この数年、長野県では農林業複合経営或いはきのこ複合経営の中で菌床シイタケを導入する動きが顕著となっているが、栽培歴が短く栽培技術の面で不明な部分が多く残されている。このため、最適培地の開発、防カビ剤の利用開発、栽培容器の検討、環境調節法の検討、その他安定栽培技術の検討等について試験を行い、より効率的かつ安定的な栽培法の解明を図ってきたが、この主な結果については次のとおりである。(1) 最適培地の検討のうち、栄養添加材についてはコメヌカ、フスマ、コーンブラン、スーパーブラン、キノゲン、タイロン、バイデルを検討したが、いずれの材料でも良好な子実発生が得られており特別な材料は要しなかった。しかし、材料によっては多用すると発生不良になる場合があり、使用品種、栽培法を勘案して配合量を調整することが必要と認められた。(2) 培地基材については、ブナオガコを標準に用いたが、他にコーンコブミール、モミガラ粉砕物、シラカンバオガコ、コナラのドリル屑を検討した。この結果、コーンコブミールは菌床シイタケに不適と認められた。モミガラ粉砕物では発生量が増加したが、個数が増え個量の下がる傾向であった。シラカンバオガコでは子実体の品質低下を来していた。ドリル屑を使用し粒子を粗めに調整すると子実体個重の増加などが認められた。(3) 微量添加材については、フスマに消石灰を添加したところ極端な発生量の減少に陥った。ナメコ栽培では効果のみられた組合せであるが、シイタケでは不適と認められた。(4) 菌床シイタケ用品種としては、北研600号を標準に用いたが、この他に明治製菓9K3号、9K4号、森MM1号、塚越系、中国系を供試した。この結果、培地組成や培養法によって子実発生量、形状に大きな差が生じ、品種間の特性に幅があることが認められた。(5) 菌床シイタケ栽培における防カビ剤の利用開発としては、パンマッシュ、ビオガード、ベンレートを検討した。これらは所定の濃度で培地に混和して使用したが、いずれも培地上におけるヒポクレア菌の繁殖を阻止していた。また、シイタケの発生量に対しては影響がなかった。(6) 菌床シイタケ用容器の開発については、4種類のビン、5種類の袋、7種類の栓、さらに培地重量などについて検討した。この結果、通気性のよい容器を使用して培養後に5%以上培地重量が減少する状態が子実体発生量の向上に結び付いていた。培地重量を大きくすると子実体発生率(発生量/培地重量)は下がるものの、個重は増加して規格の向上が認められた。(7) 環境調節法のうち、培養温度については20℃定温としたものが最も子実体発生量が伸びた。25℃の温度は発生量の低下に結び付いていた。10、15℃では培養不足の傾向となっていた。収穫中の水分管理においては、培地水分によって発生個数や子実体水分の状態に差が認められた。(8) 短期栽培において生じた子実体発生不良や奇形形成について検討したところ、北研600号においては種菌の熟度が若くかつ栄養添加材の多い培地組成を用いるとこの症状のでやすいことが判明した。若い種菌を使用した場合には、培養期間を伸ばすことで子実発生量が回復することも判明した。(9) 培養中に形成される子実体原基数を調べたところ、初期には多数形成されるもののある時期を過ぎると数の絞られることが認められた。そして、培養中に形成された原基数が後の発生個数を強く支配するものと考えられた。

本研究は,児童(小学1~6年生)を対象(N=378)に,再帰的な心的状態の理解がいつごろ理解できるようになるのかを,「心の理論」研究の二次的信念課題によって検討したものである。既存のアイスクリーム課題(Perher & Wimmer,1985)と誕生日課題(Sullivan et al.,1994)に加えて,簡潔で実施が容易な移動課題を新たに用意し,3つの課題を比較した。さらに,ともに意図的な虚偽を述べている場面で「うそと冗談」を区別させる課題を実施し,再帰的な心的状態の理解との関わりを調べた。その結果,移動課題は誤解や解釈の困難性を招きにくい課題であると同時に,この課題から1年生(6~7歳)で多くの者が二次的信念を理解できることが判明した。また,二次的信念や二次的意図の理解と,「うそと冗談」の区別の正答率に関連があり,うそと冗談を区別する上で再帰的な心的状態の理解が前提となることが確認された。

熱傷急性期の患者2名に漢方治療を試みた。症例1は足の熱傷で, 漢方治療前の連日の消炎鎮痛剤内服にもかかわらず, 患部の腫脹が悪化した。局所の高度な発赤, 腫脹, 熱感, 浸出液の他に口渇もあった。局所の証と津液不足から越婢加朮湯を投与し2日で局所所見は軽快した。症例2は顔面熱傷で, 受傷直後から漢方治療を施行した。水疱形成, 疼痛, 興奮には黄連解毒湯と桔梗石膏を投与した。発赤, 腫脹, 熱感が高度になってからは越婢加朮湯を投与した。3日程で, 落屑を残すのみとなった。熱傷治療では, 漢方薬を併用することにより, 短期間に自覚症状の軽減が得られると思われた。

ホタテガイの赤燈色貝柱における成分分析および色素の同定を行い,その抗酸化作用を調べた。赤燈色貝柱の一般成分,遊離アミノ酸は通常貝柱と有意差がみられなかった。MSおよびNMRスペクトルの結果から,赤燈色貝柱の主な色素はペクテノロンと同定した。ペクテノロンは,アスタキサンチンよりはやや弱いが,β-カロチンより強い抗酸化作用を示し,有用なカロテノイドと考えられた。

All examples of egg dishes described in cookery books published over the Edo period were collected and examined.Eggs, which has characteristics of heat coagulation and foaming, have been widely used not only as the material but also as a side material in various dishes. These cooking properties of eggs were fully utilized in the Edo period. Therefore the egg dishes collected from the literature include almost all those which have been known today.Egg dishes appeared in the literature of the Edo period for the first time. However some egg dishes, for example, “Fuwafuwa” and “Funoyaki” reached the golden age in early Edo period. This fact suggests that these dishes might have been known before the Edo period.

There are three characters in J.D. Salinger's Nine Stories more marvelous than any of the premature or even more sophisticated characters in his other works. They are Seymour Glass in "A Perfect Day for Bananafish," the Laughing Man, the hero of John Gedsudski's story in "The Laughing Man," and Teddy in the short story of that name. Their distinction is marked by a talent to see more than other human beings are allowed and by their choice of death. This thesis discusses the connection between their miraculous talent and their death, taking into consideration their relationship to society and to the people around them.In "A Perfect Day for Bananafish," Seymour's wife and mother-in-law are depicted in a critical and harsh tone, while Seymour himself reserves his critical comments against them. His story of banana fish, which gives the story its title, shows that Seymour is abnormal and that he is to blame for his own death. The inconsistency between the characterization and the thematic meaning of bananafish, however, is not observed in "The Laughing Man." The narrator of the story can see things both from the ideal side, represented by the Laughing Man, and from the realistic one, represented by Mary Hudson. The narrator can sympathize with the both sides and realizes the conflict between them by perceiving John Gedsudski's inability to stay as the Comanche's leader. "Teddy" tries to solve the conflict faced by the narrator of "The Laughing Man" from the transcendental view, Teddy ignores, however, all human feelings, which we cannot neglect. What is worse, we can never completely believe, like Teddy, in the world beyond death. And, if we could, it is in this present world that we are living and need solutions. In the end, "Teddy" only indicates the direction in which to seek for a solution.As Salinger observes, these three miraculous characters cannot keep up with the society, and so he lets them die to show that even our full commitment to them will not solve the problems of this world. Still, by making Seymour's and the Laughing Man's deaths sad, Salinger also intimates that we cannot live a full life without following their life styles. These conflicting attitudes coexist more and more explicitly in Salinger's later works, along with his aversion to American middle class materialism and his admiration to their energy to survive. As a result, what Salinger offers to his readers is a most difficult and sad way of life, much like the narrator of "The Laughing Man." But it is at least an honest and sincere way of living, and many of his young readers seem to sympathize more with this awkward way of living rather than some other clever or bold way, which is after all only a superficial and compromising solution to their predicaments.

<p>This paper is an attempt to examine some affinity between Melville's "The Encantadas" and T. S. Eliot's The Waste Land. This idea in germ lies in Richard Chase's introduction to Selected Tales and Poems by Herman Melville, Holt, Rinehart and Winston, New York, 1950. There, in regard to "The Encantadas," Chase says, "There is a certain Dantean quality in this picture of an enchanted Hell," and also "The Encantadas is Melville's wasteland, in which as T. S. Eliot says in his famous poem, there is rock and no water." The former view to see the story as Melville's version of the Inferno was taken up for further consideration in I. Newberry's "'The Encantadas': Melville's Inferno" (American Literature, Vol. 38, No. 1, March 1966). The latter, the idea of "The Encantadas" as Melville's The Waste Land, has not been examined so far. The paper does not propose to investigate the influence of Melville on Eliot. It does check similarities, obvious and implied, between the two, but, at the same time, tries to see them through the perspective of American literature as a whole so that one may, hopefully, find a clue to the structure of the American imagination. Similarities, indeed, abound in the two works. Both present the sterile paysage moralise where "there is rock and no water," and when there is water, there is "death by water." The reigning color in both is black, with occasional fire of red. Both are often humorous in tone, contrary to the dark subject they are dealing with. When Melville says, "Here at the summit [of Rock Rodondo] you and I stand," one can almost hear Eliot saying, "Let us go then, you and I," and this "you" is close to the "you" in "You! hypocrite lecteur!-mon semblable,-mon frere!" in The Waste Land. The dog in Eliot's ambiguous line, "Oh keep the Dog far hence, that's friend to men," is, if one follows Elizabeth Drew's interpretation, close to that found in "Sketch Seventh" and "Sketch Eighth" (an enemy to men under the Dog-King, a friend under the Chola widow). The style of each sometimes goes out of the boundary of the proper genre (prose and verse). Above all the following three points should be emphasized. First, their allusion to, or reliance on, the heritage of literature, which, typically, will be seen in their quotations and choice of names. A quotation without giving its source (a means to set up a close and closed relation between the author and the reader who identifies it) as in case of the first quotation of each work was to be skillfully used by other American writers too (Hemingway for example). The choice of names like Melville's "Sycorax" or Eliot's "Tiresias," as effective as a quotation, is a technique utilized widely from Cooper ("Ishmael Bush" in The Prairie) to Salinger ("Sybil Carpenter" in "A Perfect Day for Bananafish"). Related to this, one cannot ignore American writers' general concern with names which may go back to the Puritan psychology in the seventeenth century when "the Puritan elegist might well believe that in a man's name God had inserted evidence of his nature and his fate" (Roy Harvey Pearce, The Continuity of American Poetry, Princeton University Press, 1961, Chapt. II, "Origins: Poetry and the Puritan Imagination"). Secondly, they share the device of anticipating what comes later in the work. Eliot uses this device in the famous Tarot cards in Madame Sosotoris's hand. In Melville's case, it is to be found in the description of the creatures at Rock Rodondo. The penguin, "grotesquely misshapen," "pertaining neither to Carnival nor Lent," anticipates "Fatherless Oberlus."</p><p>(View PDF for the rest of the abstract.)</p>

All penetrating neck wounds are potentially dangerous and require emergency treatment, because there are important vessels, nerves, and organs in the neck. We report the rare case of a 71-year-old man with neck injury caused by a glass fragment that penetrated into the floor of the mouth from the submandibular region. The patient had accidentally fallen through a glass door and sustained a 15-cm long incised wound in his neck. He was initially transferred to a district hospital, where he was diagnosed as having arterial bleeding and a neck injury penetrating into the oral cavity; ENT surgeons at the hospital performed temporary hemostasis and tracheotomy under local anesthesia, and the patient was urgently transported to our hospital by ambulance. On admission, he was conscious, and his general condition was good. CT showed no damage to the major vessels, but revealed free air around the sublingual region. Therefore, emergency surgery was performed to repair the perforation from the neck into the oral cavity under general anesthesia. We found the facial artery and facial vein and ligated them during the operation, and the opening into the oral cavity was closed with absorbable sutures. The postoperative course was good, the patient resumed oral intake on day 4 after the surgery, and he was discharged from the hospital on day 9 after the surgery, with the only postoperative complication of palsy of the marginal mandibular branch of the facial nerve. In this report, we review nine cases of neck injury penetrating into the floor of the mouth and 11 cases of neck injury caused by a glass fragment reported in the literature and discuss their clinical findings.

人は,犬猫等のペットに愛着を抱く.ペットは愛情を注がれ,家庭の中で人同様に生活するようになったが,このことで生活習慣が乱れ,過肥,疾病の発生につながっているとも感じられる.そこで,飼い主のペットへの愛着がペットの健康に及ぼす影響を,飼い主への質問紙調査で検討した.その結果,ペットへの愛着として執着性愛着と気分安定性愛着が抽出され,執着性愛着はペットへの不適切な給餌傾向や混合ワクチン未接種に影響し,不適切な給餌をする飼い主の動物は過肥,混合ワクチン未接種,急性膵炎罹患が多く,その飼い主の執着性愛着は高かった.このことから執着性愛着は,不適切な給餌を介してペットの健康に悪影響を及ぼす可能性があることが分かった.ペットの疾病予防や動物愛護実現のため,獣医師は人のペットへの愛着の質について考慮する必要があると考えられる.

雄が繁殖期中に営巣するトゲウオ科、カジカ科、ハゼ科魚類では、雄の腎臓で粘性物質の合成が活発化し、膀胱に尿を蓄えるという共通した現象を見出した。トゲウオ科では雄の腎臓で巣材を接着する物質(スピギン)が合成されることが知られているが、カジカ科の雄の腎臓でもスピギンと相同の遺伝子が繁殖期中にのみ発現していることを見出した。また、トゲウオ科で雄の腎臓抽出物が成熟した雌を誘引する作用を持つことが示唆された。このことから、営巣繁殖するトゲウオ科、カジカ科、ハゼ科魚類の腎臓で合成される粘性物質の機能は、雌の巣への誘引であり、トゲウオ科では雌の誘引に加えて巣材の接着の機能が付加されたと考えられた。

Urban railway lines, upon which large conurbations crucially depend, suffer from chronic congestion and prolonged travel times during peak hours, and improvement of capacity and reduction in travel times are desperately needed. Also, competition with other modes of transport is ever intensifying. These necessitate the realization of a very high performance railway, called in this paper as "ultra-convenient rail transport" (UCRT), which can provide services that much better fit individual passengers' needs. Because needs of the passengers are very diverse, so should the services provided by UCRT. This naturally leads to the conclusion that ultra-high frequency operation is essential for UCRT. In this paper, the authors present the discussions on possible new technologies that can be used to realize UCRT, and the impact they may have on the attractiveness of the services provided by the new railway system. The techniques upon which the authors would discuss in this paper are: (1) moving block signalling systems, (2) on-board turnouts and (3) soft coupling. In the discussion, the pure moving block system (PMB) which stands inside the so-called 'brick wall' assumption and the relative moving block system (RMB) that breaks the 'brick wall' assumption are compared, and significant improvements in performance may be achieved when RMB is combined with on-board turnouts. These techniques contribute to further reduction of headways between trains, and thus contribute to the realization of UCRT.
