企業が持続的に成長するには、現在の事業領域と技術領域を超えた新たな領域での探索が有効な方策のひとつである。先行研究は、近傍領域の探索に傾斜しがちな企業の特性を指摘すると同時に、探索活動を類型化した上でそれぞれの効果を明らかにしてきた。本稿は、先行研究が注意を払ってこなかった探索をすすめるプロセスに着目し、その解明に貢献することを目的とする。まず、探索の階層性という新たな概念を提示したうえで、富士フイルムとコダックの探索戦略の違いを明らかにする。そして両社の盛衰が分かれた理由を、探索の階層性に立脚して探索プロセスの違いから考察する。

基礎物理定数が1999年末に十数年ぶりに大幅改訂され公表された. 実験と理論の進歩により多くの基礎物理定数が高精度化された. 得られたデータの比較・検討から, 我々は自然現象を理解するための手段として頼りにしているモデルの妥当性を検証することができる. 最近では, より高精度化された基礎物理定数が, 質量の単位キログラムの再定義を実現するための鍵として注目されている. 本稿ではミクロな世界とマクロな世界を結びつけるアボガドロ定数と, ミクロな世界を記述するプランク定数の測定方法について紹介し, これらの定数を使ったキログラム再定義の実現可能性について述べる.

The author investigated some village at the upper streams of the River Oi and Abe, Shizuoka Prefecture. Consequently I understood that tie internal social relation of the village at the upper stream of the river was extremely different from that of the village at its lower stream. I also noticed that the difference in the possession of forests was greatly related to the difference in the social relation as a result of an investigation in regard to the possession of forests in each village. Having researched how the difference in their possession occured in those villages, I observed that ultimately it had been caused by the geographical conditions of facility or difficulty of trafic (communication), the difference in agricultural productivity etc. I could understand that at the lower stream of the river, the forests were mnonopolized by a few men who lived in the village, while in the upper stream: of the river, they had been trausfered to timber merchants or other ones who were outside those villages. It was also known that the difference in the powers of the forest-owners had caused the difference in the social relation in each village.

In his last writing, Wittgenstein suggests that the border between empirical propositions and logical or mathematical propositions is continuous (I call this idea the ‘continuity thesis’ in this paper). The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate what brought about this idea and what it means.In the system of language games, just as the basic form of calculation cannot be mistaken insofar as far as it functions as the measure for other calculations, so the basic form of judgment cannot be mistaken since it functions as the measure for other judgments. However the basic forms of our language games are supported by various contingent and natural facts and therefore we cannot preclude the possibility that exceptional states of things which cause mistakes might change into ordinary states, and consequently our present scaffolding would break down. The doubt about Moorean propositions (e. g. ‘Here is a hand’) implies doubt about the background conditions or scaffolding of our ordinary judgments and to refuse these doubts means to refuse doubts about this basic form of judgments. In this respect Moorean propositions possess the logical status of a norm of inquiry which is similar to what mathematical propositions possess.It was the encounter with epistemological skepticism that led to Wittgenstein's continuity thesis. And this thesis shows the contingency of our epistemic norms and implies that the hardness of the epistemic ‘must’ consists in the fact that we must start from this scaffolding when we see this world from within the world.

本稿では,人間とロボットの間で自然なコミュニケーションの実現を目指し,コミュニケーションエージェントの感情モデルを提案する.提案モデルは,「怒り」,「嫌悪」,「恐れ」,「悲しみ」,「幸福」,「驚き」の6感情を持ち,ファジィ認知マップで構成されている.6感情を相互に結合することで,幸福だが悲しい,悲しくて恐ろしい,恐ろしくて嫌悪するといった複数の感情を同時に表現することができる.提案モデルは,時間的に変化する重みと時間遅れの要素を組み込んでいて,情動と気分,サーカディアンリズムを表現する.感覚遮断を模して1週間放置した実験では,周期的に過去の感情が励起する反応が観察された.

経皮経肝的門脈カテーテル法は門脈造影を始め,門脈圧測定さらには門脈圧亢進症に於ける胃冠状静脈塞栓術等の臨床診断並びに治療への応用が広く,且つ門脈血の経時的分析も可能であり,肝•膵疾患の病態の解析にも有力な手法となつており,現在我々の教室ではこれら疾患に於けるルーチンの検査として施行されている.本法を肝疾患56例,胆石症22例の計78例に施行し,75例(96.2%)に成功し,その成功率は極めて高い.合併症としては,内科的に改善をみた腹腔内出血の1例,他にいづれも一過性の発熱と肝機能の悪化の各々2例に留まつており,本法の安全性も極めて高い.本法の手技,各肝疾患に於ける門脈圧及び門脈血•末梢血のIRI•CPR測定値を報告し,経皮経肝的門脈カテーテル法の臨床的意義と展望について述べた.

The aim of this essay is to locate the ongoing resurgence of Anzac Day in the context of neoliberalist culture since the late 1980s. Approaching to the centenary years of the First World War, the Anzac tradition is capturing the interests as a subject of historical studies. Some historians argue the narrative surrounding Anzac Day works as a‘ civil religion’ to substitute Christianity in the secular, multicultural society, while others criticise the growing nationalistic attachment to the Anzac legend, allegedly promoted under the Howard government, as the‘ militarisation’ of Australian history. This essay focuses on the bipartisan social consciousness to use the Anzac myth as a source of national unity, with the rise of neo-liberalism from the Hawke labor government to the Abbott liberal government. The discursive shifts concerning Anzac Day over the last three decades demonstrate how the representation of history has been inclined to be more inclusive in terms of generation, ethnicity and cultural backgrounds. Various agents of memory, such as politicians, ex-servicemen, or academic historians, participate in constructing the cohesive memory which would incorporate non-Anglo-Celtic minorities in the diverse population including indigenous Australians. This apparently harmonious process of myth-making, however, came as a psychological retreat from the confronting debate on colonisation and the‘ frontier wars’. In some cases, the emphasis on the indigenous war service offers a symbolic‘ reconciliation’ through the Anzac tradition. That fits the political correctness in the multicultural society and mediates the fragile sense of community under neo-liberalism. But, as shown in the protest on Anzac Day in Canberra, the incorporation of indigenous history into the dominant nationalist narrative is still problematic and traumatic. In this sense, the recent revival of Anzac Day symbolises the ambivalent attitude to history and national unity in Australia.

This article presents an introduction to generalized additive models using R for data of mutually exclusive groups and a set of predictor variables. Illustrated herein are a number of resampling methods, that is cross-validation when selecting the optimum smoothing parameter, and bootstrapping applications that implement the bootstrap-based information when using the deviance in order to summarize the measure of goodness-of-fit on generalized additive models. The cross-validation is also adapted for influential analysis in order to verify the appropriateness of the model and to detect observations that do not agree with the rest of the data.

若年女性の発話における助詞や語尾のF0変化が「STとしての専門職らしさ」の印象に影響を与えるのかを印象評定により検討した.本研究での「STとしての専門職らしさ」は「経験が豊富である」「説得力がある」「自信がある」「勤勉である」「専門家らしい」「知的である」との印象と定義した.10名の若年女性の発話の助詞および語尾のF0を加工し,「語尾上げ・助詞上げ発話」と「語尾下げ・助詞下げ発話」を作成し,若年齢および高年齢評定者に提示して「STとしての専門職らしさ」の印象評定を行った.その結果,聴取者の性別や年齢にかかわらず,助詞や語尾のF0を下降させた発話がより「STとしての専門職らしさ」が高いと評定された.

補助人工心臓(VAD)の開発と承認などにより,移植待機中の患者の状態が多様化している今日の小児心臓移植医療の現場において,移植待機期間中,そして移植後も子どもとその家族への心理社会的支援の提供は重要である.医療環境下にある子どもや家族に,心理社会的支援を提供する専門職であるChild Life Specialist(CLS)は,小児心臓移植医療の現場において,①治癒的遊びと環境の提供,②医療体験への心の準備のサポート,③検査・処置中の心理的サポート,④退院・復学支援,⑤きょうだい・家族へのサポート,⑥グリーフ・サポートなどを通して,子どもたちが主体的に医療に臨めるように医療チームの一員として活動している.CLSを含む移植医療に関わる多職種が,チームで連携し協働することにより,子ども一人ひとりのニーズに合った支援の提供と,その家族全体の包括的な支援が心臓移植待機中,そして移植後も継続して可能になると考える.

The purpose of the present survey was to investigate the awareness of the public on the problems arising from provisioning. The social problems of provisioned wild Japanese macaques happens throughout Japan including Yakushima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture. A questionnaire was given to residents in Yakushima and to tourists visiting. Responses were obtained from 438 people. The results may be summarized as follows: (a) The majority of people questioned were aware of some of the social problems in wild Japanese macaques caused by provisioning. (b) Many people gave wild monkeys food for reasons of amusement and in the belief that it improved their situation. This questionnaire revealed that the public understood some of the issues described above but their actions appeared to contradict this. Consequently there is a need to develop a better understanding on the influence of man particularly in regard to feeding.

Numerous cultivars of Japanese flowering cherry (Prunus subgenus Cerasus) are recognized, but in many cases they are difficult to distinguish morphologically. Therefore, we evaluated the clonal status of 215 designated cultivars using 17 SSR markers. More than half the cultivars were morphologically distinct and had unique genotypes. However, 22 cultivars were found to consist of multiple clones, which probably originate from the chance seedlings, suggesting that their unique characteristics have not been maintained through propagation by grafting alone. We also identified 23 groups consisting of two or more cultivars with identical genotypes. Most members of these groups were putatively synonymously related and morphologically identical. However, some of them were probably derived from bud sport mutants and had distinct morphologies. SSR marker analysis provided useful insights into the clonal status of the examined Japanese flowering cherry cultivars and proved to be a useful tool for cultivar characterization.

This is a brief investigation of biological dosimetry for human subjects. During the past decade techniques have been developed for the analysis of radiation-induced chromosome aberrations in human lymphocytes. As a result, a vast amount of studies on chromosome aberrations induced by radiation in human lymphocytes have been carried out. These studies have revealed the relationships between aberration frequencies and absorbed doses. At present this method appears to be the most readily quantifiable one of biological dosimetry available.The problems associated with the use of this method in estimating radiation dose are discussed. These problems include time of sampling after irradiation, culture time, dose rate, type of radiation, temperature at the time of irradiation, etc.

世界における新規ヒト免疫不全ウイルス(HIV)感染の約8割は異性間の性的接触による.粘膜・皮膚表皮内ランゲルハンス細胞(LC)は,HIV感染初期においてHIVに対する初期免疫応答の誘導に重要な役割を担っている.さらに,LCに発現されるLangerinに捕獲されたHIVは不活化を受けることが最近明らかとなり,LCはHIVの侵入を防ぐバリアーとしても機能する.一方,Langerinによる不活化を免れたHIVは,CD4/CCR5を介してLCに感染し,これを足がかりとして生体内に侵入する(LCのPrimary gate keeper model).このように,LCはHIV感染初期に宿主にとって功罪様々な役割を担う.近年,世界的なHIVの流行を阻止するために,コンドーム以外の方法で性行為HIV感染を予防する外用マイクロビサイドの開発が試みられている.また,HIV以外の性感染症(STD)保有者のHIV感染リスクが数倍~数十倍高くなることから,STD治療も予防戦略の主軸となっている.最近,これらのHIV感染予防戦略がLCを介したHIVの生体内侵入に密接に関与していることが明らかとなりつつある.
