A rare case of osteomalacia with an oronasal fistula developing after sequestrectomy is presented. The patient was a 45-year-old woman who was referred to our hospital because of an intractable ulcer at the midline of the hard palate. She had an edentulous maxilla and wore a poorly fitting complete maxillary denture. Oral examination showed ulceration with a sequestrum under the prosthesis. Removal of the sequestrum extending from the oral cavity to the nostrils resulted in an oronasal fistula of the hard palate. The case was finally diagnosed as osteomalacia based on the results of radiographic and serum chemical examinations. In this patient, continuous pressure caused by the poorly fitting maxillary denture induced the sequestrum in the hard palate, which was thin and fragile because of osteomalacia.

本稿では,COVID-19パンデミック下で実施されたインドネシアの2020年人口・住宅センサスについて,政府資料やメディア報道,および中央統計庁職員への聞取りをもとにその実態を解説する.インドネシアの2020年人口・住宅センサスは,COVID-19の感染拡大によってさまざまな変更を迫られた.特にジャワ島のほぼ全域と外島の都市部における訪問面接調査が中止されたことで,同地域の人口データが,氏名,性別,続柄といった基礎情報のみに限定された.その背景には,COVID-19パンデミック対策に向けて2020年度の政府予算が再編され,2020年人口・住宅センサスに関する予算も大幅な削減を余儀なくされたことが大きく影響していた.インドネシアの2020年人口・住宅センサスは,以前のデータとの整合性を維持できなくなったことから,今後は人口センサスの調査方法の方針も大きく変わっていくと考えられる.

The purpose of this study was to clarify visual search behavior and decision time in continuous decision tasks of the toss direction and spike course in volleyball. Volleyball players, ball game players, and non-ball game players (10 in each group) wearing eye-movement trackers watched video images of combination attacks from three directions and made decision about whether the toss direction was left or right and the spike course was straight or cross. The results revealed the following:     1) In comparison to ball game and non-ball game players, volleyball players had a faster decision time for toss direction and the spike course. Furthermore, volleyball players made excellent decision-making even in situations involving continuous decisions.     2) Volleyball players have quiet eye characteristics. In other words, they gaze for long periods at the body, including the face, and torso of players, including setters and spikers who pass the ball.     3) It was revealed that after deciding the toss direction, volleyball players quickly glance at the spiker before the spiker steps in with both his feet and decide the spike course from the opponentʼs upper-body turn or arm swing.

尿管結石の診断を受けた52名の患者に対し, 猪苓湯1日7.5gを服用させ結石の排石効果を検討した。長径4mm以下の結石では, 2週間で63.2%, 4週間で78.9%の排石を認めた。4~10mmの結石では, 2週間で10%, 4週間で33.3% であった。52例全体では, 2週間で28.8%, 4週間で50% の排石率であった。また, 猪苓湯服用による副作用は認めなかった。

本研究は,発達がアンバランスな幼児6名と定型発達児32名に対して,年少から年長にかけて身体模倣課題を実施し,身体模倣の獲得過程の違いを明らかにすることを目的とした。身体模倣の正中線交差なしは,アンバランスな児と定型発達児で有意な差は認められなかったが,正中線交差あり,および手指の模倣は,年中および年長で有意な差が認められた。また,身体模倣の発達については,アンバランスな児は,正中線交差なし,および正中線交差ありは,年少から年長にかけて伸びがあり,定型発達児は,年少から年中にかけて伸びがあると考えられた。本研究において,アンバランスな児の対象人数は少なかったが,アンバランスな児と定型発達児は共に年齢による発達がみられるものの,正中線交差ありや手指の複雑な模倣は,年中から差が生じ始めると考えられた。また,個別の検討により,アンバランスな児の模倣の発達には3つのパターンがあることが推測された。

下水汚泥には肥料養分が下水から濃縮されるといえ,下水汚泥肥料・堆肥の耕種利用が期待されている。家畜ふん堆肥の利用が進んでいる一方で,下水汚泥堆肥の耕種利用は進んでいない。本報告では,下水汚泥堆肥の施用で期待されること,また懸念されることを整理し,下水汚泥堆肥の利活用に向けてどのような下水汚泥堆肥が求められるか,研究事例等にも触れながら述べる。下水汚泥堆肥は,加里を除けば家畜ふん堆肥と同等,あるいはそれ以上の有機物や養分 (窒素,りん,カルシウム等) を含んでいる。また,有害 (半) 金属量も家畜ふん堆肥と同量程度である。難溶態りんを多く含むが,これらはク溶性である。凝集剤や微量物質の影響等も考慮に入れながら下水汚泥堆肥の理化学性を評価し,その利用用途を整理する必要がある。また下水汚泥堆肥の評価点,評価方法,品質目安等も提示する必要がある。

Additive manufacturing by vat-photopolymerization is important technique to prepare designed objects because of its features of availability, low cost, low energy consumption, and high-speed printing. One of the major challenges of this technique is how to expand the chemical composition towards metals and ceramics in addition to organic compounds. In this paper, we report synthesis of highly concentrated nanocolloids of nickel hydroxide acrylate and use them for vat-photopolymerization. Epoxide-mediated basification induced formation of dispersed nickel hydroxide acrylate monolayer/bilayer nanoparticles (diameter of 2.31 nm). The concentration of nanocolloid was prepared as 2.5 mol L−1 (Ni basis), which corresponds to 43 wt % and 30 vol %. The concentrated nanocolloids enabled to produce objects through vat-photopolymerization by using commercially available 3D printers. Addition of small quantity of organic cross-linker efficiently interconnect nanoparticles to form bulky objects. Owing to the organic moiety of nickel hydroxide salt nanoparticles, metal/carbon composites formed by heat-treatment without any reduction gas supply. Further heat-treatment led metal oxide bulky object with macroporous structure.

Cancer metabolic variability has a significant impact on both diagnosis and treatment outcomes. The discovery of novel biological indicators and metabolic dysregulation, can significantly rely on comprehension of the modified metabolism in cancer, is a research focus. Tissue histology is a critical feature in the diagnostic testing of many ailments, such as cancer. To assess the surgical margin of the tumour on patients, frozen section histology is a tedious, laborious, and typically arbitrary method. Concurrent monitoring of ion images in tissues facilitated by the latest advancements in mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is far more efficient than optical tissue image analysis utilized in conventional histopathology examination. This article focuses on the “desorption electrospray ionization (DESI)-MSI” technique’s most recent advancements and uses in cancer research. DESI-MSI can provide wealthy information based on the variances in metabolites and lipids in normal and cancerous tissues by acquiring ion images of the lipid and metabolite variances on biopsy samples. As opposed to a systematic review, this article offers a synopsis of the most widely employed cutting-edge DESI-MSI techniques in cancer research.

大都市圏の外延的拡大と大都市圏内の機能分化に特徴づけられた20世紀の都市の構造は,21世紀に入り大きな転換期を迎えている。この中で生じてきたのが,長期的に衰退傾向が継続する縮退都市化,大都市圏内での分断化,これに加えて日本では1970~80年代に開発された外部郊外での住民および建造環境の高齢化が顕著となっている。地方都市では,空き家や空き地の増加,中心市街地の衰退などが問題視されてきた。この背景には,グローバリゼーションにともなう都市間競争に打ち勝つため,規制緩和と都心再開発を好む起業家的都市化が進んだことがある。その結果,継続的に都市への投資が続いた都心部と続かなかった郊外,特に大都市圏の外延的拡大が最大限となって生じた外部郊外とでは,居住環境上の明暗が生じている。本特集号では,東京大都市圏の外部郊外にあたる龍ケ崎市における事例研究により,郊外住宅地の将来像を検討する。

本研究の目的は我々にとって身近な音楽であるJ-POPがどのように思い出されるのかをその構造的特徴に着目して検討することである。実験1では歌のタイトルを手がかりとした歌唱再生実験を行い、大楽節終わりで生じたエラーについて分析を行った。ある大楽節の再生が終わったあとに、本来続くべき大楽節が再生されずに別の大楽節が誤って続けられるエラーでは、大楽節の冒頭から再生が続けられることが多く、大楽節の途中から再生されることは少なかった。この結果から、J-POPの記憶はAメロやサビといった大楽節の冒頭が再生されやすく、歌の再生におけるアクセスポイントとして機能していることが示唆された。実験2ではこの点の検証を行うために、大楽節の終わりと大楽節の途中のフレーズの終わりのメロディを手がかりとし、その後に続く次の大楽節冒頭またはフレーズ冒頭の歌詞を再生する実験を行った。その結果、大楽節冒頭の歌詞はフレーズ冒頭の歌詞よりも再生されやすく、仮説は支持された。J-POPの記憶にはその構造的特徴が反映され、大楽節の冒頭が再生のアクセスポイントとして機能していると考えられる。

We are teaching "Fundamental Experiment on Mechatronics". In this experiment, we tried to have students prepare for the experiment by watching a short lecture video, which explains the principle of the experiment, before the day of the experiment together with reading the instruction manual. As a result, we found that while some students were able to gain sufficient understanding, others either did not watch the videos or skipped them, and thus did not fully understand the experiments. In this study, we made a video explaining the principle of the experiment using the “Yukkuri Kaisetsu” slow commentary technique often used on YouTube, etc. The students were asked to watch the video voluntarily, and the results of a questionnaire survey on the ease of understanding were reported.

The Yaphetic theory of N. Marr and his followers had been propagated during last twenty years as the genuine Marxist theory of language. In June 1950, Stalin published his famous article, "On Marxism in Linguistics, " and gave Marr's theory a decisive blow. Being no linguist, he had to rely on critics of Marr, principally Prof. Chikobava at Tiflis University. Although his criticism created a sensation in the USSR, we can find little other than propositions usually found in text-books of comparative linguistics. In recent years the Yaphetic theory has met the strong opposition of the Moscow linguists headed by Academician Vinogradov. This opposition was based on traditional, i. e. comparative-historical linguistics. After Stalin's criticism, the Institute of Language and Thought, the citadel of Yaphetic theory, was dissolved, and in July 1950, a new Institute of Linguistics was established. Vinogradov, who had been accused by Marrists of being "reactionary, " was elected director. A review of the work of this new Institute in the last months indicates clearly that the currently-prevalent trend in Soviet linguistics is based on the comparative-historical method. The present day Soviet linguists emphasize historicism.

This study investigates the actual conditions of houses flooded by the 2020 Kyushu floods, and reports on the recovery procedures. The recovery procedures were organized in the chronological order based on the records of the technical guidance provided by the authors. The recovery process chart clarified the work process and the number of people required. In addition, the authors interviewed the victims and summarized the recovery work and period of one year after the disaster. It was found that it was difficult for residents to work alone immediately after the disaster and that it was necessary to secure personnel.

症例は61歳の女性で,嘔気を主訴に近医を受診した.上部消化管内視鏡で十二指腸第2部に潰瘍性病変を認め,生検で低分化腺癌と診断された.CTで門脈前後区域枝分岐部に接する造影効果の乏しい腫瘤を認め,十二指腸癌,肝転移の診断で全身化学療法が提案された.本人・家族がセカンドオピニオンを希望され,2病院を受診したのち症状出現から4か月後に当院紹介となった.精査で十二指腸癌,および肝炎症性偽腫瘍などを含めた肝腫瘤の診断にて膵頭十二指腸切除術,拡大肝後区域切除術を施行した.病理組織学的検査で十二指腸および肝臓ともに癌は認めず,壊死巣を伴う肉芽腫を認めた.壊死巣では術前に十二指腸生検で見られた癌細胞に類似する壊死細胞が認められ,免疫組織学的に壊死細胞はcytokeratin陽性であった.以上から,十二指腸癌および肝転移が自然消失したものと考えられた.十二指腸癌の自然消失の報告はなく,文献的考察を加えて報告する.

コロナ禍の中,室内空間における感染リスクを低減するためには,適正換気量を確保することが有効であると言われている。室内温度差がある場合,窓開放による漏気によって室内換気量を増加させることは可能である。そこで本研究では,窓開放による換気量増加がどの程度室内温熱環境に影響を及ぼすのか実測により明らかにした。結果として,夏季において高さ2mの窓を0.02m開けることで30m3/hの換気量を確保できた。また,窓の開口幅を増やすと換気量は増加するが温熱環境は悪化した。

The thermal environment of a house is a factor that affects sleep quality. Thus, for maintaining good health, it is important for houses to have an appropriate thermal environment. The influence of ventilation and air conditioning on a house’s thermal environment cannot be ignored. Here, we investigated differences in ventilation and air conditioning equipment by comparing and evaluating the sleep quality of residents using individual air conditioners or central air conditioning. The results suggested that the central air conditioning group had reduced sleep latency, which might increase sleep efficiency in summer.
