多国語習得者の失語症の一例を報告した。症例は68歳,女性。9歳より26歳までシンガポールで生活したため英語が堪能となった。 58歳まで貿易会社に勤め,その後自宅で学生に英語を教えており英語を使用する機会は多かったが日常会話は日本語であった。 69歳時,脳梗塞により失語症となった。発症当初,発語は全く認められなかったが,回復するに従って英語が日本語よりも良好な結果を示した。多国語習得者の失語症については,欧米では多くの報告があり,その回復の過程において母国語から回復するというRibotの説,日常語が良好とするPitreの説,感情的要因を重視するMinkowskiの説が有名であるが本例ではこのいずれにも当てはまらず,母国語でもなく日常語でもなく特に感情的要因が強かったとも考えられない英語の方が良好な回復を示し,日本語の失語症と欧米の失語症とは回復の過程において異なる要因が存在する可能性があると考えられた。

Urbanism Places Exhibition 2018 was held at 55HIROBA of the Shinjuku Mitsui Building in September 2018. The central concept raised by the exhibition on urban-planning-based public spaces was “planning heritage as real place”. The exhibition consisted of 4 thematic programs, which had a common principle not to disturb day-to-day activities in the planning heritage place. On the other hand, the exhibition itself was expected to derive public space functions and possibilities. The visitors’ evaluation made clear challenges on the balance between the conceptual pursuit and the visitors’ satisfaction as well as the differences of the evaluation between experts and non-experts.

イヌジステンパーウイルス(Canine distemper virus;CDV)は食肉目動物に致死的な感染を引き起こす。イヌでの致死的な感染はワクチン接種により減少しているが,野生動物での流行は拡大している傾向さえ見受けられる。更には,中国ではヒトと同じ霊長類であるサルに流行し,多くのサルが犠牲となったばかりか,国内の検疫所でも見つかっている。本項では最近国内の野生動物で発生した事例を中心に紹介する。

[Purpose]The coracohumeral(CH)ligament is deeply related to the restriction of lateral rotation of the shoulder joint. The present report concerns our experience in evaluation of the CH ligament by 3D MRI in relation to the restriction of a lateral rotation.[Materials and methods]The study covered 43 shoulders of 43 patients who had disorders in the shoulder since 1999, and underwent 3D MRI examination. Of these subjects, llshoulders of llpatients were examined twice, when the symptom was distinct and at a stage of remission. As controls,9shoulders of 8 healthy persons were observed. The MRI equipment used was Model SIGNA HORIZON LX 1. OT of GE Yokokawa Medical, and images were constructed on the basis of 3D GRASS images (TR 32, TE 15) derived from 100 consecutive slices of 1mm thickness. The correlation of the angle of lateral rotation as measured at the time of MRI examination with the thickness, length and signal intensity of CH ligament determined on MRI image was checked.[Results]The mean values of lateral rotational angle, and thickness of CH ligament were 71.1°and 3.1mm, respectively, in the normal group(N), while those in the symptomatic group(S)were 35.6°and 5.2mm. A significant correlation was recognized between the lateral rotation angle and the thickness of the CH ligament. No significant correlation was seen between the lateral rotation angle, signal intensity and ligament length. in group S2 where the MRI examination was carried out twice, at the symptomatic phase and at the remission phase, the lateral rotation angle increased and the thickness of the CH ligament reduced significantly in the remission phase in comparison to those in the symptomatic phase.[Conclusion]The more the lateral rotation was restricted, the greater the thickness of the CH ligament was. This study indicates that the movable range of the shoulder joint can be estimated on the basis of image diagnosis.

福島県伊達市霊山町でかつて操業していた伊達永井鉱山の鉱石を用いて、地域の小学校高学年の児童を対象に、灰重石を分離する授業実践を行った。この実践は、児童が鉱石を破砕・粉砕し、鉱物を取り出し、希塩酸や紫外線ランプなどを用いて鉱物を同定するものである。実践の結果、児童は楽しみながら活動を行い、鉱石から灰重石を取り出すことができた。

Qualitative investigation has been carried out on the vibration of superstructure which is assumed to be a shear beam of uniform section on elastic foundation. Coupling effect with vertical vibration of main hull is also studied, and is assessed to be less than 5% on the frequency. Calculation procedure of the vibration, using electronic digital computer, is established treating the deck houses as an array of shear beams connected each other by elastic springs. The qualitative investigation mentioned above is extended in more detail by this procedure. The results show that there exists a relation among the calculated frequencies, which is similar to so-called Dunkerley's formula, i.e. (1.07/Nc)^2=(1/Nr)^2+(1/Ns)^2 where Nc, Nr and Ns are calculated frequencies and Nc; Considering finite values of both vertical-and shearing springs. Ns; Frequency in the limiting case where elasticity of vertical springs tend to infinity. Nr; Frequency in another limiting case where elasticity of shearing springs tend to infinity. Then the lowest frequency is effected predominantly by the lower one of both Nr and Ns. In the actual structures Ns has simple relation with the height of the structure, i.e.: Ns=2600-90H cpm (H: height of superstructure, excepting poop Dk house) On the contrary, Nr undergoes significant changes due to the variety of structure. Vibration experiments have been carried out on 10 ships, and the vibratory behavior of the superstructures is observed. Comparison between measured frequency and calculated value shows that the latter is higher than the former by about 30%. Thus the lowest frequency can be estimated applying the empirical coefficient (0.73) to the calculated values. Estimated frequencies of 10 ships by digital computer agree within±10% of error with their measured values. A brief discussion on the effect of designing factors on the frepuency is investigated by the procedure mentioned above. Finally the simplified method is proposed to calculate natural frequency. Estimated frequencies of 14 ships by this method agree with their measured values within±15% of error.

本研究では,自動車運転時の乗員の筋電位を自動車の運動性能の評価指標として用いる可能性を調べるために,乗員の筋電位と車両の横加速度との相関を調べている.筋電位は,頭部を支える役割を持つ頚部左右の胸鎖乳突筋に対して計測を行った.実験では,被験者を後部座席に乗車させ,市販車とその剛性を改良した改造車でスラロームコースの走行を行った.結果は,加速度が生じる方向とは逆側の筋肉の筋電位が大きくなることが分かった.加えて,車両内部に生じる横加速度の小さい改造車に乗車した時の方が,筋電位のRMS値が小さくなる傾向がみられた.

成長の著しい乳幼児期の子どもの衣服は、着用できる期間が極めて短い。成長に伴う不用衣服がどのように処理されているのか、加えて少子化の現在、ひとりの子どもに対する衣服のもらいすぎ、買いすぎはないか、その実態を明らかにし、それへの提案を試みた。近畿を中心に、0歳から5歳の子どもを持つ母親306名にアンケート調査をした結果、成長に追随できず不用となった衣服やプレゼント衣料の多くが活用されていないことがわかった。不用衣服の処置方法においても、廃棄を含めタンスに保管など、利用されていないものが多いことがわかった。着用機会が少ないセレモニードレスについては、二部式にし、1歳前後の幼児服としても活用できるように製作を行った。

We describe the results of conservative treatment using a Kyuro knee brace in 12 cases (6 males and 6 females, ranging in age from 6 to 64 years) who had fresh tears of their cruciate ligament. The treatment consisted of eary continuous passive knee motion with protective bracing for three months. The mean follow-up period after injury was 5 months. M R imaging at follow-up revealed two different modes of conjoining. Seven cases with ACL tears had successful results at 6 months. However one case with on ACL tear and plateau fracture did not achieve such successful results. Two cases with avulsion fractures of the PCL had successful results at 3 months. We believe that conservative treatment is effective for treating fresh tears of the cruciate ligament.
