福感や運動機能,認知機能,意欲との関連性を検討した。結果は,VASによる主観的健康感が高い群の方が,中等度の群に比べてFIM認知機能が低い傾向が認められた。また,PGCモラールスケールとVASによる主観的健康感は弱い相関が認められた。これらの結果から,高齢障害者に対してVASによる主観的健康感を聴取する際には,認知機能の客観的評価とともに解釈する必要性はあるが,幸福感だけではなく健康感を含めることで,より具体的なリハビリテーションの目標設定が可能になるものと推測された。

2009年4月29日,ブータン中部を南流するPho Chhu(Chhuは川の意味)右岸のTshojo(チョゾ)氷河から融氷水の急激な流出(以下では「異常出水」とする)が発生した.これによる被害は特に無かったが,氷河末端から70km下流の町トンサでは1994年に別の氷河からの氷河湖決壊洪水を経験しており,今回の異常出水でも住民が避難する騒ぎとなった.ここでは現地の写真と衛星画像をもとに概略を紹介する.

The author first diagnosed the reason for waned interest in the industrial application of fullerenes as being the failure in determining the mechanism of formation of C60 under unusual conditions in time. Recently, the Irle-Morokuma group solved the mechanism by performing combined quantum mechanics and molecular dynamics calculations on random assemblies of C2 molecules at 2000 to 3000 K. They proposed a shrinking hot giant road mechanism, which fits Prigogine's irreversible thermodynamic theory. Still the last steps of this mechanism leading to significant yields of C60 could not be satisfactorily reproduced. The author suggests carbon mono-oxide as a critical catalyst for giant fullerenes to close to C60.
