Rubber gloves are the indispensable items in our life. They protect our hand from an injury, a medicine wound, a virus and bacteria. <br/>Over the past years, there has been a notable rise in the demand of gloves whenever there is an outbreak of flu or viral diseases. During and after such outbreaks, there is a sudden change in the demand for rubber gloves due to increased hygiene concerns. In addition, the demand for gloves from food industry and others services is also set to increase. <br/>This report gives a production method and the market trend of rubber gloves.

わが国においてスターチ腹膜炎についての認識は低く,パウダーフリーの手術用手袋の普及も進んでいない.今回,虫垂切除後にスターチ腹膜炎を発症し,その後の経過を長期に観察しえた1例を経験したので報告する.症例は16歳女性で,1994年,虫垂炎に対し虫垂切除を行った.術後9日目から小腸通過障害をおこし,12日目に腹腔鏡下癒着剥離術を行った.黄色混濁腹水と腹膜小結節を認めた.腹水の培養は陰性であった.術後発熱と高い炎症反応が続いた.CTで腹水の貯留と腸間膜の肥厚を認めた.手袋のパウダーでの皮内反応が陽性であった.スターチ腹膜炎と判断しステロイド投与を行ったところ炎症反応は低下し,腹水も消失した.その後も小腸通過障害,複数回の腹痛があったがいずれも保存的に軽快した.スターチ腹膜炎が長期にわたり患者のQOLを悪化させた可能性があった.今後パウダーフリーの手術用手袋を普及させる必要があると思われた.

A half-toroidal traction drive CVT has a feature of small spin at traction pitch in whole speed ratio range of 1:4, which suits to transmit high rotational speed with minimum temperature increase of traction surface. Research activity on traction drive CVT has commenced in 1996 for applying it to an aircraft 24,000rpm constant-speed generator instead of a hydro-static transmission. This paper shows fundamental design of 90kW traction drive integrated drive generator, ``T-IDG", and stability analysis on a sensor-less electro-hydraulic speed control servo-mechanism by bond graphs. The performance test of T-IDG mounted on a test bench and an actual jet engine proved that the control system using sensor-less servomechanism can keep the generator speed within MIL-STD-704E allowable limit against steep changes of speed and load.

In Japan, one of the duties of the long-term care insurance system is the prevention of oral function degradation. Although various exercise programs for oral function have been developed and practiced in Japan, to date, no study has reported their effects. In the present study, we examined the effects of an exercise program on oral functions in healthy elderly people. Healthy elderly people participated in the study and were randomly divided into intervention and control groups (39 subjects/group). The exercise program consisted of four exercises: exercise for expression muscles, tongue, salivary glands, and swallowing. Before and after a six-month intervention period, we evaluated changes in oral functions, namely bite force, swallowing ability, and salivary flow rate. Fifty-four subjects completed the study protocol: 26 and 28 subjects from intervention and control groups, respectively. A significant improvement in all oral functions, including bite force, swallowing ability, as well as unstimulated and stimulated salivary flow rate, was observed in the intervention group after six months, whereas no improvement was observed in the control group. Further, among the intervention group, a significant improvement in oral functions was observed in 17 subjects with 20 or more remaining teeth, whereas no improvement was observed in the other nine with less than 20 teeth. Our results suggest that oral functions significantly improve after conducting a six-month exercise program for oral function. Further, this improvement appears to be influenced by the number of remaining teeth.

秋葉原地域における集積持続のメカニズムは、周辺業種を多様化させることにある。これは、地域産業における「古い仕事」に「新しい仕事」を追加することで実現する。秋葉原地域では、時代にあわせた産業構造、集積エリアが形成され、地域全体の特徴が明確になることで、他地域に対する競争力を確保することができた。多様性を支えた地域の物理的環境は次の4点である。今後の発展のためにはこれらがより進化していくことが望まれる。1)限定された地域・機能・用途ではあるが「混用」が実現している。2)規模の小さな街区の存在。3)「古い建物」の存在と、建てられた年代の異なる建物の混在。4)一定の人口密度。
