クロス言語検索手法GDMAXは, 日本語入力から英語ドキュメントの検索を可能にする. GDMAXは, 対訳辞書によって入力キュエリから翻訳キュエリ候補を生成し, キュエリからそれぞれの言語のコーパスにおけるキュエリタームの共起頻度を成分とすそ共起頻度ベクトルを生成する. 入力共起頻度ベクトルと翻訳共起頻度ベクトルとの距離によって, 翻訳キュエリ候補をランキングし, 上位の英語キュエリ集合を検索キュエリとする. この手法によって, 一つの対訳だけでなく適切な複数の訳語集合を英言語キュエリとして得ることができる. ウォールストリートジャーナルやAP通信など2ギガの英語ドキュメントについて適合率と再現率で評価したところ, 理想訳と比べて約62%の精度を得て, 対訳辞書のすべての訳語候補を用いる場合と比べて12%, 機械翻訳による訳語選択と比べて6%高い精度を得ることができた.

研究目的力織機の下打式の杼投運動に関する従来より, より実測値と一致する解析式を求めるため, ピッヤングステッキ並びにサイドレバをばね並びにその先端の集中質量に置換してラプラス変換を用いて計算した.研究結果シヤットルの運動, レバ並びにステッキの先端の撓み, サイドレバステッキキヤップ間の力等が計算され, またシヤットルの運動については実測とよく一致することが確められた.

アメリカの総人口は増加し続けているが、中には人口が減少しつつある都市もある。そして、中には独自の政策により空き家の増加などの問題に対処している都市がある。本研究ではそのような独自の政策を行っている都市の調査を行った。我々はアメリカのミシガン州フリント市とオハイオ州ヤングスタウン市の2都市を訪れた。フリント市では「ランドバンク」と呼ばれる政策が行われており、ランドバンクでは固定資産税を払えなくなった人の物件が不動産投機家の手に渡る前に、ランドバンクの所有になるようにしている。ランドバンクが管理することにより、放棄地のコントロールが可能となった。ヤングスタウン市には「ヤングスタウン2010」と呼ばれるマスタープランがある。それは縮小型都市政策であり、現在、実行されているところである。

The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald's tour de force, is an endless array of "mismatches." They are extensively seen in Gatsby's taste and behavior, including his courtship of Daisy. Even his own name is a "mismatch," meaning a WASP gangster armed with a pistol. Moreover, the milieu for Gatsby's out-of-date quest is New York in the 1920s, an appalling "mismatch" of material prosperity and spiritual dilapidation. These "mismatches" are sometimes comical, and yet ominous enough to prefigure the approaching catastrophe. In addition, practically all the characters except Nick are mentally contaminated more or less by omnipotent money. The end of Gatsby's dream illustrates that the American Dream of success has vanished as in the money-oriented society the great class difference has now become insurmountable. Nick's story of "mismatches" and the moral depravity in the East ends up with an unnatural sense of hope-with his external message that we "beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." The appeal, however, sounds somehow weak, because it is made by Nick who, instead of staying on in the East, has severed all his relation to the East, and chosen a kind of regression to his native Mid-west. It seems that the restoration of moral order in America was so difficult that he had to turn his back totally on its corrupt realities. However, does it not mean a defeat, rather than a hope, on Nick's part? Actually, Nick's resolution and appeal make a contradiction. This double-mindedness forms the real theme of The Great Gatsby, pointing up Fitzgerald's own awareness, acquired through his affairs with Ginevra and Zelda, of the depraving yet irresistible power of money.

ここに記載・図示するのはイリアンジャヤないしパプアニューギニア産のタテハチョウ科(ジャノメチョウ亜科)の新属Altiapaと,26新種,その内訳はセセリチョウ科17種,シジミチョウ科7種,タテハチョウ科2種である.これらの分類学的位置はつぎのとおり:セセリチョウ科(アカセセリ亜科)-Prada maria, Pastria grinpela, Kobrona sebana, K. zadma, K. lexa, K. sota, Sabera madrella, Mimene celiaba, M. saribana, M. ozada, M. verda, M. wara, Ocybadistes zelda, Telicota bulwa, T. sadrella, T. brandti, T. mimena;シジミチョウ科(アリノスシジミ亜科)-Spalgis asmus;(シジミチョウ亜科)-Arhopala doreena, Candalides afretta, Ionolyce selkon, Catopyrops zyx, C. holtra, Ubara davenporti;タテハチョウ科(ジャノメチョウ亜科)-Mycalesis giamana, Platypthima antapa.このうち,I. selkonとC. zyxはブーゲンビル島,C. holtraはニューブリテン島(ともにパプアニューギニアの地域)に産する.M.celiaba, T. sadrella, S. asmus, A. doreena, M. giamanaの5種は,パプアニューギニアとイリアンジャヤの両方に産する.のこりの種は,今日までのところ,パプアニューギニアだけから知られている.なお,Udara kodama ELIOT & KAWAZOE,1983(シジミチョウ科:シジミチョウ亜科),Playpthima septentrionalis NIEUWENHUIS & HOWARTH, 1969(タテハチョウ科:ジャノメチョウ亜科)の2既知種の分類学的地位を改めた.

高度情報化社会の進展にともない, マルチメディア情報の著作権保護などを目的とした画像データへの付加情報埋め込み方法がいくつか提案されている.筆者らは既に画像における標本化格子の2次元位相変調の概念に基づく付加情報の埋め込み方式を提案した.本論文では, この方式における符号化信号処理手法について, 静止画符号化(JPEG)に対する耐性を通して, 復号誤り率の観点から検討を行っている.その結果, スプライン補間および帯域制限補間による符号化処理は, その処理量は増加するものの, 双1次補間による処理よりも付加情報の復号誤り率を小さくできることを明らかにしている.たとえば, 標準画像"Zelda"の場合, JPEG圧縮比3.6, 位相シフト量a=0.1において復号誤り率を双1次補間の場合の約1/5にまで低減できることを示している.

Two-dimensional Fourier transform analysis is presented as an advanced method for numerically processing the Young's fringes diffraction pattern from a double-exposure speckle photograph. The fringe spacing and orientation are determined using only one Young's fringes pattern without any other diffraction halo patterns. This algorithm is based on the 2-D FFT of the fringe pattern with 256×256 pixels. Therefore, it has enabled automatic analysis to be performed with noisy and poor fringe patterns. The measurement of deformation field by the laser speckle method can be carried out with higher accuracy, reliability and speed.

Life has no plot, says Isadora Zelda Wing, the protagonist and narrator of Fear of Flying, but "to help us along we create little fictions ... which clarify and shape our experience," Erica Jong, the writer, quotes Jerzy Kosinski. Fear of Flying is an attempt to create a fiction whose completion generates a novel and a novelist. It is an autobiography by a would-be novelist, or, to use Steven Kellman's phrase, a self-begetting novel.Isadora, a poet and would-be novelist, seeks a "zipless fuck," and to have an odyssey with a lover. During the odyssey she attempts to retrieve her past, and affects by turns literary figures like Simone de Beauvoir, Virginia Woolf, Colett and soon. At the end the lover proves to be no real zipless fuck and leaves her. So she must face her real self. When she reads her notebook, with many things jotted down in it, a revelation comes that the odyssey was an attempt to fly on her own wings, and that she need not apologize for it. With this revelation, the notebook turns into the novel.Fear of Flying has an open ending; Isadora cannot get her zipless fuck nor does she leave her husband. That is a compromise and leaves Isadora and her creator in a state of frustration. The frustration leads them to write another novel, How to Save Your Own Life, in which Isadora gets her real zipless fuck. Thus the search for the zipless fuck completes itself as a metaphor for the search for the writer's identity as a woman novelist.

ユーザとコンピュータがインタラクションを行う機会が増加している中,それらコンピュータと人間を結ぶインタフェースには,ユーザがより使いやすく,また,そのインタラクションを楽しめることが求められる.本研究では,ユーザがコミュニケーションを楽しむことができるインタフェースエージェントの実現を目指し,その要件としてライフライクさとユーザの心の理解に着目する.ユーザエージェントがライフライクであるためには,自律的に変化・成長し,自分とは異なる第三者的な存在である必要がある.そのために,ユーザエージェントに感情と欲求のモデルをもたせ,ユーザエージェント自身が自律的に変化する.また過去の履歴を踏まえることで,同一の入力に対して常に同じ応答を返すことはない.また,コミュニケーションを継続するためには,ユーザエージェントがユーザに対する協調性をもつ必要がある.そのため,ユーザ自身の感情を表現した感性語に対して,共感するエージェントの実現を目指し,ユーザエージェントに感情語を共有するための感情語彙マップをもたせる.今回,エージェントのプロトタイプシステムを構築し,ユーザエージェントの自律的変化と感情語の入力に対する感情変化の動作について検証した.A user interface is more preferable if it is to be easier to use and give more fun to user. In this paper, we propose a user agent based user interface where the user agent is "life-like" and "cooperative with users". To be life-like , the agent should change its behavior and grow up autonomously. For that purpose, the proposed agent has emotions and instincts as the agent's internal states and change its behavior based on the states which changes by internal mechanism. To be cooperative, the agent should understand what emotion the user feels. The proposed agent has an emotional state map that expresses the relation between user's emotion and the words. With the map, the proposed agent understands user's feeling by words the user give and can act like feeling sympathy for the user.

近代ナショナリズムに対する批判が、人間の歴史的真正さへの志向性を相対化することに成功し、宗教概念論という新たな研究潮流を生み出した。その背景には一九六〇年代後半に始まるフランス現代思想の、ポストコロニアリズムあるいは植民地主義を介した一九九〇年代の動きがあった。こうした流れの中で、近代を中心とする日本宗教史の言説が流布しているが、一方で近世以前の時期に対する研究は影を潜め、近代が作り出した過去の言説として、近世以前の時期は扱われるにとどまった。同時にそうした固定化された日本宗教史研究は、ポストコロニアル研究などのもつ社会に不平等性に対する批判力を抹消させ、形骸化された制度史研究に宗教概念論の批評性を無効化させてきた。本稿ではこうした近年の傾向に一石を投じるために、非近代西洋的な余白として近世の信仰世界や民俗宗教を研究する可能性を理論的に模索する。

Abstract:Der Protagonist Bastian nennt die Kindliche Kaiserin Mondenkind, weil er den Hohepunkt seiner Lekture um Mitternacht erlebt. Also der Mond in der Nacht. Daher ist ein Schlusselwort dieses Werkes die "Nacht". Perelin, ein Symbol des Lebens, wachst in der Nacht und welkt jeden Morgen. Der Nachtwald wird Sandwuste bei Tage, also sind der Tag und der Lowe Graograman Symbole des Todes. Das ist eine ethnografisch seltene Kombination. In der Schule wird Bastian von den Kindern aus seiner Klasse schikaniert und das macht ihm seine Stunden in der Schule zur Holle. Dagegen liest er mit Freude in der Nacht und tritt sogar in Phantasien. Somit gibt es solch ein umgekehrte Kombination. Die Kindliche Kaiserin ist eine Hauptfigur, die im Kunststuck schriftlich fest niedergelegt ist. Deswegen bleibt sie ewig jung. Bastian soll die Geschichte, die ihr gehort, moglichst unverandert erhalten und darf ihr nur einmal begegnen. Der Alte vom Wandernden Berge zitiert den Beginn des Werkes ohne Befugnis. Woher konnte er den Text wissen? Ich vermute, dass der Autor nicht umhinkonnte, den Alten diesen nun einmal kunstlerisch hochst fein fixierten intradiegetischen Text wieder einmal auf der metadiegetischen Ebene wortlich anfuhren zu lassen. Wahrend seiner reichen Erfahrungen in Phantasien bleibt Bastian unselbstandig. Er verlangt nach Anerkennungen seines Anhangs. Das verursacht Unheil in Phantasien. Bastian wird nicht gepruft, ob er autonom denken und leben kann. Meines Erachtens ist das eine Schwachstelle dieses Werkes. キーワード:活字, 夜, 権限を越える引用・語りの破綻

2002年,福岡都市圏が水道水源の約1/3を依存している筑後川流域は観測史上3番目の少雨を記録し,最大55%の取水制限が実施されたが,福岡都市圏では給水制限には至らなかった.これは利水関係者および関連行政機関で頻繁な渇水調整が行なわれたことや,1999年に完成した山口調整池の運用などによる水資源管理が効果を上げたためであると考えられている.本研究では,2002年~2003年にかけての水文特性や貯水量の変動,この渇水に対する関連行政機関へのヒアリングを行った.さらに,福岡導水事業の一環として建設された山口調整池の効果について,調整池がなかった場合を想定したシミュレーションを行い,考察を加えた.その結果,山口調整池の運用の効果が大であったことが示され,山口調整池が建設されていなかったらかなり厳しい渇水になっていたことが推測された.

本論文では,粒子・流体ハイブリッドプラズマシミュレーションの,負荷分散技法 OhHelp を用いた並列化について述べる.すでに OhHelp を適用して良好な結果が得られている全粒子シミュレーションに比べ,ハイブリッドシミュレーションは電磁場の計算負荷が相対的に大きいため,計算と通信のバランスを大幅に見直した実装を行った.特に Cyclic Leapfrog 法による電磁場計算に関する,通信回数削減と計算量増加のトレードオフポイントを見出すことが可能な設計とした.また実用的なシミュレーションに不可欠な,スナップショットやダンプファイルの出力方式も検討し,並列 I/O を用いて並列性能と利便性の両立を図る設計・実装を行った.性能評価の結果,256 プロセスでの実行で 241-456 倍の台数効果が得られること,電磁場計算では計算量増加を抑えることが効果的であること,およびスナップショットと Weak/Strong Scalability との関係が明らかになった.This paper describes a parallel implementation of particle-fluid hybrid plasma simulation with our load balancing method OhHelp. In hybrid simulation, the cost to simulate the progress of electromagnetic field is more significant than that in full-particle simulation whose OhHelp'ed parallelization has already been proved efficient. Thus in this work we revisited the issue of the cost balance between computation and communication, especially for Cyclic Leapfrog method and the trade-off between reducing the number of communications and increasing computational amount. We also designed and implemented parallel-I/O for snapshot and dump, being essential for practical use of our simulator, to reconcile parallel performance and convenience of users. Our evaluation exhibited that the speedup with 256 process is 241- to 456-fold and that suppressing computational cost is the first priority in Cyclic Leapfrog. We also obtained valuable insights about the relationship between weak/strong scalability and snapshot frequency.
