This report will show that Juntaro Yamaokas' concept of housing management which played the large part and he made various contributions to the business world in Osaka and in the modernizing of Japanese residential areas in the early twentieth century. He enthusiastically conducted a campain to better the houses through Osaka Jutaku Keiei Co. Ltd. What is more, he provided office workers with cheaper houses, which lightened the burden to them through Osaka Tennoji Tochi Co. Ltd., Bisho Tochi Co. Ltd. as well as Osaka Jutaku Keiei Co. Ltd. This shows that Yamaoka carried out his concept of housing management as social work to satisfy the middle classes', especially office workers' standards. The concept, which he insisted on, was consciously based on the British system of housing developement.

Among packaging materials, plastics have the advantages of being thin, lightweight, robust, bendable, flexible, and are applicable to a variety of shapes. However, plastics also have several disadvantages, including those due to oxygen and water vapor barrier properties. The barrier properties of plastics are extremely important, in particular, from the viewpoint of the shelf life of packaged food products and medicines. The oxygen barrier is necessary to suppress deterioration of food due to oxidation during storage. Moreover, the water vapor barrier is necessary to prevent moisture loss. This review presents the fundamentals of gas barrier properties of plastic products for packaging applications.

医中誌Webは,国内の医学論文を網羅的に検索することができる二次資料データベースである。国内発行の医学・歯学・薬学・看護学及び関連分野の定期刊行物約7,800誌から,約1,500万件の論文を収録しており,教育機関・病院・企業など様々な場面で幅広く利用されている。膨大なデータの中から必要とする論文を効率的に探し出すためには,医学用語シソーラスや副標目などを活用した検索が有用である。また,研究デザインタグ(メタアナリシス,ランダム化比較試験など)を使用してエビデンスレベルの高い論文に絞り込むことが可能である。本稿では,医中誌Webの概要とその検索方法や一般の方への情報提供などについて紹介する。

関節可動亢進(III)型エーラス・ダンロス症候群(EDS)の診断法の確立のために、III型EDSの原因遺伝子の一つであるテネイシンX(TNX)の血清濃度の定量系の開発を、ESI-TSQ質量分析計を用いて行った。その結果、健常人の 血清型TNX 濃度は144 ng/mLであることが明らかとなった。また、III型EDS患者血清における病態バイオマーカーの同定のために、III型EDS患者の血清を用いて、健常人血清と比べて発現差異を示すタンパク質の解析をMALDI-TOF/TOF質量分析計を用いて行った。その結果、補体関連の6個のタンパク質が患者血清中において発現増加していることが明らかとなった。

One case and one study of an atrophy of the vastus medialis (VM), which might be caused not by disuse but by neurophysiological factors, are presented in this paper. (1) A 17-year-old boy showed an acute atrophy of the VM on day 3 after injury of ligaments and menisci of his left knee. This atrophy was demonstrated on MR imaging. (2) The right knee of 11 healthy students was braced for 8 weeks to investigate effects of knee bracing on muscle. Cross-section area of the VM was significantly (p<0, 05) in 8-week braced side. Reflex inhibition of the VM via modulation of afferent activity of the capsule or ligament and meniscus, in response to capsular compression with bracing or acute swelling or injury to the mechanoreceptors in involved tissues, might lead to this muscle atrophy.

有機酸塩によるゲル形成能の低下抑制作用について, その分子量的変化を生成還元糖の測定, ゲル濾過法などにより検討し, 以下の結果を得た.1) 寒天の加水分解により生成される還元糖量は, 溶解寒天液に供試液を添加後, 加熱しない場合には, 供試液組成と関係なくわずかで, いずれもゲル形成能の喪失は認められなかった.しかし, 供試液添加後加熱した場合には, その加熱時間の経過に伴い, 還元糖量が増加したが, この傾向は1%次いで0.68%クエン酸溶液添加において, とくに顕著であった.これに対し, クエン酸にクエン酸カリウムを添加した試料の還元糖量は, 対照として用いた水とほぼ等しく低い値であった.2) 生成還元糖量のごくわずかな増減がゲル形成能に影響するため, ゲル濾過法を用いて, 寒天のゲル形成能と分子量との関係について検討を行った結果, ゲル形成能の喪失は寒天の高分子レベルでの加水分解によるわずかな分子変化によることが明らかとなった.3) クエン酸による寒天の加水分解は, 加熱時間および濃度の上昇に伴い, しだいに低分子物質への分解が促進されるが, クエン酸カリウムの添加はこれを抑制した.

令和4年度から始まった「情報I」の教科書にPython,JavaScript,VBA,Scratchの4つのプログラミング言語が使用されたことから,多くの高等学校がいずれかのプログラミング言語を使用して授業を行うことになる.本研究では,クラスごとに4つのプログラミング言語を使い分けて同じ授業内容でプログラミング教育を実践し,最後に大学入学共通テスト「情報」サンプル問題(第2問)を全員に解答させた.サンプル問題の解答結果や事後アンケートの結果から,どのプログラミング言語を授業で使用していても,大学入学共通テストの解答に大きな影響を及ぼす可能性が低いが,各プログラミング言語が持つ特有の表記や仕様により,少なからず解答に影響が生じていることが明らかとなった.

Viridans group streptococci (VGS) are a common cause of infective endocarditis, and dental plaque is the major source of these bacteria. The present study examined the antibiotic resistance of 635 VGS isolates obtained from dental plaques. Isolates from supragingival plaques were identified using the rapid ID 32 Strep and mini API reader (bioMérieux, France), and minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) were determined by a broth microdilution method. High rates of resistance to ampicillin and tetracycline were detected among the isolates. The most resistant species were Streptococcus sanguinis and Streptococcus salivarius. Among the 635 isolates, 9.1% were resistant to erythromycin, and 20.6% to tetracycline. All isolates were sensitive to vancomycin. Resistance to amoxicillin was observed in 0.2% of all isolates. In this study, we showed the incidence of antimicrobial resistance and the susceptibility patterns among 635 VGS isolates from dental plaque.

Cervical anginaはPhillipsによって1927年に初めて提唱された病態で,何らかの頸椎近傍の病変に由来する狭心症発作性前胸部痛と定義され,さまざまな報告がなされている.この胸痛は生命への危険性を有する虚血性心疾患と同様な疼痛を呈することから,心疾患による胸痛との鑑別が重要である.頚椎・頚髄疾患による胸痛の発生機序に関しては後根への刺激,前根への刺激,椎間板や椎間関節からの関連痛,交感神経系の関与などが提唱されているが,明確な原因は不明である.今回我々は,心疾患に由来する胸痛が否定され,CTMやMRIでC7神経孔部での神経根の圧迫を認め,神経根ブロックをおこない,症状の軽快を認めたことから,C7神経根由来のCervical anginaと診断し,椎弓形成術+椎間孔拡大術を施行し,症状の改善がみられた1例を経験した.

Objectives: Researchers and practitioners in sports science aim to generate, and apply, knowledge to improve sports perfor mance. One area of interest is the role that muscular strength, and thus approaches to improve this (i.e. resistance training), has upon sports performance. In this review we briefly consider the evidence regarding an answer to the causal question “Does increasing an athletes’ strength improve sports performance?”. Design & Methods: We first consider the Applied Research Model for the Sport Sciences (ARMSS) to frame the problem and answer this. We then highlight barriers to answering it (and other causal questions) before offering suggestions to address these. Results: Muscular strength typically differentiates elite and non-elite athletes, and is correlated with proxy measures of sports performance. However, there is insufficient evidence to make a definitive statement regarding the causal effect of muscular strength upon sports performance. Conclusions: Considering the ARMSS, evidence is lacking whether improving muscular strength is causally related to sports performance. Present evidence is primarily observational and cross-sectional, experimental evidence is limited and focused upon proxy measures of sports performance, primarily conducted in small samples, and with little consideration regarding meaningfulness of effects. Suggestions to help improve research in this area and better answer this question include: larger sample sizes, determination of smallest effect sizes of interest for outcomes including muscular strength and proxy measures of sports performance (using both anchoring and/or expert opinion), and use of causal inference methods for observational data (actual sports performance, performance indicators, and fitness measures) including graphical causal diagrams and mediation analysis.

本研究では高灰分粉の使用による国産小麦を原料としたパンの味・香り成分の変化を確認した. LC/MSおよびGC/MS測定の結果, 共通して高灰分粉20 %以上の置換により呈味成分や揮発性成分の傾向が分かれた. 高灰分粉の添加により, アミノ酸の含有量およびアルコール類やラクトン類といった発酵生成物と考えられる化合物群の面積値が増加した. また, メイラード反応生成物も高灰分粉の添加により面積値が増加した. 官能評価において, 国産小麦のパン用小麦粉の特徴を表す単語として「甘味」や「塩味」などが, 高灰分粉40 %置換の特徴を表す単語として「焦げ臭」や「酸味」, 「えぐみ」などが選定された. 高灰分粉の添加により発酵生成物やメイラード反応生成物が増加しており, これらの化合物群が高灰分粉添加のパンの官能評価特性に影響を与えていることが示唆された. 高灰分粉をパンの添加材料として活用することで, 低コストで従来のパンとの風味差別化を図ることが可能になると考えられる.

This paper aims to clarify the process of commercial group in the case of markets in after WWⅡ Kyoto city. Here Black-markets and daily-retail-markets are targeted and following two points are found: firstly, in Kyoto city after Black market deported in August 1946, Kyoto prefecture government allow stalls to open under the regulation. New permission places are expansion to sub-urban area than pre-war and choosing site of building evacuation. Secondly, many privately-owned retail markets opened after WWⅡ and managed by association of merchants. Namely, commercial groups located sub-urban area and new commercial foundation by autonomous activities by merchants.
