本研究は,東京都新宿区大久保地区における韓国系ビジネスの機能変容を,経営者のエスニック戦略の分析から明らかにした.大久保地区では,韓国人ニューカマーの増加に伴い韓国系ビジネスが集積し始め,その後一般市場へ進出していった.その背景には,韓流ブームによって開かれたホスト社会の機会構造の下,経営者が用いたエスニック戦略の役割があった.韓国系ビジネスでは,ホスト社会の需要を事前に把握した経営者が,豊富な人的資源を用いて韓国飲食店のほか,韓流グッズ店や韓国コスメ店など韓国文化の商品化を通じた娯楽性の高い新業種を展開する多角経営を行うと同時に,日本人顧客の確保に重点を置いた立地戦略をとっていた.その結果,大久保地区の韓国系ビジネスは,従来の同胞顧客に向けた財やサービスの提供機能に加え,広域なホスト社会の日本人顧客に向けてエスニック財やサービスを提供する娯楽機能を有するようになったといえる.

幼児教育から企業での人材教育までの教育において,AIによって刻々と変わる社会の仕組みが変わり,文部科学省でも2014年から教育改革が遂行されているが,大人はこれまで受けてきた教育方法しかわからないため,今の固定概念や常識を一旦クリアにし,柔軟性を持つ必要性があると考える.一方的に教える教育から,自らが考えて創り出していける柔軟な人材の教育へと移行していくことがこれかの教育者には必須だ.しかし,企業においても教育現場においても新しい人材の育成や教育にどう対応していったらいいのかを模索しているのが現状.人間の行動は,意識的な行動は2-4%であり,無意識による行動は96-98%であるため,無意識下に働きかけることが必須である.無意識の知覚や行動は,背骨にある自律神経系が司っているため,自律神経に働きかけるには振動(周波数)を活用するしか手段はない.そこで,幼児教育や企業研修に関わる教育者対象に,色・音・光を使った教材によってどのような変化が起こるかを実験した.

子宮広間膜により腹壁背部から吊り下げられている牛の子宮には,捻転が生じても正常な位置へ戻る力が働いている.押し込み保持法は,その元に戻る力を引き出すように,子宮を押し込み続けて子宮捻転を整復するという新しい概念に基づく用手整復方法である.本法では,① 回転ではなく押し込む力を加えること ② 押し込み続けること ③ 胎子ではなく子宮に力を加えることの3点が重要となる.本法の適応は,分娩時に発症し産道に手を挿入可能な症例であり,整復開始時に胎子を産道から触知できない症例も含まれた.未破水の症例では人工破水を行う必要はなかった.6年間で子宮捻転の35例に本法を適応し,27例の整復に成功し胎子生存率は70%であった.本法は,従来法と比べ,短時間で省力的に整復でき,適応症例の範囲も広く,子宮捻転の用手整復率向上に寄与すると考えられる.

Calcium transients drive cells to discharge prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). We visualized PGE2-induced protein kinase A (PKA) activation and quantitated PGE2 secreted from a single cell by combining fluorescence microscopy and a simulation model. For this purpose, we first prepared PGE2-producer cells that express either an optogenetic or a chemogenetic calcium channel stimulator: OptoSTIM1 or Gq-DREADD, respectively. Second, we prepared reporter cells expressing the Gs-coupled PGE2 reporter EP2 and the PKA biosensor Booster-PKA, which is based on the principle of Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET). Upon the stimulation-induced triggering of calcium transients, a single producer cell discharges PGE2 to stimulate PKA in the surrounding reporter cells. Due to the flow of the medium, the PKA-activated area exhibited a comet-like smear when HeLa cells were used. In contrast, radial PKA activation was observed when confluent MDCK cells were used, indicating that PGE2 diffusion was restricted to the basolateral space. By fitting the radius of the PKA-activated area to a simulation model based on simple diffusion, we estimated that a single HeLa cell secretes 0.25 fmol PGE2 upon a single calcium transient to activate PKA in more than 1000 neighboring cells. This model also predicts that the PGE2 discharge rate is comparable to the diffusion rate. Thus, our method quantitatively envisions that a single calcium transient affects more than 1000 neighboring cells via PGE2.Key words: prostaglandin E2, imaging, intercellular communication, biosensor, quantification

Background: The Japan Coma Scale (JCS) is the most frequently adopted method for evaluating level of consciousness in Japan. However, no validated method for converting the JCS to Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) exists. The aims of the present study were to develop and validate a method to convert the JCS to GCS.Methods: This is a multicenter retrospective cohort study involving three emergency departments (EDs) in Japan. We included all adult patients who visited the ED between 2017 and 2020. The participating facilities were divided into two cohorts—one cohort to develop a table to convert the JCS to GCS (development cohort), and the other cohort to validate the conversion table (validation cohort). The conversion table of the JCS to GCS was developed based on the median values of the GCS. The outcome was the concordance rate between the JCS and GCS.Results: We identified 8,194 eligible patients. The development cohort included 7,373 patients and the validation cohort included 821 patients. In the validation cohort, the absolute and relative concordance rates were 80.3% (95% confidence interval, 77.4–82.9%) and 93.2% (95% confidence interval, 91.2–94.8%), respectively.Conclusions: This study developed and validated a novel method for converting the JCS to GCS. Assuming the offset by a single category between the JCS and GCS is acceptable, the concordance rate was over 90% in the general adult patient population visiting the ED. The conversion method may assist researchers to convert JCS into GCS, which is more commonly recognized among global audiences.

地震に代表される自然災害の多いわが国では、災害発生時に被災地の医療を支援するため、避難者の健康を管理するために、DMAT・DPAT・DHEATなどに代表される保健医療支援活動従事者が、被災地において支援活動を行う。本研究では,発災直後から復興期にかけて保健医療支援活動従事者が、どのように組織され、どのような活動をどのように行なっているかを論じる。また、近年では、保健医療支援活動を支える情報技術も整備されつつあり、情報を利活用する災害時の保健医療支援活動についてマネジメントの視点を交えて説明する。

An MJMA 6.7 (Mw 6.2) earthquake occurred in Northern Nagano, Japan, on November 22, 2014. While the damage in the city center of Nagano was relatively minor, 65 stone lanterns, among 182, standing in the precinct of the Zenkoji Temple, approximately 25 km from the epicenter, were toppled by the ground motion of this earthquake. Damage of the surrounding residential area was minor. Directions of the collapse were dominantly in the north-south. Strong motion seismograms recorded at nearby JMA Nagano Local Meteorological Observatory were rich in high frequency, especially in the NS component, which explains collapse of stone objects whose natural periods are few tenths of a second. Similar damage was documented in a historic earthquake in 1714, and recurrence of such damage implies that high frequency ground motions from large earthquakes in this epicentral area have been repeated threats to the Zenkoji Temple and Nagano City.

線維筋痛症は,臨床検査や画像検査で異常所見が認められないため,自覚症状から診断せざるを得ないリウマチ性疾患の代表的な疾患であり,慢性疼痛のモデル的疾患でもある.中高年の女性に多く発症し,全身の筋肉や腱等の結合組織の痛みを中心に多彩な心身の愁訴を有するために,十分な鑑別診断が必要であるが,近年注目され始めた「機能性身体症候群」の概念が線維筋痛症の病態を理解するうえで有用である.リウマチ性疾患のなかでの線維筋痛症の位置付けや機能性身体症候群との関わり,診断と治療について論ずる.

バラ科キイチゴ属(Rubus)は先駆性の低木種であり,開放的な環境が形成されるといち早く侵入・繁茂し,さまざまな鳥類や哺乳類が果実を利用する典型的な周食型散布植物である.本研究では,自動撮影カメラを用いて,中部日本のスギ林に生育するキイチゴ属3種(クサイチゴ Rubus hirsutus,モミジイチゴ R. palmatus,クマイチゴ R. crataegifolius)の量的に有効な種子散布者を明らかにすることを目的とした.調査は石川県農林総合研究センター林業試験場内のスギ人工林において,間伐施業後に出現したキイチゴ属3種を対象として,2019年5月9日~7月10日に行なった.自動撮影カメラLtl-Acorn6210MCをもちいて,熟した果実(クサイチゴ108個,モミジイチゴ489個,クマイチゴ168個)と落果(モミジイチゴ32個)の果実持ち去り動物を記録した.キイチゴ属3種ともに3週間で83%以上の果実が樹上から消失した.果実持ち去り数の割合が上位の動物は,クサイチゴでアナグマ(総持ち去り数の30.4%),ニホンザル(27.8%),ヒヨドリ(19.0%),モミジイチゴでヒヨドリ(59.7%)とニホンザル(37.4%),クマイチゴでヒヨドリ(78.2%)とニホンザル(20.4%)だった.ヒヨドリが散布したクマイチゴの種子の発芽率は3.2%(N=189)だった.果実持ち去り数が上位であったヒヨドリとニホンザル,さらにアナグマはキイチゴ属3種の量的に有効な種子散布者と考えられた.これらの3種の動物は,発芽能力のある種子を散布し,その散布範囲は動物種によって数十ヘクタールから数平方キロメートルの範囲内に散布する可能性があることから,質的にも有効な種子散布者である可能性が高いと考えられた.

2004年(平成16年)、その「文化的景観」が評価された「紀伊山地の霊場と参詣道」が世界遺産リストに登録された。これにより熊野三山をつなぐ参詣道も、「熊野古道」として多くの人々を引き寄せる観光スポットとして現代に蘇ることになった。しかし、2011年(平成23年)9月初旬、西日本を襲った台風12号は紀伊半島に特に甚大な被害をもたらし、我が国において平成以降最悪の水害となった。もちろん世界遺産を構成する各遺産の被害も深刻であり、なお復旧作業は継続中である。しかし、その復旧の現場では文化遺産をめぐる制度に対する様々な疑義や相対化の語りが聞かれる。本稿は、熊野の各文化遺産の復旧をめぐるこれらの語りを分析し、そこに災害前とどのような変容があるか、またその変容が何を意味しているのかを分析するものである。本稿では、モノが文化遺産化される際に、あらたな文脈に配置されることでそのモノの意味や価値が変容していくという文化遺産をめぐる再文脈化の視点からこれらの語りの分析を行う。そして平時にはグローバルな文脈である世界遺産制度やナショナルな文脈である国の文化財制度によって後景化しているローカルな文脈の価値や意味の、災害を契機とした再浮上を考察するものである。

The aim of this paper is to examine the history of the "art competitions" in the modern Olympics, and thus to cast a new light on the boundary problem between art and sport. Pierre de Coubertin, the principal founder of the modern Olympics, held up an ideal of reunification of muscle and mind, and proposed to introduce five art competitions -in architecture, sculpture, painting, music and literature- within the course of the Olympic games. Then "art competitions" were successfully held in seven Olympiads from 1912 to 1948; but they were replaced by "art exhibitions" without medals from the Helsinki Olympics (1952) onward. In spite of Courbertin's personal enthusiasm for art, some of the IOC members remained skeptical of the art competitions, mainly because they seemed incompatible with the amateurism policy of the Olympics: participants therein were professional artists in most cases, and the prizewinning artworks were often traded openly at high prices. Added to this issue, art was condemned for lack of the qualification to rank with the Olympic sports, from the viewpoints that it has no uniform rules and no clear criteria for evaluation like athletic games, and that prizewinning artists are in general much older as compared to athletes, violating the Olympic ideal of "youthfulness." The introduction and abolition of the Olympic art competitions thus suggests the fundamental discrepancy in cultural and social status between art and sport, while our attention is too often directed merely to their alikeness or affinity.
