We measured SSVEP (steady-state visual evoked potential) using contrast-modulated flickers of photographic scenes to apply for AR (augmented reality) system. Ten participants observed the contrast-modulated flickers, which were made of alternating an original image of a photographic scene and its contrast-degraded image (0, 20, 40, 60, and 80% of original contrast) at a rate of 5, 7.5 or 10 Hz. We found that SSVEP was observed even with 80% contrast-image flickers using 1s time-window SFFT analysis. The strength of SSVEP depended on contrast and stimulus frequency. It was stronger with higher contrast and lower frequency. Then, we investigated effects of eccentricity and applied LDA (linear discrimination analysis) to test feasibility of SSVEP-based BMI (brain-machine interface) using the contrast-modulated flickers. We found that gaze could be estimated using 20% contrast-image flickers with LDA of a SSVEP at the stimulus frequency, moreover that it could be estimated using 80% contrast-image flickers with LDA of 20-dimensional data of EEG(1-20Hz). These results suggest that the contrast-modulated flickers of photographic scenes can elicit SSVEP and it could be applied to BMI using AR in a future.

Modern neurophysiology based on ion channels was born a half century ago by Hodgkin and Huxley’s memorial works on ionic currents in squid giant axon. Their finding leads to identification of ion channel proteins containing a voltage-sensor and an aqueous pore. Patch clamping and molecular biological techniques have accelerated to understand how ion channels work. Quite recently we have started to understand ion channel functions on the basis of 3D-structure. This review overviewed a half century progress in understanding of ion channels.

近年食物アレルギーは世界中で大きな問題になってきている.人間の多くの器官が食物アレルギーによって障害を受けることはよく知られているが, その予防及び治療は, 今後の研究を待つところも多い.我々は補中益気湯を用いて, 食物アレルギーモデルマウスの肝臓障害に対する治療効果について検討を行った.まず, Hyper IgE血症を自然誘発するNc/Jic系マウスを卵白アルブミン (OVA) によって感作した.その後, それぞれに補中益気湯と生理食塩水を投与し, 肝臓における, 肝細胞の病理変化と細胞浸潤の有無について検討を行った.OVAを経口で負荷後, 血清のalanine aminotransferase (ALT) 値を酵素法 (POP) で測定した.サイトカインの検討は免疫染色 (streptavidin-biotin) 法で分析した.その結果, 補中益気湯内服マウスは, 生理食塩水投与の対照群と比べ, 血清ALT値が有意に減少していた.また, 補中益気湯内服マウスの肝臓におけるIL-4, IL-6, TNF-αの陽性細胞数は, 生理食塩水投与の対照群より有意に低かった.この結果から, 補中益気湯が肝臓のアレルギー反応を減少させ, 食物アレルギーによって起こされた, 肝臓障害を抑えることが示唆された.

高い抗酸化力のあるプロアントシアニジン(PAC)の摂取量の多い人では腎臓病のリスクが低いことが 知られている。今回、腎機能低下を示すビーグル 2 頭およびマルチーズ 1 頭において、PAC を高濃度に含 有するブルーベリー茎エキス(0.2-0.6 ml/kg/day)を3-4ヶ月間経口投与し、腎機能に加え、肝機能 の変化も調査した。結果、BUN はすべて低下し、CRE は 1 例の低下が確認された。

生体親和性ポリエチレングリコール(PEG)の製剤における有用性は周知の事実であるが、一方でPEGがもたらす生体応答に関心が高まっている。生体親和性を示すPEGの性質とPEGがもたらす抗PEG抗体産生という、一見すると、相反する性質は何によってもたらされているのだろうか。PEGは生体分子と弱いながらも相互作用を示すことが知られてきており、より特異的なPEGと抗PEG抗体という2つの分子の関係に着目すると、特異的相互作用と特異的相互作用に基づく、不可逆的な結合という2つの異なる相互作用に着目する必要がある。本稿では、PEGと抗PEG抗体との関係と、新たなアプローチの紹介を含めて概説する。

The Geological Survey of Japan has been conducting a study on submarine hydrothermal activity in the Izu-Ogasawara (or Bonin) Arc and the northernmost part of the Mariana Arc since 1984. Hydrothermal products, both unequivocal and inferred, are divided into three categories: 1) manganese or iron enriched sediments, and Mn-Fe hydroxide and silica deposits (chimneys) in the back-arc basin area; 2) manganese and/or iron oxide deposits occurring in the mountainous areas of both the back-arc and the volcanic front areas; and 3) a veinlet of iron-copper-zinc sulfides in hydothermally altered andesite on a wall of a submarine caldera along the volcanic front. This paper outlines these products as well as related geological, geophysical and geochemical data in the area.

A lead-lag effect in stock markets describes the situation where one (leading) stock return is cross-correlated with another (lagging) stock return at later times. There are various methods for stock return forecasting based on such a lead-lag effect. One of the most representative methods is based on the supply chain network. In this research, we propose a stock return forecasting method with an economic causal chain. The economic causal chain refers to a cause and effect network structure constructed by extracting a description indicating a causal relationship from the texts of Japanese financial statement summaries. We examine the following lead-lag effect. (1) whether lead-lag effect spreads to the 'effect' stock group when there is a large stock uctuation in the 'cause' stock group in the causal chain. (2) whether lead-lag effect spreads to the 'cause' stock group when there is a large stock uctuation in the 'effect' stock group in the causal chain. We confirm the existence of the both side of lead-lag effect and the evidence of stock return predictability across causally linked firms in the Japanese stock market.

In this paper I attempt to understand feminist film theory not as the development of an autonomous and absolute theoretical construction, bu t as a manifesto, fraught with contradictions and difficulties which make the whole movement all the more significant, and at the same time historically determinant. Tracing some historically decisive moments in the development of feminist film theory in the 1970s, I introduce some crucial arguments and debates discussed by feminists with different political positions during the period, and in so doing argue that because of the ways in which feminist film theory tried to negotiate the difficult relationship between film theory and film practice it inevitably faced a theoretical impasse which nonetheless opened up other questions and problems latent in the semiotic / linguistic model, a dominant model in the 1960s and 70s film theory. My intention is to show that this is precisely why feminist film theory was and still is important, problematic as it is, today.

In the current heterogeneous wireless communication system, the sharp rise in energy consumption and the emergence of new service types pose great challenges to nowadays radio access network selection algorithms which do not take care of these new trends. So the proposed energy efficiency based multi-service heterogeneous access network selection algorithm-ESRS (Energy Saving Radio access network Selection) is intended to reduce the energy consumption caused by the traffic in the mobile network system composed of Base Stations (BSs) and Access Points (APs). This algorithm models the access network selection problem as a Multiple-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM) problem. To solve this problem, lots of methods are combined, including analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), weighted grey relational analysis (GRA), entropy theory, simple additive weight (SAW), and utility function theory. There are two main steps in this algorithm. At first, the proposed algorithm gets the result of the user QoS of each network by dealing with the related QoS parameters, in which entropy theory and AHP are used to determine the QoS comprehensive weight, and the SAW is used to get each network's QoS. In addition to user QoS, parameters including user throughput, energy consumption utility and cost utility are also calculated in this step. In the second step, the fuzzy theory is used to define the weight of decision attributes, and weighted grey relational analysis (GRA) is used to calculate the network score, which determines the final choice. Because the fuzzy weight has a preference for the low energy consumption, the energy consumption of the traffic will be saved by choosing the network with the least energy consumption as much as possible. The simulation parts compared the performance of ESRS, ABE and MSNS algorithms. The numerical results show that ESRS algorithm can select the appropriate network based on the service demands and network parameters. Besides, it can effectively reduce the system energy consumption and overall cost while still maintaining a high overall QoS value and a high system throughput, when compared with the other two algorithms.

China timber arch bridge is a special bridge type, in which the arch ring is woven from two polygonal arch systems. There are more than 100 such bridges survived in Fujian and Zhejiang Provinces. Its traditional construction technology handed down from ancient to today generation by generation through oral teaching has been listed in the Urgent Safeguarding List of Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2009 because it is now at a risk of disappearing. To record down the technique is one of the key issues to preserve the intangible cultural heritage. This paper gives the general description of China timber arch bridges and discusses their traditional construction technology.

本研究は,事象関連電位を指標として,形態統語的処理と意味的処理がどのように相互作用しているのかを検討した。実験の結果,格違反文(値段をあがる)に対して左前頭部陰性波とP600が観察された。また,格違反は含まないが意味役割が逆転した文(値段があげる)において,同様の左前頭部陰性波とP600が観察された。もしこの左前頭部陰性波が形態統語的な違反効果を反映しているとすれば,この結果は,形態統語的処理と意味的処理が,動詞の呈示開始語400 ms辺りで相互作用していることを示唆している。

後天性食道気管支瘻は食道癌に伴って起こることはよく知られているが,憩室に伴う食道気管支瘻は比較的まれである.本症例は66歳,女性で,55歳時に嚥下困難があったが肺化膿症および食道アカラシアの診断で放置していた.66歳になり嚥下困難,発熱,体重減少,背部痛があり当院に入院した.食道鏡により上部食道に発生した食道憩室を認めた.食道憩室造影から食道憩室と右肺上葉との連絡がみられた.この食道憩室造影所見から上部食道憩室の胸腔内破裂により生じた後天性食道気管支瘻と考えられた.
