オオバナミズキンバイは,我が国における侵略的外来水生植物であり,特定外来生物に指定されている.近年,全国各地で除去作業が行われているが,根絶には至っていない.淀川下流域でも 2017 年以降,国土交通省淀川河川事務所によって毎年除去が実施されているが,根絶には至っていない.本種が根絶できない要因は,除去時に取り残しがあることと,取り残された個体の再生速度が除去作業量を上回るためと考えられる.そこで,本研究は本種の効率的な除去を目的に,覆土による生長抑制や植物体を腐敗・枯死させることや,本種が被陰に弱いという特性を利用した淀川式除去手法を開発・試行した. 本手法の特徴は継続的で段階的な除去を行いながら除去した植物体を腐敗・枯死させることにより,従来の除去作業で課題となっていた「除去した植物体の回収・揚陸作業」と「除去した植物体の処理」を行わずに除去の作業性を上げた点である.また,本手法は従来の除去作業では取り残されていた個体を精度良く除去することができるため,再繁茂しにくく,結果的には効率的な除去ができた.ただし,除去効果の持続性や適用条件の検証については,今後も継続してモニタリングする必要がある.なお,本手法により水質に顕著な悪影響は確認されなかった. 本手法は従来の除去手法で課題であった効率性や再繁茂抑制効果を改善した手法であることから,今後の市民参加による管理活動が容易になる可能性がある.淀川河川事務所では,住民等と行政の橋渡し役である河川レンジャー活動を通じて,市民による除去体制を構築すべく,取り組みを進めている.今後は,他河川等において本手法の適用事例を増やし,様々な状況やナガエツルノゲイトウ等の他の外来種への適用を検討することが望まれる.

多くの知識が手軽に入手できるようになった現代では, 科学知識の入手において専門家と素人の垣根が崩れつつある. 本稿では, 生殖医療に関する科学知識の蓄積とこれを媒介するメディアの充実が, 現代の生殖医療患者にどのような影響を与えているかを検討した. 11名への聞き取り調査から, 現代の生殖医療患者は治療経過に沿って異なる科学知識の収集を行っていることが明らかになった. 治療当初は医療専門家, 知人, 書籍・雑誌, ウェブサイトから基礎的な科学知識を収集し, 治療が高度化する際には個人にあった知識を入手していた. そして, 彼女たちは知識を収集するなかで治療経過に関する標準化されたプロトコルを理解のなかに作り上げることが認められた. ただし, 協力者は, 治療が長期化すると妊娠しない原因を指摘する科学知識から遠ざかり, あえて知識収集しなくなると同時に, 医師の前で「素人」を演じるようになることもわかった. 現代の生殖医療患者は大量の科学知識に囲まれ, その収集を続けるなかで生殖医療に関する不確実性にも触れるようになる. その結果, 現代の生殖医療患者は科学知識に頼っても妊娠するとは限らないことを経験的に理解する. そして, これまで手に入れた科学知識がなかったかのように振る舞いながら, 医師の言動を静かに査定する. 現代の生殖医療患者は, 様々なメディアと自らの経験などから作り上げた独自の専門知識を駆使し, 妊娠を目指していた.

Ectopic pregnancy is considered as a possible diagnosis in cases in which women experience acute abdominal pain and a urinary human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) test produces a positive result. However, we present a case of ruptured ectopic pregnancy involving a negative urinary pregnancy test result. A 34-year-old nulliparous woman was admitted to the emergency room of our hospital due to the sudden onset of lower abdominal pain. Rebound pain in the lower abdomen was detected during a physical examination. Since transabdominal ultrasonography showed massive ascites, and a urinary pregnancy test produced a negative result, we performed a contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan and found a 5-cm right-sided ovarian cyst and extravasation around the left adnexa. We diagnosed the patient with left ovarian hemorrhaging and a right ovarian hemorrhagic luteal cyst. Two hours later, hemorrhagic shock occurred, and an emergency laparoscopic operation was carried out. We detected a swollen left fallopian tube, which had ruptured and was bleeding. We performed left salpingectomy. After the operation, the patient's preoperative serum sample was re-examined to re-assess her hCG level. As a result, her serum hCG level was found to be 23.3 mIU/ml. Pathological examinations showed a very small number of chorionic villi. The final diagnosis was ectopic pregnancy. The patient's postoperative course was uneventful. This case report illustrates the difficulty of diagnosing ectopic pregnancy. Clinicians should include ectopic pregnancy in the differential diagnoses for cases of acute abdominal pain involving women of reproductive age, regardless of the results of urinary pregnancy tests.

Our previous study indicated that certain commercially available proteases inhibit biofilm formation by cariogenic streptococci. Natto made from soybeans cultured with Bacillus subtilis natto contains an abundance of proteolytic enzymes. In this study, we investigated the correlation between the protease activity of extracts from 36 commercially available natto products and the inhibition of biofilm formation. The biofilm inhibitory effect was found to correlate with the level of protease activity in the natto extracts, without reducing the viable cell numbers. The natto extract markedly inhibited the production of a water-insoluble glucan by Streptococcus mutans, which is the main agent involved in the formation of biofilm by cariogenic streptococci. The characteristics of the protease present in the extract were similar to those of nattokinase. Our results indicate that the protease activity exhibited by extracts of the Japanese fermented food natto reduces the risk of caries by inhibiting biofilm formation.

私は1990年代から社会学のテキストとウェブの制作に携わってきた.その経験に基づいて,2つの問題について論じたい.第1に,社会学テキストにおいてディシプリンとしての社会学をどのように提示するべきか.第2に,社会学ウェブのどこまでが社会学教育なのか.そして,それぞれの問題点は何か.テキスト制作上のジレンマや英語圏で盛んなテキストサポートウェブなどを手がかりに考えると,意外に理念的問題が重要であることに気づく.社会学教育には2つの局面があり,それに対応して,2つの社会学教育的情報環境が存在する.社会学ディシプリン的知識空間と社会学的公共圏である.テキストとウェブという社会学教育メディアも,この2つの局面に対応させて展開しなければならないのではないか.そう考えると,現在の日本社会学において「社会学を伝えるメディア」の現実的課題も見えてくる.

食物アレルギーは多様な症状をきたしうるが, 心理的要因や併存しうる身体表現性障害を考慮した診療が行われなければ, 症状が遷延し重篤となりうる. 今回, 食物アレルギーと身体表現性障害を併存し, 身体的介入のみを受けたため多彩な症状が遷延し, 高度な生活障害に至った症例を経験した. 心身医学的介入が症状の改善に有効であったため報告する. 症例 : 40代, 女性. 2年前よりさまざまな食品を摂取した後に発疹, 腹部膨満, 四肢脱力, 情緒不安定などの症状が出現するようになった. 複数の医療機関で食物アレルギーが疑われ, 穀物・果物全般の除去を指導されたが症状は持続. 精査を希望しアレルギー科を受診した際, 四肢脱力をきたし緊急入院となった. 評価では, 食物アレルギー症状以外の症状を説明できる器質的異常を認めず, 身体表現性障害の合併が疑われた. 入院下の行動制限, 外来での情動への対処や自己主張の指導により, 身体表現性障害症状は改善し, 食物アレルギー症状も自制内となった.

This paper surveys regulations over opinion polls on election results in 56 countries, on the basis of the 1985 European Council report. They are recategorized by the levels of current restrictions.First, the paper compares how electoral poll regulations are enforced in France, Belgium, Spain and other countries. From this, electoral poll regulations are characterized by the following points; (A) obligatory annexation of several standards about the poll (e. g. number of sample, survey method, margin of error etc.) with the published poll results, (B) establishment of a “Opinion Poll Committee” in order to manage and control electoral polls, (C) prohibition of publication of election poll results before voting day. Of those three points, most electoral laws place greater emphasis on point (A).Next, some countries' congressional proceedings and newspapers are summarized to show legislative discussions. In parliamentary debates, there were four features; (A) debates beginning with some political accidents (e. g. misprediction of newspapers, landslide victory of one party in the last election etc.), (B) proposition from Congressional members, and their speculation on effects of polls on election results without proof, (C) uneven periods of prohibition. And descriptions of reasons for or against publication ban were also added.

Growing evidence has shown a bidirectional link between the cardiologic and oncologic fields. Several investigations support the role of unhealthy behaviors as pathogenic factors of both cardiovascular disease and cancer. We report epidemiological and research findings on the pathophysiological mechanisms linking unhealthy lifestyle to cardiovascular disease and cancer. For each unhealthy behavior, we also discuss the role of preventive measures able to affect both cardiovascular disease and cancer occurrence and progression.

日常生活においてストレスを強く感じていたり興奮状態にある場合には,相対的に寝つきにくくなったり睡眠中に中途覚醒を生じたり,翌朝起きにくくなったりすることを誰しも経験している.また,寒暑感や騒音,明るさなどが原因となって睡眠が妨げられる場合もある.本稿では,ストレス負荷状態や興奮状態にある場合とそうでない場合についての生理反応および入眠経過の違いと,スムーズな入眠のための就寝前の準備について解説するとともに,睡眠環境因子の中でもとりわけ大きな影響を及ぼすと考えられる光・照明をとりあげて,生体への作用の解説と上手な活用方法についての紹介を行う.

The purpose of this study was to examine associations between the Big Five personality traits and tolerance toward foreign residents in Japan, and to examine the moderating effect of the population ratio of foreign residents in a residential area on these associations. We conducted a multiple regression analysis on a dataset including 18,656 Japanese residents (9,097 females; Mage = 47.80). The results of the analysis showed that tolerance was positively associated with Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Openness and negatively associated with Conscientiousness and Neuroticism. There was a significant interaction between Conscientiousness and the population ratio of foreigners on tolerance toward foreigners. A simple slope analysis showed a stronger negative association between Conscientiousness and tolerance for the high population ratio of foreigners than for the low population ratio of foreigners. We discussed the associations between the Big Five personality traits and tolerance.

【背景】スピリチュアルペインの統一された定義はない.国内の緩和ケア医と精神科医のスピリチュアルペインに関する認識を調査した.【対象・方法】緩和ケアに携わる緩和ケア医・精神科医を対象とした質問紙調査を行った.【結果】緩和ケア医387名(回収率,53%),精神科医374名(45%)から回答を得た.76/69%(緩和ケア医/精神科医)がスピリチュアルペインと抑うつは異なると答えた.66/71%は定義が不十分,59/60%が抑うつなど治療可能な苦痛が見逃されると答えた.40/47%が定義を明確にするべきとしたが,定義のあり方には意見が分かれた.緩和ケア医と精神科医の認識に大きな差はなかった.【結論】緩和ケア医,精神科医ともスピリチュアルペインの定義が不十分と認識するが,望ましい定義のあり方は一致しない.今後日本におけるスピリチュアルペインのコンセンサスを得ることの意義について検討する必要がある.
