Japanese rose bitterling, Rhodeus ocellatus kurumeus, is an endangered freshwater fish in Japan. Both the expansion of the habitat of an alien subspecies, R. o. ocellatus, and the increased chances of hybridization between the two subspecies have threatened the genetic identity of R. o. kurumeus. To conserve R. o. kurumeus in Kagawa Prefecture, 17 populations were genetically monitored in 2006. Two individuals in a pond were found to harbor R. o. ocellatus type mitochondrial DNA through PCR-RFLP analysis. Then the contaminated population was transplanted to a closed Bio-top water system to prevent contamination in other ponds. Three-day pond drying was found to be insufficient to eradicate R. ocellatus.

<p>The purpose of this study is to clarify the war situation in the "Battle of the River <i>Ulz (Ulja)</i>" fought in 1196 between the Jin dynasty and the Tatars (<i>Zubu</i>). This battle is also famous for the fact that the young Chinggis khan participated in it on the Jin side. By contributing to the Jin victory, Chinggis khan obtained the backing of the Jin and grew powerful. The main documentation for the study is the <i>Serven khaalga</i> inscription discovered by the authors in Bayankhutag District, Khentii Province, Mongolia. It consists of two inscriptions, one in Chinese and one in Jurchen, and the major portion of both notes the names of the places which the Jin army passed through during the Battle of the River <i>Ulz</i>. By carrying out a multilateral examination of these place names, from a historical, geographical and archaeological perspective, the authors managed to show clearly the route of the Jin army on a map. They were also able to shed light upon the historical and geographical situation in the eastern part of the Mongol plain at that time. The results of the study should greatly contribute to our understanding of the Jin dynasty's control of the Mongol plain and the prehistory of the rise of the Mongol Empire.</p>

本稿では,雑音除去や色補正などの様々な画像処理問題を画像の特徴を正則化として取り入れた一種の連続最適化問題として定式化することで見通し良く解決できること,及びそれらの最適化問題を実際に効率的に解く方法について解説する.具体的には,"Color-Lines特徴" と呼ばれるカラー画像の色分布が色空間において線状に広がる特徴を利用した応用に焦点を絞り,画像処理に伴う最適化特有の定式化・解法テクニックについて筆者らのこれまでの取組みを交えて説明する.

いわゆる小山評定に関しては、本多隆成氏が存在論の立場から、筆者(白峰)が否定論の立場から論争(小山評定論争)が続いているが、本多氏が論文「「小山評定」再論―白峰旬氏のご批判に応える―」を、2015年10月に『織豊期研究』17号に発表し、拙論への御批判を提示された。本稿では、本多氏による拙論への御批判を検討し、私の所見を示すこととする。

従来の通説では、"小山評定"は、慶長5年7月25日、徳川家康が上杉討伐のために東下した諸将を小山(下野国=現栃木県小山市)に招集して、上杉討伐の中止と諸将の西上を決定した軍議として有名であり、これまで関ヶ原の戦いに関する研究史において、動かしようのない"歴史的事実"として通説化して扱われてきた。しかし、本稿では一次史料の詳細な内容検討により、これまで通説で肯定されてきた"小山評定"が歴史的事実ではなく、フィクションであることを論証し、フィクションとしての"小山評定"が江戸時代に捏造された背景についても論及した。

筑波大学図書館情報メディア系には、日本の図書館専門職養成の中核的機関の一つであった図書館情報大学(現筑波大学図書館情報メディア系/知識情報・図書館学類)およびその前身校の約一世紀にわたる図書館専門職養成の沿革にかかわる歴史的資料が残されている。本研究ではこれらの資料を対象に、図書館専門職にかかわる包括的なコレクションを整備し、利用のための仕組みを実装した「21世紀図書館情報学アーカイブズ」のプロトタイプモデルを構築した。さらにこのアーカイブを用いて、歴史資料コレクションのアーカイビングにかかわる技術的・社会的課題について総合的に検討するとともに、20世紀の日本の図書館界を俯瞰的に把握し館種を超えたマクロな視座から、図書館専門職の歴史的再検討を試みた。

Unmanned aerial vehicle-based “Structure from Motion” (UAV-SfM) photogrammetry is becoming increasingly important for obtaining high-definition topographic data in a variety of earth science research. Antarctica is one of the best fields in which UAV-SfM surveys are applied, because detailed geomorphological data are essential for reconstructing past Antarctic ice sheet changes and understanding landform evolution processes in a hyper-arid and hypothermal environment. However, application of UAVs in Antarctica has been limited because of difficulties arising from low temperatures and the restricted availability of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-assisted navigation system at high latitudes. In this article, we provide methodological solutions for these difficulties, and report several preliminary results of UAV surveys in central Dronning Maud Land and the Soya Coast in East Antarctica. A digital elevation model (DEM) obtained in central Dronning Maud Land clearly shows 3D structures of polygons developed on glacial tills. At the Soya Coast, a DEM analysis reveals detailed geomorphological characteristics, such as moraine ridges originating from a former ice stream and differential erosion of the basement due to weathering. Based on these results, we suggest that the UAV survey has certain merits for conducting an efficient field survey in the extremely large areas of Antarctica within a limited time, and has great potential for reconstructing past Antarctic ice sheet changes and obtaining a further understanding of landform evolution processes.

左右対称形キーボードの打鍵特性を明らかにするため、形状が異なる3種の左右勉称形キーボードと現用形キーボードをキーピッチ、キーサイズおよびキー種を同一にして試作した。キーボード形状の効果を明らかにするため、上記4種のキーボードについて打鍵位置指示後の単打鍵実験を行った(被験者10名)。各キーの平均入カ時間およびエラー率を多変量解析により分析した結果、現用形キーボードに比ぺ、いずれも平均キー入力時間は約10%、平均エラー率は約40%低く、形状効果があることが分かった。次に連続打鍵特性について、現用形キーボード操作者(英文タイビスト9名)が3種の左右対称形キーボードを用いて同一英文の繰返し入カ実験を行った。この結果、4蒔間後に現用形キーボードの操作レベルと同等以上に達し、短期間に左右対称形キーボードに習熟できることが分かった。また、高遠打鍵特性について、英文タイビスト4名(現用形キーボードの入力速度:410ストローク/分)が同一種の左右魅称形キーボードを用いて毎回異なる英文入力実験を行った。この緒果、32時間後には、平均キー入力時間は最高117msec(515ストローク/分)の高いレベルに達した。また、各キーの入力時間は左右手および指間でバランスしており形状効果が認められた。以上の結果、左右対称形キーボードは、打鍵特性を向上する形状効果を有し、習熟しやすく、高速打鍵が可能であることが分かった。

GPS機能を内蔵したモバイル機器の普及により,属性情報付きの位置データを大規模に収集することが容易になった.オンラインアンケートで消費者の消費傾向や属性を取得し,個人情報保護に配慮したうえでアンケート結果と位置情報ログを結びつけることによって,実際の行動と消費意欲の関係を分析することができる.なお,そのような位置情報ログを「属性付き位置情報ログ」と定義した.今回,首都圏において約1,800名の参加者を募って1カ月弱にわたり実験を実施した.その結果,いくつかの消費傾向分野において参加者の意識は実際の行動に反映されていることが明らかとなった.The widespread of mobile devices makes it easy to collect location-based personal information on a broad scale. After acquiring consumption tendency and personal individual attribute via on-line questionnaire, associating the result of the questionnaire and the location-based personal information log, which named "the location-based personal information log with individual attribute," enables an analysis on the relation between personal behaviors and their intention. This time, with the help of approximately 1,800 participants, an experiment has been conducted in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The result revealed that the intention of participants to spend their money on several types of services and products were reflected to the log of their behavior. In this papar, details of the experiment and the result are reported.
