The roles of topography on the propagation of the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) are discussed using an aqua-planet of the Nonhydrostatic Icosahedral Atmospheric Model (NICAM) with a 220-km horizontal mesh. Four topographical configurations with different land-sea masks and elevations are tested using a zonally non-uniform fixed-SST distribution. Explicit cloud microphysics is used to obtain MJO-like signals. Broad land cover generally weakens convection because of reduced surface latent heat flux (LHF). Forced lifting because of topography enhances local convection on the upwind side of high topography. It is suggested that the zonal contrasts of LHF are one reason for the delayed eastward propagation of the MJO-like disturbances. When only the eastern portion of the convective envelope is over land where the LHF is small, the LHF becomes rear-heavy, resulting in delayed eastward propagation. As the entire convective envelope proceeds over land, its contrast decreases or even reverses, resulting in faster eastward propagation.

末梢性T細胞リンパ腫は,リンパ腫の約10%を占める不均一な疾患単位の非Hodgkin T細胞性リンパ腫であり,病因も不明な点が多い.標準的治療法が未確立で,初回治療としてはCHOP療法等が選択されるが,治療効果は不十分で予後不良である.自家,同種造血幹細胞移植も行われるが有用性は明らかではない.生命予後の改善のためには,今後モノクローナル抗体等の新規治療法との併用治療も含めて,標準的治療法の確立が望まれる.

言語の包含判定問題とは,与えられた言語 L1 と L2 について L1 ⊆ L2 が成立するか否かを判定する問題であり,理論的な興味の対象であるだけでなく,プログラム検証などへの広い応用を持つ重要な問題である.この問題に関する既知の最も強い結果の 1 つが文脈自由言語と超決定性言語の包含判定の決定可能性である.このオリジナルの証明は,Greibach と Friedman によって与えられている.我々はこの問題に対して,小林らによって提案されている型に基づく言語の包含判定の手法を適用し,決定可能性に対する別証明を与えた.この手法は以下のような利点を持つ.(1) 部分型関係やポンプの補題などのよく知られた概念で理論が展開できる.(2) 型推論を効率的に行う方法は多数提案されており,それらを利用することができる.また,提案する証明は小林らのアイデアを正規言語よりも広いクラスに適用したはじめての例であり,その他の非正規言語クラスへの応用も期待される.The language containment problem, which asks whether L1 ⊆ L2 for given languages L1 and L2, is an important problem in the field of formal language theory and has a variety of applications including program verification. One of the strongest result about this problem is the decidability for the case where L1 and L2 are context free and superdeterministic languages respectively, originally proved by Greibach and Friedman. In this paper, we give a new proof of the decidability, inspired by Kobayashi's type-based approach to language containment problems. The new proof has the following advantages. (1) The key notions and lemmas in the proof are well-known ones, such as subtyping and Pumping Lemma. (2) We can apply well-studied techniques for efficient typability checking. Furthermore, our proof is the first application of the type-based approach to the inclusion between non-regular languages and it seems applicable to other cases.

本研究は密林に覆われた古代都市アンコール帝国の実像解明を目的としている.2012年に取得されたLiDAR地形データから作成した高分解能赤色立体図は密林下の地形と遺構を鮮明に描き出し,王都アンコール・トム周辺地域を含む往時の都市構造を解読することが可能となった.LiDAR地形データをベースに王都内の現況水路網の配水・排水検証と降雨に対する挙動を数値計算した結果、自然勾配を生かした水路網と溜池群などの水利都市構造が,雨季と乾季に二分されるこの地域の気象環境条件を克服し,多数の人口を維持するために機能していたことが推定された.
