This paper proposes Deep Neural Network (DNN)-based Voice Conversion (VC) using input-to-output highway networks. VC is a speech synthesis technique that converts input features into output speech parameters, and DNN-based acoustic models for VC are used to estimate the output speech parameters from the input speech parameters. Given that the input and output are often in the same domain (e.g., cepstrum) in VC, this paper proposes a VC using highway networks connected from the input to output. The acoustic models predict the weighted spectral differentials between the input and output spectral parameters. The architecture not only alleviates over-smoothing effects that degrade speech quality, but also effectively represents the characteristics of spectral parameters. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed architecture outperforms Feed-Forward neural networks in terms of the speech quality and speaker individuality of the converted speech.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the game process on perception of “streaks” in volleyball games. The study was conducted using video experiments and a questionnaire. The study subjects were 121 university volleyball players, who watched a video of a volleyball game and were asked in the questionnaire to estimate the degree of “streaks” at the end of every rally. They rated the degree of “streaks” on an 11-point Likert scale ranging from −5=extremely poor, to 0=even, to +5= extremely good. The subjects were split into 2 groups, one of which watched VTR-A and the other VTR-B. In addition, the group that watched VTR-A was separated according to the time spent watching. One group watched all of the VTR (called VTR-A-1), and the other group watched an A team 11 vs a B team 11 (VTR-A-2, the score being indicated as A11-11B hereafter). ANOVA was used to test the likelihood that the group watched VTR-B (VTR-B-1, VTR-B-2) from A11-11B to the end of the game with the aim of revealing differences between every rally in detail. T-test was used to reveal differences between the effects of the game process. The results indicated that the VTR-A group was strongly influenced by the game process, whereas the VTR-B was affected only slightly.  In giving advice for volleyball practice, our findings suggest that if players perceive they are in a bad situation, adoption of a positive way of thinking may improve the game situation.

納豆様の無塩発酵大豆食品は,東南アジア大陸部の中国雲南省あたりが起源との見方がある.そして,雲南省を中心に,ミャンマー,タイ,ラオスにも納豆様の無塩発行大豆食品が分布している.ラオスの無塩大豆発酵食品は「トゥアナオ(腐った豆の意味)」と呼ばれ,北部の市場などで売られており,カオソーイと呼ばれる日本のうどんのような麺の辛子ミソには必ず入っている.しかし,ラオスのトゥアナオについては,ほとんど知られていない.発表では,ラオスの無塩発行大豆食品がいかにして製造され,そしてだれによって伝えられ,また,どのような経路で拡がっていったのか文化地理学的視点から考察する.

Various laboratory experiments were performed to examine the effects of H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) on R. philippinarum in this study. These results were as follows. 1) Most of clam closed its shell, in case was placed in the anoxic water. However, the number of clam that opened its shell increased with time. 20 hours later, the dying clam appeared after the clam extended the siphon and pelecypod. 2) H2S exposure had an insignificant effect on the clam, they closed shells. However, the clam was significantly affected by H2S exposure when they opened its shell and extended siphon and pelecypod. 3) When the water was hypoxic or anoxic before Blue tide occurrence (Aoshio), the clam would directly suffer severe effects of H2S because the extended soft tissue from the inside of shell was exposed.

ウイルス病は世界のエビ養殖産業に甚大な経済的被害をもたらしている。 アメリカにおいては Taura syndrome virus (TSV),Infectious hypodermal and hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHHNV) および Baculovirus penaei が重要な病原ウイルスとなっている。 これまでに多くのウイルス病対策が試みられてきたが, SPF (specific pathogen-free) あるいは SPR (specific pathogen resistant) の種または系統のエビを用いることが最良の防除対策であると考えられ, 最近アメリカでは TSV および IHHNV 耐性の Penaeus stylirostris の系統が養殖されている。

おもに江戸期に出版された版本をデジタル化した画像から,それぞれの文字を切り出すための手法と,その結果を利用したキャラクタスポッティングについて報告する.文字切り出しは,汚れやシミの除去,2値化,行の切り出し,ラベリング処理による文字の分離と統合の処理などからなっている.ここでは,2値化の処理は,頁全体,行単位,さらには局所的な文字のブロック単位でという風に順次適応的に適用することにより,汚れやシミの影響をあまり受けずに文字切り出しの精度を向上させることができた.また切り出しが成功した文字図形に対して,文字図形の類似性に基づくキャラクタスポッティングを行った.特徴量として,画素値と加重方向指数ヒストグラムを用いた場合について検討した.どちらの場合もある程度の結果を得ることができ,これをコンコーダンスやKWICの作成;;へ応用できることを示した.

My purpose of this paper consists in analysing<<the thought of community>>or<<thethought of the State>>in the thought of Emmanuel L&eacute;vinas. While a certain scholar did notalways come to study the subject of the State or the community in the history ofinterpretations of L&eacute;vinas, however, it does not only seem to be very important for me, butalso to be essential on deeply thinking the political thought of L&eacute;vinas, that the problem ofthe State or the familiy etc, namely, that of the community occupys a central place in thediscussion around, not only the political thought of L&eacute;vinas, but also his philosophicalthought. That is the reason why I would like to insist on these discussions in the use of thedecipherment lattice of Jacques Derrida's readings of L&eacute;vinas, from both a political levelviewpoint and a philosophical level viewpoint. In analysing these discussions or theseproblems, there are then two consequences, i.e., political consequense, and philosophicalconsequense. The latter is that of the philosophical discussion which concerns thedeconstruction of the philosophy founded by the representation from Platon to Heidegger,and the former is that of political discussion which is how to think actually, fundamentallyraison d'&ecirc;tre of the community, and so the perpetual peace. We will understand that thesetwo problems become the same problem in the philosophy of L&eacute;vinas.

ビスフェノールA (BPA) 含有量が高かったコーヒー及び紅茶飲料の相当缶を検討したところ, いずれもエポキシ樹脂コーティングに原因があったが,サイドシームや底蓋部でBPA濃度が極めて高かったり, 胴部がやや高いため缶全体の残存量が高いなど原因部位は様々であった. 水60及び95℃, 20%エタノール, <i>n</i>-ヘプタンではBPAは溶出しなかったが, 水120℃30分間では35~124ng/mL溶出した. 相当缶のBPA溶出量は材質中の残存量とほぼ一致し, 缶入飲料のBPA含有量とも近い値であった. BPAの移行は, コーティング中のBPA残存量と飲料の加熱条件に依存することが示された. 一方, 改良缶ではコーティング中のBPA量が大幅に減少しており, 溶出量は1/10以下に低減された.
