平成20年10月から平成21年3月末の期間に、東京都23区を主として神奈川県・埼玉県・千葉県・群馬県・栃木県・茨城県内に存在する木造建物による理髪店の現地調査を行った。なお、調査中理髪店の隣や近くに同業種で建築形態が似ている美容店の存在が多くあったので、理髪店の近隣に美容店があった時は調査に加えた。調査数は理髪店が184棟、美容店が60棟の合計244棟であるが、理髪・美容店舗は毎月第2・3週が連休であることや、お客が来店中は基本的には内部の調査は出来ないので外観・内部の調査及び、経営者のヒアリングまでできたのは理髪店71棟、美容店7棟、合計78棟で全調査数の約32%である。理髪店は国民の生活衛生を担っているが、理容師法により建物の構造設置基準の遵守、衛生設備等の管理、保健所の年1回の定期検査等がある中で、理容師法上理髪店と美容店の同居営業は認められていない。「1000円カット」の店舗は理容師法の構造設置基準を逸脱していないことや、お客の需要により今後増加傾向にあるが、衛生設備の維持管理がおろそかになりがちなので許認可権のある保健所の監視が大切である。さらに、駅前に床面積が広く低料金のチェーン店の進出によりこれまでの住宅街の理髪店へのお客が減っていることや、経営者の高齢化で店を閉じていること。東京都や他の六県でも大正時代や戦前の木造建物が存在しているが、東京都内は当時のままの造作が残っている店舗はなかったが、埼玉県内では4棟存在していたことで、当時の理髪店の建物の構法・使用材・プランや洗髪器具や衛生器具及び椅子といった設備からも室内の造り方にも大変に影響を受けており、建物の外内部の使用材や衛生設備の状況を判断することにより、建物の建設年代や経過年数がおよそ把握できるようになった。そして、経営者のヒアリング及び建物内の実測ができたことで、木造建物による理髪店の歴史的変遷や建築学形態について詳細な成果を得られた。

In vivo radioprotection of C3H mice by i.p. administration of Zn-, Mn-, Cu-, or Se-containing heat-treated Saccharomyces serevisiae yeast sample was examined. The 30-day survival of the group treated 30 min before 7.5 Gy whole-body X-irradiation with mineral-containing yeast powders suspended in 0.5% methylcellulose was significantly higher than that of control group. When mineral-yeast was administered immediately after irradiation, the survival rate was even higher and Zn- or Cu-yeast showed the highest rate (more than 90%). Although treatment with simple yeast showed a high survival rate (73%), it was significantly lower than that obtained by the Zn-yeast treatment. The effects of Zn-yeast were studied further. When the interval between irradiation and administration was varied, the protective activity of Zn-yeast decreased gradually by increasing the interval but was still significantly high for the administration at 10 h post-irradiation. The dose reduction factor of Zn-yeast (100 mg/kg, i.p. administration immediately after irradiation) was about 1.2. When the suspension of Zn-yeast was fractionated by centrifugation, the insoluble fraction showed a potent effect, while the soluble fraction had only a moderate effect. In conclusion, mineral-yeast, especially Zn-yeast, provides remarkable post-irradiation protection against lethal whole body X-irradiation. The activity is mainly attributable to the insoluble fraction, whereas some soluble components might contribute to the additional protective activity.

近年,高い圧縮率と高速な問い合わせを両立するデータ構造として,簡潔データ構造(succinct data structure)が注目されている. 簡潔データ構造は理論的な発展とともに,実用化に向けた改善が進んでおり,今後様々な分野でその用途がさらに広がっていくと期待される.この記事では,簡潔データ構造の仕組みと,その利用事例について解説する.

The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Disaster caused an LPG leak incident at a plant in Higashinada ward, Kobe city. Kobe municipal authorities announced evacuation recommendation to 72,000 inhabitants. A questionnaire was conducted to know when, where and how the inhabitants received the information of evacuation recommendation. Results of the questionnaire are as follows : ・In the day the evacuation order was announced, 9.9% of inhabitants in the recommendation area concerned did not receive the information of the recommendation. ・The farther from the plant where the incident happened, the more lately inhabitants received the information of the recommendation. ・Though about 80% of people who received the information of the recommendation become aware of the cause of it, many of them didn't know the further information.

The frequency regions and spectral features that can be used to measure the perceived similarity and continuity of voice quality are reported here. A perceptual evaluation test was conducted to assess the naturalness of spoken sentences in which either a vowel or a long vowel of the original speaker was replaced by that of another. Correlation analysis between the evaluation score and the spectral feature distance was conducted to select the spectral features that were expected to be effective in measuring the voice quality and to identify the appropriate speech segment of another speaker. The mel-frequency cepstrum coefficient (MFCC) and the spectral center of gravity (COG) in the low-, middle-, and high-frequency regions were selected. A perceptual paired comparison test was carried out to confirm the effectiveness of the spectral features. The results showed that the MFCC was effective for spectra across a wide range of frequency regions, the COG was effective in the low- and high-frequency regions, and the effective spectral features differed among the original speakers.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of employing collages and a career matrix in career education for third graders in a junior high school. First, the teacher asked students to use a career matrix. Next, the students were divided into several groups and asked to make a collage about a job and then to talk about various jobs based on the collages. The Career Maturity Attitude Scale questionnaire was implemented before and after the learning process. The results show that the students awareness of the importance of a career choice changed positively after the lesson.

単身赴任者と家族同居者における生活習慣,ストレス状況および健診結果の比較―MYヘルスアップ研究から―:森山葉子ほか.東京大学大学院医学系研究科公衆衛生学―目的:全国に支社を持つある金融保険系企業の男性従業員を対象に,生活習慣,ストレス状況および健診結果について,有配偶単身赴任者と有配偶同居者との比較を行うこととした.対象と方法:2004年の定期健康診断を受診しており,かつ同年に実施した質問票による調査に回答した男性のうち,有配偶であり40代および50代の事務職である3,026名を調査対象とした.質問票の配偶者はいるかとの問いに,「はい」と答えた者を同居群,「はい(単身赴任中)」と答えた者を単身赴任群とした.生活習慣については運動,飲酒,喫煙習慣など12項目を,ストレス状況については,質問票内の職業性ストレス簡易調査票の下位尺度から,活気の低下,イライラ感,疲労感,不安感,抑うつ感,身体愁訴の6項目について喫煙者と非喫煙者を層化してχ2検定で分析した.健診結果についてはBMI,収縮期血圧,拡張期血圧,空腹時血糖,GOT,GPT,γ-GTP,総コレステロール,中性脂肪,HDLコレステロール,赤血球,白血球を用いて,単身赴任との関連を年齢と喫煙を共変量として回帰分析で検討した.結果:単身赴任群は同居群と比較した結果,運動・喫煙・飲酒・食生活・休日日数などの生活習慣が好ましくない者が多く,ストレス状況では喫煙者においてイライラ感と不安感,抑うつ感が高く,健康状況を示す健診結果については,総コレステロール,中性脂肪,白血球数が高かった.結論:本研究は,有配偶単身赴任者において食生活などの生活習慣が好ましくない者が多く,ストレス状況のイライラ感と不安感,抑うつ感が高く,健診結果において脂質関連の数値が高いことを示した.

Killer whales Orcinus orca are cosmopolitan in distribution, but study sites are restricted to small geographic areas, primarily shore-based and boat-based studies focusing on nearshore areas. To contribute understanding about the biology of killer whales in pelagic areas, we created photographic identification catalogue of killer whales sighted during T/S Oshoro-maru cruise to the northern North Pacific, Bering Sea and Chukchi Sea in 2003, 2005-2009. For 6 years, 37 groups were found, containing 182 whales, and 29 individuals were identified from left side photos of dorsal fin. No individual was re-sighted within-year, nor between-year. And no matches were found between killer whales observed in Alaska, Russian far east seas, Kushiro and Shiretoko, Japan. Our result can serve as background information for the future study of pelagic killer whales.
