人工知能、生命工学、製造技術などのテクノロジが、現在の延長線上では考えられないようなスピードで進化を始める時点を「技術的特異点 (テクノロジカル・シンギュラリティ) と呼ぶ。シンギュラリティに到達すると、あらゆる社会生活およびビジネスに大きな変化が生じると考えられている。「人工知能が人類を滅ぼしてしまうのではないか」という懸念がある一方、「幾何級数的に進化するテクノロジにより、世界の抱えている課題はそのほとんどが解決可能である」という明るい未来予測もある。「テクノロジカル・シンギュラリティ」という言葉を初めて提唱した未来学者レイ・カーツワイル氏は後者の考えで、カリフォルニアのシリコンバレーに「シンギュラリティ大学」を創設した。世界中から優秀な頭脳を集めて世界の問題解決に挑むと同時に「エグゼクティブ・プログラム」などを通じてその考えを全世界に広めようとしている。本講演では、講師が本年7月に米国シンギュラリティ大学・エグゼクティブ・プログラムで学んできた内容をベースに未来はどうなるのか、私たちは何をすべきか等について述べていく。

翼手目(コウモリ類)は生物学的多様性とその分布・移動域の広さ、巨大なコロニー形成などの特徴をもつ特異な生物である。また、エボラウイルスなどの高病原性病原体の自然宿主と疑われており、病原体レゼルボアとして高いリスクをもつ。本研究はフィリピンにおいて翼手目の保有病原体の疫学調査を実施し、翼手目の人獣共通感染症のレゼルボアとしての評価を行うことを目的とした。ミンダナオ島、ルソン島中央部、ルソン島北西部においてそれぞれ捕獲調査を行い、合計266匹の翼手目を採取した。これらのサンプルより新規のレオウイルス、ハンタウイルスを見出し、さらに病原性細菌や原虫を保有していることも明らかにした。

Deformation textures (i. e. fracturing, plastic deformation, recrystallization, vitrification, phase transforma-tion, and melting) in naturally and artificially shocked mineral crystals have been reported. The main part of this report is devoted to a description of the shock-induced residual effects in olivine and orthopyroxene crystals recovered from shock experiments by transmission electron microscopic observation. Deformation textures in naturally shocked olivine crystals from some meteorites were also described.

The purpose of this study was to investigate tee-batting skills in relation to ground reaction forces. Eithteen batters tried seven swings on the force platform recording three-dimensional kinetic data. A video camera (60 fps) was used to measure ball velocity and swing velocity. The following results were obtnined. 1) A statistically significant correlation was observed between the swing velocity and the swing time. 2 Statistically significant correlations were observed between the swing velocity and the anteroposterior forces during backward swing phase, the mean power calculated from the anteroposterior force during forward swing phase. 3) Statistically significant correlations were obtained betwben the swing velocity, the ball velocity and the mediolateral distance of the CG of the body from the starting position during backward swing phase. 4) The swing velocity and the ball velocity significantly correlated with the mediolateral distance of the CG of the body between the starting phase and the impact phase. 5) Coefficient of variations (cv) of the vertical forces during backward swing phase and the mean power calculated from the vertical force significantly correlated with cv of the swing velocity. CV of the vertical power of the CG of the body significantly correlated with cv of the ball velocity. These findings suggest that the batter should move the body toward the opposite side of the ball and the anterior direction just before the starting phase of the forward swing to obtain the high swing velocity. The result also suggests that the batter should control the vertical movement during backward and forward swing to obtain the high reproducibility of batting.

<p> 現在、全日本大学野球連盟に所属する26連盟の公式戦においては春季リーグ戦、秋季リーグ戦ともに勝ち点制を採用している連盟がほとんどである。勝ち点制とは、同一カードで先に2勝した方が勝ち点1を獲得する方式である。筆者は、野球の試合において、先に得点したチームの勝率について、高校野球(2009)、学童野球(2012)、社会人野球(2014)で7割以上の勝率であることを報告した。大学野球における勝ち点制においても、先勝したチームが勝ち点を獲得するのに有利になるのではないかと考えた。</p><p> 本研究では、大学野球の勝ち点制で先勝した場合の勝率について分析した結果について報告する。対象は、全日本大学野球連盟に所属する18連盟で、2005年から2015年の10年間の春季リーグ戦と秋季リーグ戦について分析した。その結果、春季リーグ戦、秋季リーグ戦ともに7割以上の勝率であることが明らかになった。</p>

High schools and secondary schools are major stakeholders in university entrance examinations. In order for the examinations to function properly, it is desirable for those schools and the university to understand each other’s activities and have a good relationship. This time, I planned regular surveys to achieve this. I gave them an interface function for exchanging opinions. In this paper, I report on the preliminary survey and the first main survey conducted in 2021. In the preliminary survey, I checked whether the purpose of main surveys would be acceptable by the school officials and confirmed several points that might cause problems in the implementation of the main surveys. The first main survey was conducted by utilizing the results of the preliminary survey, and no major problems were found in the implementation.

In this paper, we report on the practice of effective online lessons using the learner's program execution history and the web conferencing system. Online lessons aimed at completing tasks for a particular group of learners were performed using a web conferencing system. The teacher's materials were presented to learners. Learners were able to ask questions at any time. It was shown that the teacher could grasp the learner's condition and provide appropriate support by checking the learner's program execution history. In addition, it was shown that the lack of understanding of learners could be effectively pointed out even in a short time by providing opportunities for individual guidance using the web conferencing system. Compared to face-to-face lessons, online lessons in programming based on the execution history of the program can be effective while making clear the understanding status of the learners.

弥生時代の遣跡から出土する「イノシシ」について,家畜化されたブタかどうか,再検討を行った。その結果,「イノシシ」が多く出土している九州から関東までの8遺跡では,すべての遺跡でブタがかなり多く含まれていることが明らかとなった。それらのブタは,イノシシに比べて後頭部が丸く吻部が広くなっていることが特徴である。また,大小3タイプ以上は区別できるので,複数の品種があると思われる。その形質的特徴から,筆者は弥生時代のブタは日本でイノシシを家畜化したものではなく,中国大陸からの渡来人によって日本にもたらされたものと考えている。また,ブタの頭部の骨は,頭頂部から縦に割られているものが多いが,これは縄文時代には見られなかった解体方法である。さらに,下顎骨の一部に穴があけられたものが多く出土しており,そこに棒を通して儀礼的に取り扱われた例も知られている。縄文時代のイノシシの下顎骨には,穴があけられたものはまったくなく,この取り扱い方は弥生時代に特有のものである。このことから,弥生時代のブタは,食用とされただけではなく農耕儀礼にも用いられたと思われる。すなわち,稲作とその道具のみが伝わって弥生時代が始まったのではなく,ブタなどの農耕家畜を伴なう文化の全生活体系が渡来人と共に日本に伝わり,弥生時代が始まったと考えられるのである。

This paper studies a tomb found at Minet el-Beida in 1997. Fortunately, it seems that the tomb was not looted, and many grave goods were intact. These were the first materials recovered from Minet el-Beida since Schaeffer stopped the excavations in 1932, six decades before and have significant value for the archaeological study of the Late Bronze Age in the East Mediterranean world. This study aims to consider how long the tomb was in use by studying the structure of the tomb and the finds in it such as Mycenaean and Cypriote pottery.The tomb was built entirely of ashlars. It has one chamber of rectangular shape and is equipped with ashlar steps and a dromos, a short passage connecting the chamber to the outside. This type of tomb is commonly seen at Ras shamra, Minet el-Beida and Ras ibn Hani, and seems to date from the Late Bronze Age II, that is the 14th to 13th centuries B. C.Twenty-eight pieces of Mycenaean pottery and twenty-nine pieces of Cypriote pottery were recovered from the tomb. The Mycenaean pottery includes stirrup jars, alabastra and piriform jars. The chronological analysis in this paper suggests that most of the Mycenaean pottery dates back to the Late Helladic IIIB, several to the Late Helladic IIIA2, and one to the Late Helladic IIIB to IIIC1. The Cypriote pottery consists of white shaved ware and white slip II ware, which are also called milk bowls. The former are dated to the Late Cypriote IB to IIB and the latter to the Late Cypriote IIC1.In conclusion, it seems that the tomb started being used in the Late Helladic IIIA2 and was abandoned in the Late Helladic IIIB, that is, that it was used for about 165 years, between 1350 B. C. and 1185 B. C.
