The porpose of this study was intended to investigate a establishment-process of Akita Amateur Sports Association and it's activities in the taisho era. The association was established in april 1923which had aims to spread and promot sports and gymnastics as private enterprise in Akita. The association had 10 sport sections (ski, skate, tennis, baseball, swimming, moutain-clumbing etc) andencoraged positively following kinds of sports and gymnastics.1. Akita olympic game.About 350 persons who attended from whole prefecture took part in a first game.2. A course meeting for gymnastics and sports.About 500 persons took part in a meeting that had the contents of theory and practice under the guidance of famous lecturers.3. A 10 days marathon between Tokyo and Akita.4. A movie tour and exhibition of sports meeting (ski, baseball)But all activities had more clumsiness than succes,especially a 10 days marathon. The association was criticized gradually loudly, so enterprise was extremely stagnant. The association started hastenan system and finance reform, but the result was not only insufficient but also caused necessity of a new reform on a lage scale.

I attempt to examine self-government by students in koyukai (student-teacher association in schools in prewar Japan) by analyzing the rules of koyukai in junior high school. Self-government by students in koyukai has not fully examined. Surely, teachers had powers over students in koyukai. The chairman was a principal, and the club managers were teachers. Student officers had to follow the teachers. The chairman had great power over the meeting. In these points, the system of koyukai was contrary to self-government by students. But self-government by students was seen in several points. Students participated in enacting rules of koyukai, and deciding the budget. They elected their own officers. But these self-government activities did not fully develop, because the word of "jichi" (self-government in Japanese) meant mainly order or discipline, and koyukai was functioned as an organization to control students.

A movement for basing educational facilities on nature, i.e. the "nature school", has been established in Japan since the 1980s, and has extended to various regions. Three factors are central to the background of this movement. These are the presentation of an proposed alternative to the conventional educational system, a sense of crisis regarding the sustainability of human society, and depopulation in rural areas. Outdoor education has become established as a profession over the last 20 years, and its social cognition has advanced. The "nature school" concept is expected to play a role as a "creative basis for a sustainable society".

先報(1991)では,『生涯スポーツ』概念の形成課程を吟味することと,その概念の実質的イメージについて検討した。そして,それらの作業に基づいて,生涯スポーツ概念と学校体育の機能との関係を問題にした。議論の結果,生涯スポーツや生涯体育の概念が活発に議論されて学校の機能・役割との関係も議論された割合には生涯スポーツの実態もイメージも余り明確でなく,従って両者の関係も曖昧モコとしていることが明らかになった。そして,生涯スポーツ運動に連動する形で,中等教育学校で<習熟度別授業>や<選択制履修授業(以下「選択制」と略す)>を積極的に位置づけようとする働きが,理論的にも実質的にも相当不可解なものと理解された。さらに,こうした実態もイメージも不明確な状況でありながら,それでいて体育の教科内容や教科課程にかかわる問題意識は一般にさほど高くない。少なくとも,日本体育学会や日本教科教育学会でみる限り,こうした学校内外の体育・スポーツの将来構想にかかわる問題意識をもつテーマは,一部シンポジウム等を除けば最近の5年間ほとんど設定されていない事実も認められる。そこで,生涯スポーツに関連させようとする学校体育の趨勢,即ち代表的には選択制の導入等は今日的に,かつ将来的にはいかなる意味をもち,学校教育にどのような影響をおよぼすかについて,改めて予測的に検討したい。その際,スポーツや運動は,<国民的教養>あるいは<国民的権利>とさえ把握されようとしてきた思想や社会的運動そして歴史・伝統に,学校体育が現実にどうかかわっていけるのかという視点を軸としたい。

Herbert Spencer (1820-1903) included an evolutionary psychology in his synthetic philosophy. In this paper I treated the development of theory of emotion in his psychology. Spencer had four sources in his theory of emotion: Lamarkian theory of evolution, phrenology, association psychology, and theory of moral sense. Though association psychology which comes from empiricism is opposed to moral sense which is an inherent ability, he was able to dissolve the opposition through the Lamarkian theory of evolution which admits that an individual can hand down the ability he got to the next generation. From phrenology, he socceeded the opinion that psychological functions have their seats only in brain and nerve. Spencer gave a brief account of emotion in his early work (The Principles of Psychology, first edtion, 1855), but in the late 1850s he gradually considered it important. Through his reading Alexander Bain's The Emotion and the Will (1859), emotion occupied an important place in his system. In the second edtion of The Principles of Psychology (2vols. 1870-1872) he discussed the formation of social sentiments which is the base of social morality in his evolutionary way, and made it possible to engage psychology with sociology and ethics.
